Abstract

This study analyzes the science learning process through a TBLA-based lesson study (Transcript Based Lesson Analysis), where the analysis is focused on the teacher-centered and student-centered. There are stages of lesson study that are implemented, namely planning (plan), implementation (do), and reflection (see). This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study research type. This research was carried out in class VIII.2 of Al-Falah Islamic Junior High School in Jambi City from January 18 to February 22, 2021, through 2 research cycles. This study's data source was 32 students of class VIII.2, with details of 20 male students and 12 female students. Qualitative data were obtained through observation and documentation. Observers make statements during the learning process. At the same time, documentation is received from audio/video recordings of the learning process (interactions between teachers and students), which will then be transcribed in learning dialogue. The results obtained are based on the transcript of the conversation, which is made in a word unit graphic. It can be seen that the science learning process in cycle one and cycle two is still dominated by teachers or is teacher-centered. The teacher has allowed students to speak with existing questions and group discussions. The suggestion in this research is that teachers can apply TBLA-based lesson study in the learning process. Analytical techniques like this aim to improve the ability of teachers to enhance further learning processes.

Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this research was to find out how energy literacy skills in high school students while using the Collaborative Creativity (CC) learning model. This type of research is descriptive research. This research was conducted in the even semester of the 2018/2019 academic year. Place of research in Mumbulsari 1 Public High School. The class used is class X MIPA 3 using Collaborative Creativity (CC) learning model and class X MIPA 2 using conventional models commonly used by teachers. The research instruments were observation, interviews, tests, and documentation. Analysis of research data for energy literacy skills is by using the formula for energy literacy scoring which will then be interpreted into guidelines that will be the criteria for students' energy literacy abilities. Based on the results of the analysis it can be said that the energy literacy ability of high school students while using the Collaborative Creativity (CC) learning model is good.Kata Kunci: Model Pembelajaran, Collaborative Creativity (CC), Literasi Energi

Abstract

Abstract: This study was conducted to analyze inference skills of students on the material temperature and heat accompanied by application of guided inquiry learning model in SMP Negeri 2 Jember. This study uses classroom action research conducted in the first semester of the academic year 2019/2020. The subject of research is VII E grade from SMP Negeri 2 Jember include 30 people. Study period is 3 months from August to September 2019. In practice, this study apply 2 learning cycles, each cycle was conducted 4 stages: planning, implementation, monitoring/observation, and reflection. The data collection is done by using a essay test contained in the worksheet learners. Data collected from essay test then analyzed with qualitatively. Based on the analysis of the data obtained showed that the implementation of the learning cycle I, the results of students' mastery of inference skills by 69%, which means its not yet to reach the indicators set. In the second learning cycle results obtained completeness inference skills of students by 77% so that it has reached the specified indicators.The results showed inference skills of students in the material heat and temperature increased significantly after conducting guided inquiry learning model. Abstract

Abstract: An important stage that will determine the quality of ready-to-consume coffee is roasting. This method has been developed and used to obtain the best and specific quality of coffee brewing. In addition to the method used, the type of coffee greatly influences the quality characteristics of the brewed coffee produced. Coffee beans will not have a high commercial value before being subjected to a roasting process for the formation of the best aroma and taste. Roasting is a combination of time and temperature that changes the structure and chemical properties in coffee beans through the pyrolysis process. Even high-quality coffee beans cannot have maximum aroma and flavor if the roasting process is not done properly. This research uses a roasting machine type Hot Air Roasting or with other names Air Roasting is a different roasted coffee method. Coffee roasting process is not on the surface of the roaster but in the air, this coffee roasting method was introduced by Michael Sivetz, a chemical engineer and consultant of the world coffee industry. Based on the results of this study that the decrease in density discussed in the previous paragraph shows that the longer the roasting, the weight of coffee will decrease because the water content in coffee beans has begun to decrease. This shows that the longer the coffee beans are roasted, the better the results of heating. This research process uses a hot air type roasting machine. Hot water is one type of roasting machine that is good and efficient, because the heating carried out by the machine uses electrical energy. The final results obtained in this study the temperature continues to rise but the density decreases. This shows the inverse relationship between temperature and density of coffee and the best roasting results and can be used for brewing robusta coffee at 200 ° C in 15-20 minutes. Abstract

Development of STEM-based s teaching materials with the Engineering Design Process model on global warming in high school aims to produce valid teaching materials. This research is an earlier stage of development research that uses the ADDIE model research design which consists of five stages, that is Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. In this study, the validity aspect was carried out from the analysis, design, and development stages. The teaching materials that have been developed are assessed for product suitability by validators and expert users is five physics education lecturers at Mulawarman University and one teacher at SMA Negeri 5 Samarinda. Based on the results of the validity, the level reached 80.0% that catagorized as valid. Based on the results teaching materials on global warming are suitable to use and continue to implementation and evaluation stages

