Abstract

Sociology is a science that studies human relations with humans. Sociology as a science that studies humans emerged later than other sciences. Max Weber as a western sociologist who has studied the eastern world as the object of his study is considered to have a lot of ethnocentric content, namely eurocentric. This has implications for the creation of a reflection of Europe, namely the east, which Weber describes eloquently. Although at first Weber tried to explain the process of change in Western Europe, but it became an object of studying the east as the other or the other of Europe. As a methodological tool, the author uses library research. In this study, the writer finds a number of identifications of entocentrism in Max Weber's sociology in primary and secondary sources. The results of this study indicate that the ethnocentrism attributed to Europe which in the course of history will lead to major problems that Weber did not calculate, such as colonialism and imperialism.

Abstract

LMS has become a very important element in learning management. The activities of students in using the LMS are stored as log data. The data can be used as an indicator to measure the performance of students and show their achievements of students. This study aims to: (1) describe the level of learning achievement of students in sociology subjects based on Moodle LMS; and (2) know the relationship between student performance in using LMS and learning achievement in sociology subjects. This study is a correlational study with a research sample of 157. The sample selection was carried out using random sampling. Student performance data was obtained from Moodle log data which was measured using the number of activity ratings developed by Sigh et al. Learning achievement data is obtained from the average test scores for the odd semester and even semester for the 2021/2022 academic year. Data analysis used descriptive analysis and Pearson product-moment correlation analysis. The results showed that the level of learning achievement of class XII students was better than students of class XI and X. The test results showed that there was a significant relationship between the performance of using LMS and learning achievement in Sociology subjects.

Abstract

Brawls between students are a very worrying problem for parents, schools, and the community. The brawl has resulted in many victims, both minor and severe injuries, even to the point of death from being hit by sharp weapons. The incident of brawls between students, of course, also disturbed the peace of the general public. Unfortunately, Indonesia has to lose the young generation to succeed in the nation's struggle in an unexpected event. This article aims to determine the function of family socialization and the role of society as social control in an effort to prevent brawls between students. Through the socialization process in children, parents can instill mutual respect for differences, tolerance, cooperation, fairness to one another, and respecting the rights of others, as well as an understanding of the joint obligations of other community members to create a calm, peaceful, and peaceful life. Peaceful and conducive. This effort can prevent teenagers from doing evil deeds such as brawls between students. Society as social control is needed as an element to avoid brawls between students. The community must instill positive values and be supported by mutually agreed rules to prevent juvenile delinquency. A morally conducive society can teach children and young people how to behave, respect differences, respect the rights of others, and carry out their obligations as members of society

Abstract

This study aims to determine the leadership spirit of sociology teachers who are members of the Sociology Subject Teacher Consultation (MGMP) in Banten Province. Previous research has shown that students' motivation and learning achievement are highly dependent on the leadership spirit of teachers and teachers have a major role in shaping students' personalities. This shows that the teacher's leadership spirit affects students' learning motivation, and this leadership spirit has an important role for students to learn, work on, and complete school assignments. This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods which are carried out to members of the Sociology MGMP of Banten Province. This research will be a reference for sociology teachers in order to grow the leadership spirit of sociology teachers. This study uses descriptive qualitative research by interviewing sociology teachers and conducting Focus Group Discussions (FGD) to formulate effective leadership training for these teachers. Researchers facilitate and analyze the needs of sociology teachers in realizing effective sociology learning.  Based on the results of the FGD and interviews, it was concluded that an effective teacher is a teacher who is able to adapt his leadership style to the situation and condition of the students. Teachers cannot only apply certain leadership patterns without paying attention to the needs of their students, effective teachers are adaptive teachers and can see situations and conditions when to be authoritarian and when to be democratic.

Abstract

The existence of Campus E UNTIRTA in Sindangsari Village certainly provides many  changes to the community. The impact of the existence of the E UNTIRTA campus giving a very visible change is a change in the economic situation of the surrounding population. This increase in income for the population is expected to have an impact, especially in the form of changes in the attitude of life of the population regarding the education of the people of Sindangsari Village. Of course, the existence of Campus E UNTIRTA will provide a source of income for the area around the campus to be an option for residents to fulfill their living needs and carry out livelihood strategies for their households. The research method applied is qualitative with descriptive method where this research will reveal cases and phenomena of the construction of the E UNTIRTA campus that affect the livelihood strategies of the community around the E UNTIRTA campus area as well as the socio-economic changes of the community which are revealed in depth to study the background, circumstances , and the interactions that occur. Abstract

The aim to be accomplished in writing this article is 1). To find out how audio-visual learning media is practiced in Sociology subjects based on behavioristic theories of behaviorists, 2). To know how learners' behavior changes make use of the learning media during the learning process in the classroom. 3). To see if learners are becoming more interested in Sociology materials or otherwise. The study uses qualitative descriptive research methods and observations with a class action research model and interviews in-depth learners to supplement the study data needs. The subject of this study is a 10-grade learner of the social science program at SMAN 2 Serang city. The result of this study was that learners who learned by using the audio-visual medium tended to change their behavior better in processing the Sociology subject taught by the teacher in the class. To demonstrate such conduct requires repetition in utilizing the medium of study in Sociology subjects.

