Sampling used purposive sampling of 20 respondents in the Posyandu area of Jogonalan Village, Klaten. Attributes in the service quality questionnaire included tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, assurance and empathy. Quantitative tests carried out included item reliability validity test, Servqual confirmation test. The test results show that the confirmation value has a positive value with the lowest positive value on the tangible dimension. Improvement efforts must continue to be made with the emphasis on improvement on the value that has the lowest positive dimension followed by the next positive value. The increasing quality of Posyandu KB (Family planning )services in Jogonalan Village leads to community satisfaction so that it can become a stronghold against cases of stunting infants under five years of age in urban areas.

Abstract

The study aims to: 1. Determine the effect of the CTL learning model on the ability to write narrative texts, 2. Determine the effect of motivation on the ability to write narrative texts, and 3. Determine the effect of the CTL learning model and motivation on the ability to write narrative texts. The study was conducted using a descriptive correlative method, which explains the relationship between two or more variables. In this case, it is to explain the relationship between the CTL learning model and learning motivation on the ability to write narrative texts. The subjects of the study were grade XII students of SMA Negeri Wanasari Brebes in the 2023/2024 academic year. The study was conducted from September to December 2024. Samples were taken from 2 classes, 1 class as an experimental class and 1 control class. Samples were taken using a cluster random sample. Data were obtained through documentation, tests, and questionnaires. Data analysis was carried out using the multiple classification variance analysis formula technique. The results of the analysis are as follows: 1. The calculated F for the research group was 9.894 with a significance of 0.002 0.05. 2. F count for motivation is 8.060 with a significance of 0.001 0.05. 3. F count for the interaction of learning models and motivation is obtained at 3.462 with a significance of 0.03 0.0. From the significance value, it can be stated that Ho for the three hypotheses is rejected and Ha is accepted. Based on the hypothesis testing, it can be concluded that: 1. The CTL model has a significant effect on the ability to write narrative texts. 2. Learning motivation has a significant effect on the ability to write narrative texts. 3. The interaction between the CTL learning model and learning motivation has a significant effect on the ability to write narrative texts.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effectiveness of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model in learning to write argumentative essays. This study employs a quantitative approach with a one group pre-test post-test design. The subjects of the research are all students of class XI at SMA Nurul Iman NW Tammimi Lombok Tengah, totaling 20 people. Data collection techniques include tests, observations, and documentation. The statistical test used to test the hypothesis is the t-test. The analysis results show that the t-count value (3.257) is greater than the t-table value (1.729), which means there is a significant difference between the results of the pre-test and post-test. Thus, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted, namely that there is a significant influence of the PBL model on students' argumentative essay writing skills. In conclusion, (1) the PBL model is effective for teaching argumentative essay writing, and (2) this model is more capable of improving student learning outcomes compared to conventional methods.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the speaking learning process and identify the obstacles faced by students in speaking lessons in the ninth grade. The research method used is qualitative with a descriptive approach, involving 20 students as research subjects. This study employs a descriptive method. The data sources for this research consist of interview results, observations, and written archives. The informants include teachers, school principals, and students. Data validity testing was carried out using source triangulation, method triangulation, and informant review. Data analysis was conducted using an interactive analysis model. The research results indicate that speaking lessons are still teacher-centered, with monotonous and less varied methods, leading to low student participation. Students tend to feel shy and lack confidence when asked to speak in front of the class. The challenges faced include a lack of engaging learning media, as well as internal and external factors that affect students' speaking abilities. This research provides recommendations to improve students' speaking skills through more interactive and creative learning methods, as well as support from the family and school environment.

Abstract

The general aim of this study is to enhance students' understanding of communication strategies in public spaces, particularly in the context of the presidential election debates. This research adopts a qualitative approach using critical discourse analysis methods to explore the phenomenon of the 2024 presidential election debates. The research data is collected from primary sources in the form of video recordings from YouTube, as well as secondary sources such as books and articles. The data collection techniques are conducted through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The research results show that the discourse built in the 2024 presidential election debate includes a variety of important themes, such as education, health, transportation, economy, diversity, and social inclusion. Each of these themes is expressed in a varied and strategic manner by the candidates to attract sympathy and attention from voters. This research also identifies that the delivery of arguments involves various styles of language, including a persuasive style that focuses on stirring the emotions of the audience, a pragmatic style that offers concrete solutions, and a millennial style that uses familiar language that is easy for the younger generation to understand. The analysis of macro structural elements shows that all these discourses are interconnected and have a strong relevance to the role of the presidential candidate as the leader of the nation. Meanwhile, the analysis of micro structural elements reveals the use of language rich in meaning, as well as rhetorical techniques designed to strengthen the appeal of the arguments.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the public speaking skills of sixth-grade students at SDN 2 Daleman through the utilization of YouTube as an audiovisual-based learning medium. Public speaking is a crucial component of oral communication competence that needs to be developed from an early age, as it influences students’ confidence, critical thinking, and ability to express ideas in public. Initial observations indicated that most students faced difficulties in structuring their speeches systematically, using proper pronunciation and intonation, and showing appropriate expression and vocal control during presentations. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach conducted in two cycles, each comprising planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The subjects were 17 sixth-grade students, consisting of 8 boys and 9 girls. Data were collected through observation, documentation, interviews, and speech performance tests. The success indicators were determined by the increase in the number of students who met the Minimum Mastery Criteria (MMC) of 75 and improvements in specific aspects of public speaking, including expression, pronunciation, intonation, voice volume, and content structure. The results showed a significant improvement in students’ public speaking skills through the use of YouTube media. In the pre-cycle stage, only 7 out of 17 students (41%) achieved the MMC. After the first cycle of implementation, the number increased to 10 students (58%). By the second cycle, 15 students (88%) met or exceeded the target. In addition to the quantitative improvement, qualitative enhancements were observed in students’ delivery of speech elements.Learning improvement was also evident across multiple performance aspects, such as clarity of pronunciation, appropriate expression, dynamic intonation, mastery of content, and proper vocal projection. The effective use of YouTube, particularly through a modeling approach featuring high-achieving students as role models, proved to be a powerful motivator and conceptual clarifier. Moreover, it enabled students to engage in self-reflection by watching their own recorded speeches. Therefore, YouTube serves not only as a visual aid but also as a strategic tool to enhance oral communication skills in the context of 21st-century learning.
