Wen Chuang Journal is published by the Chinese Language Education Study Program, Department of Foreign Languages, Faculty of Languages and Letters, Makassar State University. Abstract

This study is classroom action research (CAR). The aim of this the process of planning conducted, and implementing the scramble model in reading Mandarin at fourth graders student of Frater Thamrin Elementary School of Makassar. The subjects of this study were 20 students of fourth graders at Frater Thamrin Elementary School. Data were collected through observation and Mandarin reading tests. And were with presentation analyzed. The results of this study showed of the students in the first cycle is 67.87% and in the second cycle is 90.87%. so it can be conculed that, the implementation of scramble model improves the reading ability the students of graders fourth student at Frater Thamrin Elementary School of Makassar.Keywords: Application, Scramble, Reading, Mandarin.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research aims to improve students' Chinese vocabulary through the kahoot application. The sample of this research is 10 students of class X. This research is a classroom action research which consists of two cycles. Each cycle consists of two meetings. The instrument used is a test of increasing Chinese vocabulary and observation sheets. This study consisted of two, namely qualitative and quantitative. The results showed that the application of kahoot could increase students' Chinese vocabulary. This can be proven by the increase in students' Chinese vocabulary from the first cycle, the average obtained is 66.5 and in the second cycle with an average of 82. These results indicate that the students' Mandarin vocabulary has increased by 15.5.

Abstract

INTAN MEYLENIA NAGA-ULAWENG, 2021, "The 8th Frater Junior High School Chinese Text Reading Ability in Makassar". paper. National language education in the Department of Foreign Languages. Language and Writing College. Makassar State University (supervised by Misnawaty Usman and Burhanuddin). The purpose of this research is to obtain data and information about the reading and comprehension of Chinese texts in the eighth grade of Makassar Junior High School. This study is a quantitative descriptive study. The object of this study is the eighth class of Frater Junior High School in Makassar City, with a total of eight classes and a total of 248 students. The sample of this study is the eighth grade G class with a total of 29 students. The samples were determined by random sampling method. The results of the study showed that the Chinese reading and comprehension abilities of the eighth Class G students belonged to the general category (75.4%). Keywords: reading comprehension ability, Chinese text

Abstract

Maemunah, 2021. Ability to Write Number Symbols (shù zì) in Chinese for High School Students Celebes Global School Makassar. Thesis. Mandarin Language Education Study Program, Department of Foreign Languages, Faculty of Languages and Literature. Makassar State University (supervised by Misnawaty Usman and Hasmawati).This research is a descriptive quantitative research to describe the students’ ability to write Mandarin numbers at the 10th grade of SMA Celebes Global School Makassar which collected 14 students of class X of SMA Celebes Global School. The data of this study was gathered throght tests and documentation. The analysis result shows that the students’ ability to write the Mandarin numeric number is 81% or in good category. Keywords: Ability, Mandarin, Writing Chinese Characters, Number Symbols

Abstract

One Belt One Road Initiative which has been running for four years has shown a significant result, but, there are still some small obstacles which may hinder its success, one of them is language gap which is mastering Chinese language also known as Mandarin.  Therefore,   Confucius Institute becomes an international platform to spread Chinese language and culture around the world in order to enhance the understanding of China, has already been established before by the Chinese Ministry of Education. The establishment of Confucius Institute then be aligned to the development of One Belt One Road Initiative which function as an information service, job training and media center that can help establish cooperation between Chinese companies and local companies. Confucius Institute is expected to overcome language barriers that can lead to misunderstandings so as to benefit diplomatic relations between China and countries along the path of One Belt One Road. Through this paper the authors will describe China's soft power through the Confucius Institute and One Belt One Road Initiative in Indonesia and how these two products run to complement each other in order to enhance the charm of China in the eyes of the world. Keywords: China Soft Power, One Belt One Road, Confucius Institute, Indonesia

Abstract

This research was conducted to obtain data and information regarding the analysis of complementary words of directions (Qūxiàng Bǔyǔ) 来 (Lái) and 去 (Qù) of Mandarin sentences in MAS An-Nuriyah Bontocini Jeneponto, grade XI. The type of this research used descriptive qualitative. The population in this study were 40 students of class XI MAS An-Nuriyah Bontocini Jeneponto consisting of 18 students of class XI science and 20 students of class XI social studies. The sample of this study was 18 students, and the sampling method was full sampling. The data of this study were obtained through an error analysis test of the complementary word of direction来 (Lái) and 去 (Qù) in Mandarin sentences of class XI Students of  MAS An-Nuriyah Bontocini Jeneponto. The data analysis used percentage technique with the results of the percentage analysis that 28%, it shows that the analysis of errors in the direction of complementary words of direction来 (Lái) and 去 (Qù) in of Mandarin sentences in MAS An-Nuriyah Bontocini Jeneponto, grade XI .

