Abstract

This study was conducted as part of the Internship Program (PKL) of the Statistics Study Program, carried out in the administrative editorial management division of the BAREKENG Journal. The activities included collecting and processing publication data to support the evaluation of editorial performance and the mapping of the journal’s internationalization process. This research aims to analyze trends in the diversity of domestic and international authors in BAREKENG Journal publications during the 2007–2025 period. The data were obtained from the journal’s publication archives and processed through several stages, including author affiliation classification, grouping by publication period, and analyzing the development of domestic and international author proportions. The analysis was conducted using descriptive quantitative methods and presented in the form of trend graphs. The results show that the number of domestic authors increased significantly after 2020, reaching 864 authors in 2025. Contributions from international authors first appeared in 2021 and continued to grow, with the highest number recorded at 61 authors in 2025. These findings indicate that the BAREKENG Journal is not only growing at the national level but is also beginning to attract attention from the international academic community. This study is expected to provide an overview of the dynamics of author contributions and the journal’s position in the internationalization process, as well as serve as a basis for strengthening future journal management strategies.

Abstract

Limitations in design skills and costs are obstacles for MSMEs to create an attractive visual identity or branding. Community service aims to provide an alternative solution to the problems faced by MSMEs under the auspices of the Indonesian Hands Foundation regarding their business logos through training using Canva-based digital applications. The activity implementation method includes the following stages: preparation, implementation with the learning by doing method (lectures, demonstrations, and direct practice), and activity evaluation. The activity was implemented on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Nusa Mandiri Jatiwaringin University. Of the 20 training participants, the questionnaire results showed high participant enthusiasm. The results of the questionnaire analysis, participants of productive age (35-50 years) and the elderly (> 50 years) were the majority. The results showed a level of satisfaction with an average perception of committee services of 90.47% and the usefulness of the activity results of 91.69%. Real solutions were generated from this training for the participants, increased skills in utilizing science and technology, and the participants' confidence to be more enthusiastic about promoting their businesses

Abstract

Mathematics education in the 21st century is closely related to the development of digital technology, which is expected to attract students' interest in learning, help them understand mathematical concepts, and achieve more optimal learning. This community service program aims to provide assistance to junior high school/MTs mathematics teachers so that they can produce digital-based learning media products. The service method uses ABCD by managing and utilizing the assets, strengths, and potential of teachers, students, and schools in developing digital media-based mathematics learning. The steps taken in this service are 1) Discovery by analyzing the conditions of teachers, 2) Dream with the hope of realizing interactive digital media-based mathematics learning that has an impact on students in the classroom. In this case, teachers can create digital media in the form of digital student worksheets using Live Worksheets and Canva, create test questions using Wordwall, discussion forums using Padlet, and present geometry and algebra images using Geogebra. 3) Design by designing a community service model in the form of assistance in several stages, 4) Define by fixing the schedule for assistance activities, and 5) Destiny by implementing the fixed community service design based on the analysis of conditions. The results of the community service carried out for junior high school/MTs mathematics teachers in Samarinda City showed that teachers were able to create digital media-based learning media in the form of Geogebra, Canva, digital worksheets or live worksheets, Wordwall, and Padlet. In addition, teachers can apply digital media created in mathematics learning in the classroom. Digital media created using free and easily accessible applications, either offline or online, using devices such as mobile phones, laptops, or computers/PCs.

Abstract

The Merdeka Curriculum emphasizes the importance of deep learning as an effort to enhance students’ conceptual understanding, particularly in mathematics education. However, its implementation in elementary schools still faces various challenges, especially related to teachers’ limited understanding in designing and conducting meaningful learning experiences. This community service program aims to improve the pedagogical competencies of elementary school teachers in Ambon City through training and mentoring on the implementation of Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) as an approach to achieving deep learning. The program consisted of four stages: planning, implementation, evaluation, and reflection. The implementation methods included lectures, question-and-answer sessions, discussions, and guided discovery practices. The results show an improvement in teachers’ understanding of deep learning through the application of RME in mathematics teaching, particularly in the domains of number and geometry. The training was rated highly in terms of participant enthusiasm throughout the process and based on satisfaction questionnaire responses. Teachers are expected to design deep learning activities that apply RME principles, involving students as active learning agents, incorporating students’ real-life experiences, and encouraging further exploration and mathematical reasoning. Thus, this program provides a positive contribution to the improvement of the quality of mathematics learning in elementary schools and supports the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in Ambon City.

Abstract

Higher education institutions in archipelagic regions face persistent challenges in scientific journal governance, limiting the visibility of lecturers’ scholarly contributions and constraining institutional publication capacity. STKIP Hunimua, located in the Maluku archipelagic region of Indonesia, experiences similar constraints, particularly in the absence of systematically and sustainably managed internal journal platforms. This community service initiative was conducted under the “Teaching Assistance 2025” Program of Pattimura University at STKIP Hunimua, East Seram Regency, Maluku Province. The program aimed to initiate and strengthen scientific journal development through structured academic mentoring. A participatory assistance approach was employed, actively engaging partner lecturers in scientific writing workshops, journal governance training, strategic planning discussions, and the facilitation of a journal management team. The program resulted in the establishment of two scholarly journals – HUNIMUA: Jurnal Pendidikan Kepulauan and UKARBATI: Jurnal Pengabdian Kepulauan – along with the development of an Open Journal System (OJS)-based platform (https://journal.stkiphunimua.ac.id). Additionally, lecturers demonstrated increased literacy and engagement in scholarly publishing practices. Beyond producing tangible outputs in the form of online journals, the initiative fostered a more proactive academic culture and strengthened institutional commitment to sustainable journal management. This program contributes to enhancing the academic capacity of higher education institutions in remote island contexts and demonstrates that collaborative, structured interventions can effectively establish viable scientific publication platforms, thereby supporting equitable participation in the digital transformative era in alignment with the vision of “Impactful Campus – Advanced Indonesia”.
