Abstract

Muthawif and Tour Leader (TL) services have a strategic role in supporting the smooth running of the Umrah pilgrimage, especially for elderly pilgrims who need assistance. However, the practice of Umrah services in the field is inseparable from social dynamics, such as differences in the competence of companions and the potential for inequality in the division of roles and workloads, which can affect the quality of pilgrims' services. This research aims to understand the humanist services provided by Muthawif and TL in building the experience of worship, loyalty, and word of mouth of Umrah pilgrims. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design on the Surya Madina Umrah bureau, involving 47 Umrah pilgrims departing on January 10, 2026. The data collection technique was carried out through observation, distribution of service assessment questionnaires, and brief interviews with pilgrims. The results of the study show that humanistic services characterized by an empathetic attitude, patience, friendliness, clarity of communication, and mentoring are able to create a sense of comfort for worshippers, increase understanding during worship, and encourage the formation of loyalty and positive word of mouth. However, this study also found that there is a dynamic division of roles and workload between Muthawif and TL which has the potential to have an impact on the physical and mental condition of officers as well as the sustainability of service quality. This study concludes that humanist services in Umrah do not only depend on the quality of empathic interaction with pilgrims, but also require proportional, professional, and sustainable management of human resources to maintain the quality of long-term services.

Abstract

Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) is a digestive system disorder that not only causes physical problems but is also closely related to an individual’s psychological condition, particularly anxiety disorders. Recurrent GERD symptoms such as heartburn, chest burning sensation, shortness of breath, nausea, and physical discomfort can trigger fear, excessive worry, and emotional distress in sufferers. This condition indicates the existence of a psychosomatic relationship between physical and psychological disorders. This study aims to analyze anxiety behavior in GERD sufferers based on psychological perspectives and the approach of Surah Al-Insyirah verses 1–8 as an integration of psychology and Qur’anic perspectives. This study employed a literature review method with a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were obtained through various scientific sources, including national and international journals, academic books, research articles, and Qur’anic interpretation studies relevant to the research topic. Data analysis was conducted using content analysis by reviewing, comparing, and interpreting theories and previous studies related to GERD, anxiety disorders, Islamic psychology, and the psychological values contained in Surah Al-Insyirah. The results of the study indicate that anxiety disorders in GERD sufferers are influenced by a bidirectional relationship between physical and psychological conditions. Anxiety may worsen GERD symptoms through stress responses and increased body sensitivity to pain, while recurring GERD symptoms can increase fear and excessive concern about health conditions. From the perspective of Islamic psychology, spiritual approaches such as dhikr (remembrance of Allah), tawakal (trust in God), patience, and positive thinking toward Allah (husnuzan) can help individuals achieve inner peace and improve emotional regulation. Furthermore, Surah Al-Insyirah verses 1–8 contain psychological values such as optimism, mental strengthening, resilience, and the belief that every hardship is accompanied by ease. These values are consistent with the concept of cognitive reframing in modern psychology. Based on the findings, it can be concluded that the integration of psychological perspectives and Qur’anic values, particularly Surah Al-Insyirah verses 1–8, can serve as a holistic approach in understanding and helping overcome anxiety disorders in GERD sufferers. This approach not only focuses on physical and psychological conditions but also emphasizes the spiritual aspect as an essential component of mental health.

Abstract

Moderate Islamic education in Madura requires a conceptual formulation that is able to connect local wisdom, Islamic values and awareness of global responsibility. However, regarding global citizenship in Islamic education, it is still relatively limited in placing Pangèsto as a local Madura ethic that reflects gratitude, reciprocity, and prosocial responsibility. The article aims to formulate an integration model between global citizenship, Pangèsto values and moderate Islamic education. This study uses a qualitative-descriptive approach with a literature study type. Data were analyzed through thematic content analysis of literature that discusses global citizenship, religious moderation, Islamic education, Madura local wisdom, and the theory of gratitude and prosocial responsibility. This study shows that Pangèsto is not only understood as a practice of repaying personal services, but also as a local form of gratitude, moral reciprocity, and prosocial responsibility. In moderate Islamic education, Pangèsto values have a slice of values with gratitude, manners, and ihsan, ukhuwah, tasamuh, and humanitarian responsibility. When integrated with global citizenship, the meaning of Pangèsto has expanded from individual reciprocity to social responsibility towards society, nation, humanity, and the environment. This article offers an integrative framework in the form of: Pangèsto as a local value of Madura – moderate Islamic values / adab and gratitude – global citizenship based on empathy, solidarity, peace, justice, and social-environmental responsibility.
