Abstract

Tegal city is located on the main transportation route of Central Java's pantura and has strong trade access. Due to its strategic location, the city's significant development led to an increase in built-up land. The growth of built-up land indicates an overall increase in temperature that affects urban heat island conditions and urban ecology. The data used in this study is from Landsat 8 accessed from Google Earth Engine. The research aims to 1) analyze the phenomena of urban heat island (UHI) and 2) urban ecological conditions related to temperature based on the value of urban thermal field variance index (UTFVI). The results of the research show that spatial relationship between the East and South of Tegal City with Tegal Regency caused almost all of its territory classified as affected areas. In addition, the East Tegal area is the center of the city where all concentrations of economic activities, education centers, and government service centers in Tegal City. Linkage of Evaluation the urban ecological conditions in the aspect of land surface temperature based on UTFVI values showed the same pattern.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze shoreline changes in Badung Regency, Bali, over a seven-year period (2017-2023), using a remote sensing approach. The methods used involved the use of Sentinel-2 satellite image data, atmospheric correction, NDWI algorithm, raster to vector data conversion, and spatial analysis. The results showed the dominance of accretion over abrasion in the South Kuta area, influenced by factors such as ocean currents, bay geometry, and human activities. Shoreline shifts occur significantly in the westernmost segment, with minimal abrasion dynamics. Tidal conditions play an important role in sediment distribution and wave energy influencing shoreline changes. This study highlights the importance of long-term monitoring to plan appropriate mitigation and adaptation measures to shoreline change, with the results providing valuable insights for coastal area management and sustainable development in the South Kuta coastal area.

Abstract

Muna weaving is a form of local wisdom in Muna Regency that has become the primary source of livelihood for the community. The purpose of this study is to determine the value chain and the actors involved in the value chain of Muna weaving. This study was conducted in four villages that serve as weaving centers in Muna Regency, namely Masalili Village, Madodo Village, Mabholu Village, and Liangkobori Village. Value chain analysis was used to identify the production process of Muna weaving, from the provision of raw materials to the final product reaching the hands of consumers. The results of the study show that the value chain of Muna weaving in Masalili Village differs from that of the other three villages due to variations in the use of raw materials and the distribution of weaving craftsmen as actors in the value chain. The entire production process is carried out in these four villages, and woven products are then distributed to consumers through three channels: purchasing through weaving entrepreneurs, purchasing directly from weaving craftsmen, or through distributors. Muna weaving is now being distributed and promoted abroad, demonstrating its great potential for further development.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model in enhancing geography learning outcomes among students at SMA Negeri 1 Tombulu, using a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design (One Group Pretest-Posttest). The sample was selected through purposive sampling from the population of class XI Social Studies. Data collection employed triangulated instruments: motivation questionnaires, grade documentation, and participatory observation. Descriptive analysis revealed a significant increase in mean scores from pretest (56.66) to posttest (80), with 83.33% of participants (5 students) achieving the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM) in the final phase, compared to none initially. These findings underscore the pivotal role of PBL in optimizing conceptual assimilation of global-local flora and fauna distribution through inquiry-based learning and collaborative group mechanisms. Pedagogically, the study recommends integrating PBL as an alternative strategy within geography curricula to strengthen cognitive and analytical skills.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the geographical study of the Tilangnga' Natural Tourism Object in Tana Toraja Regency using a quantitative descriptive approach and SWOT analysis. Data was collected over three months through observation, interviews, documentation, and literature review, with variables covering physical and non-physical geography. The results indicate that physical aspects include paved road access (strength), a location close to the city center (opportunity), and cool temperatures due to surrounding vegetation. Non-physical aspects include local traditions related to ancient eels (strength), scattered trash (threat), and limited facilities and parking space (weakness). Based on the weighting of ALI (1.2) and ALE (1.6), the tourism object is in quadrant 1, indicating potential to leverage strengths to seize opportunities. The recommended priority strategy is aggressive (growth-oriented strategy), such as optimizing facilities, waste management, and promoting local uniqueness. This research emphasizes the importance of integrating physical and socio-cultural geographical aspects in sustainable tourism development.
