Abstract

This study aims to test the validity of interactive learning media on material evaluating information in negotiation texts for high school students. Using a descriptive quantitative approach, the media developed based on needs analysis was assessed by three media experts and three subject matter experts through a questionnaire instrument. The results of the analysis show that the media obtained a very high validity score, with a percentage of 83.33% from media experts (covering aspects of design, interactivity, and accessibility) and 87.67% from subject matter experts (covering aspects of content suitability, presentation, and language). These findings confirm that the interactive media is feasible and valid for implementation in teaching negotiation texts at the high school level.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between terms of address in Patani Malay and Jambi Malay in order to reveal similarities and differences as well as factors that influence the linguistic relationship between the two Malay languages. This is a qualitative study with a sociolinguistic approach. The focus of the study is the analysis of terms of address in Patani Malay (Yala) and Jambi Malay to examine their relationship and socio-cultural context. The research subjects are native speakers aged 40–70 years. Data collection for this study included: (1) participatory observation (natural interaction), (2) interviews (key informants), (3) document study (old manuscripts, dialect dictionaries), (4) instruments: semi-structured interview guide, observation sheet, written documents. The research sampling technique used purposive sampling (criteria: mastery of traditional greetings). Data were collected through literature study and participant observation, then analyzed based on vertical generation classification (upper [+3] to lower [-3]) and horizontal ([0]) as well as non-family contexts. Data analysis included data reduction, data presentation (comparative tables), triangulation of sources and experts, and interpretation (language migration theory and semantic change). Data validity included credibility, transferability, dependability, and confirmability. The results of the study show that both languages have parallel kinship address structures, especially in respect for the older generation (e.g., datok for grandfather) and the core kinship system, which reflects Malay cultural values.

Abstract

The application of literary ecocriticism in analyzing folklore is important to develop. Folklore depicts greed, environmental destruction, and the loss of ecosystem balance caused by human actions. Genting and Gentas are works of local literature from East Kalimantan that show ecological imbalances in a country, such as drought, which have an impact on the lives of its people. This study aims to provide an overview of the environmental issues in the stories of Genting and Gentas, as well as to describe the environmental ethics principles contained therein. This study uses Lawrence Buell's literary ecocriticism approach and a literature study that focuses on reference materials. The results of the study show that the presence of ecological disasters in the form of long droughts is caused by human negligence in decision-making and extravagant habits that undermine the legitimacy of nature as the basis of life, represented by the community's violation of environmental ethics principles. This research can be used as local teaching material on environmental awareness, as well as a reminder of the spiritual relationship between humans and nature. Applying environmental ethics from the ground up has a positive impact on sustainable living.
