Abstract

This study aims to improve students' understanding of the System of Linear Equations in Two Variables (SPLDV) through the application of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model to ninth-grade students. The low understanding of the SPLDV concept is caused by teacher-centered learning and the lack of active student involvement in the problem-solving process. This study used a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach, implemented in two cycles, with each cycle encompassing planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subjects were ninth-grade students. Data collection techniques included conceptual understanding tests, observation of student activities, and documentation. The results showed an increase in students' understanding of the SPLDV material after the implementation of the PBL model. This was demonstrated by an increase in the average learning outcome score and student activeness in the learning process in each cycle. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of the Problem-Based Learning model is effective in improving students' understanding of the SPLDV material in ninth-grade students.

Abstract

This article examines the methodology of discovering and developing Islamic law, starting from the premise that Islamic law has two dimensions: divine law on the one hand, and human-made law on the other. The relationship between text (nash), reason, and social reality is mapped into two paradigms, namely the structural paradigm, which places text as the dominant structure, and the functional paradigm, which emphasizes dynamic and diait dsignificanceetween the three entities. This article shows that the methodology of legal discovery in the ushul al-fiqh tradition (bayānī, ta‘līlī, and istiṣlāḥī) is generally rooted in the structural paradigm, with naṣh as the main normative (structural) source. This paradigm experienced a crisis when confronted with modern social reality. It is in this context that a model of Islamic legal reform emerged, moving within a functional paradigm. This reform is articulated in two forms. First, religious utilitarianism, which focuses on the development of lawad on maslahah thenstudy'sasid al-shariah. Second, religious liberalism, which emphasizes rationality, social context, and ethical-historical dimensions in the reading of texts. Neither of these two schools of thought negates the authority of the text, but rather presents a productive dialectic model between revelation, reason, and reality, in order to produce more responsive laws.

Abstract

Syuf'ah is a legal institution in transactions aimed at protecting joint owners from potential losses resulting from the transfer of rights to third parties. This article examines the views of Islamic jurisprudence schools regarding the subject, object, and conditions for implementing syuf'ah, and analyzes the similarities and differences in the opinions of scholars. This research uses a juridical-normative method through a literature review of hadith evidence and the opinions of jurists. The study results show that all schools of thought agree on the validity of syuf'ah based on authentic hadith. This similarity of opinion is evident in the basic requirements of syuf'ah, namely joint ownership, an undivided object, immediate demand, and payment at the same price. Differences of opinion arise in determining the subject and object of syuf'ah, particularly regarding the extension of rights to neighbors and the scope of property, which are influenced by differences in istinbath methods, particularly the use of qiyas. This study confirms that the differences between schools of thought are methodological and do not eliminate the main objective of syuf'ah as an instrument to maintain public welfare, legal certainty, and justice in joint ownership.

Abstract

The implementation of social welfare policies requires accurate and up-to-date databases so that social assistance can be distributed appropriately. The Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS) plays a strategic role as national master data in determining the targets of social protection programs. This study aims to analyze the implementation of DTKS management in Pangkalan Baru Village, Siak Hulu Subdistrict, Kampar Regency, using George C. Edward III's policy implementation model, which covers the aspects of communication, resources, disposition, and bureaucratic structure. The study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Research informants were determined purposively, including village officials, the DTKS verification team from the Kampar Regency Social Service, and Beneficiary Families (KPM). Data collection techniques were carried out through in-depth interviews and documentation, while data analysis used the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the implementation of DTKS in Pangkalan Baru Village had been carried out in accordance with national guidelines and had a clear bureaucratic structure. However, its implementation still faced obstacles in the form of limited human resources, information technology facilities, and a multi-level and relatively slow bureaucratic process. These conditions have an impact on data updates that are not yet fully optimal and have the potential to affect the accuracy of social assistance targets. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen the capacity of village officials, improve cross-sector coordination, and optimize digital systems to support more effective, accurate, and sustainable DTKS management.

Abstract

Mangrove degradation is an environmental issue that has a significant impact on the sustainability of coastal areas. Rupat Island, as a coastal region in Riau Province, is experiencing pressure on its mangrove ecosystem due to land use change and weak regulatory control over spatial utilization. This study aims to analyze the degradation of mangrove land on Rupat Island from the perspective of spatial law, emphasizing the alignment between normative regulations and the practical utilization of space at the regional level. The research employs a normative-empirical approach through a review of legislation in spatial planning and forestry, supported by field observations and interviews. The study reveals that the primary issue of mangrove degradation on Rupat Island is not caused by a lack of legal framework, but rather by the failure in the implementation of spatial law, which is reflected in weak supervision, inconsistent application of sanctions, and the lack of synchronization between spatial plans and actual land use practices. Additionally, the research finds that spatial law has not effectively functioned as an instrument for controlling spatial utilization because it is more administratively oriented rather than preventive or repressive against environmental violations. This study contributes by affirming the position of spatial law as a determining factor in mangrove degradation in coastal areas and implies the need for strengthening the enforcement of spatial law through consistent oversight, the imposition of strict sanctions, and the harmonization of central and local policies as prerequisites for sustainable mangrove protection..

