Abstract

This community service initiative aims to empower women-managed Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Mojokerto, Indonesia, by improving their digital marketing communication skills through the practical application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools. Despite their crucial contribution to the economy, many women entrepreneurs face barriers in adopting digital technologies, which limits their market reach and business growth. Through a collaboration with the Mojokerto Cooperative Office and the Gerakan Majapahit Muda, supported by Microsoft and the Ministry of Digital Communications, the program trained 45 women entrepreneurs using a community-based participatory approach. A tailored three-day AI training module introduced tools such as ChatGPT, Canva, and WhatsApp Bots, followed by a two-month online mentorship. Results showed significant improvements in AI literacy, marketing content quality, customer engagement, and business performance. Notably, social media interactions and online product orders increased, with several entrepreneurs reporting up to 30% sales growth. The program also fostered peer learning and collective support among participants. While challenges such as limited internet access and resistance to technology were encountered, they were mitigated through inclusive teaching strategies. The project demonstrates the transformative potential of AI training in enabling inclusive, sustainable development for women entrepreneurs in semi-urban areas.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the public speaking skills of sixth-grade students at SDN 2 Daleman through the utilization of YouTube as an audiovisual-based learning medium. Public speaking is a crucial component of oral communication competence that needs to be developed from an early age, as it influences students’ confidence, critical thinking, and ability to express ideas in public. Initial observations indicated that most students faced difficulties in structuring their speeches systematically, using proper pronunciation and intonation, and showing appropriate expression and vocal control during presentations. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach conducted in two cycles, each comprising planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The subjects were 17 sixth-grade students, consisting of 8 boys and 9 girls. Data were collected through observation, documentation, interviews, and speech performance tests. The success indicators were determined by the increase in the number of students who met the Minimum Mastery Criteria (MMC) of 75 and improvements in specific aspects of public speaking, including expression, pronunciation, intonation, voice volume, and content structure. The results showed a significant improvement in students’ public speaking skills through the use of YouTube media. In the pre-cycle stage, only 7 out of 17 students (41%) achieved the MMC. After the first cycle of implementation, the number increased to 10 students (58%). By the second cycle, 15 students (88%) met or exceeded the target. In addition to the quantitative improvement, qualitative enhancements were observed in students’ delivery of speech elements.Learning improvement was also evident across multiple performance aspects, such as clarity of pronunciation, appropriate expression, dynamic intonation, mastery of content, and proper vocal projection. The effective use of YouTube, particularly through a modeling approach featuring high-achieving students as role models, proved to be a powerful motivator and conceptual clarifier. Moreover, it enabled students to engage in self-reflection by watching their own recorded speeches. Therefore, YouTube serves not only as a visual aid but also as a strategic tool to enhance oral communication skills in the context of 21st-century learning.

Abstract

Through a digital marketing strategy, this community service activity focuses on optimizing the promotion and sales of banana stem craft products in Kedungkeris Village, Nglipar, Yogyakarta. The background of this program is based on the potential of unique crafts from banana stems, such as mini photo frames, baskets, flip-flops, songkok, sling bags, and pencil cases, as local MSME products with high value. However, these products still have limited market reach and promotion due to a minimal understanding of utilizing digital platforms. The shift in consumer behavior towards the courage to shop post-pandemic also further emphasizes the importance of a digital presence for their business desires. The main objective of this service is to improve the craftsmen's understanding and digital marketing skills. The activity was carried out at the Kedungkeris Village Hall and involved 26 participants who were banana stem craftsmen. The material provided includes the basics of digital marketing, utilization of social media (especially Instagram and Facebook), e-commerce strategies (Shopee and Tokopedia), and practical tips for optimizing promotion and sales. The approach used is interactive lectures and discussions, helping participants understand essential concepts such as determining target markets, product innovation (including combining crafts with culinary products as hampers), and ease of access to purchases through digital channels. The implications of this activity are expected to increase the capacity of digital craftsmen significantly, expand the market reach of Kedungkeris banana stem products, and ultimately increase sales turnover and the economic welfare of the local community sustainably.
