Abstract

This research aims to implement the 2013 curriculum through the problem-based learning (PBL) model in science education to improve the activity and learning outcomes of seventh-grade students at SMPIT Arrahmah, specifically on the classification of substances with concepts in Cycle I focusing on acids, bases, and salts, while Cycle II covers natural indicators. The study was conducted on a class of 20 students and one teacher. The research subjects were determined based on the consideration of the science teacher and the researcher. The learning model used was problem-based learning. Data were obtained through pre-tests before the lessons were conducted and post-tests after the lessons, along with student experiment activities and teacher activities during each cycle of the learning process. The pre-test and post-test were used to assess students' learning outcomes (gain index) in each cycle, as PBL was applied in the classroom. The evaluation tool for learning outcomes was multiple-choice tests to assess the improvement in students' understanding of mixtures, acids, bases, and salts. Based on the analysis of the learning process, improving students' activity and learning outcomes through the PBL model in science education resulted in an 82% improvement in activity (Cycle I) and 89% (Cycle II), teacher achievement in teaching increased from 79.31% (Cycle I) to 96% (Cycle II). Learning outcomes in the affective domain improved by 72% (Cycle I) and 96% (Cycle II), while the cognitive domain had a gain index of 0.44 (Cycle I, moderate category) and 0.64 (Cycle II, high category). The psychomotor domain increased from 75% (Cycle I) to 86% (Cycle II). The students' response to the PBL model in learning the human nervous system showed a positive response, with 92% liking science, 85% preparing for lessons, 85% understanding the material, 97% appreciating the presence of acids, bases, and salts in life, and 88% collaborating in groups.

Abstract

Deep learning-based instructional strategies have been increasingly applied in Science and Social Studies (IPAS) education to enhance students' conceptual understanding and critical thinking skills. This study aims to review various IPAS teaching strategies that adopt deep learning principles through a systematic analysis of literature from the past five years. The research method employed is a systematic review of academic sources discussing the implementation of deep learning strategies in IPAS education. The synthesis results indicate that strategies such as Project-Based Learning, Problem-Based Learning, and collaborative learning are highly effective in improving student learning outcomes. Additionally, the integration of digital technology plays a crucial role in supporting the implementation of deep learning-based education. However, several challenges in its application were identified, including limited resources and teacher readiness in designing lessons that facilitate in-depth exploration. Therefore, further development of adaptable implementation models and enhanced teacher competencies are necessary to optimize deep learning-based instructional strategies in IPAS education.

Abstract

The use of X-rays in the health/medical field is used to diagnose of patient diseases, and for therapy. However, X-rays not only provide health benefits, but can also cause adverse effects for radiation officers, patients, and the general public. This research aims to analyze the understanding of Physics students at Universitas Negeri Gorontalo about X-rays. This research method uses descriptive research with a quantitative approach. The research instrument used was an understanding test sheet distributed to 24 respondents. Based on the results of the data analysis, overall it is known that the understanding of Physics students at Universitas Negeri Gorontalo about X-rays is 75.8%, or is in the Very Good criteria. This shows that most students are able to understand X-rays.

Abstract

Research on the application of the TGT type cooperative model using the wordwall application in improving student learning outcomes is motivated by the low student learning outcomes in physics material. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the TGT type cooperative learning model using the wordwall application in improving student learning outcomes. This type of research is quantitative with the research design True Experimental design and data collection methods, namely the pretest-posttest control group design. The selection of samples using random sampling technique took samples consisting of 2 groups, each group consisting of 29 respondents, namely the experimental group class VIII B and the control group class VIII C at SMP Negeri 2 Mojotengah. Research shows that students who get the application of the TGT cooperative learning model using the wordwall application have better learning outcomes than conventional learning. This is shown from the results of the post[1]test assessment of experimental class students who obtained an average score of 61.62, while those in the control class obtained an average value of 46.03. Furthermore, in the N-Gain test it is known that the increase in the experimental class is higher than the control class and through the effectiveness test states that the class that gets treatment is more effective than conventional learning.

Abstract

Critical thinking skills are needed in the physics learning process, but students' critical thinking skills are still low due to a suboptimal learning approach. This article aims to develop and test the feasibility, practicality, and effectiveness of STEM-based Student Worksheets (LKPD) on dynamic fluid materials for students in class XI Science at SMA Negeri 1 Siantar. The type of research used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE development model. The results of the study show that STEM-based LKPD (1) is very feasible to use with an average assessment of 95.62% by material experts and an average assessment by design experts of 90%. (2) It has met the practical category reviewed from the student response questionnaire with an average of 84.67% in the small group test (7 students) and 87.63% in the large group test (30 students) with aspects of appearance, material presentation, STEM-based learning, and benefits. (3) Effective in improving students' critical thinking skills can be seen from the N-gain result of 0.68 with the medium category. This LKPD is designed to support active learning, oriented towards the development of 21st century skills such as critical thinking skills, creativity, collaboration, and communication. STEM approaches provide meaningful learning experiences and are able to relate learning concepts to everyday life. This article recommends the use of STEM-based LKPD as an alternative to improve students' critical thinking skills, especially on dynamic fluid materials.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas teknik streak retinoscopy sebagai metode refraksi objektif dalam mendeteksi kelainan miopia astigmatisme. Studi kasus dilakukan pada pasien pria berusia 28 tahun dengan keluhan silau saat berkendara malam hari dan penglihatan jarak jauh yang kadang buram. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan studi kasus tunggal, meliputi pemeriksaan pupil distance, pengukuran tajam penglihatan sebelum koreksi, dan perbandingan hasil pemeriksaan objektif menggunakan streak retinoscopy dengan hasil pemeriksaan subjektif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa streak retinoscopy mampu mendeteksi kelainan refraksi berupa miopia tinggi disertai astigmatisme pada kedua mata pasien, dengan hasil pemeriksaan objektif OD: S -6.00 C -3.00 x 180 dan OS: S -6.00 C -3.00 x 180. Hasil ini konsisten dengan pemeriksaan subjektif yang menunjukkan OD: S -6.00 C -3.00 x 180 dan OS: S -6.50 C -3.00 x 10. Penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa streak retinoscopy merupakan metode yang akurat, efisien, dan penting dalam diagnosis kelainan refraksi, terutama pada kasus miopia astigmatisme, serta menjadi alternatif berharga ketika pemeriksaan subjektif sulit dilakukan.Kata kunci: streak retinoscopy, refraksi objektif, miopia, astigmatisme, kesalahan refraksi

