Abstract

Jatropha curcas L.) is one of the vegetation that produces energy and is often used as biodiesel in an effort to reduce the use of fossil energy that has limited reserves, cannot be renewed (Unrenewable) and has emissions of combustion gases (pollutants) that cause environmental impacts such as the greenhouse gas effect and affect air quality. This experiment was carried out at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Winaya Mukti University, Sumedang Regency. The altitude of the place is 850 m above sea level. The trial time is from September to October 2022. The purpose of the experiment was to study the interaction between FMA dosing and cytokinin concentration against increasing growth of IP-3P cultivar jatropha plants in medium plains and obtain the best FMA dosing treatment and cytokinin concentration on IP-3P cultivar jatropha plant growth in medium plains. The study used a randomized group design (RAK) factorial pattern, which consisted of two factors, namely FMA dose with levels: 0 g, 5 g, 10 g, 15 g, 20 g and cytokinin concentrations with levels: 0 MgL-1, 150 MgL-1, 300 MgL-1, 450 MgL-1, 600 MgL-1. Each treatment factor consists of 5 levels. Each treatment is repeated twice, then the total amount of 5 x 5 x 2 = 50 plots. The results of the experiment showed an interaction between FMA dosing and cytokinin concentration on the constraint parameters of the stomata, the number of leaves and the diameter of the stem. It was found that the treatment of FMA dose level f3 (15 grams) gave the best results on the parameters of mycorrhizal colonization, leaf chlorophyll, plant height, number of leaves, number of lateral branches, and root weight + FMA. In the treatment of cytokinin concentration level s3 gave the best results on the parameters of mycorrhizal colonization, leaf chlorophyll, as well as the number of leaves

Abstract

One of the strategy to increase people's interest in choosing to consume hydroponic vegetables is to provide a sense of satisfaction to consumers. Good product quality, affordable prices, and excellent service can all contribute to customer satisfaction with hydroponic vegetables. The purpose of this study is to investigate the ways in which Paser Hydroponics' customer satisfaction can be significantly impacted by factors such as product quality, price, and service. This sort of exploration is quantitative elucidating investigation and utilizations the Unintentional Testing inspecting procedure. This study used primary data with a lemeshow formula (for an unknown population) sample size of 97 individuals. In this study, multiple linear regression analysis was used as the method of analysis. The study's results show that the coefficient of determination (R2) is 0.623 (62.3%), it shows that there is a relationship between each independent variable. The results of simultaneous regression analysis or F-test show that product quality, price and service significantly influence consumer satisfaction, while partial or T-test shows that the price variable is not significant on consumer satisfaction.

Abstract

This research highlights the importance of rice plants for humans, especially in the context of the use of agricultural inputs in Rantau Panjang Village, such as seeds, pesticides, fertilizers, labor, as well as natural elements such as climate and geographical location, all of which influence the decline in rice production. The aim of this research is to analyze the influence and effectiveness of labor, fertilizer, seeds, pesticides and other production variables on rice growth in rainfed rice fields. This research uses a quantitative descriptive approach by utilizing production data and the number of production factors used. Data analysis was carried out using the natural logarithm function (Ln) in the Cobb-Douglas model. The analysis results show that the influence of labor on production is 0.286>0.05, the influence of pesticides is 0.201>0.05, while the influence of seeds is 0.000<0.05, and the influence of fertilizer is 0.003<0.05. The average efficiency level of production components is at 0.29 or 0<0.29<1, which indicates that farmers need to increase the utilization of production components by 71%. These findings indicate that labor and pesticides have little influence on rice production, while the use of chemical fertilizers and seeds have a significant influence. In short, rice production is highly influenced by the use of chemical fertilizers and seeds, while labor and pesticides have a lesser impact. Low technological efficiency in rice cultivation in coastal areas results in the use of less pesticides, but requires more labor, fertilizer, seeds and other production inputs. Therefore, it is important to provide training and guidance to farmers regarding better agricultural techniques and the use of relevant technology so that efficiency can be increased. Thus, it is hoped that rice production can increase without increasing production costs significantly.

