Abstract

The problem this research was the lack or still weak ability of long serve in badminton games for class X SMAN 1 Pemenang. The formulation of the problem in this research was whether there is a relationship between eye-hand coordination and wrist flexibility with the results of long serve ability in badminton games for class X SMA 1 Pemenang students. This research aims to determine the relationship between hand eye coordination and wrist flexibility with the results of long serve ability in badminton games for class X SMAN 1 Pemenang. The population in this study were 20 class X students of SMAN 1 Pemenang. Data collection techniques using action tests and documentation. The data analysis technique used multiple linear correlation statistics. From the results of the multiple correlation analysis (R), the value of R x_(1) x_(2) Y = 0.770 is greater than the value of r table with a significant level of 5%, namely 0.444. So it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between hand eye coordination and wrist flexibility with the results of long serve ability in badminton games for class X SMAN 1 Pemenang.

Abstract

One of standardized test that measure students’ proficiency level in English which is called as Test of English as Foreign Language (TOEFL) has been used worldwide by more than 9.000 colleges, universities and agencies in more than hundreds countries in the world. Nowadays, English proficiency test is taken not only on purpose of pursuing study abroad but also as a prerequisite to complete college, especially in institutions. Further, it is also used in the admissions process of applicants to get a job especially in companies where English is used to communicate. However, to pass the TOFL test is not an easy task and even there are many test taker failed the test though they had spent months preparing for the test. There are many problem happened during the test that caused the test taker into failure. This research aimed to investigate problems that occur during the test. This study used descriptive qualitative design and the subjects were ten college students who had taken TOEFL prediction test in the Language Center of Mandalika University of Education (UNDIKMA). The instrument used in this study was an interview which then the result of interview was analyzed in three steps, i.e. data condensation, display, and conclusion. The result of the study showed that most of the test taker failed and made a bad score due to some problems, i.e. less practice, lack of vocabulary, bad time management, feeling nervous, etc. It was noted that those who had minimum problem scored higher than those who had various problem.

Abstract

Character was a person's nature, which refers to a person's personal qualities. The characters in the book “The Most Phenomenal Village Children” are no exception, who have the same characters in this study. The purpose of this study is to find out the form of parallel reality of the characters through the words and behavior of the characters in the book "The Most Phenomenal Village Children" by Dr. M. Mufti Mubarok. While this type of research is qualitative literature research using descriptive methods. The results of the study found several forms of reality of character alignment through the words and behavior of the characters such as: being humble, ambitious, empathetic and caring for others, having a strong character, respecting friends and foes, having stable emotions, being brave, patient, and keeping the spirit up. As for other findings from the alignment of characters, through the same words and behavior is a good attitude, which can be an inspiration and innovation for the community.

Abstract

Oral literature is one of the cultural elements that is still passed down from generation to generation. This study aims to describe the significance of holistic spirituality in Sunan Kalijaga's Song Rumekso ing Wengi. This research is a qualitative research. The data in this study consisted of documents and interviews. Collecting data in this study by interview and document analysis. The data validation technique uses theory and method triangulation. Meanwhile, the data analysis technique used the interactive model of Miles and Hubermann, and the markers were Roland Barthes. The results showed that the song rumeksa ing wengi is a rejection mantra taught by Sunan Kalijaga to his followers. Until now, there are still people who develop the song and the practice of the song as a medium of prayer by paying attention to the aspect of tolerance. There are various values ​​that are contained such as ethics of understanding, returning to God, ethics of prayer, and self-control.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the learning activities of Science Biology Class VII A students at MTs. Darul Aminin NW Aikmual using the Inductive Thinking Model. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) with the data collection tool used were observation sheets of teacher and student activities. Based on the data analysis, the results obtained in the first cycle of meeting I, the teacher's activity score was 59.37% in the fairly active category. The action was continued until the second cycle. At the second meeting of cycle II, the teacher's activity score was 78.12% with the active category. Cycle I Meeting I students’ activity score was 47.05% with quite active category. The action was continued until the second cycle. At the second meeting of cycle II, the student activity score was 64.70% in the active category. From these results it can be concluded that action research was successful because it can increase students' biology learning activities using the Inductive Thinking Learning Model.

Abstract

This research aimed to analysis the student’s self-strategies in memorizing English Vocabulary survey study at ponpes nurul islam. subject of this research was first grade VII-A of MTs nurul Islam in academic year 2022/2023. The sample of this study were 7 students. The method of this research was qualitative survey study. The technique of data collection applied in this study were interview, recording and documents. Then the procedure of data analysis was data condensation, data display and conclusion drawing and verification used the theory of Miles and Huberman 2014. The result of this research, the researcher found out the types of student’s strategies in memorizing English vocabulary. The strategies used by the students were making note strategy, repeating strategy, singing strategy and practice strategy. Therefore, the strategies used by students to remember the meaning and spelling were practice strategy, writing strategy, memorizing strategy and reading strategy.