Abstract

Technological developments greatly affect developments in the field of education. Technology is used in education for learning media. This study aims to develop flipbook-based physics learning media on the subject of Simple Harmonic Motion, using Flip Pdf Corporation software. In this case, the researcher develops a learning innovation in the field of education that integrates information and communication technology, namely by using mobile phones, which basically 95% of students already have. This study involved students of class X SMAN 1 Cikande to find out the attractiveness, effectiveness and interest of students in using it. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE development model, the stages of Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation. Research data obtained by interview instruments, and questionnaires. The analysis technique used is qualitative in the form of interviews and quantitative in the form of questionnaires. This E-Module was created using Flip Pdf Corporation's Software which provides text, images, audio and video. This flipbook-based physics learning media has been said to be feasible to use based on material expert validation, the average score obtained is 85% for the media expert validation assessment, the average score obtained is 72%, for the media expert validation assessment, the average score is 72%. The average score obtained is 82% where the results from material experts and linguists are included in the "very feasible" criteria while media experts are included in the "adequate" criteria. Then, a field test has been conducted on thirty students and got an average score of 96% for student responses in the "very good and interesting" category. In addition, an effectiveness test has been carried out by giving a pretest and posttest to thirty students and using the N-gain formula, the average value is 0.60 in the "medium" category.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang bahan ajar berbentuk LKPD Digital yang valid, efektif dan layak digunakan dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing dan dibantu web liveworksheets pada materi suhu dan kalor. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode R&D dengan model ADDIE. Untuk mengetahui produk valid pada tahap pengembangan melibatkan 3 validator diantaranya 2 validator ahli media dan 1 validator ahli materi. Selanjutnya untuk mengetahui kepraktisan produk dapat dilihat dari hasil respon guru dan peserta didik terkait angket yang disebarkan dan juga hasil wawancara, sedangkan untuk mengetahui keefektifan produk dilakukan uji gain tenormalisasi (N-Gain). Uji coba produk terdiri dari uji coba kelas keccil yang melibatkan 10 peserta didik dan uji coba kelas besar yang melibatkan 30 peserta didik. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah angket validasi ahli media dan ahli materi serta angket respon guru dan peserta didik. Uji validasi, uji kepraktisan dan uji keefektifan pada produk menunjukkan bahwa LKPD Digital. Hasil dari validasi yang dilakukan oleh ahli materi memperoleh rata rata persentase skor sebesar 92%, validasi ahli media memperoleh skor 91% dan 95%, sehingga mendapatkan skor rata rata persentase 93% dikategorikan sangat valid tetapi dengan revisi. Hasil dari uji kepraktisan LKPD digital yang dilakukan guru memperoleh persentase skor rata rata 95% memenuhi kategori sangat praktis. Hasil pretest-posttest yang dilakukan pada kelompok kecil menunjukkan adanya peningkatan hasil belajar dengan skor persentase 89% dan N-Gain sebesar 0,89. Selanjutnya pretest-posttest yang dilakukan pada kelompok besar menunjukkan adanya peningkatan hasil belajar dengan skor persentase 90% dan N-Gain sebesar 0,90. Hasil respon peserta didik terhadap LKPD yaitu pada kelompok kecil memperoleh rata-rata persentase sebesar 90% dan kelompok besar memperoleh rata-rata persentase sebesar 87% dengan kriteria sangat praktis, Dengan demikian, LKPD yang dikembangkan menarik dan praktis digunakan bagi peserta didik sebagai bahan ajar dalam pembelajaran fisika.

Abstract

The research conducted involves a study of the physics concepts that can be found in the movements of the Bonet dance. The focus of this research is to position the Bonet dance in different contexts according to the philosophy of the dance, relating it to the physics concepts within the dance movements. This study is qualitative in nature, using descriptive qualitative methods. The data sources consist of literature review and documentation. The results of the research show that physics concepts have been identified in the basic movements of the Bonet dance. Some of the physics concepts found in the movements of the Bonet dance include frictional force, equilibrium, momentum, inertia, and torque. This demonstrates that culture can be used to explain or illustrate physics concepts. Thus, the Bonet dance of the Dawan tribe can be used as a learning resource for students in physics classes.

Abstract

Information technology is developing rapidly in various aspects, including in the field of education, by utilizing smartphones, laptops, computers so that the learning process runs well. The results of the interview with the class From the results of the questionnaire for class Teachers and students hope for innovation in physics learning media in order to achieve the expected goals. This research aims to determine the feasibility of developing FLIPBOOK based on Discovery Learning assisted by Canva on business and energy material, as well as knowing students' responses to the media developed. This research uses the R&D (Research and Development) method with the development of the ADDIE model to the implementation stage. The results of this research obtained an average validation score of 86.50% by media experts 82%, material experts 85%, language experts 81% and education practitioners 98% with the category "very suitable" for use as learning media. Apart from that, it was implemented on 28 students and obtained an average student response score of 92% in the very good category.