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to analyze the phenomenon of Covid-19 vaccine rejection among Indonesia society which occurred in the midst of Covid-19 pandemic. This research uses qualitative approach by employing secondary data related to the phenomenon of Covid-19 vaccine rejection. This article itself brings the concept of social action offered by Max Weber as a conceptual framework. The main finding of this research is that there are various reasons behind the phenomenon of Covid-19 vaccine rejection. Those reasons portray the rich variety of meanings which also mean that there are many socio-cultural contexts behind it. Therefore, we need the appropriate strategy to face such phenomenon. Thus, the goals of Covid-19 vaccine promotion could be reached well.

Abstract

Farming is one of the jobs that used to be the main job for the people of Indonesia, especially people who live in villages, but this time the existence of farmers has decreased with the times. Villagers, especially youths, prefer to migrate to work in cities to get jobs that have a better income than working as farmers. This study aims to determine: (1) why the younger generation in Bocor Village does not choose to become farmers as a profession and (2) how migration is an alternative way for young people in Bocor Village to advance their careers. In this study, the method used is qualitative with a phenomenological approach. The results obtained from this study are that young people in the village want a better economic change than their families, so they hope that migrating can improve the economics of their families, compared to farmers whose income only depends on uncertain harvests. Migrating is also an option because, for young people who have just graduated from school, it is complicated to find a job because of the condition of the village that there are very few jobs and the Regency Minimum Wage (UMK) in the town is very small

Abstract

The realization of "Student Well Being" in schools is one of the important programs in an effort to improve education services during the recovery period of the education world after our country was hit by a pandemic. Various efforts have been made by the government, such as the implementation of the Independent Learning Curriculum as stated in the Decree of the Ministry of Education and Culture No. 56 of 2022. This research was conducted on teachers of SMA Negeri 1 Talun in order to improve their professional competence. The method used in this study is the School Action Research (PTS) method. This research is divided into three cycles. Based on the results of data analysis in cycle 1, teacher competence on differentiation learning increased from pre-cycle. It is evident from the results of the pre-test which averaged 5.8 and the post-test increased to 8.8 with an average increase of 2.95% in value. Teacher competence is also proven in the application of field supervision in cycle 2 even though it is still not fully said to be successful because of the 64 teachers as research subjects, there are 38 people or about 59% who still have not implemented differentiated learning well. After the improvement and strengthening of teachers, only in cycle 3 the research can be said to be successful because there are 53 teachers or about 83% successful, while there are 4 teachers whose competence in implementing differentiated learning is very good if the percentage is around 6%, the remaining 7 teachers or about 11% which shows poor competence. From the results of observations of the level of well being shown by students in differentiated learning, it was found that there were 35 teaching teachers or about 55% whose students in the class could show very good Well Being. Meanwhile, there are 22 teaching teachers (34%) whose students can show quite well being during the teaching and learning process. Furthermore, there are 7 teachers (11%) who when teaching in class their students are not good at showing their well being. Thus the results of this study can be used as a positive recommendation for the realization of Student well Being in schools as in the contents of the Independent Learning Curriculum.

Abstract

This study aims to find a description of the creative cognitive process abilities of students in learning citizenship, through virtual contextual constructive learning. The research uses a qualitative approach with classroom action research methods, based on online learning via whatsapp, zoom meeting/google meet and google classroom. The research subjects were first semester students at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Islam Nusantara who took Citizenship Education courses. The research method used is action research with a practical action research model / classroom action research. The indicators for measuring creative cognitive processes include: the ability to identify, formulate problems and create hypotheses to solve problems, the ability to plan realistic solutions, and the ability to construct knowledge by mapping the content of appropriate concepts in learning outcomes. The results showed that contextual constructive learning through virtual learning could develop the creative cognitive process ability of level 1 students in learning citizenship, with a "good" score (77.3 %). This result is not optimal, if it is associated with the ideal value standard of "very good" (85 - 100%). This is found to be lacking in some grade I students in generating creative ideas, namely: students lack high confidence in the truth of their thoughts, if they do not see the internet, do not spontaneously express rationalization of their thinking abilities, express their thinking ideas only imitate other people's statements, have not been able to explain in detail and coherently on the problem and do not elaborate on the problem solving given, less explore literature sources as a reference for thinking in giving birth to problem solving ideas.