Abstract

Language is a tool for communication in the life of human beings to be able to interact properly. Besides Indonesian as the national language, in Indonesia there are also regional languages ​​depending tribal regions, such as the Minangkabau language. Minangkabau language has dialects vary widely, one of them languages ​​Minangkabau in South Solok regency. This study discusses the reduplication in Minangkabau language in South Solok regency. The research is a qualitative research with descriptive method. The research data used linguistic form of data derived from primary and secondary sources. Reduplications discussed in this study was the shape and meaning of Minangkabau language reduplication in South Solok regency. First, the reduplicated form found in Minangkabau language in South Solok district can be grouped into three, namely (1) the form of the noun reduplication, (2) reduplication of verbs, and (3) adjective reduplication. Second, the meaning of reduplication found in Minangkabau language in South Solok regency there are three, namely (1) the meaning of the noun reduplication, (2) reduplication of verbs, and (3) adjective reduplication. Reduplicated form is divided into two: (1) the form of reduplicated root and (2) form the basis affixed reduplication. .

Abstract

Application of Audio-Visual Media in Training Art Development for Group B at Sa'addatutdarain Kindergarten. Learning the art of dance can be done in various ways, one of them was by using audio-visual media. Motion audio-visual media is a modern instructional media that is in accordance with the times (advancements in science and technology) because it includes vision, hearing and movement. The formulation of the problem is: How is the application of dance learning in Sa'addatutdarain Kindergarten with the use of audio-visual media? The purpose of his research in this study was: To find out how to apply dance learning in Sa'addatutdarain Kindergarten with the use of audio-visual media. The research method used in this research was descriptive qualitative. The subjects of this study were 1 school principal and 1 teacher. The results of the study show that art learning for early childhood with the application of audio-visual media in group B at Sa'addatutdarain Kindergarten has developed well, and teachers provide motivation to children so that children want to do the art being taught.

Abstract

Mathematical reasoning and cognitive potential are two student competencies assessed in the SNBT 2023 scholastic potential test. Mathematical reasoning is a student's cognitive ability in making decisions based on analysis, justification, problem solving, and evaluation of problem solving strategies based on data/information on problems solved in everyday life. The aim of the study was to obtain a profile picture of the mathematical reasoning abilities and cognitive potential of SMA students in solving TPS SNBT questions in one of the Privat SMA in East Lombok district, NTB. This research is a qualitative research with a case study design. The participants in this study were 24 students of class XII IPA SMAS Lombok Timur consisting of 8 male students and 16 female students in the odd semester of the 2022-2023 academic year. The instruments in this study were tests of mathematical reasoning and cognitive potential, interviews, observations, and documentation studies. Participant taking technique is done by purposive sampling technique. Data collection was carried out using test and non-test data. The results showed that the profile of students' mathematical reasoning ability and cognitive potential was at a high level in solving TPS SNBT questions but still found: (1) students had difficulties in understanding aspects so students could not identify and understand problems, (2) students had difficulties in modeling aspects /representation of situations so that students cannot make mathematical representations of problems, both models and other mathematical sentences, (3) students have difficulty in cognitive/concept aspects so students cannot create or come up with new strategies in solving problems, and (4) students have difficulties in aspects applied so that students are not able to make and carry out strategies and arithmetical operations correctly.

Abstract

This study was intended to provide a contribution to the improvement of students’ vocabulary mastery in MTs. Annajah Sesela, Gunungsari District, West Nusa Tenggara Province. Based on a preliminary study, the researcher found that this class lack vocabulary mastery in English and the mean score was 54. As the school is Islamic-based, students learn Arabic language very often yet English is only learnt at school. The teachers seldom applied various activities in teaching English. English is not seen as individual words but collocation and colligation. To cope with those problems, the researcher employed Autonomous Vocabulary Learning Strategy through Lexically Based-Task. This study was an action research and designed to increase students’ vocabulary mastery and to improve their reading ability using Autonomous Vocabulary Learning through Lexically Based-Task at MTs. Annajah, Sesele, Gunungsari, West Lombok. This study was conducted in one cycle consisting of eight meetings using the following procedures: planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. The data of the study were collected through the result of the test, observation checklists, and field notes. The subjects were 30 students of the 2nd grade of MTs. Annajah Sesela, Gunungsari, West Lombok. The procedures of the study were implemented through four steps: (1) the students did extensive reading and searched ten lexicons, (2) the students reported the lexicons along with their lexico-grammatical units to share with the class, (3) the students wrote the lexicons and the sentences on the whiteboard while the audience recorded their friends’ lexicons, (4) the teacher provided feedback for any grammatical errors and assessment was done without scoring to help them achieve the indicators of the instruction. The findings of the study indicated that the Autonomous Vocabulary Learning strategy was successful in increasing students’ vocabulary mastery and improving students’ reading ability. This could be seen from the result of mean score from the tests. The researcher found that the mean score of preliminary tests was 54.17 and the final test was 78.08. It indicated that the mean score of the final test is higher than that of preliminary test (78.08 > 54.17). More than 80% students gained 70 and the total of the students’ lexicons found during this investigation was 300 words. It is suggested that English teachers apply this strategy to increase students’ vocabulary mastery in supporting their reading ability. For the institution, it has to utilize more creative methods in encouraging the students to learn English. And for future researchers, the findings of the research can become a good reference to conduct better research.
