Abstract

In the world of health, education, and children, we often hear the term autistic child as a designation for children who are seen as different in their communication and social interaction abilities. The aim of the research is to determine the process of implementing an individual learning program for children with non-verbal autism spectrum disorders at the Therapy Centre for Children with Special Needs. Using a qualitative approach with a case study design, this research analyses every stage from the process of preparing, implementing, to evaluating children's learning programs. The results of the research show that the lack of interventionist consistency in providing learning materials to children has an impact on the process, implementation, and evaluation of learning to children. Learning program planning aims to design student experiences to achieve learning goals. The implementation of the learning program is taken from the results of the Beginning Curriculum Guide assessment which is designed into several learning aspects consisting of recognizing objects and body parts, toilet training, using yes and no signals, and carrying out activities slowly. From the evaluation results, it is stated that interventionist consistency in providing children's learning materials is very important and needed.

Abstract

Identification and assessment are important activities for early detection of children with special needs. Assessments are carried out to determine conditions and characteristics, abilities, obstacles, and strengths, as well as needs. This research aims to describe the implementation of identification and assessment, identify the obstacles experienced in implementing identification and assessment of dyslexia students, and explain the solutions in implementing identification and assessment of dyslexia students. This research uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach, with data collected. Through interviews, observation, and documentation. Based on the research results, the implementation of identification and assessment of dyslexia students at the X Intervention Lab in Bandung is not optimal. Barriers to the implementation of identification and assessment of dyslexia students include understanding dyslexia, the process of identifying and assessing dyslexia, parental support, and collaboration with educational experts and professional staff. Solutions applied in the implementation of identification and assessment of dyslexia students include studying and understanding dyslexia as well as carrying out identification and assessment, collaborating with students' parents, dealing with dyslexia students directly by researchers without having to refer them to experts, and preparing creative media to help dyslexia students read.

Abstract

The obstacle experienced by most children with cerebral palsy is limited communication skills. This is due to disorders of the speech organs or limitations in receptive and expressive language abilities experienced by children with cerebral palsy. So, when communicating, you need alternative augmentative media or communication systems (AAC) that can help you communicate. This research aims to develop the Speakezio application as AAC media. The method used is the RD (Research and Development) research method with a qualitative approach. This research involves one subject (single subject) which is used as a model in developing applications. This research obtained results in the form of the Speakezio application which was developed based on the results of assessments on target subjects and trials of the application as a media for the AAC system. The trial results show that this application can improve children's receptive and expressive language skills. Apart from that, this application can help communication between children and parents so that parents can more easily understand the messages conveyed by children.
