Abstract

Preparing for the Computer-Based Written Examination (UTBK) poses a significant challenge for high school students, not only in terms of academic mastery but also in mental readiness to face exam pressure. One of the main issues identified is math anxiety, which can disrupt concentration and lower academic performance. To address this challenge, the SMART UTBK program was developed as a comprehensive approach that integrates anxiety management strategies with competency strengthening through UTBK-style practice questions. The program includes educational webinars that discuss techniques to overcome math anxiety and offer practical tips for solving UTBK math problems, as well as online tryout sessions designed to simulate real test conditions. A total of 100 senior high school students participated in this initiative. Evaluation results indicated that over 70% of participants found the math anxiety material helpful in managing excessive exam-related stress and reported improved understanding of problem-solving strategies. The tryout sessions were also considered representative and effective in helping students assess their readiness in a realistic context. This program not only addresses technical knowledge needs but also provides the psychological support essential for students facing university entrance exams. The SMART UTBK program underscores the importance of integrative interventions, demonstrating that equipping students both psychologically and academically can significantly enhance their emotional and cognitive preparedness

Abstract

The low participation of students in the Student Creativity Program (PKM) is due to a lack of understanding and experience in proposal writing, even though PKM is a crucial platform for developing students' academic and non-academic potential. This community service program was initiated to enhance the capacity of students from the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program (PBSI) at Universitas Pattimura to compete at the national PKM level. The method involved socialization, technical training, intensive mentoring, and proposal evaluation. Evaluation was based on active student participation in each stage and the quality of proposals produced, with success indicators including the number of groups formed, improved conceptual understanding, and proposal readiness according to national standards. The results showed a 100% increase in participation—from zero to four student groups submitting proposals, consisting of one PKM-AI group and three PKM-RSH groups. The quality of proposals also improved in terms of structure, originality, and feasibility. Sustainability strategies included establishing the PBSI PKM Community and involving alumni as active mentors. This program demonstrated that a structured training and mentoring approach can significantly enhance student preparedness in PKM competitions

Abstract

This community service activity aims to assist Kelurahan Arjosari in restructuring its administrative system more effectively and efficiently through the development of a village administration application built with Microsoft Excel and Visual Basic for Applications (VBA). Based on initial observations, the administrative processes in the kelurahan were still conducted manually, leading to slow public service delivery and a high risk of errors. The developed application is designed to integrate with the village's population database, automate the generation of documents based on National Identification Numbers (NIK), and provide automatic data validation features. Through Focus Group Discussions (FGD) and the official launching of the application, local officials were actively involved in the planning and training phases. Evaluation results show that the application is easy to use, accelerates the document service process, and improves administrative data accuracy. This initiative has had a positive impact on the quality of public services at the local level and serves as a model for applying simple but effective technology to support digital transformation in village governance

Abstract

The family is the primary space for cultivating values of justice and gender equality. However, in Negeri Hukurila, Ambon City, family education patterns remain gender-biased. Male and female roles are often rigidly distinguished, limiting women’s voices in household decision-making and confining girls to domestik spheres while boys are encouraged toward public roles. Such conditions risk perpetuating gender inequality and hindering children’s equal development. This community service program aimed to raise public awareness of inclusive and gender-responsive family education through participatory approaches grounded in local wisdom. Methods included socialization, training, technology application, and evaluation that involving traditional leaders, saniri negeri, religious figures, youth, and women. The results demonstrate increased community understanding of gender-responsive family concepts, greater equality in family dialogue, and the revitalization of local practices such as masohi (mutual cooperation) as a symbol of just family collaboration. The novelty of this program lies in integrating local wisdom to build family education patterns that respect gender equality, positioning indigenous communities as key agents of change. The study concludes that gender-responsive family education is well accepted when delivered through culturally relevant approaches. Future recommendations include expanding cross-sector collaboration, strengthening local cadres as change agents, and encouraging community-level policies to sustain inclusive family practices

Abstract

This community service aims to improve the quality of chemistry learning at SMA Negeri 45 Maluku Tengah, which has limited laboratory facilities. The majority of students come from farming and fishing families, offering potential for integrating local natural resources into contextual learning. The main challenge for the school is the scarcity of practical tools and materials, leading to difficulties for students in understanding abstract chemical concepts and reducing their interest in learning. Based on these issues, community service activities were designed to introduce simple laboratory tools and materials and develop students' experimental skills. The methodology included preparing materials and equipment (glassware, common reagents), forming a mentoring team consisting of chemistry lecturers and students, socializing the activities, conducting direct practical sessions in small groups with demonstrations, as well as analyzing results and discussions. The results showed an improvement in students' understanding and interest through active participation in practical sessions on introducing glassware, acid-base titration, hydrogen gas formation, and carbon dioxide gas identification tests. Direct observation and question-and-answer sessions indicated that students were able to understand the function of tools, perform titrations correctly, observe chemical reactions, and identify gases. The evaluation demonstrated the program's effectiveness in enhancing students' understanding and practical skills, bridging the theory-practice gap, and fostering interest in chemistry learning

Abstract

Marine plastic waste in Palang Village, Tuban Regency, has caused serious environmental problems, such as water pollution, declining fish catches, and health disturbances due to microplastics. This community service initiative aims to address these issues through the implementation of RECYFUEL pyrolysis technology, which converts plastic waste into alternative energy (diesel) while empowering the Putera Bahari Youth Group. Implementation methods include socialization, technology application training, mentoring and evaluation, and program sustainability measures. The results show an increase in the partners' empowerment level in Management Aspects (100% of partners mastered waste management and financial reporting), Production Aspects (90% of partners were able to independently produce diesel), and Marketing Aspects (90% of partners were able to market diesel products to local fishermen). A total of 50% of plastic waste was successfully processed into diesel, with a conversion rate of 1 kg of plastic yielding 300–400 ml of diesel, along with the creation of a new profitable business opportunity. This program not only reduces environmental pollution but also enhances the economic income of the community. Thus, RECYFUEL technology proves to be an effective and sustainable solution for plastic waste management and the empowerment of coastal communities
