Abstract

Education, in addition to developing all potentials and achievements, also serves as a place for character formation, one of which is the character of discipline. Discipline character can be developed through the provision of rewards and punishments. This research aims to determine the application of reward and punishment as an effort for character education in discipline for elementary school students. This research was conducted at one of the schools, namely Sekolah Dasar Negeri 2 Suruh, Suruh District, Trenggalek Regency. The type of research conducted is descriptive qualitative research. The research activities were conducted in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation to collect data. The subjects in this study are three fifth-grade elementary school students and their teacher. The results of the research conducted show that the provision of rewards and punishments can bring about positive changes in students. These changes are marked by an improvement in the students' discipline. Thus, the proper implementation of reward and punishment can be a solution for teachers and students to create a conducive learning environment. The importance of collaboration between teachers and in supporting character education discipline is also a key factor in the success of its implementation.

Abstract

This study evaluates the implementation of collaborative learning theory in high school education through a comprehensive literature review. Collaborative learning is an educational approach that encourages students to work together in groups to achieve shared learning objectives. The research aims to analyze the effectiveness of this approach in enhancing student learning outcomes, active participation, scientific attitudes, and critical thinking skills. The methodology involves the collection, selection, and analysis of relevant literature from various sources, including scientific journals, books, and research articles published between 2018 and 2023. The findings indicate that collaborative learning significantly improves students' academic performance and fosters a more interactive and dynamic learning environment. Additionally, it highlights the versatility of collaborative learning, demonstrating its applicability across various subjects, both in the sciences and humanities. The study concludes that implementing collaborative learning strategies can create a more engaging educational experience, promoting deeper understanding and motivation among students. This research underscores the importance of innovative teaching methods in enhancing educational quality and preparing students for future challenges. Overall, the study advocates for the integration of collaborative learning in high school curricula to optimize student learning experiences and outcomes.

Abstract

The implementation of the Driving School Program at SD Negeri Tamansari 03 Jakarta faces challenges in implementing learning with a new paradigm, which causes this program to not run optimally. This is reflected in the low quality of schools in literacy and numeracy. This research aims to evaluate the implementation of the driving school program using the CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) method. This research involved school principals, teachers, students and parents using data collection techniques, namely interviews, observation and document study. The research results show that the driving school program which consists of five intervention activities, namely consultative and asymmetric assistance, strengthening school human resources, new paradigm learning, data-based planning, and school digitalization can improve the quality of learning, learning outcomes and student character. This is proven in the education quality report at SDN Tamansari 03 in 2024 which saw an increase in the literacy, numeracy and character aspects of students by 83.33%, while the learning quality aspect was 73.71%. So it can be concluded that the implementation of the driving school program contributes and has a positive impact on improving the quality of education at SDN Tamansari 03 Jakarta.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' basic culinary practice skills through the application of the hands-on cooking method. The research method used is Classroom Action Research (PTK), which is carried out in two cycles. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation and skill tests, with instruments in the form of observation sheets and test questions that have been validated by experts. Data analysis is carried out descriptively and quantitatively to see the increase in students' skills from pre-cycle to cycle II. The results of the study showed a significant increase in basic culinary practice skills. At the pre-cycle stage, the average student skills were at 54.56% with (fair category). After the hands-on cooking method was applied, the average value increased to 67.38% (good category) in cycle I, and reached 81.06% (very good category) in cycle II. The conclusion of this study is that the hands-on cooking method is proven to be effective in improving students' basic culinary practice skills. This method not only makes students more active in learning, but also helps them think creatively, face challenges, and develop problem-solving skills directly through practical experience in the field.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of character education in learning at SD YPK Ermasu. This study aims to analyze the application of character education in learning at SD YPK Ermasu. 2Character education plays an important role in shaping the personality of quality students, by instilling moral, social, and emotional values that support the self-development of students. The method used in this study is qualitative descriptive with a case study approach, which involves observation, interviews, and documentation as data collection techniques. The results of the study show that the implementation of character education at SD YPK Ermasu is carried out through various learning activities, both integrated in subjects and through extracurricular activities. In addition, teachers as learning agents, play an active role in instilling character values such as discipline, responsibility, cooperation, and respect for others. Obstacles faced in the implementation of character education include the lack of supporting resources and challenges in aligning students' character with the development of the times. Nevertheless, the school continues to strive to develop the character education program optimally through teacher training and continuous evaluation. This research is expected to contribute to the development of character education in elementary schools as part of efforts to form a generation with integrity and morality.