Abstract

Spodoptera frugiperda is a new invasive insect in Indonesia that has become a main pest of corn plants. This pest attacks the whole living stages of corn plants from the vegetative to the generative phase and causes major damage in the vegetative phase. This research aims for the utilisation of a biological control agent, namely the entomopathogenic fungus Beauveria bassiana, to control armyworm pests (S. frugiperda) on corn plants. Application of B. bassiana was carried out on S. frugiperda with concentrations of 106, 107, 108, 109 and 1010 conidia/ml with the amount of 10 ml/treatment. The results showed that the highest mortality rate for S. frugiperda in treatment 1010 reached approximately 33% and the LC50 probit analysis had a value of 1.17 X 108. Symptoms of death in S. frugiperda caused by B. bassiana can be seen from changes in the color and shape of the insect's body, which is a sign of infection by this fungus.

Abstract

Multidimensional Scaling (MDS) is a procedure used to map respondents' perceptions or preferences, often utilizing two-dimensional visuals. The significance of MDS analysis lies in its ability to reveal the proximities between various products, which can serve as a foundation for determining the best strategies for market survival. In this study, the proximities of four instant coffee brands (Kopi Gadjah, Kopi Kapten, Kopi Neo, Kopi Obor) were analyzed. The objectives of this study were: 1) To determine the positioning or competitive market position among the four instant coffee products based on students' perceptions when considering a purchase of instant coffee, and 2) To identify the most superior instant coffee among the four according to student perceptions. This research used a survey method and was analyzed quantitatively. The sampling was carried out using the purposive sampling method, with 42 students from the State Polytechnic of Pontianak as the sample. The MDS method was employed to determine the position of each instant coffee brand. The results of the MDS an  alysis indicated that the distance between Kopi Kapten and Kopi Obor was close, assuming that respondents perceived these two brands to have many similarities. If the proximity of the instant coffee brands reflects the level of competition, Kopi Kapten and Kopi Obor exhibited a high level of competition. In contrast, Kopi Gadjah and Kopi Neo did not directly compete with Kopi Kapten or Kopi Obor. Based on proximity to product attributes, Kopi Gadjah was identified as the most superior instant coffee among the four brands.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of providing People's Business Credit (KUR) by Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) Kanrung Unit, Sinjai Branch on increasing the income of clove farmers in Sinjai Tengah District, Sinjai Regency. The population of this study was taken by simple random or Sample Random Sampling. For the number of samples in this study amounted to 30 respondents. In this study the authors used descriptive quantitative research and the data sources used were primary data and secondary data. The analysis techniques used are validity test, reliability test, simple linear regression and hypothesis testing. The results of this study indicate that the provision of People's Business Credit has a positive and significant effect on increasing community income because the tcount value is obtained at 8.662 and the ttable is 2.048 with a significance level of 0.000. Because the tcount value is greater than the ttable with a significance of less than 0.05 (5%), because the significance level is less than 0.05, the provision of People's Business Credit from Bank Rakyat Indonesia Kanrung Unit, Sinjai Branch has a positive and significant effect on increasing the income of clove farmers in Saotengnga Village, Sinjai Regency.Keywords: Sweet Potato, Variety, Source of Potassium.

Abstract

Interest of Planters in Processing Arabica Coffee into Green Beans in Marancar District, South Tapanuli Regency, North Sumatra Province.  The aim of this study is to examine the level of interest of growers in processing Arabica coffee into green beans and the factors that influence growers' interest in processing Arabica coffee into green beans in Marancar District, South Tapanuli Regency from April to May 2024. Data collection methods namely interviews, observations, documentation, and questionnaires using questionnaires that have been tested for validity and reliability.  The sample determination method uses proportional random sampling.  Next, the data analysis method uses a Likert scale and multiple linear regression.  The results of the study show that the level of interest of growers in processing Arabica coffee into green beans in Maranccar District is 83.48% in the high category.  Furthermore, the results of multiple linear regression analysis show the factors that influence growers' interest in processing Arabica coffee into green beans in Marancar District, namely formal education, the role of instructors, selling prices, and marketing.

