Abstract

This study examines the dynamics of students’ self-efficacy in flipped classroom-based mathematics instruction and its contribution to improving learning engagement and confidence. The background of this research is rooted in the persistent problem of low student participation, anxiety, and negative perceptions toward mathematics learning, which often affect academic achievement. Therefore, the study aims to explore how the flipped classroom model supports the development of students’ self-efficacy in mathematics learning. This research employed a qualitative literature review approach by analyzing relevant scientific articles related to flipped classrooms, self-efficacy, and mathematics education. Data were collected through documentation techniques and analyzed using thematic analysis to identify patterns regarding the formation and development of self-efficacy. The findings reveal that flipped classroom learning provides meaningful learning experiences through independent study, collaborative discussions, and problem-solving activities. Students become more confident because they are given opportunities to understand the material before classroom interaction and actively participate during learning sessions. Furthermore, the flipped classroom enhances learning independence, critical thinking skills, and emotional readiness while reducing mathematics anxiety. However, the effectiveness of this model is influenced by student readiness, teacher facilitation, and technological support. In conclusion, the flipped classroom is an effective and innovative learning model that can significantly strengthen students’ self-efficacy and improve the quality of mathematics learning in the digital education era.

Abstract

Video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) has become a widely adopted minimally invasive thoracic procedure because it reduces surgical trauma, postoperative complications, and hospital length of stay compared with conventional thoracotomy. However, postoperative pain after VATS remains a significant clinical challenge that may impair respiratory function, delay mobilization, and prolong recovery. Regional anesthesia techniques such as erector spinae plane block (ESPB) and thoracic paravertebral block (TPVB) are increasingly incorporated into enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) protocols, although their comparative effectiveness remains under debate. This study aimed to compare the analgesic efficacy, perioperative outcomes, and safety profiles of ESPB and TPVB in patients undergoing VATS. This research employed a narrative review design by synthesizing evidence from randomized controlled trials, comparative studies, and meta-analyses published between 2021 and 2026. Data were collected from PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science databases using a structured literature search strategy. The findings demonstrated that both ESPB and TPVB provide comparable postoperative analgesia, opioid consumption, respiratory recovery, and length of hospital stay within the first 24–48 hours after surgery. TPVB showed slightly superior early pain control, whereas ESPB offered greater procedural simplicity and a lower risk of pleura-related complications. In conclusion, both techniques are effective regional anesthesia options for VATS, and their selection should be individualized based on clinical priorities, surgical complexity, and patient safety considerations.

Abstract

The tourism sector in Indonesia offers significant potential for regional economic development, but many destinations face challenges in sustainable management and effective marketing. This study focuses on the Mount Fatuleu tourist attraction in Nunsaen Village, Kupang Regency, which has experienced a decline in visitors and environmental degradation after the COVID-19 pandemic and Tropical Cyclone Seroja in 2021. The study examines the implementation of the marketing mix as an effort to create sustainable tourism at Mount Fatuleu using the 7P approach. This descriptive research uses qualitative methods, collecting data through observation, in-depth interviews, documentation, and library research. Data analysis follows Miles and Huberman’s techniques: Data Reduction, Data Display, and Conclusion Drawing/Verification, supported by data triangulation for validity. The 7P marketing mix—product, price, place, promotion, human resources, physical evidence, and processes—has not been fully implemented simultaneously by Mount Fatuleu’s management. This incomplete implementation has led to degradation of both its tourism potential and its tourist attractions. Consequently, the concept of sustainable tourism has not been actualized at Mount Fatuleu, limiting its ability to recover and develop sustainably

Abstract

Indonesian marriage law adheres to the principle of non-absolute monogamy, allowing polygamy with religious court permission. Although polygamy permit cases are categorized as disputes requiring mandatory mediation, mediation becomes unnecessary when both husband and wife have mutually agreed to the polygamy, as no actual dispute exists. In such situations, the mediation process risks overriding the principle of monogamy. The purpose of this article is to conduct a legal analysis of the implementation of mediation of polygamy permit applications in religious courts and to find solutions to uphold the application of the principle of monogamy at the mediation stage of polygamy permit applications. This article employs a normative juridical method, namely a study of the principles and norms in statutory regulations with an analytical approach, by analyzing legal materials to ascertain the meaning contained in the terms used in statutory regulations conceptually. The results of this research show that in polygamy permit applications where there is no dispute between the parties, the role of the mediator needs to be expanded to act as a negotiator to prioritize the principle of monogamy, as well as to prevent polygamy permit applications that are not in accordance with legal provisions from continuing in the examination process, as an implementation of the principles of administering justice that are simple, fast, and low-cost.

