Abstract

This research is motivated by the problems that occur, at SMAN 5 Tasikmalaya, namely the low student learning outcomes. The method used is a quasi-experimental method with The Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The results showed that there were differences in the improvement of student learning outcomes seen from the average value of the posttest of the experimental class 1 which was 87.56, the average value of the posttest of the experimental class 2 which was 81.14, and the average value of the posttest of the control class which was 73.60. These results prove that the comparison in experimental class 1 can improve student learning outcomes better than the learning process in experimental class 2 and control class with international trade material in class XI IPS SMAN 5 Tasikmalaya.

Abstract

This study investigated Universitas Advent Indonesia's perceptions of the challenges and importance of E3 English listening skills in the context of academic and career development. Using a quantitative approach and data collection through a closed Likert-type questionnaire, 125 students from various study programs at Universitas Advent Indonesia responded to the study. The analysis showed that most students experienced several challenges in developing their listening skills, with 45.3% agreeing that such barriers existed. However, they also recognize the importance of listening skills, with 49.67% agreeing that it is vital to their academic success. Furthermore, 52.97% of the students agreed that the strategies used in the listening test were effective methods to improve their comprehension. In addition, most respondents supported recommendations to improve the teaching and learning of listening skills at Adventist University, with 50.93% agreeing with such efforts. This study sheds important light on the development of listening skills in higher education and provides valuable insights for efforts to improve them.

Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of using the Edpuzzle application in improving students’ vocabulary knowledge and understanding in English language learning. An experimental design was employed with pre- and post-tests conducted on seventh-grade students from SMP 1 Parongpong, Jawa Barat. The experimental group utilized Edpuzzle, while the control group employed conventional teaching methods. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, normality tests, and paired sample t-tests. The results indicate a significant improvement in vocabulary knowledge among students who utilized Edpuzzle. The post-test scores (M=68.92) were substantially higher than the pre-test scores (M=41.97), demonstrating the effectiveness of Edpuzzle in enhancing students’ vocabulary skills. However, challenges such as limited access to technology and unstable network connectivity were identified as factors influencing the extent of vocabulary improvement. In conclusion, integrating Edpuzzle into language teaching practices holds promise for enhancing vocabulary learning outcomes and engaging students in active learning experiences.

Abstract

This research aims 1) To determine students' activities using the problem-based learning model in class VIII social studies learning at MTs DDI AL-AMIN. 2) To improve students' critical thinking skills by using the problem-based learning model in class VIII learning at MTs DDI AL-AMIN. This research is classroom action research (PTK) by carrying out 3 cycles, in each cycle there are 4 stages, namely planning, action, observation and reflection. The subjects of this research were class VIII students consisting of 16 students. Data sources obtained from students and teachers. Data collection techniques used were observation, tests and documentation, qualitative and quantitative data analysis techniques. Based on the research results, it shows that (1) the implementation of the problem-based learning model to improve students' critical thinking skills in cycle I analyzed the images presented, in cycle II used TTS in learning, cycle III used PPT material and learning videos then made mind mapping. (2) in cycle I for the pretest and posttest it reached 14%, then in cycle II it increased to 43% and in cycle III the percentage of completion reached 91% or overall students had reached the KKM.

Abstract

Islam is a universal religion containing the principles of human rights as a teaching concept. Islam positions humans on an equal footing with other humans. This is based on several things. First, Islam is a religion of law with the understanding that Islam applies to everyone regardless of class, the social structure of society from the upper class to the lower class, from the bourgeoisie to the proletariat, all are treated equally before the law. Democracy is a concept of a political system, even before, it has been agreed that Islamic teachings contain democratic principles. Democracy itself can take the form of institutions and value systems. The principle of humanity is beyond primordial boundaries and interests. Abstract

