Abstract

A numerical model capable of simulating the dam-break flow is required to reduce the detrimental impact on the downstream area of the dam. This study aims to see how the characteristics and patterns of flow due to partial dam failure and the presence of an obstacle in the floodplain. In real life, the obstacle can be considered as a building. In this research, a model based on the FTCS method was developed with the addition of a Hansen numerical filter. This model is known as the FTCS-Hansen model. The Hansen filter in this study is used to enhance the numerical of the model and reduce oscillations due to shock waves. The FTCS-Hansen model simulates a 2D partial dam break with an obstacle. The simulation results are compared with other simulation results from previous studies. This comparison intends to see the performance of the FTCS-Hansen model. The results show good agreement between the FTCS-Hansen model and other numerical models. In addition, the complicated dam-break flow characteristics due to the presence of an obstacle (reflection and diffraction) can also be well captured by the FTCS-Hansen model.

Abstract

The infectious disease COVID-19 caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus can infect all age groups. The symptoms that arise can vary from no symptoms to severe and critical symptoms. Differences in clinical symptoms can occur due to differences in the distribution, maturation and function of the SARS-CoV-2 virus receptors. These clinical symptoms will determine the severity of COVID-19. This study aims to analyze the relationship between age and clinical symptoms and the severity of COVID-19 in Bengkulu Province in 2020. This study used an observational analytic study with a cross-sectional design. Samples were taken using a consecutive sampling technique and a total of 109 subjects were obtained who were COVID-19 patients in Bengkulu Province from March to December 2020. Assessment of clinical symptoms used COVID-19 epidemiological investigations. The degree of severity is determined based on the Guidelines for the Prevention and Control of COVID-19 by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia. The relationship between the two variables was analyzed using the Spearman Rank test. The results of this study indicate that there is a significant relationship between the age factor of COVID-19 patients in determining the severity of COVID-19 (p=0.000; p <0.05).

Abstract

I Gede Modara (1770), nicknamed I Gede Mersadi, was a pioneer of the Kamasan wayang painting, which is now called classical balinese painting. Kamasan wayang paintings are very bound by standards and provisions that are binding and standard, used for offerings and enlightenment to the people. One of the works left by Modara enlightenment painting, entitled "Pemuteran Gunung Mandara Giri" is made in the form of parba on wood, using balinese colors, now in very poor condition, not taken care of properly, and has not received attention from the government so that it gives the impression of being very neglectful of the heritage history. In fact, this work is a work that has a high reputation as an art historical heritage which is very important when future generations want to trace the civilization and development of balinese classical painting. Departing from this phenomenon, it is interesting to be used as research "Preservation of I Gede Modara's Painting with the title Screening of Mount Mandara Giri". The analytical approach used the concept of theory and method of preservation. Preservation relates to preservation, development and empowerment to create new or renewable products. In the discussion, discussing: 1) conservation measures, 2) development of creative industries, 3) community empowerment and expanding employment opportunities.

Abstract

Rubber gardening for people in several regions of West Kalimantan is the main livelihood. One of them is in Sei Kembayau Village. For generations, rubber gardening has been the livelihood of the villagers. Rubber plants have actually been passed down from generation to generation. The patron-client concept that currently exists is the basic foundation in survival and has been attached to rubber plantations in the community. This paper aims to see the patron-client pattern from the change in livelihood of rubber plants to oil palm plants. This study used ethnographic research methods. Take a holistic approach and describe it in depth or detail to obtain a genuine person's point of view. Tauke patron-clients and subordinates are still well established as an economic concept of the Sei Kembayau Village community, even though there is already a KUD present in the community as support for the palm oil economy. So that subordinates will still get social security from every Tauke as their patron.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the obstacles to the implementation of strengthening caring character education in SMA Negeri 1 Sidoharjo. The type of research used in this study is descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis consists of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing/verification. The results showed that: Youth Red Cross Extracurricular (PMR) is one of the forums for coaching and developing adolescent members with the aim of building and developing the character of members. The implementation of PMR is guided by one of the principles of Kepalang Merahan, which is to foster social attitudes, in the form of an attitude of social care through social and health activities in the school environment, family/home, and community. However, the implementation is constrained by various factors, namely: (1) the existence of inadequate facilities and infrastructure (2) activities are not well coordinated, (3) students are less enthusiastic about participating in extracurricular activities, (4) No good cooperation from the principal, teachers and students themselves, (5) there is a lack of attention to funding extracurricular activities. (6) PMR extracurricular activities are carried out in the afternoon, which means that training cannot be maximized. Apart from the existence of various obstacles, in principle, the PMR extracurricular activities carried out are activities as an effort to shape individual students to become more characterized and become good personalities and uphold the social values that exist in society.

Abstract

Conflicts that occur in various countries indirectly affect Indonesia, namely with population migration for security reasons or also called refugees abroad (refugee). Until now, the number of foreign refugees in Indonesia as of May 2023 has reached 12,704 people. This study aims to analyze the threat of refugee existence in Indonesia by collecting data related to the prominence of Afghan and Rohingya refugees in Indonesia with descriptive qualitative methods referring to threat analysis. The research used a descriptive approach with qualitative data from relevant literatures. The results showed that the existence of refugees has the potential to become a threat as a result of prominent factors such as intention, circumstance, and vulnerability. The intention factor results from refugees who have long lived in Indonesia in shelters that have a saturation point. The situation factor by the main issue is the slow process of resstelement and voluntary repatriation into problems for which there is no definite solution and several relevant issues including Australia's interest in handling overseas refugees in Indonesia, religious and cultural similarities in hosting in Indonesia and the role of trafficking syndicates in the arrival of overseas refugees in Indonesia. Vulnerability factors include gaps in the assessment process for determining refugee status and procedures for handling migrants with final reject status as well as the role of trafficking syndicates.
