Abstract

Kuersetin merupakan senyawa golongan falvonoid yang memiliki aktivitas antioksidan dan antiinflamasi yang tinggi. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendapatkan hasil formula yang baik, mengetahui efektivitas gel kuersetin sebagai obat luka sayat pada kelinci, dan mendapatkan penetrasi kuersetin yang baik. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan cara mengevaluasi fisik gel meliputi uji organoleptik, homogenitas, pH, viskositas, dan daya sebar, hasil dianalisis menggunakan analisis deskriptif dan one-way ANOVA. Pengujian efektivitas luka sayat menggunakan kelinci dan dibagi menjadi 4 kelompok percobaan, hasil dianalisis menggunakan analisis deskripif dan kruskal-wallis. Pengujian penetrasi gel menggunakan membran kulit kelinci, hasil dianalisis menggunakan uji t. Hasil evaluasi organoleptik dan homogenitas tidak ada perubahan selama waktu penyimanan 3 minggu, pH 5,00-5,20, viskositas 28,00-28,76 Pa.s, dan daya sebar 5,77-5,87 cm. Hasil analisis efektivitas gel terhadap luka sayat yaitu 0,002 (p<0,05). Hasil penetrasi gel pada kulit normal: kulit luka adalah 62,45%: 75,51%, hasil analisis yaitu 0,003 (p<0,05). Formula gel kuersetin yang dihasilkan stabil selama penyimpanan 3 minggu pada suhu ruang (±25°-30°C), serta memiliki aktivitas dan penetrasi yang baik terhadap penyembuhan luka sayat pada kelinci.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of citric acid-glucose based microwave assited extraction (MAE) method on total polyphenols content from (Peperomia pellucida [L.] Kunth) herbs. Dried samples were extracted using green solvent glucose citric acid with a ratio of 1: 1 g/g, 3: 1 g/g, and 5: 1 g/g, respectively, 30% microwave power for 5 minutes, and 1:5 g /mL solid-liquid ratio. Then the obtained extract solution was performed determination total polyphenols content using Folin-Ciocalteu reagent, and the absorbance was measured using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer at 791 nm. Based on the results, obtained total polyphenols content according to the extraction condition namely 214.405 mg GAE/g sample (3: 1 g /g solvent), 84.833 mg GAE /g sample (1: 1 g /g solvent) and 53,9451 mg GAE/g sample (5: 1 g /g solvent), respectively. This study is a preliminary data about the use of citric acid-glucose based microwave assisted extraction method on total polyphenols content from this plant quickly, easily and efficiently.

Abstract

Pineapple skin (Ananas comosus L.Merr) has been known to have a category of strong antioxidant activity against reducing DPPH compounds (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl). However, references to the preparation process of extract concentration making and the treatment of DPPH compounds to extracts are not much elaborated, so that it can cause errors in inferring the category of antioxidant activity. The purpose of this study was to determine the results of antioxidant activity through the treatment of preparation techniques for the concentration of pineapple peel extract concentration. Pineapple peel extract (Ananas comosus L. Merr) was prepared by maceration method using 70% ethanol solvent. Testing of antioxidant activity was carried out using the UV-Vis spectrophotometric method at a wavelength of 516.4 nm. The extract concentration to be tested was 500 ?g/mL, 250 ?g/mL, 125 ?g/mL, 62.5 ?g/mL and 31.25 ?g/mL and the concentration of DPPH compounds (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl) was 45 ?g/mL. Treat the extract making concentration divided into 3 namely P1 (multilevel dilution with a volume ratio of 1: 1) P2 (normal dilution with a volume ratio of 1: 1) and P3 (DPPH solution is used to suffice the volume of the extracted test extract). The results of percent inhibitors from each treatment of making concentrations showed P1 <P2, P1 <P3, P2 <P3, and IC50 of each treatment were P1 268.07 ?g/mL, P2 was 231.28 ?g/mL, P3 was 78.403 ?g/mL. Based on the results of IC50 P3 gives the category of antioxidant activity that is 78,403.Keywords: pineapple fruit skin (Ananas comosus L. Abstract

Kaffir Lime leaves (Citrus hystrix) often used for various treatments and also for cosmetics. One of the benefits of lime leaves in cosmetics is Sunscreen. The purpose of this study is to determine the activity of sunscreen and the category of sunscreen. The value %Te, %Tp, and Spf can be seen from the results of the calculation. The method is used by maceration. Then, the measurements using an UV spectrophotometer. At concentration of 100 ppm, 200 ppm, 300 ppm, 400 ppm and 500 ppm. At wavelengths of 292,5 - 372,5 nm for measurements of values % Te and % Tp. While for SPF values at wavelengths of 290 - 320 nm. The best results obtained were at concentration of 500 ppm, with a value of % Te 1,78 which is an extra protection category and the value of % Tp 1,27 which is the sunblock category, and the value of SPF 16 which is the ultra category.

Abstract

Aloe vera has the potential to increase hair growth rate and sun protection so it is suitable to be formulated in serum. The purpose of this study was to produce a serum formula that meets the standards and produce a serum that has an effect in increasing hair growth rate and sun protection.This study was conducted to make aloe vera serum formula in third variation of the active substance and do a physical evaluation. Data from the physical evaluation test results and for hair growth and sun protection using analyzed statistic. The test results aloe vera serum organopetic clear white with a thick consistency and oleum rosae fragrance. Aloe vera serum have a homogenity dispersion with a viscosity of between 0.023 to 0.058 (Pa.s), the pH value between 5.7 to 6.1 and the spreadability between 6-7 cm. Aloe vera serum is stable for 3 weeks storage at room temperature. Aloe vera serum seen qualitative and quantitative has the effect of hair growth that is equivalent to the positive control (minoxidil) in the treatment for 21 days, and sun protection don’t have effect.

