Abstract

This research aims to describe the implementation of the Think Pair Share (TPS) learning model in improving students’ speaking skills, particularly in expressing opinions about English videos or podcasts that the students have watched or listened in learning process. This research method was a descriptive qualitative with participants consisting of 42 students from first-semester students of the English management Study Program at Putra Indonesia University in Padang. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation of classroom activities. The results revealed that the systematic application of the three stages of TPS—think, pair, and share—significantly improved students’ participation in giving opinion in the class. They use variation vocabulary and confidence in expressing opinions. Moreover, the model fostered a collaborative and communicative learning environment among students. Furthermore, TPS created a collaborative and communicative learning atmosphere that encouraged students to support each other and reduce anxiety in speaking English. The integration of digital media, such as videos and podcasts, also increased students’ interest and motivation in learning. Thus, implementing Think Pair Share (TPS)in speaking class proved that it is an effective and relevant strategy to enhance students’ speaking ability.

Abstract

This study aims to develop learning media in the form of interactive videos on Computer System material at SMKN 3 Garut, with the expectation of improving learning quality in the digital era. The development process employed the ADDIE model, which consists of five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The learning media was designed by integrating text, animations, images, narration, and interactive features such as digital quizzes to enhance student engagement. The research subjects consisted of 33 tenth-grade students majoring in Computer and Network Engineering. The media was implemented through a learning seminar, where students were given the opportunity to study the material using the developed interactive video. The results showed that the media successfully attracted students’ attention, increased learning motivation, and facilitated understanding of computer system concepts. Teachers also expressed positive responses, as the media helped address limitations in laboratory practice facilities. Based on these findings, the interactive video is considered feasible to be used as an alternative learning resource for Computer System subjects in vocational schools. Further research is recommended to quantitatively examine the effectiveness of the media and to add more interactive features to support independent learning.

Abstract

This study intends to assess the validity of the media and methods used in developing digital learning tools based on ethnomathematics for junior high schools. The research employed the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method. The review followed the PRISMA guidelines by collecting articles through Publish or Perish with sources from Google Scholar within the period of 2020–2025. The keywords used were “ethnomathematics” and “digital media.” From the selection process, 15 articles were found to meet the inclusion criteria articles were identified as meeting the inclusion criteria. Based on the analysis, it was revealed that digital media such as electronic modules (e-modules), electronic student worksheets (E-LKPD), digital comics, educational videos, interactive PowerPoint presentations, and Android-based applications effectively integrated mathematical concepts (geometry, geometric transformations, and circles) with local cultural elements such as batik motifs, traditional houses, and handicrafts. These media demonstrated a high level of validity, all categorized as feasible, practical, and effective. The analyzed articles reported average validity scores (≥ 76%), practicality (≥ 80%), and effectiveness in improving learning mastery up to 81.00%. The use of such media enhanced students’ mathematical understanding, communication skills, and cultural appreciation through interactive features. This study provides insights into the types of digital formats most frequently utilized at the junior high school level.

Abstract

The global maritime sector requires innovative training methods to meet ever evolving STCW competency standards, particularly in soft skills and psychosocial resilience. Digital assisted education, which had been a revelation for furthering self-directed learning result in post pandemic especially in the post pandemic context, had broadened the attention of educators to explore more sophistication such as implementing gamification techniques. This qualitative case study assessed the pedagogical effectiveness of a digital gamification scheme on ten purposefully sampled cadets at Jakarta Maritime University, utilizing Thematic Analysis based on their pre-existing digital exposure and motivational shifts. Results demonstrated very high effectiveness, confirming that high Digital Technology & Gamification Exposure acts as a vital mediator, accelerating adaptation and molding Motivational Dynamics critical for team dynamics. The research also highlights a critical challenge, which is often overlooked in typical self learning situations, that disparities in Perceived Reliability of Device & Connectivity threaten learning equity among students. These findings offer a valuable framework for integrating gamification into the STCW curriculum, providing an additional contribution to maritime education innovation as well as seafarer welfare strategy.

Abstract

The Development Of Digital Technology Has Introduced New Ethical Risks, Such As Polarization, Misinformation, And The Misuse Of Data, That Exacerbate The Moral Vulnerability Of Learners, Primarily Due To Technological Affordances Like Algorithms And Manipulative Interface Designs. In This Context, Traditional Value-Based Character Education Faces The Challenge Of Relevance If It Is Not Recontextualized. This Study Aims To (1) Analyze Three Key Digital Capacities: Cyber-Wisdom, Technomoral Resilience, And Digital Agency In Response To Bold Ethical Risks; (2) Identify The Need For The Transformation Of Traditional Values In Character Education; And (3) Design A Theoretical-Pedagogical Framework To Integrate Such Capacities Into The Curriculum. Through A Systematic Literature Study Of The 2015–2025 Period, Encompassing Literature From Google Scholar, Scopus, And Sinta, The Findings Reveal That These Three Capacities Represent A Contemporary Evolution Of Phronesis, Moral Virtues, And Individual Character Within The Aristotelian Tradition. Character Education Needs To Shift From A Normative-Affective Approach To A Reflective-Agency Model That Emphasizes Moral Autonomy, Digital Accountability, And Moral Imagination. Abstract