Abstract

Shallot plants experienced a decrease in production due to low soil fertility. Efforts to increase shallot productivity are through intensive land management. This research aims to determine the growth response and yield of shallot plants at various doses of rice husk biochar and cow manure fertilizer. The research method used was field research with a RCBD with two factors + 1 control. The first factor was the dosage of rice husk biochar which consists of 3 levels, namely 10 tons/ha, 20 tons/ha, and 30 tons/ha. The second factor was the dose of cow manure fertilizer which consists of 3 levels, namely 10 tons/ha, 20 tons/ha, and 30 tons/ha. Data were analyzed using the ANOVA method at the 5% level and further tested with the DMRT at the 5% level. To compare the treatment with the control, an orthogonal contrast test was carried out. The results showed that the combination treatment with rice husk biochar and cow manure fertilizer didn’t significantly different from the control treatment for all parameters. Combination of rice husk biochar and cow manure fertilizer had an interaction on the number of tillers aged 28, 42 and 56 DAP, number of tubers, wet weight of tubers per hill, and sundry weight per hill. Treatment with a rice husk biochar dose of 1,92 kg/plot gave the best results at plant height parameters of 42 and 56 DAP, and number of leaves at 56 DAP. Treatment with a dose of cow manure fertilizer of 1,92 kg/plot gave the best results in the parameters of plant height at 14 and 28 DAP, number of tillers per hill at 42 and 56 DAP, number of tubers per hill, tuber diameter, wet weight of tubers per hill, and dry weight in the sun tubers per hill.

Abstract

Curly red chili pepper (Capsicum annum L.) is one of the horticultural commodities with high economic value for development. One effort to increase the production yield of curly red chili plants is by using the growth regulator Paclobutrazol. Paclobutrazol is a growth regulator that can inhibit vegetative growth and stimulate generative growth in plants, such as flower formation and fruit development. The aim of this research was to determine the response and the appropriate concentration of the growth regulator Paclobutrazol on the growth and yield of curly red chili (Capsicum annum L.). This study was conducted in Bangka Leda Village, Langke Rembong District, Manggarai Regency, for 5 months, from April 2024 to August 2024. The study used a randomized block design consisting of one factor, namely Paclobutrazol concentration, with 6 treatment levels. The treatments used were P0 = No Paclobutrazol, P1 = Paclobutrazol concentration of 200 ppm/liter of water, P2 = Paclobutrazol concentration of 300 ppm/liter of water, P3 = Paclobutrazol concentration of 400 ppm/liter of water, P4 = Paclobutrazol concentration of 500 ppm/liter of water, and P5 = Paclobutrazol concentration of 600 ppm/liter of water. The observational data obtained in this study were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). If the results showed significant effects, they would be followed by an Honest Significant Difference (HSD) test at a 5% level. The results of the study indicated that the application of various concentrations of Paclobutrazol growth regulator had significant effects on parameters such as plant height (inhibiting plant height), number of branches (inhibiting the number of branches), flowering time, harvest time, number of fruits, and fresh fruit weight of curly red chili plants. The application of Paclobutrazol growth regulator at a concentration of 600 ppm/liter of water (P5) was able to inhibit plant height and the number of branches, while providing optimum results for generative growth, such as 50% flowering time (days), harvest time (days), number of fruits (pieces), and fresh fruit weight (g) of curly red chili plants.

Abstract

Jagung manis menjadi salah satu tanaman yang banyak diminati oleh masyarakat Indonesia. Namun, memiliki kendala di lapangan, salah satunya adalah pengaruh faktor abiotik seperti kekeringan. Pengaplikasian kondisi kekeringan dan pemberian Kalium diperlukan untuk mengurangi resiko pada saat tanaman mengalami kondisi tersebut. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh kondisi kekeringan, pemberian Kalium dan interaksi keduanya terhapat hasil dan kualitas jagung manis. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan perlakuan cekaman kekeringan 2 taraf dan pemberian Kalium 3 taraf. Setiap perlakuan diulang 3 kali, sehingga 18 unit percobaan. Parameter yang diamati adalah berat tongkol tidak berkelobot, diameter tongkol tidak berkelobot, panjang tongkol tidak berkelobot dan kadar gula. Hasil Analisis Sidik Ragam yang nyata, maka dilanjutkan dengan uji Beda Nyata Jujur (BNJ) pada taraf 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa interaksi cekaman kekeringan dan pemberian Kalium terlihat pada parameter Diameter tongkol tidak berkelobot. Diameter tongkol tidak berkelobot berkorelasi positif terhadap paraemter berat tongkol tidak berkelobot, panjang tolongkol tidak berkelobot dan kadar gula. Interaksi terbaik terdapat pada perlakuan A1K3 yaitu Cukup air + 3,4 g K2O.
