Abstract

The phenomenon of third language acquisition has spread rapidly in recent decades, as one of the multifaceted effects of the current era of globalization. In a world where multilinguals outnumber monolinguals, the study of third language (L3) acquisition has become an area of ​​interest for many researchers. This article aims to provide an overview of reviews of several studies regarding third language acquisition.A systematic review method was used in this study, based on research questions that govern which studies will be included for review. This study aims to investigate research trends on third language acquisition. The results of this research show that several studies after 2020 only focused on transfer errors due to cross-linguistic influences at the morphosyntactic level.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the ability to write advertisement text for deaf students in class X SMALB Negeri 1 Jambi City using the Canva application. The approach in this research is a quantitative approach and the type of research used in this research is descriptive. Data collection techniques in this study were observation, interviews, and performance tests in the form of writing ad text tests using the Canva application which were carried out by students. Data analysis in this study included assessing student work as assessed by two assessors, namely assessor I (Indonesian teacher), and assessor II (researcher) accompanied by a table to calculate the average student writing results. The results showed that the ability of deaf students in class X SMALB Negeri 1 Jambi City in writing advertisement text using the Canva application could be categorized as very capable, with an average score of 89.6. Evaluation of the elements of the theme gets an average score of 100, which means that students are very capable in developing advertising themes. Elements of advertising content obtain an average value of 84.3, indicating the ability of students to convey capable advertising content. Sentence structure elements obtained an average score of 82.8, indicating that students were able to compose adequate sentences. Evaluation of the spelling element resulted in an average score of 85.7, indicating that students were very capable in terms of spelling. Meanwhile, the appearance element obtained an average value of 95.00, indicating that students were very capable of presenting advertisements with an attractive appearance.

Abstract

Research with the title pragmatic study: Analysis of Existential Presuppositions on Raffi Ahmad and Nagita Slavina's Vlogs on the RANS Entertainment YouTube Channel. The aims of this study are: (1) to find out the existential presuppositions contained in vlogs, (2) to identify existential presuppositions contained in vlogs, and (3) to analyze existential presuppositions contained in Raffi Ahmad and Nagita Slavina's vlogs on the RANS Entertainment YouTube channel with using (George Yule's theory in Dia, 2012). The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. The source of the data in this study is speech contained in vlogs on the RANS Entertainment YouTube channel, while the research data is in the form of grammatical units in the form of words, phrases or sentences that contain existential presuppositions. This research instrument uses a documentation study. Data collection techniques in this study used documentation analysis techniques, while data analysis used in this study was descriptive analysis techniques. The results of this study analyze the existential presuppositions contained in Raffi Ahmad and Nagita Slavina's vlogs on RANS Entertainment's YouTube channel.

Abstract

Ethnosemiotics studies how meaning is interpreted within a culture. The purpose of this study is to characterise the use of ethnosemiotic theories and identify their problematic elements. A review of the literature is part of this research process. This study examines five publications that address ethnoemiotics. Reputable publications, national journals, international seminar proceedings, and dissertation research have all published the five chosen articles. The findings demonstrate that ethnosemiotics is not only regarded as a single, cohesive theory but also that some people employ it as a methodology. In addition, a number of studies view ethnosemiotics as a theory that emerges from the fusion of semiotic theory with other theories including ethnolinguistics, ethnography, and ethnology.

Abstract

This research aims to describe errors in language use, especially in the area of phonology, in students' essays at SD N 1 Jojo. The method used in this research is qualitative narrative. The data comes from a narrative essay entitled "Analysis of Phonological Errors in Elementary School N 1 Jojo Students' Essays with the theme of heroes" written by fourth grade students at SD N 1 Jojo. Data collection techniques are obtained using documentation techniques which are obtained by documenting student essays. Data analysis uses analytical techniques with the Miles and Huberman model, which is interactive and continues until completion. The results of the research showed that there were 30% phonological errors in the essays of SD N 1 Jojo students with the theme of heroes. The phonological errors that we analyze include errors in using capital letters in the first letters of holidays 5%, errors in writing compositions of words in sentences 5%, errors in spelling words in sentences 5%, errors in using inappropriate prepositions 5%, errors in using inappropriate conjunctions 5%, and discrepancy in the pronunciation of sounds 5%.

