Abstract

AbstractThis research is conducted on seventh grade B students of SMP Negeri 2 Rasau Jaya in academic year 2018/2019. The research is conducted to solve the students’ vocabulary problems about meaning and spelling in descriptive text. Classroom action research is used as the method of research. Individual vocabulary test, observation checklist and field note are used as the tools to collect the data. The research is done with two cycles. The result showed that the students’ understanding of meaning was improved by drawing and sticking pictures on word wall media. The students spelling were improved by rearranging the letters into words with right spelling. The students’ vocabulary improvement were proven by the students’ vocabulary test score and students’ behavior while learning vocabulary. The students’ mean score in understanding the meaning improved from 59.5 in cycle 1 to 83.6 in cycle 2.  The students’ mean score of spelling improved from 65 in cycle 1 into 88.4 in cycle 2. Based on field note, the students were more active, enthusiastic and confident while learning English vocabulary in cycle 2. In conclusion, word wall media is recommended to be implemented by the English teacher to teach vocabulary in descriptive text.                           Keywords: Descriptive Text, Vocabulary, Word Wall Media

Abstract

AbstractA common problem in this study is "How to illustrate the aggressive behavior of students at SMP LKIA Pontianak". While general purpose of this research is to know "Picture of aggressive behavior of student at SMP LKIA Pontianak".This research method using descriptive method. Form of research used in this research is survey study. The population in this study amounted to 110, with a sample of 30 students who took 25% of the population with random sampling technique. While the technique of data collector used is direct communication technique and indirect communication. Data collection tools used were interviews and questionnaire aggressive behavior.Based on the results of data analysis of aggressive behavior of students in junior high school LKIA Pontianak classified, it can be concluded that, aggressive behavior in junior high school LKIA Pontianak reached 72.46%Keywoard : aggressive behavior, random sampling

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to determine the effectiveness of the cooperative learning model Think Pair Square type on fraction counting operations material. The method used in this study is experiment method and pre-experimental research with one-shot case study design. The aspect used to determine the effectiveness of learning using a cooperative model of Think Pair Square type is the implementation of learning, student activities and student learning outcomes. Data collection techniques used were measurements and observation sheets. The data collection tool used is a test of student learning outcomes, which contains 6 essay questions, learning implementation observation sheets and observation sheets for student activities. The research data were analyzed descriptively. The results obtained are the implementation of learning with a good category, the activity of students classified as active and the learning outcomes of students complete in a classical manner. Because all effectiveness criteria are fulfilled, the cooperative learning model of think pair square type on fractional counting operating material is effectively used in class VII SMP N 9 Pontianak. Keyword: Effectiveness of Learning, Cooperative Type of Think Pair Square Model, Fraction.

Abstract

 AbstractThe research is carried upon the researcher’s great curiosity toward the function of Koncong Dance among Kanayatn Dayaknese in Babane Village Bengkayang District.It used to be functioned as a ritual dance which is now shifted into a mere performance.The problems in this research are Koncong dance’s ritual function and performance function, and the function shifting on Koncong dance among Kanayatn dayaknese in Babane Village Samalantan Sub-District Bengkayang District. The research implementation plan in cultural arts and dance skills learning in Junior High Level.The method used was descriptive in form of qualitative with anthropology approach.The data was obtained through observation, interview, and documentation. The data validation technique are triangulation and observation extension technique, and the data analysis was anthropology observation with analysis technique when the research was on process.Based on the data analysis, it can be concluded that Koncong dance among Kanayatn dayaknese in Babane village Samalantan sub-district Bengkayang District is a ritual dance that functioned as a treatment media for ill people which function is then shifted into a performance art in order to preserve it. The Koncong dance’s function a treatment for ill people ritual is shifted into a performance art because today’s young generations are unable to preserve it and it is also eroded by the modern age. Abstract

