Abstract

This study aims to describe the community's perception of the implementation of PT. BEL's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program in Seunagan District, Nagan Raya Regency. This study uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach, in which researchers seek to understand the experiences and views of the Ring 1 community regarding the implementation of the company's CSR program. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews with community leaders, village officials, and program beneficiaries. The results of the study indicate that the community has a positive perception of PT. BEL's CSR program because it is considered to provide a real contribution to improving welfare, especially in the fields of education, health, social, and economics. However, the implementation of CSR is considered uneven and unsustainable because it still relies on proposals from the village government and there is a lack of transparency and coordination between the company and the local government. The implementation of PT. BEL's CSR program is also still short-term and does not have clear continuity, so its benefits have not been felt comprehensively by the community. Therefore, improved coordination, strategic planning, and periodic evaluation are needed so that CSR implementation can be more effective, inclusive, and sustainable in supporting the social and economic development of the communities around the company's operational areas.

Abstract

Cheating cases remain a serious problem in the world of education in Indonesia. According to the 2024 Education Integrity Assessment Survey (SPI) published by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in April 2025, 78% of schools still engage in cheating behavior. This study aims to investigate the relationship between self-efficacy and peer conformity in relation to cheating behavior among grade IX students. This study used a quantitative method with a sampling technique, namely cluster random sampling, involving 100 respondents. Data were collected through paper questionnaires distributed directly, which utilized three Likert scales: the Cheating Behavior Scale (26 items), the Self-Efficacy Scale (15 items), and the Peer Conformity Scale (20 items). After testing the assumptions and hypotheses, the results revealed a highly significant relationship between self-efficacy and peer conformity with cheating behavior among students, with a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.01). The minor hypothesis indicates a highly significant relationship between self-efficacy and cheating behavior (r = 0.887, p < 0.001) and between peer conformity and cheating behavior (r = 0.873, p < 0.001). This research can contribute to the educational environment, as influenced by psychological factors. This study aims to empirically investigate the relationship between self-efficacy and peer conformity in relation to cheating behavior among ninth-grade students. The findings of this study are expected to contribute to educational psychology by providing insight into factors related to cheating behavior.

Abstract

This study aims to explore how data transparency and digital participation influence public trust and government legitimacy in the contemporary era of open government. Through a qualitative literature-based approach, the research synthesizes recent theoretical and empirical findings published between 2015 and 2025, encompassing studies on transparency, e-participation, and institutional trust across diverse political and cultural contexts. Data were collected from reputable databases such as Scopus, ScienceDirect, and SpringerLink, and analyzed using qualitative content analysis to identify conceptual patterns and thematic relationships among the key constructs. The results indicate that data transparency enhances perceptions of government competence and integrity, while digital participation fosters inclusiveness and responsiveness, together generating a multidimensional form of legitimacy. However, these effects are contingent on the quality, accessibility, and sincerity of transparency practices as well as on the meaningfulness of participatory mechanisms. The study also finds that trust functions both as an outcome and as a mediating variable, moderating how citizens interpret openness and accountability. Theoretically, this research contributes to the integration of Legitimacy Theory and Trust Theory by demonstrating that legitimacy in the digital era is co-produced through communicative interaction and ethical transparency. Managerially, the findings imply that open government must evolve toward sustainable governance by institutionalizing transparency and digital participation as continuous, ethical, and inclusive processes. The study concludes that enduring legitimacy requires adaptive institutions capable of aligning openness with technological transformation, citizen expectations, and responsible data stewardship.