Abstract

Stroke is the second leading cause of death worldwide. Most strokes are ischemic, with varying incidence by age and gender. COVID-19 is known to increase the risk of acute ischemic stroke through inflammatory and hypercoagulable mechanisms. According to the WHO, COVID-19 patients have an estimated 5% risk of developing ischemic stroke. Previous research indicates that ischemic stroke associated with COVID-19 predominantly occurs in patients over 69 years of age and is more common in men. This study aimed to determine the characteristics of ischemic stroke patients associated with COVID-19 based on gender and age at Dr. Ramelan Naval Hospital, Surabaya, from 2020 to 2022. This descriptive study employed quantitative methods using secondary data derived from the medical records of patients who met the inclusion criteria. The study was conducted at Dr. Ramelan Naval Hospital, Surabaya, from March to September 2025. The results showed that, of the 86 cases, 90.7% of patients were identified as having risk factors for cardiovascular disease. Among patients with risk factors, males were more numerous (69%), with a predominance in the ?50-year age group (88%). However, among patients without risk factors, the numbers of males and females were relatively equal, with a similar predominance in the ?50-year age group (75%). The conclusion of this study is that ischemic stroke patients with COVID-19 at Dr. Ramelan Naval Hospital, Surabaya, between 2020 and 2022 were predominantly male and aged ?50 years.

Abstract

A company's value is an important indicator that reflects the market's perception of the company's performance and sustainability. In recent years, the role of corporate governance and profitability in increasing corporate value has received considerable attention; however, empirical research results still show inconsistent findings, especially when corporate social responsibility (CSR) is taken into account. This study aims to analyze the influence of corporate governance and profitability on company value and examine the role of CSR as a moderating variable. The study employs a quantitative approach using secondary data from manufacturing companies listed on the LQ45 index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the observation period. Company value is measured using Tobin's Q; corporate governance is proxied through governance mechanisms; profitability is measured by return on assets; and CSR disclosures are assessed using the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) index. Data analysis was carried out using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results indicate that corporate governance and profitability have a positive effect on company value. In addition, CSR has been shown to strengthen the relationship between corporate governance and company value, while its moderating effect on profitability is comparatively weaker. These findings suggest that CSR is not merely symbolic but serves as a strategic mechanism that enhances market valuation when supported by effective governance.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the system and procedures for the procurement of goods and services implemented at PT X Tbk using a quantitative approach. The background of this research is the strategic role of procurement in corporate governance and the existence of several indications of problems in the procurement process at the company. The research method used is quantitative descriptive, with data obtained from internal company documents, structured procurement records, and questionnaires distributed to 17 respondents involved in the procurement process. Data analysis was carried out to assess the levels of effectiveness, efficiency, and transparency in the procurement process, encompassing validity and reliability tests, classical assumption tests, and hypothesis testing using multiple linear regression. The findings indicate that the procurement procedure at PT X Tbk is carried out through systematic stages, from the submission of procurement requests to the contract finalisation stage. The transparency variable was rated very highly by respondents and was the only variable that satisfied the reliability test. However, the effectiveness and efficiency variables showed reliability values below the acceptable threshold, indicating inconsistencies in respondents' perceptions. The regression analysis revealed that efficiency has a positive and significant effect on the procurement system and procedures, while effectiveness and transparency do not show a significant effect. The implication of this research is the need for PT X Tbk to focus on improving efficiency in the procurement process and to re-evaluate the measurement instruments for effectiveness and transparency to ensure more consistent and reliable results in the future.

Abstract

Stainless steel crowns (SSC) are widely used in the management of carious primary molars. The Hall Technique (HT) has emerged as a minimally invasive alternative that avoids local anesthesia and caries removal. However, evidence regarding the outcomes of HT compared to conventional SSC (CSSC) placement remains varied. This scoping review aims to map the available evidence on the clinical, radiographic, and patient-related outcomes of the Hall Technique and conventional stainless steel crowns in the management of carious primary molars. A scoping review was conducted following the PRISMA-ScR guidelines using the Population–Concept–Context (PCC) framework. Electronic searches were performed in PubMed, Scopus, and EBSCOhost for articles published between 2014 and 2024. Studies reporting outcomes of HT and/or conventional SSCs (CSSCs) in primary molars were included. Data were charted and synthesized descriptively. Seven studies met the inclusion criteria, comprising randomized controlled trials and observational studies conducted in various clinical settings. The included studies reported favorable clinical and radiographic outcomes for both HT and conventional SSC (CSSC), with variations in follow-up duration, outcome measures, and study design. Patient-related outcomes such as discomfort and acceptability were inconsistently reported. The available evidence indicates that both the Hall Technique and conventional stainless steel crowns demonstrate favorable outcomes in managing carious primary molars. However, heterogeneity in study designs and outcome measures highlights the need for further research with standardized reporting and longer follow-up periods.
