Abstract

Digital transformation has brought about major changes in the world of education. Many applications have been created to facilitate learning in the classroom. GeoGebra is one such application that has been developed with simpler features so that students can apply it effectively. Community service activities are an important moment for universities to disseminate their research results. The Mathematics Education Study Program also takes part in efforts to improve the quality of education in Maluku through community service programs (PkM) based on research conducted by lecturers and collaborations between lecturers and students, particularly those related to the use of GeoGebra. This activity is necessary because mathematics is abstract in nature, making it difficult for many students to understand the material well. This condition was also found during the initial observation by the community service team at SMP Negeri 30 Maluku Tengah. Therefore, mathematics education lecturers and students conducted community service (PkM) at SMP Negeri 30 Maluku Tengah with a seminar and training approach, one of which was about the use of GeoGebra in linear function graph material. The students' responses showed that (1) Students felt that GeoGebra helped them solve math problems (mean of 4.04 with a good rating); (2) The development of GeoGebra software was easier to apply so that students could use it well (mean of 3.92 with good criteria); and (3) Students were more enthusiastic about learning mathematics and wanted better grades from their mathematics learning (mean of 3.93 with good criteria).

Abstract

The community service activity was carried out in Margosuko Village, Bancar District, Tuban Regency aims to improve the soft skills and hard skills of farmers group to reduce environmental pollution caused by poorly managed livestock waste. Livestock waste will be processed into solid and liquid organic fertilizers, so it will reduce the dependence on chemical fertilizers through the initiation of independent organic fertilizer production from livestock waste. The implementation method begins with participatory preparation (coordination of farmer groups, preparation of Local Microorganisms (MOL) from mimosa roots, and provision of a compost reactor). The activity then continued with blended learning training for 20 farmers with theoretical material on the impact of waste and simultaneous fermentation practices for 2 weeks. The next stage is 2 months of intensive mentoring to solve technical problems in the field. The successful of the program has seen from the increase in the level of empowerment in managing livestock waste. The indicators used are the level of knowledge and the amount of livestock waste that can be managed. The evaluation results show that there has been an increase level of knowledge regarding cattle farm waste management as seen from the average pretest score which was initially 60.1 to 87.55 in the posttest. Meanwhile, the amount of livestock waste that has been successfully processed on to organic fertilizer is around 30%.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has brought significant changes in education, including in the learning process. However, teachers in remote areas such as Leihitu Barat District, Central Maluku, still face limitations in digital competence and infrastructure, which hinder the optimal use of educational technology. Based on these conditions, this community service program was carried out with the aim of improving teachers’ digital competence through training on the use of the Edukati-based Learning Management System (LMS). The activities involved several stages, including preparation, face-to-face training, hands-on practice using the LMS, online mentoring after the training, and evaluation through pre-test and post-test. The results indicated a significant improvement in participants’ understanding and skills. Before the training, all teachers had no knowledge of LMS and no prior experience in using it. After the training, all participants understood the basic functions of LMS, and 75% were able to operate Edukati’s key features, such as creating digital classes, uploading materials, and designing learning assessments. Teachers’ readiness level increased from 4.2% (not ready) to 82.1% (ready). Nevertheless, limited devices, unstable internet access, and the absence of technical staff remain challenges in implementation. Teachers’ enthusiasm, the support of a WhatsApp community, and the openness of partner schools to digital innovation provide opportunities for program sustainability. Therefore, the Edukati LMS training proved effective in improving teachers’ digital literacy and is essential as a strategic step to strengthen digital culture in education, particularly in remote areas

Abstract

Mathematics learning in elementary schools focuses on the development of conceptual understanding aimed at enhancing logical, analytical, and creative thinking skills, as well as their ability to solve real-life problems. Conceptual understanding of mathematics can be achieved through various approaches, one of which is the utilization of technology-based learning media, such as educational videos. The topics of Least Common Multiple (LCM) and Greatest Common Divisor (GCD) are among the essential materials taught in elementary schools that often cause difficulties for students in understanding and applying the concepts correctly. The community service activity aims to improve students’ understanding of mathematical concepts, particularly LCM and GCD, through the implementation of technology-based learning using educational videos. In addition, the activity seeks to foster students’ learning motivation and interest in mathematics and to provide teachers with innovative and engaging alternative teaching methods. The implementation method consists of three main stages: (1) preparation of learning media, including educational videos and student worksheets (LKPD), (2) classroom implementation at State Elementary School 283, Central Maluku Regency, where students watched the educational videos, worked in small groups of 4 -5 to complete the worksheets, and presented their results in front of the class, and (3) reflection, in which students provided written feedback on their learning experiences. The results indicate that the use of educational videos in mathematics learning effectively enhanced students’ understanding of LCM and GCD concepts, created a more interactive and enjoyable learning atmosphere, and increased students’ enthusiasm for learning. Teachers also benefited from the activity, as it provided a more engaging and effective teaching approach. Overall. The program successfully achieved its objectives and is expected to continue to further deepen students’ mathematical understanding and improve the quality of mathematics learning in elementary schools

Abstract

The socialization of partnerships between teachers and parents in the implementation of deep learning is a strategic effort to build a collaborative educational environment centered on students’ needs. The main goal of this activity is to strengthen mutual understanding of the importance of synergy between teachers and parents in supporting a meaningful, reflective, and sustainable learning process. The socialization was carried out through discussions, counseling sessions, and the exchange of experiences and best practices between schools and parents. The results show that open communication and strong cooperation enhance support for character development, critical thinking skills, and students’ learning independence. Furthermore, this activity fosters a shared commitment to creating a positive learning atmosphere both at school and at home. Therefore, collaboration between teachers and parents in deep learning serves as a key element in improving the quality of education and can be used as a model for other schools, especially in areas with similar socio-cultural and geographical conditions.