Abstract

This paper aims to identify and analyze the challenges faced by law schools in Indonesia in welcoming the new era of the Indonesian Criminal Code (KUHP) and the Code of Criminal Procedure (KUHAP). The research employs a descriptive qualitative methodology, utilizing library research techniques to gather data from relevant literature, books, documents, and journals. An introduction and data analysis were conducted to gain a deeper understanding of the issues discussed. The findings indicate that law schools face several key challenges, including the need to update the legal education curriculum to make it more applicable and relevant to modern societal needs. Additionally, enhancing faculty competencies through continuous training programs to teach new material is another significant challenge. Learning methods that emphasize practical experience, such as legal clinics and mock trials, are essential to help students apply legal theories in practice. Collaboration with law enforcement agencies is also a critical factor in preparing graduates who are not only technically competent but also ethical and understand the values of justice within the new legal framework. With collaboration among various stakeholders, legal education in Indonesia is expected to produce a new generation of skilled legal practitioners who can respond effectively to future legal challenges.

Abstract

Improving English speaking skills is one of the important aspects in language education, especially for students at The State of Islmic Collage (STAI Ma'arif) Sampang who are preparing to communicate in a global context. In this digital era, digital media offers a new approach that allows students to learn flexibly, listen to native languages, and practice independently. This study was conducted to understand the extent to what digital media have a role in improving students' English speaking skills at The State of Islmic Collage (STAI Ma'arif) Sampang, the types of media most often used, and the supporting and inhibiting factors that affect its effectiveness. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study design to explore students' experiences and perceptions of the use of digital media in learning to speak. Data were obtained through in depth interview and observation to students who frequently use language learning apps and online communication platforms. The purposive sampling technique was chosen to ensure participants had relevant first-hand experience, while thematic analysis was used to identify patterns and themes from the data collected. The results show that digital media plays a significant role in supporting students'. English speaking skills. Platforms such as YouTube, Zoom and language learning apps provide authentic materials and flexible in speaking spaces practice, which help students to improve vocabulary, pronunciation and their confidence. However, the research also found that there are inhibiting factors, such as limited internet access and lack of direct guidance from instructors, which can affect students' consistency in utilizing digital media.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of financial management, financial literacy, and capital on the financial performance of MSMEs in Pekanbaru City. The sample size was 98 MSMEs registered with the Cooperatives Office from various sectors. The test instruments used were validity and reliability tests, multiple regression, simultaneous tests, and determination tests.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the challenges faced by XYZ Firm in the tax reporting process using the Core Tax system, and to evaluate the solutions implemented to address those challenges. Core Tax, introduced by the Directorate General of Taxes (DGT), seeks to modernize Indonesia’s tax administration by enhancing efficiency and transparency. However, issues such as system downtime, user adaptation difficulties, and data inconsistencies emerged during its implementation. Through interviews and surveys with tax consultants and employees at XYZ, this study found that a lack of training and outreach was a key obstacle. In response, XYZ implemented intensive training programs, leveraged technology, and improved communication with the DGT to receive technical support. The findings indicate that although challenges persist, the implemented solutions have enhanced the effectiveness of the tax reporting process. This research is expected to provide valuable insights for the development of Indonesia’s tax system and offer practical recommendations for further improvements in the implementation of Core Tax

Abstract

This study aims to improve the learning focus of Grade VII-A students at SMP Islam Ar Rofi'iyyah on integer material through the application of the 'Varied Claps' ice breaking at the beginning of learning. The research uses Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subjects were 28 students of Class VII-A. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed a significant increase in student learning focus. In the pre-cycle, the percentage of focused students was only 42.86%. After applying the 'Varied Claps' ice breaking in Cycle I, the percentage increased to 67.86%. In Cycle II, with improvements in the ice breaking application, the percentage reached 85.71%. This increase is supported by qualitative data showing students were more enthusiastic, ready to learn, and actively participated. The conclusion is that the application of 'Varied Claps' ice breaking is effective in increasing student learning focus on integer material.
