Abstract

This research is entitled "Patterns of Interpersonal Communication of Overseas Children and Parents in Maintaining Silaturahmi (Case Study of FIS UIN North Sumatra Students)" with the aim of knowing how the patterns of interpersonal communication of overseas children and parents of students of the Faculty of Social Sciences, State Islamic University of North Sumatra in maintaining friendship. Communication carried out by overseas children and parents of FIS UIN North Sumatra students experience long-distance relationships with differences, communication between overseas children and parents uses media as a communication unit when they live far apart. Then the research method used for this research is field research. The nature of this research is qualitative descriptive with the aim of analyzing the problem based on interpersonal communication patterns of overseas children and parents in maintaining friendship at FIS UIN North Sumatra. The technique of collecting data in this study used by the author is interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of this study are obtained if the communication patterns used by students of the Faculty of Social Sciences, State Islamic University of North Sumatra and their parents are Media Communication Patterns, Consensual Communication Patterns, and Laissez Faire Communication Patterns. It is evident from interviews with 12 people in this study using the pattern. Media Communications because they establish long-distance relationships so that they use the media to establish communication, among the 12 informants in this study there were 8 people using the Consensual Communication Pattern, namely making a harmonious relationship and having openness with fellow individuals in communicating because of frequent communication between overseas children and parents almost every day.

Abstract

This research is entitled "Representation of the Semiotic Analysis of Moral Messages in the Iqro My Universe Film". The purpose of this study is to analyze the moral messages in the film "Iqro My Universe". The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method to explain the moral messages in the film. The research subject is the Iqro My Universe film with a duration of 231 minutes consisting of 80 scenes in total and 7 scenes as objects of analysis. The theory used to analyze this research is the Mass Communication Model, and Semiotic Analysis by Roland Barthes which consists of denotation, connotation, and myth. The results of this study found that in the Iqro My Universe film there are 7 scenes or scenes that contain moral messages. Some of the moral messages that are divided into sub-themes/scene scenes that the researcher chose include, among others; First, every effort we make will never betray the results. Second, the children's family where we come and return. Therefore, family is the most important aspect in our life. Third, don't ever judge someone just from their appearance. Because the eye can only see, feelings can be wrong and negative thinking is a bad attitude that must be eliminated. The film Iqro My Universe teaches us that weak social beings like us cannot be separated from two factors, namely fellow humans and God.

Abstract

The debus tradition that developed in 1722, which at that time was used to fight against Dutch colonialism and to scare the Dutch from entering the territory to be colonized, so that people did things that made no sense to the Dutch, such as cutting their heads off even because of the attractions that made sense. This made the Dutch afraid and would not come again to the area they wanted to colonize. Debus is a village art from the edge of the stronghold which is one of the martial arts and includes elements of sound, dance, so that this tradition of debus was used to fight the Dutch and is now turning into public entertainment.

Abstract

The title of this research is "Communication Analysis of Tamang Mandailing Natal Island Tourism Development". The purpose of this study was to find out how the communication of Tamang Island tourism development and how the supporting and inhibiting factors for the development of Tamang Mandailing Natal Island tourism were. The theory used is the Theory of Diffusion of Innovation in Development Communication as the main theory and the theory of Modernization of Development as a supporting theory. The object under study is Tamang Island tourism. This research approach is qualitative method where this qualitative research method is descriptive and tends to use analysis. The result of this research is that development communication on Tamang Island is still not optimal and is still in the failed category.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to assess the implementation of learning during Covid19 at SMP Negeri Medan City in terms of Context, Input, Process, and Product. The CIPP model will be used in this study as an assessment model. The subjects of this study are Medan City State Junior High School principals, PJOK teachers, and student participants. Purposive sampling was used, with information on 44 principals, 44 PJOK teachers, and 88 students. Methods for gathering information that include observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The quantitative descriptive analysis method was used in this study to analyze information. (1) Overall, the results of the evaluation of the implementation of PJOK learning at the Medan City State Middle School during the Covid-19 period were in the good category. (2) The context of the evaluation of the implementation of PJOK learning during the Covid-19 period at the Medan City State Junior High School, which received a questionnaire score of 3.37, as evidenced by the preparation of the PJOK learning curriculum in forty-four SMPNs in the city of Medan. (3) Input on the evaluation of the current PJOK learning implementation of the Covid-19 pandemic at the Medan City Public Middle School yielded positive results. Based on the study's findings, the researchers concluded that the evaluation of PJOK learning inputs at Medan City State Junior High School during the Covid 19 pandemic was very good, with a total score of 3.53. (4) The process of evaluating the implementation of PJOK learning at Medan City State Middle School during the Covid-19 pandemic was rated as good. Based on research data, the indicators of learning activities that the evaluation of the process in the implementation of PJOK learning at the Medan City State Middle School during the Covid 19 period had a good predictor with 3.12 points. (5) The results of the product evaluation of the implementation of PJOK learning during the Covid 19 period in Medan City were good, with 3.26 points.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of sub-district communication in improving employee discipline and performance at the Medan Labuhan District Office using the path-goal theory of leadership by Robert House. This research was conducted using qualitative methods. This research activity was conducted at the Medan Labuhan District Office. Data collection techniques using interviews, observation and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the role of communication carried out by the sub-district head in improving the effectiveness and discipline of employees' work is as a leader. The coding of messages carried out by a sub-district head is usually in the form of establishing regulations, ethics, penalties, and provisions in the office and the discursive leadership of the Medan Labuhan sub-district as a leader who supervises several employees who work in the organization he leads, the sub-district head in carrying out his duties and obligations. must be able to work in accordance with the group or employees in the agency.