Abstrak: Perkembangan mengungkapkan bahasa anak usia 5-6 tahun yaitu menjawab pertanyaan yang lebih kompleks, menyebutkan kelompok gambar yang  memiliki bunyi yang sama, berkomunikasi secara lisan, memiliki perbendaharaan kata, serta mengenal simbol-simbol untuk persiapan membaca, menulis dan berhitung. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berkomunikasi lisan melalui metode bermain peran  pada anak usia 5-6 tahun di TK Gembala Baik Kecamatan Pontianak Selatan. Bentuk penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas dengan metode deskriptif. Subjek penelitian yakni anak yang berjumlah 20 anak usia 5-6 tahun. Peningkatan kemampuan berkomunikasi lisan melalui metode bermain peran dapat diketegorikan berkembang sangat baik yakni: anak dapat mengeksperesikan komunikasi sesuai dengan perannya, dan anak dapat mentaati aturan yang berlaku dalam suatu permainan. Kata Kunci: Berkomunikasi Lisan, Bermain Peran     Abstract: Development of language reveals that children aged 5-6 years to answer more complex questions, mentioning groups of images that have the same sound, communicate orally, vocabulary, and recognize symbols in preparation foe reading, writing, and arithmetic. This research aims to improve oral communication skills through methods play a role in children aged 5-6 years in kindergarten Good Shepherd Southern District of Pontianak . This research is a form of action research with descriptive method . Research subjects that children who are 20 children aged 5-6 years . Improvement of oral communication skills through role-playing method can be developed very well diketegorikan namely : the child can express his communication in accordance with its role , and the child can obey the rules applicable in a game . Abstract

AbstractThis research is motivated by the diversity of the meaning of cooking verbs in Sambas Dialect Malay Language. The subproblems in this study are, the meaning of cooking fields, components of cooking meanings, types of cooking lexical meanings, and text procedures related to cooking verbs in Indonesian language learning based on 2103 curriculum. While the benefits of this study as a form of regional language preservation. This research uses a descriptive method. In data collection the author uses skillful listening techniques, fishing techniques and recording and recording techniques. The technique of testing the validity of data uses peer review techniques through discussion and reference coverage. Based on the results of the study found 35 cooking lexemes. The cooking verb can be divided into several parts. Based on the water media there are 23 lexemes, the oil media has six lexemes, and the fire media has five lexemes. Based on the cooking process exposed to fire there are five lexemes and not exposed to fire, there are thirty lexemes. Based on tools for cooking using stoves or stoves, there are thirty lexemes and embers of fire, there are five lexemes.Keywords: Cooking verb, Sambas Dialect Malay Language

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan mengungkap kemampuan siswa dalam representasi enaktif, ikonik, dan simbolik pada materi segi empat di kelas VIII SMP Kemala Bhayangkari. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif dengan bentuk penelitian survei. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, aspek representasi enaktif siswa teridentifikasi bahwa siswa mampu meletakkan persegi pada bingkainya dan siswa pada kemampuan menengah dan bawah tidak mampu melipat kertas persegi sesuai garis yang dibuat, kemudian menyebutkan titik dan sisi persegi yang bersesuaian. Pada aspek representasi ikonik, semua siswa tidak mampu menempelkan potongan kertas segi empat sesuai dengan sifatnya dan hanya satu siswa yang tidak mampu menggambar sebuah segi empat pada diagram Kartesius. Pada aspek representasi simbolik teridentifikasi bahwa semua siswa tidak mampu mengidentifikasi benda-benda di sekitar dan mengelompokkan benda-benda tersebut sesuai dengan jenis-jenis segi empat, tapi semua siswa mampu menuliskan pasangan sisi yang sama panjangnya dari suatu segi empat.   Kata Kunci: Representasi Matematis, Segi Empat   Abstract: The purpose of this research is to reveal the students ability of representation enactive, iconic, and symbolic on the quadrilateral matter in the class 8 SMP Kemala Bhayangkari. The method that is used is descriptive research in survey research mode. Based on the result of research, student?s enactive representation aspects identified that student is able to put a square on the frame and students at the intermediate and lower ability is not able to fold a square of paper according the line, then made its point and the relevance edge of square. In the aspect of iconic representations, all students are not able to put a rectangular piece of paper in accordance with it?s associated and only one student who was not able to draw a rectangle on the Cartesian diagram. In the aspects of symbolic representation identified that all students are not able to identify objects around and classify these objects according to the types of rectangular, but all students were able to write the same edge pairs in length of a rectangle.   Keywords: Mathematical Representation, Quadrilateral

