Journal of Journal of Islamic Economics (JoIE) is open access, peer-reviewed journal whose objectives is to publish original research papers related to the Indonesian and international economy, economics policies and business issues. Abstract

Introduction: This paper explores the role of Islamic values in promoting tolerance and preserving cultural heritage through community empowerment in Kampung Tahu Educational Tourism. The study provides a background on how integrating Islamic principles with local wisdom contributes to sustainable development and strengthens social cohesion. Research Methods: Using a qualitative approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis to examine the management strategies employed in empowering the Kampung Tahu community. Results: The findings reveal that the combination of religious values and cultural practices has positively impacted the community’s social and economic dynamics, enhancing unity and cultural preservation. The Kampung Tahu model demonstrates how educational tourism can drive economic growth while maintaining cultural identity. This research offers insights for other regions looking to implement similar strategies, emphasizing the significance of Islamic teachings in fostering harmony and sustainable development. Conclusion: The study concludes that religious and cultural integration is essential for community resilience and prosperity.

Abstract

Introduction: Currently, the halal tourism business through sharia hotels is increasingly vibrant in the era of globalization in line with the large demand for domestic and foreign halal tourism markets. Islamic marketing is an important part in developing the halal industry in the hotel sector, in addition to sharia compliance in sharia hotels. The purpose of this research is to analyze sharia hotel marketing management: case studies at Sofyan Kalimas Hotel and Namira Hotel in Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia. Research Methods: This research uses a case study approach with a descriptive qualitative research type the researcher will directly engage in fieldwork to conduct observations and data collection. The data will be sourced from both primary and secondary data. Data collection techniques will include interviews with several informants, observations and documentation. The analysis process will begin with data collection, followed by data reduction to select key information, presentation of the data, and finally drawing conclusions. Result: The research results show that sharia hotel marketing management in stills religious values by emphasizing norms, attitudes and behaviour by applying Islamic principles, Islamic practices, Islamic rules and Islamic beliefs, both internal and external management. In internal marketing as a differentiator from conventional hotels, it adds the Islamic atmosphere variable and externally it adds Islamic brotherhood. Conclusion: Then, to improve marketing, hotel management must build relationships and collaborate with stakeholders, including the government, institutions, Islamic mass organizations which are marketing targets.

Abstract

Introduction: The development of Sharia hotel studies goes hand in hand with research on halal tourism. Sharia hotels are the latest trend in the halal industry. The concept and its implementation concerning the conformity of sharia principles has become a current research problem. This study will analyze the application of DSN-MUI fatwas and maqashid sharia at the Lor In Sharia Solo Hotel. Research Methods: The methodology used in this research is qualitative, using a field research approach. The object of this research is the management of the Lor In Sharia Solo Hotel with the DSN-MUI fatwa approach and Maqashid sharia. The purposive sampling technique determined the data source of this research. The informants in this study are managers, staff, employees, and visitors or consumers of the Lor In Sharia Solo Hotel. Research data has been collected through observation techniques, interviews, and documentation. Analysis of research data has used qualitative techniques, which include data reduction, data presentation, and concluding verification. Results: The empirical findings of this study have shown that the Lor In Sharia Solo Hotel in Solo is following the parameter indicators contained in the DSN-MUI fatwas and maqashid sharia. Conclusion: Based on the results and research findings in this article, it can be concluded that the form implementation of the two instruments in the Lor In Sharia Solo Hotel has a positive impact on the development of Islamic economic practices in Solo.

Abstract

Introduction/Main Objectives: this study wants to illustrate: (1). Analyze the development of agricultural, plantation, fishery businesses managed by Islamic boarding schools. (2) Analyze obstacles and opportunities for entrepreneurial business development developed in pesantren. (3) Analyze possible solutions developed to improve the quality of entrepreneurship that has been developed by pesantren. Research Methods: This research uses a qualitative approach. In-depth interviews and observations as data collection methods. Data analysis uses the approach used by miles and hubermen. Results: The results of this study found that; First, the development of agricultural, plantation and fishery businesses in Islamic boarding schools is still very conventional. Second, the challenge that arises is to expand the market network to market business products. Third, "Marrying" agricultural business activities that have been developed with optimal technological development.  Conclusion: Broading up market with using internet will incease the income  of Islamic Boarding School as Self-fulfillment institution.

Abstract

Introduction: The Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Group (UMKM) in Madiun City is a facility for MSME actors with a business license. The goal of this MSME group is for their efforts to achieve maximum development results. However, the MSME group's business in Madiun City still needs to develop. This can be seen from the addition of capital and the use of technology in a marketing strategy that does not make the business being run develop. Based on these problems, this study aims to test and analyze whether capital and online marketing strategies positively affect the development of MSMEs in the MSME Group in Madiun City. Research Methods: The type of research used is quantitative research with a population of 300 and a sample of 75 respondents. This study uses the Probability Sampling technique of Simple Random Sampling and data collection methods using a questionnaire/questionnaire. Statistical data analysis technique using SPSS 16.0. This research uses validity, reliability, descriptive analysis, classical assumption test, t-test, f-test, multiple linear regression, and coefficient of determination. Result: The results of this study indicate that (1) capital has a positive and significant effect on the development of MSMEs in the MSME group in Madiun City, (2) online marketing strategies have a positive and significant effect on the development of MSMEs in the MSME group in Madiun City, (3) capital and strategies Online marketing simultaneously has a positive and significant effect on the development of MSMEs in the MSME group in Madiun City. Conclusion: Based on the results of hypothesis testing, it can be concluded that the capital variable and online marketing strategy simultaneously (together) have a positive and significant effect on the development of MSMEs in the MSME group in Madiun City.