Abstract

The purpose of this qualitative research is to find out: 1) how the moral messages contained in the short film Tilik, 2) whether the moral messages contained in the short film Tilik can build a bad image of Islam. Data collection techniques using observation and documentation. Sources of data from this study are divided into sources, namely primary data sources (Tilik film) and secondary data sources (internet, books, and related journals). The data were analyzed using Roland Barth's semiotic approach. Semiotics Roland Barthes uses the concept of denotation, connotation and myth as the meaning of the message. The research findings show that: 1) the moral messages in the short film Tilik are, the moral messages are visiting the sick, backbiting or gossiping, prejudice, criticizing, bribing, prohibiting slander, selfishness, helping, violating regulations, and spreading hoax news. 2) based on the moral message in this study, it was found that the Tilik film builds a bad image of Islam.

Abstract

Polemics related to the effectiveness of vaccinations are still happening today, this makes the community divided between two groups, namely the group who believes that vaccination can minimize cases of COVID-19 and the group who is afraid of the side effects caused by the vaccine due to the large amount of news circulating. among the public about the side effects of the covid-19 vaccine. The purpose of this study was to determine the perceptions and decisions taken by the people of Denai Village, Medan Denai District, Medan City regarding circulating vaccination information. The theory used in this research is Collective Informative Sampling. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. This study found results that the public considered that vaccination was not a guarantee that a person would not be exposed to the corona virus, this was due to personal factors within them, namely the experiences they saw or felt both from the media and directly. People who are afraid of the side effects of vaccination prefer to use the services of making vaccine certificates without having to be vaccinated. Therefore, only 4 of the 11 interviewees had vaccinated, 5 of them preferred to use the service of making a vaccine certificate without having to be vaccinated, the other 3 were not willing to be vaccinated or to use the service of making the vaccine.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out how the representation of women in the Korean drama it's okay thats loved and find the meanings and signs used to solve this research is the theory of semiotics. The object of the research is the Korean drama it's okay thats love, which is a drama produced by South Korea and aired in 2014 consisting of 16 episodes with a duration of 59-60 minutes. The method used in this study is a qualitative method with the semiotic analysis technique of the Roland Barthes model. The results of the study show that there are several scenes that depict the representation of women in the Korean drama it's okay thats love. The representation of women can be seen from the signs and meanings studied through Roland Barthes' semiotic theory.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the communication strategy of public services at the Medan Marelan District Office. This research uses communication theory, communication strategy, public service, and S-O-R theory. This research is a type of qualitative research with a descriptive research design, including data collection, production of oral and written data, and direct data collection from the research location. The main and secondary data sources consist of eight informants. Interviews, observations, and documentation were used for data collection, while the data analysis procedures included data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Researchers used triangulation of data, procedures, and time to validate the data. Based on the research results, the public service communication strategy is based on the communicator, communication message, communication media, and the intended audience. The public's reaction to the services provided by the Medan Marelan Village shows that the Medan Marelan Village provides excellent and comprehensive service to the community as service recipients, but indeed there are still a few problems with the timeliness of completing services, this is due to network disturbances or when the lights go out. . However, only one or two of these were found, the rest of the service officers have been very maximal in providing public services.