Digital transformation in education has encouraged the integration of information technology as an essential component of the teaching and learning process. However, the implementation of educational digitalization has not been evenly distributed, particularly in archipelagic regions that face infrastructural limitations and geographical challenges. This study aims to evaluate the implementation of information technology in learning activities and to examine the readiness of educational resources in schools in Belitung Regency. A quantitative approach with a descriptive-evaluative method was employed. Data were collected from 150 respondents, consisting of teachers and students from five schools, through Likert-scale questionnaires, observations, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics and Pearson correlation analysis. The results indicate that the level of information technology implementation is categorized as high, while the readiness of educational resources is also high, despite infrastructural support remaining at a moderate level. Correlation analysis reveals a strong positive relationship between information technology implementation and educational resource readiness. These findings suggest that teacher motivation and competence, school culture, and institutional policy support are capable of compensating for existing technical limitations. This study contributes to the literature by offering a holistic evaluative approach that assesses the success of educational digitalization not only in terms of technological availability, but also through the integration of human resource readiness, pedagogical practices, and local policy contexts in archipelagic regions.

Abstract

The maritime industry currently faces the challenges of rapid digital transformation, yet the human factor remains a key pillar in ensuring safe port operations. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of Truck Safety Awareness (TSA) training on the safe driving behavior of truck drivers at Tanjung Priok Port. The main issue raised is the high risk of accidents in the terminal area due to external driver behavior, the impact of which has not been scientifically validated. Using a descriptive qualitative approach with purposive sampling, primary data were collected through in-depth interviews with truck drivers, focus group discussions (FGDs) with port management, and direct field observations at critical operational points. Thematic analysis results indicate that the TSA program has proven highly effective and efficient in shifting driver safety paradigms. This success was significantly driven by a hyper-contextual curriculum and visual delivery methods that utilized real-life accident case studies at the research site. These findings demonstrate that internalization of awareness can bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world actions, even under high operational pressure. This study provides a significant contribution to port management in validating safety training investments as a sustainable risk mitigation strategy. In practice, the TSA serves as a best practice model that balances port logistics efficiency and optimal occupational safety standards to support maritime supply chain resilience.

Abstract

In the current era, technology assists human roles in life. The important role of technology leads humanity toward an unlimited modern world. Moreover, technology is present to facilitate and support the world of education. This includes engaging learning videos, the presence of e-books (digital books) and e-modules (digital modules), and the emergence of interactive applications. The presence of increasingly advanced technological innovations in learning will facilitate both students and teachers. Supported by digital learning resources, students become more creative and active during learning, and adequate facilities make technology-based learning enjoyable, with students accepting it wholeheartedly. One example is at SMA Negeri 2 Purwokerto, where the facilities already meet general standards and certainly address students' needs. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. The population used is from classes XII-1 to XII-11, while the sample only includes class XII-1, with data collection encompassing observation, documentation, and interviews. The research results reveal that in designing learning planning, there must be a clear flow, such as the creation of learning achievements, teaching modules, and strategic steps in learning. This is to create interactive and engaging learning. In addition, it can make learning more organized, especially entrepreneurship education at SMAN 2 Purwokerto.

Abstract

This study addresses the low conceptual understanding of students in the accounting cycle subject at SMK PGRI Pekanbaru, which has been dominated by direct learning methods. The main purpose is to examine the effect of implementing a website-based blended learning model on students’ conceptual understanding of the accounting cycle. This research is relevant to the ongoing educational transformation toward technology-integrated and student-centered learning in vocational schools. The study employed a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental design (one group pretest–posttest design). The research subjects were 21 tenth-grade Accounting and Finance (AKL) students. Data were collected using a validated and reliable multiple-choice test instrument that measured students’ conceptual understanding. The data were analyzed using a paired sample t-test with SPSS version 25 to determine significant differences between pretest and posttest scores. The results revealed a significant increase in students’ conceptual understanding after the implementation of the website-based blended learning model. The mean pretest score was 69.04, which was below the school’s Minimum Completion Criteria (KKM). The posttest results showed a statistically significant improvement, indicating that the blended learning model effectively enhanced students’ conceptual mastery. This study highlights the potential of website-based blended learning to improve conceptual understanding and student engagement. However, the research was limited to a small sample in one school, which restricts the generalizability of the findings. Future research should involve larger samples and compare multiple blended learning platforms.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of the Buddy Reading strategy in improving reading comprehension within an inclusive English classroom at SMPN 2 Langke Rembong, Manggarai. With English functioning as a global language, inclusive education requires instructional methods that support diverse learners, including students with special needs. Buddy Reading, a peer-assisted technique in which students alternate as reader and listener, is considered beneficial for promoting literacy skills, cooperation, and social interaction. A quantitative experimental design was applied involving two eighth-grade classes: an experimental group using Buddy Reading and a control group receiving conventional instruction. Both groups completed pre-tests and post-tests containing 25 multiple-choice items measuring reading comprehension. Data were analyzed using SPSS 24 through descriptive statistics, normality and homogeneity tests, and an independent samples t-test. Results showed that the experimental group achieved a higher post-test mean score (70.48) than the control group (60.51). Students with special needs in the experimental class also demonstrated clear progress. The t-test results (Sig. 0.000 < 0.05) confirmed that Buddy Reading had a significant positive impact on students’ reading comprehension. Overall, the study concludes that Buddy Reading is an effective strategy for inclusive classrooms, supporting academic improvement, vocabulary development, and positive peer interaction.
