Abstract

Postpartum stage starts once the baby was delivered and lasts until the genital area reverts to its pre-pregnancy condition. This process was referred as uterine involution. The speed of uterine involution is influenced by the walking stage, nutritional condition, age, number of pregnancies, and breastfeeding situation. Jujubes are rich in vitamins including riboflavin, biotin, thiamine, folic acid, and ascorbic acid, in addition to calcium, iron, copper, cobalt, magnesium, fluoride, manganese, phosphorus, and potassium. Expectant mothers are recommended to consume jujubes during the later phases of pregnancy to boost oxytocin levels and enhance uterine contractions post-delivery. Higher levels of maternal oxytocin following delivery may affect uterine contractions. Proper control of uterine contractions can ensure that postpartum uterine involution occurs smoothly and that uterine atony is prevented. The purpose of this research was to assess the impact of date consumption on uterine involution in mothers after childbirth. This was a quasi-experimental research with a post-test design that included a control group. The participants in the study comprised 30 mothers who had recently given birth. Participants divided into two groups: the intervention group that consumed dates fruit and the control group that did not consume dates. Results showed that there was a difference in the average uterine involution of those who consume dates and those who did not consume dates. The group that consumes dates tends have a faster uterine involution process compared to the group of respondents who do not consume dates. Suggestions to postpartum women to consume dates after delivery.

Abstract

Stunted was a major nutrition problem in Indonesia. Obesity caused metabolic changes caused by endothelial dysfunction and oxidative stress mechanisms defined by waist size, HDL, triglycerides, calm blood glucose, and blood pressure. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between stubborn obesity and metabolic syndrome in female adolescents. Study design was case control with 150 students in the Banyuma district. Subject selection was performed using multistage random samples. The case group was 75 students who inhibited obesity, and the control group was 75 students with stunted and non-attended. Determine nutritional status by measuring size, weight and waist size. Metabolic syndrome was determined using three criteria: obesity, blood glucose level above 100 mg/dL, and lipid profile. Triglyceride levels ≥150 mg/dL and HDL levels ≤ 0 mg/dL; Data were analyzed on a descriptive test for univariate analysis and a Chi-square test for determining relationships. The mean values of HDL levels (39.80 ± 3.96 mg/dL), fasting blood sugar (112.6 ± 8.75 mg/dL), and triglycerides (102.34 ± 17.54 mg/dL) in the case group were higher than the mean values in the control group. There is a relationship between Stunted obesity and the incidence of metabolic syndrome in adolescents with ρ = 0.0479. This indicates that there is a higher risk of experiencing metabolic syndrome in the case group.

Abstract

Anemia during pregnancy is often referred to as a "potential danger to mother and child," meaning it poses a significant risk to both. The effects of anemia during pregnancy include hemorrhage, miscarriage, and preterm birth. In fetuses, it can lead to neonatal death, low birth weight, and heart disease. In Indonesia, the prevalence of anemia is 48.9%. Pregnant women are advised to consume at least 90 iron (Fe) tablets throughout pregnancy. Proper consumption of iron tablets involves avoiding tea and coffee while taking them, as these beverages can inhibit iron absorption. Factors influencing anemia include compliance with iron tablet consumption and the frequency of antenatal care visits. This study aims to examine the role of Posyandu (Integrated Health Post) in supporting the integration of primary healthcare services to prevent anemia during pregnancy. It employed qualitative research method and involved research participants, including key informants (midwives and health cadres) and supporting informants (pregnant women). Data were collected using a purposive sampling technique and in-depth interviews, with interview guidelines and a voice recorder as research instruments. Data analysis followed several stages: data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that Posyandu plays a crucial role in preventing anemia during pregnancy at Puskesmas (Community Health Center) Berbah. Its roles include encouraging antenatal care visits, promoting Posyandu attendance, providing health and nutrition education, detecting anemia risk early among pregnant women, referring cases to healthcare facilities, and monitoring behavioral compliance.