Abstract

Abstact: The research aimed to study the influence of guided inquiry learning with pictorial riddle for ability of verbal representation straigt motion matter for student in senior high school (SMA). The populated of this research was all student of class X in one of private senior high school in Pakusari. The eksperimental class taught using guided inquiry learning while the control class is taught employing a conventional learming model. Sampling is conducted adopting a cluster random sampling. The student pre-test and post-post test data ability of verbal representation was analyzed by independent sample t test on SPSS 23. The results of this research showed that guided inquiry learning with pictorial riddle for ability of verbal straigt motion matter for student in senior high school (SMA) is better than those learning with a conventional learning model.Keywords: guided inquiry, pictorial riddle, verbal representation

Abstract

Abstract This development research aims to produce physics interactive learning materials in heat and thermo topic, insightful HOTS (High Order Thinking Skill) that can enhance the literacy science ability of students. The background of this research is the low literacy science ability of senior high school students/MA. The research design used was Nieveen’s research design which consisted of three stages, namely preliminary research, prototyping stage, and assessement stage. The instruments used in this research were validation sheet and literacy science test. The results of expert validation retrieved that physics interactive learning materials insightful HOTS valid constructs and valid content. Based on development test results of the data analysis concluded: (1) the validity of physics interactive learning materials, insightful HOTS was at valid category with an average score of valid constructs was 4.17 and average score of valid content was 4, (2) the effectiveness of physics interactive learning materials in heat and thermo topic, insightful HOTS to improve students’ literacy science skill showed that the average of N-Gain score was 0.59 which was in the medium category, so the physics interactive learning materials in heat and thermo topic, insightful HOTS was effective in improving literacy science skill. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk : 1) menganalisis perbandingan proses kegiatan belajar siswa dengan metode penelitian dengan model PBI (Problem Based Instruction) pada 2 kelas setiap kelas akan dicobakan sistem pembelajaran yang berbeda : (1) X IPA 1 menggunakan sistem metode ceramah, yaitu guru memberikan penjelasan materi terhadap siswa. (2) X IPA 2 menggunakan sistem virtual, yaitu dengan praktek menggunakan Phet Simulation. 2) Mengetahui lebih efektif mana sistem pembelajaran yang dicobakan pada siswa, yang nantinya akan digunakan untuk sistem pembelajaran agar lebih efektif dalam proses belejar mengajar siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan pre-test dan post tes yang diberikan kepada siswa. Analisis pegambilan datanya ialah nilai pre-test siswa di kelas X IPA 1 dan IPA 2 di ambil rata-rata sebagai nilai acuan untuk membandingan. Setelah diberi pembelajaran dengan media yang berbeda, siswa diberi post-test dan di ambil rata-ratanya, lalu dianalisis. Peningkatan rata-rata yang paling tinggi dari pre-test ke post-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sistem virtual yaitu dengan menggunakan Phet Simulation pada kelas X IPA 2 memiliki hasil yang lebih baik dibandingkan sistem metode ceramah pada kelas X IPA 1.

Abstract

This research is a type of descriptive research. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of using PhET simulation in online learning on temperature and heat material based on student learning outcomes. The level of student effectiveness can be known through the results of the Pre-test and Post-test. PhET simulation is a virtual laboratory simulation covering physics, chemistry, mathematics, earth science, and biology. Furthermore, this research was carried out at SMAN 2 Jember from 3 - 6 January 2022 in the even semester of the 2021/2022 academic year. The population in this study were students of class XI IPA SMAN 2 Jember. Prior to sampling, homogeneity test was carried out with the help of the SPSS program. This homogeneity test is used to determine whether the sample data is obtained from a population with homogeneous variance or not. Data on the effectiveness of using PhET simulation in online learning on temperature and heat materials were obtained from test results. it is known that the N-gain score obtained is 0.669. So it can be concluded that the effectiveness of using PhET simulation in online learning on temperature and heat material is in the medium category. Student learning outcomes also increased compared to before using the PhET simulation. Meanwhile, students admitted that they were enthusiastic and not bored so that it was easier for students to understand the material taught by the teacher. Abstract

Extremely low frequency magnetic field (ELF) is a part of the electromagnetic spectrum with range of 0-300 Hz of frequency and non ionizing characteristics of radiation. Nowadays, ELF magnetic fields are widely used in various fields, for example in the fields of medicine, agriculture, and food. In the field of food, ELF magnetic fields can be used as a preservation of materials that are easily damaged (decayed), one of which is agricultural product. Edamame is a top commodity in Jember that tends to be unresistant to damage during storage, especially to decomposing if stored at room temperature. This study aims to determine the effect of ELF magnetic field exposure on the value of edamame pH on day 4, day 7, and day 10 after harvest. This study used 9 samples each for the control and experimental groups. The experimental group was given exposure to ELF magnetic fields with an intensity of 1000 µT for 60 minutes. The results showed that exposure to ELF magnetic fields affected the pH of edamame. The pH value in the control group was lower than the experimental group, as indicated by the pH value of the control group during the measurement decreased to 5,93, while the edamame pH in the experimental group was still above 6 Key word: Edamame, ELF magnetic field, pH