Abstract

Digital transformation is prompting educational institutions to refine their academic governance and learning strategies to be more adaptable, innovative, and responsive to the needs of digital-generation students. In this context, this study aims to analyze the Utilization of Digital Learning Media from the Perspective of Educational Management in the Era of Merdeka Belajar Curriculum at an Islamic College. This research employed a mixed-methods approach, combining survey techniques, field observations, and document analysis. The research subjects included students and lecturers from various study programs that have intensively implemented digital-based learning models. The results indicate a significant increase in the use of digital learning media during the 2024–2025 period. WhatsApp is the most dominant academic communication platform, used by 95% of students and lecturers for fast and flexible academic coordination. Google Classroom has been utilized by 70% of the academic community as a platform for submitting assignments, assessing student progress, and disseminating learning materials. However, challenges remain, such as limited internet access for students in rural areas and the need for lecturers to increase their capacity in using learning technology effectively. From an educational management perspective, coordination of digital media utilization has begun to be organized through the management of digital platforms at the study program level. However, implementation remains uneven across academic units. This research makes an important contribution to the development of a digital-based education management model in the Era of Merdeka Belajar, particularly in the context of Islamic higher education institutions that face unique challenges in balancing modernity and Islamic values.

Abstract

Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) constitute the backbone of economic diversification and employment generation in developing economies, including Nigeria. Despite their strategic relevance, SME sustainability is challenged by limited access to comprehensive support services, particularly psychosocial and advisory interventions. This study investigated the guidance and counselling needs of SME owners across Zamfara State, Nigeria, with an emphasis on three major entrepreneurial hubs: Gusau, Talata Mafara, and Kaura Namoda Local Government Areas (LGAs). A descriptive survey research design was employed, targeting registered SME owners and operators across the state's fourteen LGAs. Based on data from the Zamfara State Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Cooperative Services, there are 1,236 registered SMEs distributed across all 14 LGAs. Utilizing Yamane's (1967) formula with a 5% margin of error, a sample of 303 respondents was drawn through stratified random sampling to ensure a proportional representation across all local government areas (LGAs). Data were collected using a structured questionnaire with validated scales measuring demographics, entrepreneurial performance indicators, perceived counselling needs and barriers to accessing support services. The instrument demonstrated acceptable internal consistency (Cronbach's α = 0.81). Results, analyzed through descriptive statistics and multiple regression analysis, revealed a significant positive relationship between access to counselling services and business performance (F = 3,299) = 7.21, p < .01; Adjusted R² = 0.61). Specifically, 83% of respondents reported never accessing formal counselling services, while 91% expressed a strong need for strategic guidance in stress management, decision-making, and business planning. Entrepreneurs with access to mentorship demonstrated 23% higher productivity. The study concludes that entrepreneurial counselling frameworks should be institutionalized within local business development agencies across all 14 LGAs. The practical implications for policy formulation, theoretical advancement, and SME development programming are discussed.

Abstract

This study is to evaluate the execution of Sistem Informasi Kearsipan Dinamis Terintegrasi (SRIKANDI) at secondary educational institutions within Riau Islands Province to facilitate the digitalization of regional archive management. The research backdrop is founded on the necessity for archival modernization in island regions confronting geographical obstacles, restricted internet access, and disparities in human resource competencies. The study employs a descriptive qualitative methodology, utilizing data gathering approaches such as observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis employs the interactive model of Miles & Huberman, whilst the efficacy of policy execution is assessed by four theoretical indicators proposed by Edwards III: communication, resources, disposition, and bureaucratic structure. The research findings indicate that the adoption of SRIKANDI at the secondary school level is beneficial. Communication among the education department, schools, and technical implementers is maintained by regular socialization and training. Human resources and supporting infrastructure are deemed sufficient for the digitization of archives; nonetheless, many schools in remote areas continue to encounter limitations in internet connectivity and technical adaptation. The executor's disposition demonstrates a strong commitment and favorable acceptance of the digital system. An explicit bureaucratic framework, encompassing systematic reporting and oversight systems, facilitates the effective execution of policies. In summary, SRIKANDI has demonstrated enhancements in administrative efficiency, file management organization, and public transparency and accountability. The study advocates for enhanced technical support, the optimization of the application throughout the archiving process, and additional investigation into the influence of SRIKANDI on various managerial dimensions within the educational context.

