Abstract

This research is motivated by a phenomenon that appears based on observations made by researchers at SMPN 4 Kampar Kiri Tengah. Whereas there is a lack of student discipline character, such as; arriving late to school, not wearing a neat and complete school uniform, and long hair for male students. The formulation of the problem in this study is whether there is an influence of Civics learning on the formation of the disciplinary character of students at Middle Left Middle School 4 Kampar. The benefits of this research are theoretical benefits, namely this research is expected to contribute to the field of education, especially those related to the writing of student discipline characters. The practical benefit is to find out and get answers whether there is an effect of Civics learning on the formation of the disciplinary character of students at Middle Left Middle School 4 Kampar. The population of this study were all students of SMPN 4 Kampar Kiri Tengah, totaling 73 students. The sample in this study were 73 people with a sampling technique, namely saturated sampling. This study uses a quantitative descriptive research method. This method can be used to examine certain populations or samples, collect data using research instruments, analyze quantitative or statistical data with the aim of testing established hypotheses (Sugiyono, 2017: 15). This research method uses simple regression analysis, because the aim is to determine the effect of Civics learning on the formation of the disciplinary character of students at SMPN 4 Kampar Kiri Tengah. Data collection methods are questionnaires, observation, and documentation. Data processing with statistical analysis with a simple linear regression formula. Based on the results of research on the effect of Civics learning on the formation of the disciplined character of students at SMPN 4 Kampar Kiri Tengah. The results of the t test obtained tcount of 5,147 ttable of 1.99 which shows that tcount > ttable, so that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted and the effect of Civics Learning on Student Discipline Character is low, From the results of the regression test it is obtained that R is obtained (R Square) of 0.272 which implies that the effect of the independent variable (CIP Learning) on ​​the dependent variable (student discipline character) is 27.2% in the "Low" category. While 72.8% (100% - 27.2%) is influenced by other variables not examined in this study. it can be concluded that there is an effect of Civics learning on the formation of the discipline character of students at SMPN 4 Kampar Kiri Tengah, namely 27.2% in the range of 25.01% - 50% which is included in the "Low" category.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the results of learning Indonesian using the role playing method for fourth grade students at SDN 12 Sindue, Donggala Regency. In the Indonesian subject, grade IV students have not been able to achieve the KKM that has been determined by the teacher. This type of research is classroom action research in collaboration with class IV teachers at SDN 12 Sindue. The subjects in this study were teachers and fourth grade students at SDN 12 Sindue, totaling 23 students. The data collection technique in this study was through evaluation tests and observations during the learning process. Data analysis in this study used descriptive qualitative and quantitative observation sheets to describe the results of the scores obtained by students. The results of the study show that learning Indonesian by applying role playing learning can improve the learning outcomes of fourth grade students at SDN 12 Sindue, Donggala Regency. An increase in student learning outcomes occurred after carrying out the role playing method, namely students playing roles with their group mates on message material over the phone to understand Indonesian language lessons. Indonesian language learning outcomes increased from cycle 1 to cycle 2. The percentage of completeness of student learning outcomes increased from 69.57% to 82.61%. Students who don't participate in groups are approached by the teacher and directed to ask their friends so that all students can understand the material and can play their roles well. It can be concluded that the use of the role playing method can improve the learning outcomes of Indonesian in grade IV elementary school students.

Abstract

The formulation of the problem in this study is how to analyze the impact of using gadgets in early childhood. The research objectives to be achieved in this study are readers can use gadgets wisely, readers can reduce dependence on gadgets, to provide information about the impact of using gadgets on health and to provide information about gadgets. The research method used is a qualitative research method. Based on the results of research on the negative and positive impacts of using gadgets on children aged 6-12 years in Sidamukti Village, it can be concluded: 1). The positive impact of using gadgets on respondents is 5 children aged 6-12 years in Sidamukti Village, showing data for 2 children who show a positive impact, this is classified as a minority because the other 3 respondents have not shown a positive impact. 2). The negative impact of using gadgets on respondents was 5 children aged 6-12 years in Sidamukti Village, showing data for 3 children showing a negative impact, this is classified as the majority because 2 other respondents have shown a positive impact.

Abstract

This research was school action research (SAR) that raises how low-grade teachers can manage the learning process in classroom with the intention of improving the quality of learning that conducted in the classroom and the evaluation is carried out through clinical supervision activities by principle in the classroom during learning. This school action research was conducted at SD Negeri 1 Teros for 3 months starting from January to march 2022 by going through stages of the cycle. The aim of this school action research was to know how far the supervision that conducted by the principle followed by giving the coaching/treatment to teachers can improve the skill of the teachers to manage the learning process in the classroom. This school action research was conducted in 2 cycles, from the result of the action taken was proven can improve the skill of the teachers with achieve the ideal standard. In cycle I, the improving of teachers’ skill after conducted the clinical supervision and after giving the coaching about managing the learning process was just achieve about 50%, in cycle II it was improved to 100%. The average score obtained after conducted the clinical supervision in cycle I is 74.16 and improved at cycle II to 85.83, it means that there is an improvement of 11.76 and the level of completeness as group/classical in cycle I reached 50% and in cycle II improved to 100%. The result of this school action research showed that the coaching by principle can improve the skill of the teachers in managing the learning process in learning process.

