Abstract

Turnover intention refers to an employee"™s inclination to leave the company or organization. This study aims to analyze and examine the significant influence of compensation and organizational culture on the turnover intention among startup employees in Jabodetabek (Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi) area, with job satisfaction serving as a mediating variable. This quantitative study collected the data through a questionnaire distributed to 242 respondents, which was then analyzed using SmartPLS 3.0. The results show that the compensation has a positive and non-significant influence on the job satisfaction. However, it has a negative and statistically significant influence on the turnover intention. Additionally, when mediated by the job satisfaction, it has a positive and non-significant influence on the turnover intention. On the other hand, the organizational culture has a positive and statistically significant influence on the job satisfaction, while negatively affecting the turnover intention. Furthermore, it also has a positive and non-significant influence on the turnover intention when mediated by the job satisfaction. Lastly, the job satisfaction has a positive and non-significant influence on the turnover intention.JEL: M13, M14.

Abstract

Tourist satisfaction and tourism destinations create a value for tourists. The value of specific tourism destinations leads to individual emotional attachments, which are a manifestation of a sense of nostalgia. This study aims to investigate the role of nostalgia on the tourist satisfaction at culinary tourism destinations. Food quality, destination environment, and services all contribute to the nostalgia. The data was collected through LimeSurvey from a total of 300 respondents from Central Java and Yogyakarta and was analyzed using PLS-SEM. The results show that the food quality, destination environment, and services positively affect the nostalgia. Further, the nostalgia also has a strong significant influence on the tourist satisfaction. These findings imply that managers of culinary tourism must be able to provide positive values (impressions) to the tourists by offering unique service, quality, or destination environment compared to other destinations. It is expected that the tourists have a positive memorability which simultaneously create a revisit intention, which is in line with the tourists satisfaction.JEL:D91, D90, Z32.

Abstract

Poverty is a crucial issue that affects various social and economic aspects in Indonesia, requiring severe attention to achieve sustainable development. This study aims to analyse the impact of economic growth, income distribution, human development index (HDI), government social assistance, and consumption on poverty levels in Indonesia. Using a quantitative research approach with secondary data from Statistics Indonesia for 2019-2023, this study employs panel data regression analysis using EViews 13 to examine the relationship between variables. The findings indicate that economic growth, income distribution, and HDI significantly impact poverty reduction, while government social assistance and consumption do not show a significant influence. These findings imply the need for inclusive economic growth, fairer income distribution, and investments in human capital development. Moreover, there is a need to improve the design of social assistance programs and strategies to promote productive consumption to be more effective in reducing poverty. This highlights the importance of targeted and integrated policies to address poverty in Indonesia comprehensively.JEL: I32, O15, H53.

Abstract

This study analyses the effect of carbon emission reporting and environmental performance on mining companies"™ market value which is listed on the IDX (Indonesian Stock Market). Based on sample criteria, 47 company samples were selected for 5 years (2018 "“ 2022), resulting in 235 data samples. This study employs the panel data regression method which is processed using Eviews software. Before data analysis, a model selection test was carried out, and the fixed effect model was chosen as the best fit. The data model"™s feasibility was then tested using classical assumption tests. This investigation reveals a negative correlation between environmental performance and firm value, indicating that environmental performance does not enhance company value. However, voluntary carbon emissions report a positive influence on firm valuation. This research contributes to the literature on corporate environmental responsibilities and their impact on various stakeholders.JEL: G30, G32.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the impact of growth in key industrial sectors on labor absorption in Indonesia, using time series data from 2011Q1 to 2023Q4 and employing the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model. This method captures the long-term and short-term relationships between industrial growth and labor absorption. The findings reveal that, in the long term, the oil and gas processing industry, non-oil and gas manufacturing, trade, and finance sectors significantly influence labor absorption. In contrast, the agriculture and mining sectors do not show a significant long-term effect. However, in the short term, all variables display varying impacts. Interestingly, the agriculture and mining sectors exhibit significant short-term effects despite their lack of long-term influence. This study contributes to the unemployment literature and suggests that the Indonesian government should focus on industrialisation to reduce unemployment. Industrialisation can stimulate job creation and support sustainable economic growth. These findings highlight the need for well-targeted policy strategies to optimise the industrial sector's role in reducing unemployment and enhancing economic stability.JEL: B22, E24, L60.

Abstract

The high levels of foreign direct investment (FDI) and economic openness in East Kalimantan have yet to lead to the region catching up with other areas in Kalimantan. This discrepancy in growth patterns is believed to contribute to regional inequality within Kalimantan. This study aims to analyse FDI and economic openness. This study utilises panel data from provinces in Kalimantan from 2011 to 2020, employing the static panel method. The findings indicate that FDI has a negative effect on economic growth, primarily due to low levels of FDI compared to domestic investment in Kalimantan. Consequently, policies to improve human capital through education are necessary to facilitate technology transfer and ensure that FDI has a positive impact. Additionally, the results show that exports have a positive effect on economic growth, indicating that exports in Kalimantan contribute to economic growth. The contribution of this study lies in its conformity with the endogenous growth theory.JEL: O1, O11, O40, F10, F31.