Abstract

This study examines how narratives of power are produced, configured, and reinterpreted in Indonesian political discourse, utilizing Paul Ricoeur's narrative hermeneutics. In contemporary politics, actors rely on storytelling as a legitimation strategy, exercising power through symbolic constructions. Applying Ricoeur's threefold mimesis, this research analyzes political speeches and media discourse as texts shaping collective experience. The analysis reveals that narratives of power are built upon stable patterns such as morality, nationalism, and stability. In mimesis I, oligarchic dominance and leader personalization serve as pre-understandings for political stories. Mimesis II demonstrates how political actors weave metaphors to produce coherent leadership narratives. Finally, in mimesis III, audiences refigure these narratives based on their experiential horizons within digital spaces. The study concludes that Ricoeur's hermeneutics provides a powerful critical tool for examining power reproduction and legitimacy, offering a framework for ideological critique and interpretation-based political studies.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze actor participation in the public policy network of village financial management in Lebao Village, East Solor District, East Flores Regency. This study focuses on three research questions: (1) the level of actor participation in the public policy network of village financial management, (2) the factors influencing actor participation, and (3) the mechanisms for strengthening participation within the public policy network of village financial management. This study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data collection techniques included in-depth interviews, direct non-participation of observation, and documentation, which were subsequently analyzed using the interactive analysis model of Miles and Huberman. The study involves four key informants selected through purposive sampling: the Village Head, members of the Village Consultative Body (BPD), a neighborhood head (RT), and a female representative. The results indicate that actor participation in the public policy network of village financial management in Lebao Village is formally high through village deliberation forums. However, participation remains influenced by the dominance of key actors, particularly the village government and the BPD. Factors affecting participation include individual motivation, community literacy capacity, information transparency, leadership style, and power structure within the policy network. Mechanisms for strengthening participation are carried out through active community involvement in deliberation forums, transparent information dissemination, capacity building, and implementing open evaluation forums. The main challenges identified are the limited availability of public information media and the suboptimal involvement of external actors in the policy network

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the relationship between interpersonal communication and job satisfaction among restaurant employees in Deli Serdang Regency, Indonesia. This study employed a quantitative approach with a correlational research design. The population consisted of 67 restaurant employees, and all members of the population were selected as research participants through a total sampling technique. Data were collected using Likert-scale questionnaires developed based on dimensions of interpersonal communication and job satisfaction. Prior to data collection, the research instruments were tested for validity and reliability to ensure the quality and consistency of the measurement. Data analysis was conducted using Pearson’s product-moment correlation technique with the assistance of statistical software. The findings revealed a significant positive relationship between interpersonal communication and job satisfaction (r = 0.57, p < 0.01). The correlation coefficient indicates that interpersonal communication has a moderately strong association with employee job satisfaction. Furthermore, interpersonal communication contributed 32.49% to the variance in job satisfaction, while the remaining percentage was influenced by factors beyond the scope of this study. These findings suggest that better interpersonal communication among employees and between supervisors and subordinates is associated with higher job satisfaction among restaurant employees. This study highlights the importance of interpersonal communication in fostering a conducive, open, and supportive work environment to enhance employee well-being and work quality, particularly within the restaurant industry, which is characterized by intensive teamwork and social interactions.

Abstract

This study examines the performance of internal archival supervision within the Riau Islands Provincial Government amid digital archival transformation. Although archival management has shifted toward electronic systems, supervisory practices and archival audits remain largely manual and administrative. The study aims to analyze the effectiveness of internal archival supervision, identify implementation challenges to strengthen supervisory systems. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach using interviews, observations, and documentation involving archivists, government officials, Internal Archival Audit Reports (LAKI) verifiers, and archival from several Regional Government Organizations (OPD). Secondary data were obtained from LAKI, archival regulations, and related literature. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model. The findings show that internal archival supervision has not adapted optimally to digital transformation. Based on George R. Terry’s supervisory theory, the stages of setting standards, measuring performance, and correcting deviations are still dominated by administrative and compliance-oriented approaches. Although several agencies have implemented SRIKANDI, supervision is still conducted manually through physical document verification and conventional audit procedures. Consequently, monitoring and evaluation remain fragmented and less effective in providing real-time control. Major obstacles include limited digital integration, insufficient archival human resources, weak follow-up mechanisms, and inadequate institutional support. The study concludes that digital archival transformation must be accompanied by integrated digital supervisory systems, competency enhancement, and institutional strengthening to support adaptive and sustainable archival governance.