Abstract

The aim of this research was; to determine the effectiveness of using group work to improve learning outcomes for making Custom Made Clothing at SMK Negeri 2 Selong. After conducting research and analysis, this research shows the results that; with group work: a) Can encourage the growth and development of students' critical and analytical thinking potential optimally, b) Train students to be active, creative, and critical in dealing with every problem, c) Encouraging the growth of an attitude of tolerance, willing to listen and respecting the opinions of others, d) Encouraging the growth of democracy among students, e) Training students to increase the exchange of opinions objectively, rationally and systematically in arguing in order to find something true in cooperation between group members , and f) Encouraging the growth of the courage to express students' opinions openly, seventh trains to always be able to be independent in dealing with every problem, eighth trains student leadership, ninth broadens students' horizons through exchanging information, opinions and experiences between them, tenth was a forum for effective for teaching and learning activities. Thus, it can be concluded that " Group Work was Effective to Improve Student Learning Outcomes in Making Custom Fashion Clothing at SMK Negeri 2 Selong, East Lombok Regency.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the form of popular culture of hedonism and materialism contained in the novel Kami (Not) Sarjana Kertas by J.S Khairen in terms of the sociology of literature. Qualitative research with the object of study is a novel with the title "We (Not) Paper Graduates" by J.S Khairen. The data collection method was obtained from the document technique with the text in the novel Kami (Not) Sarjana Kertas. The results of the study are as follows: First, popular culture in the form of hedonism consists of three forms, namely 1) prioritizing momentary pleasures; 2) contemporary lifestyle; and 3) the use of modern technology. Second, the popular culture of materialism consists of three, namely 1) the material possession of wealth; 2) activities that generate money; and 3) the assumption that money is everything.

Abstract

The research conducted was school action research (SAR) which raises questions about how teachers can use existing learning media in the learning process in the classroom with the intention of increasing the quality of learning conducted in class and the evaluation was carried out through supervising activities of the principal in class when learning. This school action research activity was carried out at SDN 3 Wakan for 3 months, from October to December 2021 by going through cycle stages. The purpose of this school action research (SAR) is to find out to what extent the supervision carried out by the school principal followed by the provision of guidance/treatment of target teachers can improve the teacher's ability to apply learning models in class. This school action research (SAR) was carried out in 2 cycles, the results of the actions taken proved to be able to improve teacher abilities by achieving ideal standards. In the first cycle of improving the ability of teachers after conducting class supervision after coaching on the use of new learning media reached around 33.33% in cycle II it could increase to 100%. The average score obtained after class supervision in cycle I was 63.30 and increased in cycle II to 83.33, meaning that there was an increase of 20.03 and the level of completeness as a group/classical in cycle I reached 33.33% and in cycle II increased to 100%. The results of this school action research show that school principal coaching can improve teachers' ability to use instructional media in the learning process.

Abstract

This study deals with the communication strategies used by tourist guides at Benang stokel, Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara Province. It was aimed to investigate types of communication strategies. This study was conducted by applying a qualitative research design. The sources of the data were selected from two tourist guides in Benang stokel. The instrument applied in this study were observation sheet, filed notes, and interview. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis technique, by describing types of communication strategies and the process communication strategies used by tourist guides at Benang stokel, Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara Province. Based on the analysis of data, it was found that the process of communication strategies used by tourist guide occur during the communication with foreign tourist is dominantly achievement or compensatory strategies, self-monitoring strategies, and interactional strategies. In the conversation, they did not always go as smoothly as we think. In fact, communication strategies had been applied by tourist guides even though they did not know about the theory behind it.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to investigate the effect of practicum method on student learning outcomes in the subject matter of optical tools in grade XI semester II SMA Swasta Asisi T.P. 2022/2023 with the application of practicum method.The type of research is true experiment with the sample from grade XI MIA 1 and XI MIA 2 of SMA Swasta Asisi T.P. 2022/2023. The instrument test of research was composed 20 items of multiple choice and the validity of the content was tested by two experts as the validator and the observation sheet of the student activity. Based on the result of the data analysis, the mean value of post test in  experimental class postes 78.46 with the standard deviation of 11.25 and the mean value of post test in control class 66.50 with the standard deviation of 13.78. Normality and homogeneity test at level α=0.05 stated normal and homogeneous and test of hypothesis was only one thitung > ttabel (2.99 > 1.67). It can be concluded that the using of  practicum method can improve the student’s achievement in the subject of optical tools in grade XI semester II SMA Swasta Asisi T.P. 2022/2023.

Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim of obtaining an overview of the use of Screencast O Matic in empowering oral communication skills of students of the Biology Education study program, University of Timor. This research is quantitative descriptive. The research subjects were students of the Biology Education Study Program at the University of Timor who programmed the Teaching and Learning course. The instrument used is an open questionnaire containing five questions. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results showed that empowering the oral communication skills of students of the Biology Education study program at the University of Timor could not be carried out optimally. The reason is the low readiness and awareness of students to take part in new lecture patterns, including lectures based on Screencast O Matic.