Abstract

Bipolar disorder is a chronic mood disorder characterized by episodes of mania or hypomania that occur alternately or mixed with depressive episodes. This study aims to determine the characteristics of bipolar patients and patterns of drug use inpatient and outpatient bipolar patients at Atma Husada Mahakam Hospital. The type of this research is non experimental (descriptive) and done retrospectively. Data are collected from medical record. Research subjects were 84 inpatients and 137 outpatients with bipolar disorder diagnosis. Data are analyzed by describing research's objects. The results were obtained from inpatient and outpatient data showing 63% and 60% female sex, showing 26-35 years (early adulthood), not working, not married, and high school level education. The most usage pattern of drugs is a combination of 2 and 3 drugs, namely 74.99% for inpatient care and 73.71% for outpatient treatment. The drugs most commonly used are mood stabilizers (valproate acid) and atypical antipsychotics (risperidone).

Abstract

Acute myocardial infarction is a major health problem that needs special attention because of the mortality prevalence and costs is quite high. Generally caused by plaque rupture and thrombus of coronary arteries so that the oxygen-containing blood supply is reduced to the myocardium. The purpose of this study was to determine the characteristics of acute myocardial infarction patients and acutemiokardial infarction drug use pattern at Abdul Wahab Sjahranie Hospital, Samarinda City in the January-December 2018 period. This study was a non-experimental study with a retrospective method and analyzed descriptively. Sampling using a purposive sampling method. The results of the most characteristic study were obtained in patients with acute myocardial infarction in men, namely 7,4%, age characteristics 46-55 years 37,1%, private work 48,6%, and high school education 47,1%. The most treatment pattern used in STEMI patients out of 32 patients was Nitrate + DAPT + Anticoagulant + ACE-I + Statin for 6 patients (18.7%) and the most treatment pattern used in NSTEMI patients out of 38 patients was Nitrate + DAPT + Anticoagulant + ß-Blocker + Statins in 7 patients (18.4%). The use of most drugs ISDN (antiangina) as much as 90%, morphine and petidine (potency analgesic) 8.6%, aspirin (antiplatelet) 84.3%, fondaparinuks (anticoagulants) 68.6% and streptokinase (fibrinolytic agents) 5.7% . To prevent reinfarction the most used drug is bisoprolol (ß-Blocker) 28.6%. The most commonly used left ventricular damage inhibitor candesartan (ARB) is 22.8%. The most given antidislipidemia was simvastatin 47.1%.

Abstract

Pinang (Areca catechu L.) merupakan tanaman yang memiliki banyak manfaat terutama pada bagian buahnya namun kulit buah pinang hanya dianggap sebagai limbah. Secara empiris suku dayaq benuaq memggunakan kulit buah pinang dalam pengobatan jerawat, namun belum ada data ilmiah mengenai hal tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji potensi antibakteri kulit buah pinang terhadap bakteri Propionibacterium acne penyebab jerawat dengan menggunakan metode Konsentrasi Hambat Minimum (KHM) dengan seri konsentrasi 5%, 10%, 30% dan 50%, serta dianalisis dengan uji T. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kulit pinang tua memiliki daya hambat sebesar 2,3 mm (5%), 4,3 mm (10%), dan 5 mm (30%), serta 6,6 mm (50%). Sedangkan kulit pinang muda memiliki daya hambat sebesar 1 mm (10%), 1,3 mm (30%) dan 5,6 mm (50%). Kulit buah pinang memiliki potensi antibakteri terhadap Propionibacterium acne penyebab jerawat.

Abstract

Pineapple (Ananas comosus (L.) Merr) is one type of fruit that is in demand by the community, both local and world. Pineapple has a waste part that is skin. Pineapple skin in Indonesia is generally just thrown away as waste, whereas pineapple skin contains chemical compounds that are known to have properties. The purpose of this study was to determine secondary metabolite compounds found in pineapple skin. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. Then the method used is phytochemical analysis. The Positive test of this method is characterized by a change in color. Pineapple skin samples were taken from Samarinda, East Kalimantan. The extract was carried out by maceration of dry samples using 96% ethanol solvent. The results of the pineapple skin extraction are then carried out phytochemical screening tests using certain reagents. Phytochemical screening tested included flavonoids, alkaloids, steroids, triterpenoids, tannins, phenolics, and saponins. Based on the results of phytochemical screening research, positive pineapple skin extracts contain flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins, and saponins, while negative results contain phenolic compounds, steroids, and triterpenoids.

Abstract

Mecca leaf (Albertisia papuana Becc.) Is a plant that is used as a flavor enhancer by the Dayak Ethnic community in East Kalimantan. The purpose of this study was to determine the chemical parameter content of Pb and Cd metals in simplicia and mekai leaf water extracts and to find out the toxicity of mekai leaf water extracts on kidney, liver and spleen of mice. Measurement of chemical parameters namely Pb and Cd metal levels in simplicia and water extracts using atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS / AAS) and acute toxicity of water extracts of mekai leaves was done in vivo on test animals with dose variations of 0.105 mg, 2.1 mg, and 42 mg was given to test animals, pharmacological screening was observed, proteinuria levels were carried out using NOVA test® strips, body weight and organ index of mice. The results of measurements of Pb and Cd metal levels in simplicia and extracts of water contained lead as much as 0.851 ppm and 0.642 ppm (<0.10 ppm) and cadmium as much as 0.220 ppm and 0.027 ppm (<0.3 ppm). The result of the toxicity of mekai leaf water extract has LD50>42 mg non-toxic to experimental animals and can stimulate the effects of the central nervous system on experimental animal behavior. So it can be concluded that simplicia and water extract of mekai leaves have Pb and Cd metal content below standard and can stimulate the central nervous system of experimental animals.