The research aims to improve the critical thinking skills of fourth grade elementary school students in mathematics subjects by applying the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model. The method used in the research is classroom action research (PTK), with 2 cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation and reflection stages. This research's data collection techniques include test techniques and non-test techniques. The test technique is a pretest-posttest in the form of multiple choices. Non-test techniques include observation, questionnaires and documentation. The research was conducted on 23 Class IV students at SD Muhammadiyah Plus Malangjiwan Colomadu. The data analysis technique was quantitative descriptive analysis. The results of this research show that the critical thinking abilities of fourth grade elementary school students have improved through the application of the PBL learning model in mathematics lessons. This can be seen from the pre-cycle to the second cycle with the initial average increasing from 51.1 to 77.9 (up 26.8), while the percentage increased from 54.89% to 84.56% (up 29.67%). The number of students who completed also increased from 3 to 23. Therefore, students' critical thinking skills increased significantly during the implementation of the PBL model from pre-cycle to cycle II. The results of the hypothesis test obtained a significance probability of 0.019 < 0.05 in cycle I and 0.004 < 0.05 in cycle II, so Ha was accepted, which means an increase in the critical thinking skills of fourth grade elementary school students was found by implementing the PBL model in mathematics lessons.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to find out and analyze the main forms of innovation that must be implemented as well as identifying inhibiting factors in innovating learning to achieve quality graduates at SMA Bhakti Putra Cibodas. This research method uses descriptive analysis. to analyze the data objectively and describe the Management of Learning Innovations to Achieve Quality Graduates at Sma Bhakti Putra Cibodas. Data collection was carried out by means of short interviews with management staff at SMA Bhakti Putra Cibodas in order to obtain an overview of the extent to which Innovation Management has been implemented and provide evaluations and suggestions regarding the implementation of innovation management at SMA Bhakti Putra Cibodas. The research results show that at Bhakti Putra Cibodas High School, efforts continue to be made to increase learning innovation even though limited internet access is still a major challenge. The main form of innovation that must be implemented is the optimal use of internet media, even though access is not yet optimal, by providing online resources and online learning platforms. Peer tutoring is also introduced as an innovative element, strengthening collaboration in the learning environment. The application of storytelling techniques and a case study approach helps create memorable learning experiences. However, a number of inhibiting factors, including limited human resources, stakeholder resistance, and limited funding, require further attention to ensure the sustainability and effectiveness of these innovations in achieving the desired quality of graduates.

Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of using electron configuration content tools ("e-icons") as a learning medium at the Senior High School (SMA) level. Electron configuration is an important concept in chemistry and understanding it can improve students' understanding of class X atomic structure material. Research data will be collected through a knowledge test on the group of students who use the "e-ikon" tool, called the experimental group, and the group of students without using the "e-ikon" tool, called the control group. Also, through a questionnaire that assesses students' perceptions of the use of electron configuration content tools. Data analysis will be conducted to determine whether the use of the electron configuration content tool can improve students' understanding and help them better internalize the concept of electron configuration. The conclusion that can be drawn is that the scores of students from the experimental class group have a higher average score than the average scores of students from the control class group. This means that the "e-icon" tool has a real influence on students in understanding electron configurations. The time needed for teachers to explain is shorter with the help of the “e-icon” tool. Students become happier studying chemistry. Filling in the configuration using tools lasts a long time in the student's memory.

Abstract

The students’ well-being is an educational issue that has recently received great attention from various parties, be they academicians, politicians, and policymakers. This research aimed to test the role of classroom climate in enhancing students’ well-being. A correlational study in our work revealed that overall, among a sample of 300 grade V and grade VI students in elementary schools and madrasah ibtidaiyah in Praya Lombok Tengah, classroom climate positively and significantly predicted students’ well-being. The classroom climate promoted students’ well being particularly when it took shape via task orientation and when it encouraged solidarity, cooperation, and involvement among students, as well as the perceived teacher justice. Aspects of classroom climate which were suboptimal in explaining students’ well-being included teacher support and learning inquiry.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of socially emotionally competent teachers in Pancasila Education learning to build school well-being at SMA Negeri 5 Semarang. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that teachers with social emotional competence play an important role in implementing Pancasila Education learning to build school well-being at SMA Negeri 5 Semarang. Teachers with social emotional competence are able to create a safe and comfortable learning environment, build positive relationships with students, and encourage students to develop character and national insight. Social emotional competencies that are important for teachers in implementing Pancasila Education learning include self-awareness, social awareness, self-regulation, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making. Teachers with high social emotional competence are able to manage their own emotions, build positive relationships with students, and create a conducive learning environment. This study recommends that teachers at SMA Negeri 5 Semarang continue to improve their social emotional competence in order to effectively implement Pancasila Education learning and build school well-being.