Abstract

Introduction: During the pandemic, many companies experienced a decline in profitability. One of them is what happened to companies included in the Jakarta Islamic Index (JII). During the pandemic the performance of the board of commissioners and directors could have been more optimal while the number of salaries for the board of commissioners and directors remained even increased. This can be seen from the profitability of several companies that are members of the Jakarta Islamic Index (JII), which are still below the average standard. The profitability of several companies that are members of the Jakarta Islamic Index (JII) is experiencing an imbalance. This study aims to determine the effect of the board of commissioners and directors on the profitability of companies that are members of the Jakarta Islamic Index (JII) for 2019-2021 and salary as a moderating variable. Research Methods: This study uses a population of companies that are members of the Jakarta Islamic Index (JII) for 2019-2021, using a sample of 54 companies. The type of this research is quantitative research. Meanwhile, data collection techniques use documentation and observation of the annual reports of companies that are members of the Jakarta Islamic Index (JII) for 2019-2021. Data analysis used is moderation regression analysis, classic assumption test, hypothesis testing and coefficient of determination (R2). Result: the results of this study indicate that the boards of commissioner variables affect the profitability of companies that are members of the Jakarta Islamic Index (JII) for 2019- 2021. The Directors influence the profitability of companies that are members of the Jakarta Islamic Index (JII) for 2019-2021. Meanwhile, salaries significantly moderate the influence of the board of commissioners and directors on the profitability of companies that are members of the Jakarta Islamic Index (JII) for 2019-2021. Conclusion: The results of this study indicate that the board of commissioners variables affect the profitability of companies that are members of the Jakarta Islamic Index (JII) for 2019-2021.

Abstract

Introduction: Islamic financial concept enables an integration between commercial and social finance. It has a substantial benefit for the economy. This study aims to investigate the factors that influence Muslim millenials intention to contribute toward integrated Islamic commercial and social finance (IICSF), especially in Indonesia case. Research Methods: Using modified TPB framework, primary data is collected from respondents located in Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi. Partial Least Square-Structured Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) is utilized to analyze the data. Results: The result indicates that knowledge, religiosity, attitude, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control have significant impact on Muslim millennials’ intention to contribute toward IICSF. Meanwhile, relative advantage is found to be insignificant. Conclusion: To boost the practice and implementation of IICSF, it is important to raise public knowledge, religiosity, attitude, and to increase education so society are well educated about the products. This study contributes to the limited research on integrated Islamic finance from a consumer perspective, particularly focusing on the behavioral intentions of Muslim millennials in Indonesia.

Abstract

Introduction: This study examines the importance of analyzing the halal value chain to ensure the halal assurance of every business activity to achieve sustainable halal products. MSMEs actors should apply halal principles throughout the value chain, but some MSMEs actors still have obstacles in applying halal principles to several product value chains. Research Methods: This research uses descriptive qualitative research with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation. Results: The results show that MSMEs have weaknesses in halal exit logistics and written procedures on halal product production despite strong support from the government in education, licensing, and marketing. Conclusion: For science, the results of the study play a role in enriching the theoretical knowledge of the halal value chain as a means of halal literacy. In the practical setting, a deep understanding of halal principles is a reference in strengthening the halal value chain as well as for all parties involved, namely MSMEs, suppliers, logistics service providers, government, and educators. In addition, these findings will provide an evaluation for related parties so that the implementation of the halal value chain is getting better, so that it can help encourage sustainable growth for MSMEs and advance the global halal industry.

Abstract

Introduction: This study examines the influence of financial literacy and attitudes on the financial management of FEBI IAIN Ponorogo students, with peers evaluated as a potential moderating factor. Amid increasing financial challenges in the digital era, understanding how peers influence students' financial behavior fills an important research gap. Research Methods: The research method was quantitative. The sample used was 100 respondents, obtained using the Slovin formula with a population of 2,684. The data collection technique was the use of questionnaires. Results: Financial literacy has a positive effect on financial management. Financial attitudes have a positive effect on financial management. Peers do not moderate the relationship between financial literacy and financial management. Peers cannot strengthen or weaken the relationship between financial literacy and financial management. Peers cannot strengthen or weaken the relationship between financial literacy and financial management. Conclusion: The findings highlight the importance of fostering financial literacy and positive attitudes among students, emphasizing the limited role of peers in shaping financial management behaviors.

Abstract

Introduction: Gross domestic product (GDP) is an indicator used to determine the country's economic situation shown in a certain period. The success of a country's economic growth can be seen from the country's GDP level. Research Methods: This research aims to test and analyze the influence of exchange rates and inflation on GDP in Indonesia through the mediation of Islamic mutual funds. This research uses quantitative methods using time series data, namely quarterly data for 2016-2023. Results: The results shows that the exchange rate has a positive and significant effect on GDP, inflation and Islamic mutual funds have a positive and insignificant effect on GDP, the exchange rate has a positive and significant effect on Islamic mutual funds, inflation has a negative and significant effect on Islamic mutual funds, and although mutual funds have the potential to increase GDP through investment, exchange rate depreciation and high inflation will still have a negative impact on the economy as a whole. Conclusion: Exchange rates and inflation play a crucial role in driving economic growth and the development of Islamic mutual funds. The government needs to maintain exchange rate stability through monetary and fiscal policies, as well as implement inflation control measures to preserve the public's purchasing power and investment interest.