Fitra Ramadani,2021. " Student’s ability in Using Measure Words (liàngcí) in Mandarin  for Class XII High School Students Insan Cendekia Syech Yusuf ." Thesis. Makassar State University's Mandarin Language Education Study Program, Departement of Foreign Language Education, Faculty of Language and Literature. (supervised by Ambo Dalle and Himala Praptami Adys).This study is a quantitative descriptive study that aims to determine the ability of SMA Insan Cendekia Syech Yusuf XII grade students to write sentences using the measure word (liàngci) and the factors that influence it. The students in this study was 44 students of Insan Cendekia Syech Yusuf high school's class XII. The Student was chosen by using random sampling, and the sample in this study was  22 students in class XII MIA 1. The data of this research was obtained from a test of using measure words, while to find out the factors that influence the use of measure word, students used a questionnaire. The data were analyzed using the percentage technique. The results showed that the level of students' writing skills using measure word (liángci) was in the good category (80%). From the results of the questionnaire distribution, it was found that the factors that affect the students' ability to write sentences using measure word (liàngei) are: 1) Supporting factors are the methods used by the teacher in teaching Mandarin, the pleasure of students learning Mandarin. 2) The inhibiting factors are: Mandarin is a difficult subject; a lack of Mandarin textbooks; the students' little Mandarin vocabulary; parents rarely provide motivation to learn Mandarin. Keywords: Writing Ability, Measure Words (liangci), Mandarin Language.

Abstract

This study is an ethnographic study with a qualitative approach which aims to determine the meaning and function of burning spirit money in the Chinese community of Makassar City in cross-cultural knowledge learning. The informants in this study were three Chinese people in Makassar City who still carry out the tradition of burning spirit money with observation and interview data collection techniques. The results of the interview were written into a transcript which was made into an abstraction. The abstractions that have been made are grouped based on the taxonomy of the research domain, a cultural theme is determined for writing an ethnography. The results of the study concluded that the meaning of burning spirit money was to honor those who had died and that spirit money was used to ransom the King of Hell so that the departed ancestors could be immediately released. Burning spirit money serves so that family members who have died can buy whatever they want in the afterlife. The cultural values contained in the burning of spirit money are religious values and cultural education values. The importance of studying cross-cultural knowledge is to avoid misunderstandings between people with different cultures. Keywords: Spiritual Money, Chinese Society, Cross Culture

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengklasifikasi jenis kesalahan yang dilakukan siswa kelas VIII SMP Kalam Kudus Makassar dalam penggunaan kata bantu bilangan [Liàngcí 量词] dalam kalimat bahasa Mandarin. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kuantitatif. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan tes penggunaan kata bantu bilangan dan angket. Metode analisis yang digunakan adalah metode analisis kesalahan yang dikemukakan oleh Ellis. Sumber data penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Kalam Kudus  Makassar yang terdiri dari 20 siswa. Data penelitian ini bersumber dari analisis kesalahan penggunaan kata bantu bilangan [liàngcí量词] dalam kalimat bahasa Mandarin. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa kesalahan penggunaan kata bantu bilangan sebanyak 162 total kesalahan. Kesalahan penggunaan kata bantu bilangan [Liàngcí 量词]  berdasarkan kategori kesalahan yaitu hampir tidak ada kesalahan adalah kata bantu bilangan gè 个sebanyak 8,02%; zhī 只sebanyak 9,25%; tái台sebanyak 9,87%; shuāng双sebanyak 9,25%; kǒu口sebanyak 9,25%; suì岁sebanyak 8,02%. Kesalahan penggunaan kata bantu bilangan [Liàngcí 量词] berdasarkan kategori kesalahan yaitu kurang sekali adalah kata bantu bilangan bēi 杯sebanyak 10,49%; běn本sebanyak 12,34%; wèi 位sebanyak 11,11%; jiàn件sebanyak 12,34%. Hasil angket menunjukkan bahwa faktor penyebab terjadinya kesalahan kata bantu bilangan [Liàngcí 量词] yaitu kurangnya perbendaharaan kosakata, kurangnya siswa dalam mengulangi pelajaran, kurangnya ketelitian.Kata Kunci: Analisis Kesalahan,  Kata Bantu Bilangan [liàngcí 量词, Bahasa Mandarin.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the writing skills of (hànzì) class VIII students at SMP Frater Makassar through the application of Estafet Writing method. The subjects of this study were the 30 students of class VIII E SMP Frater Makassar. This research is classroom action research which consists of two cycles. This research data consists of two types, namely: qualitative data and quantitative data. Qualitative data was obtained through observation, while quantitative data was obtained through writing skills tests in cycles I and II. The results showed that the writing skill (hànzì) with the average score of the writing skill test (hànzì) obtained by students from 69.43% with sufficient category in the first cycle increased to 78.1% with the good category in the second cycle. These results indicate that the application of Estafet Writing method can improve the writing skills of (hànzì) class VIII E students at SMP Frater Makassar. Keywords: Estafet Writing, Writing Skills, (hànzì), Chinese Language