Abstract

The rapid development of language not only has an impact on its use but also has an impact on changes in the meaning of words. Therefore, currently changes in meaning appear in various types, one of which is associative meaning. Associative meaning is defined as the meaning of a word that correlates with the context outside the language. Associative meaning consists of connotative meaning, stylistic meaning, effective meaning, collocative meaning and reflective meaning. This research aims to reveal whether or not there is associative meaning in the songs contained in the mini album lose bets by Nadin Amizah, this is also the research data used in this research using documentation type data collection techniques as well as reading and note taking. The results of the analysis concluded that the mini album losing bets by Nadin Amizah contained 23 data with associative meanings. The types of associative meaning include 9 data containing connotative meaning which is also interpreted as figurative meaning, 3 data containing collocative meaning because they relate to a word that was born from another word in the same context, 6 data containing stylisti meaning because they relate to the style of word choice. or social differences, 1 data contains a reflective meaning because it causes an automatic reaction so that it forms another meaning and the last is an effective meaning of 1 data because it reflects emotions related to something that is heard or discussed. The researcher then described these data using qualitative descriptive research.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to answer how the application of TikTok as an ICT-based learning media on lecture text material using the discovery learning method. This research is a qualitative research in descriptive study. The data sources of this research were obtained from interviews, observations, and documentation. The technique of taking informants is random sampling. Data collection techniques are triangulated. Data analysis techniques are carried out with three stages, namely reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the application of the TikTok application can be done by making video lessons of lecture material and uploading them in general. Thus students can listen to lecture text material through their respective TikTok and can repeat the material anytime and anywhere.

Abstract

Language contact in social interaction in bilingual communities in Trenggalek district, especially in Miri hamlet, Mlinjon village, is an interesting phenomenon to be studied from a sociolinguistic perspective. Miri Hamlet is one of the areas in Trenggalek Regency with a remote geographical location category. The majority of the Miri hamlet community are bilingual people who master Javanese and Indonesian as a means of communication. This study uses a survey method with a quantitative approach. The source of data in this study is the local community and the data selected is a form of language variation that has undergone a shift. This phenomenon has a correlation not only with aspects of language, but also with socio-cultural aspects. This study aims to describe 1) the form of Javanese language shift in the family domain and 2) the influence of socio-cultural factors on the Javanese language shift in Miri hamlet. The results of this study indicate that (1) there is a shift in the use of the Javanese Krama language in communication between families in Miri hamlet (2) the factors causing the language shift include the influence of social media and the level of public awareness of the preservation of Javanese culture.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the phenomenon of social reality and education of children with visual disabilities in the novel "Children of Light" by Ramaditya Adikara and the relationship between literary works and real life using Mimetic theory and Literary Sociology approach. This study used a type of qualitative descriptive research. The source of this research is the novel Children of Light by Ramaditya Adikara by taking words, sentences, dialogues and paragraphs containing social and educational reality. The data collection technique used is by reading and recording techniques, as well as supporting data obtained from interviews to find out the social and educational picture of children with visual disabilities both in literary and real life works. The results of this study are a picture of social and educational reality, namely: (1) a picture of social reality regarding an attitude of affection, an attitude of togetherness, an attitude of caring, an attitude of tolerance, and an attitude of help. (2) a picture of educational realities such as Democratic, hard work, independent, religious and responsibility. These images are in the novel "Children of Light" which has a connection with the reflection of real life of blind disabled children in society. So it can be concluded that literary works have a relationship with real life or reality.

Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim of exploring the effectiveness of using the problem based learning model on Indonesian language learning outcomes for student in grade IX E at SMPN 1 Diwek, Jombang Regency. Researchers found problems in Indonesian language learning implemented by teachers which were still conventional, this factor also had the potential to influence student learning achievement thus, the learning model needs to be updated to achieve success in implementing teaching and learning activities. This research is a qualitative study using field methods, where researchers are directly involved in observations, both regarding the teaching and learning process and conditions in the school. The data collection methods applied include observation, interviews and documentation. The research subjects were students in class IX E at SMPN 1 Diwek Jombang with a total of 31 students and Indonesian language teachers in class IX E. Data analysis in this research included the stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of this research are that after implementing the problem based learning model on class IX E students, students showed increased contextual understanding through active participation in problem solving, critical thinking, analyzing problems collaboratively, student involvement in increasing their motivation and involvement in the process of learning Indonesian language By implementing a problem-based learning model, it is very effectively implemented in class IX E of SMPN 1 Diwek Jombang.