Abstract

AbstractThis study aimed to analyze the effect of learning strategies preview, question, read, reflect, recite, review (PQ4R) on reading comprehension skills of class V students of Pontianak City 66 Elementary School. The method used is the experimental method, while the form of research used is quasi experimental design with nonequivalent control group design. The population and sample in this study were all fifth grade students of Pontianak City 66 Elementary School. The data collection tool used was a multiple choice test with 45 questions. Based on data analysis, the average post-test results of the experimental class were 81.31 while the average post-test results of the control class were 63.18. The results of the t test are obtained tcount of 7.682 and t table α = 5% (with dk = 33 + 32 - 2 = 63) of 1,999, which means tcount (7,682 )> t table (1,999), then the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. It can be concluded that there is influence learning strategies preview, question, read, reflect, recite, review (PQ4R) on comprehension reading skills in class V of Pontianak City 66 State Elementary School. From the results of the calculation of the effect size (ES) ES obtained is 1.4 (high criteria). This means that the learning strategies of preview, question, read, reflect, recite, review (PQ4R) have a good influence on reading comprehension skills of class V students of Pontianak City 66 Elementary School. Keywords:  Preview, Question, Read, Reflect, Recite, Review (PQ4R), Reading Skills, Reading Comprehension

Abstract

Abstrak: Meremediasi miskonsepsi siswa menggunakan media lectora inspire tentang teori kinetik gas menjadi tujuan penelitian pre-experimental design rancangan one-group pretest-posttest design ini. Sembilan soal tes diagnostik berbentuk pilihan ganda yang mewakili tiga konsep fisika berkaitan dengan teori kinetik gas disusun menggunakan metode Certainty of Response Index (CRI) termodifikasi diberikan kepada sebelas sampel di kelas XII IPA 2 MAN 1 Pontianak. Ditemukan bahwa penerapan media lectora inspire dapat menurunkan jumlah miskonsepsi siswa (ES=2,67). Diharapkan media lectora inspire dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif kegiatan remediasi pada konsep-konsep fisika. Kata kunci : Remediasi, Kinetik Gas, Lectora Inspire Abstract: The one group pretest postest pre experimental design was conducted to remedy student?s misconception of the kinetic theory of efficent by implementing the lectora inspire program. A series of aims question of the modification Certainty of Response Index of three option multiple choice test was administered to prompt this misconception among  grade students of the goverment religious secondary school at Pontianak city. Eleven student participated in this study. Result indicated that the lectora inspire can be used to reduce the number of students misconception (ES=2,67). Abstract

AbstractThis research aims to describe student’s translation ability on mathematical representation in terms of student belief in the Pythagoras theorem material of sets in grade VIII SMP Negeri 19 pontianak. The method that was use in this research is descriptive method with case study form. The subject of this research are 32 students. The data collection instrument that used is written test in essay, questionnaire, and interview as the follow-up activity. The result of data analylisis showed that the students’ translation ability on mathematical representation is classified as very low, six types of translation that might occur translation ability on mathematical representation from the symbol representation to the visual representation is classified  highest and translation  ability on mathematical representation from the visual to the verbal representation is classified lowest. Keywords: Translation Ability on Mathematical Representation, Student Belief, Pythagoras Theorem.