Abstract

This study explores pedagogical approaches in private music education, focusing on their impact on students' musical, cognitive, and emotional development. Using a qualitative approach, the study emphasizes the importance of individualized instruction, parental involvement, and technology integration. Observations and interviews conducted at Favore Music Bandung and GJKI Bandung Raya Church reveal that a flexible, student-centered approach, combined with motivational strategies, can significantly enhance engagement and creativity. Specifically, students showed increased creativity and motivation by selecting their favorite songs, which strengthened their emotional connection to music. Moreover, the integration of technology, including interactive music apps, enabled real-time feedback that enhanced students' technical skills and overall learning experience. Despite challenges such as limited teaching time and students busy schedules, the study suggests that a personalized learning model, focused on students' interests, effectively overcomes these obstacles. This paper concludes that adaptive pedagogical methods are essential for fostering holistic development, with further research needed to explore technology's broader application.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the role of the Course Review Horay (CRH) learning model in improving student learning outcomes in Social Studies (IPS) for fifth-grade students at the Kampung Bharu Guidance Center in Malaysia. The research design employed is a pretest-posttest for a single group, where students are given a pretest before and a posttest after implementing the CRH model. Data collection was conducted using purposive sampling. This technique is applied when the number of sample members meeting the criteria in the study is 30, with 12 students deemed eligible, thus the entire population is used as the sample. The analysis results indicate a significant improvement between the pretest and posttest scores, suggesting that the CRH model has proven effective in enhancing students' understanding. The interactive learning process encourages mutual support and active participation from students through group discussions and games designed to test their understanding. This study highlights not only the improvement in cognitive learning outcomes but also the development of social skills and students' critical thinking abilities. Therefore, the use of the Course Review Horay (CRH) model is recommended to enhance the quality of learning and students' understanding of education and the learning process as a whole. This study has a significant impact on improving more efficient teaching methods at the elementary education level.

Abstract

Packaging design is an essential competency for Culinary Vocational High School students in line with the growth of the packaging industry in Indonesia. This research aims to improve student learning outcomes in the Creative Vocational Project subject focusing on packaging design elements through the implementation of the Discovery Learning model. This Classroom Action Research was conducted in class XI Culinary 4 at SMKN 6 Surabaya with 36 students as subjects. The research was designed in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection phases. Data were collected through observations of learning activities and student activities, as well as cognitive learning outcome tests. The results showed a significant improvement in learning activities from 72% (sufficient category) in cycle I to 84% (good category) in cycle II. Student activities also increased from 79% (sufficient category) to 81.6% (good category). The most significant improvement was seen in cognitive learning outcomes with the percentage of student mastery increasing from 72.2% in cycle I to 86.1% in cycle II, with the average score increasing from 77.6 to 85.6. Providing stronger motivation and more effective classroom management in cycle II contributed to improved learning outcomes. The implementation of the Discovery Learning model proved effective in enhancing students' conceptual understanding and practical skills in packaging design, while also developing critical thinking skills and creativity relevant to industry demands.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the low cognitive ability of students in learning mathematics in multiplication. The purpose of this study was to develop a learning medium called “Fun Multiplication with Snakes and Ladders and Multiplication Cards” (PADUKA) and to test its feasibility, practicality, and effectiveness in improving the cognitive ability of fourth-grade elementary school students. This study used the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) development model. The research subjects comprised 16 students in the experimental class and 22 in the control class. The data collection techniques used tests, questionnaires, and observations. The results showed that: (1) PADUKA media is declared feasible by media experts and subject matter experts; (2) PADUKA media is practically used in learning based on positive responses from teachers and students; (3) PADUKA media is effective in improving students' cognitive abilities with an N-Gain value of 0.65 (moderate category) and an effectiveness value of 91.1% (very high category). The paired t-test shows a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores (p=0.000), and the independent samples t-test shows a significant difference between the experimental and control classes (p=0.005). Based on these results, it is recommended that PADUKA media be implemented more widely in mathematics learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the influence of psycholinguistic abilities on the speaking skills of Garuda Nusantara Vocational School students in Cikarang Selatan and explore the effectiveness of Islamic educational guidance and counseling in improving these two aspects. The approach used is quantitative with a quasi-experimental design, using Nonequivalent Control Group Design involving experimental and control groups. Data analysis techniques include t-tests to measure differences before and after intervention as well as regression analysis to see the relationship between research variables. The research results showed that there was a significant positive relationship between psycholinguistic abilities and students' speaking skills. Islamic educational guidance and counseling interventions provide a significant impact in improving speaking skills, especially in the aspects of clarity, thinking structure and politeness of communication. Statistical analysis showed a significant increase in the experimental group compared to the control group, with a p-value <0.05. In addition, the regression results show that 92.10% of the variation in speaking skills can be explained by psycholinguistic abilities. Thus, this research confirms the importance of developing guidance and counseling programs based on Islamic values ​​in improving secondary students' speaking skills.
