Abstract

Adolescence is a transition period from childhood to adulthood. Many changes occur in adolescents. Not only physical changes but emotions and psyche also change in adolescents. Adolescents who experience puberty, if not balanced with basic knowledge of psychology and scientific knowledge about reproduction, are at risk of being affected by negative things. Health education needs to be carried out on adolescents to avoid adverse events. Community service activities include health education about introductory psychology and puberty. Activities are carried out on adolescents. Joint Scout Training Activities are held throughout Lubuklinggau City at SMKN 3 Lubuklinggau City. The activity consists of the survey stage, preparation, implementation of education, and evaluation. The evaluation method is in the form of classical questions, answers, and questionnaires both before and after the material is given. Community service is carried out by participants with enthusiasm, happiness, and enthusiasm. Participants can answer questions from the presenters well. The conclusion is that community service runs smoothly and adolescent knowledge increases.

Abstract

Understanding the concept of personal financial management is crucial for today's teenagers, as the skill for financial decision-making. Therefore, teenagers must be equipped with financial planning knowledge as early as possible. One form of financial knowledge provision to teenagers has been carried out by Petra Christian University Finance and Investment students through community service at Frateran Catholic High School, Surabaya. The purpose is to make teenagers aware of the importance of personal financial management and develop skills in making wise financial decisions. The method used in the activity was interactive delivery of material through discussions and supported by rally games activities. This activity was designed to attract teenagers at Frateran Catholic High School to understand more about financial literacy. The rally games method covered supply-demand, interest rates, and investment instruments allocated in three different stations. The results showed an increase in the teenagers' understanding of the concept of financial literacy. The teenagers were able to identify investment instruments and realized the importance of financial management. Thus, this activity succeeded in having a positive impact on improving teenagers' financial literacy.

Abstract

Conto Hamlet, Bulukerto District, Wonogiri Regency, is starting to develop into a tourist village, one of which is the Soko Langit swimming pool tourist attraction, which is managed and developed by one family. This service is intended to provide knowledge about promotion through social media, which is an alternative to disseminating information, as well as providing training in the use of promotional features found on social media platforms such as Instagram and TikTok. Devotion consists of three stages, namely, preparation, implementation and monitoring. The management appreciates the service activities and feels helped so that in the future, they can be implemented to further develop the Soko Langit tourist attraction because promotion on social media platforms is felt more effective and efficient. In conclusion, the use of social media as a centre for massive information dissemination must continue to be increased, especially at tourist attractions in remote areas, so the public can more widely receive information about these tourist attractions through content uploaded on social media.

Abstract

This community service aims to develop technology-based entrepreneurial skills in SMK Muhammadiyah 6 Karanganyar students. With the rapid development of technology, digital-based entrepreneurial skills are becoming very relevant and needed in today's world of work. This program is designed to improve students' knowledge of modern entrepreneurship, including using digital technology in marketing, production, and business management. The methods used include entrepreneurship training, the use of technology in business, and direct assistance in student entrepreneurship projects. This activity also involves collaboration with experienced local industry players, allowing students to learn from real practices in the field. The results of the community service show that this training and mentoring program significantly improves students' understanding of the concept and application of technology-based entrepreneurship. Students become more skilled in developing business ideas using digital platforms and social media. In addition, this activity strengthens students' motivation to become entrepreneurs and gives them confidence in facing future challenges. This program is expected to improve the competence of SMK Muhammadiyah 6 Karanganyar graduates, making them more prepared to enter the job market that focuses on technological innovation.

Abstract

Academics often face challenges in effectively navigating and analyzing the vast and growing body of scientific literature, which limits their ability to identify collaboration opportunities and emerging research trends. This study highlights developing and implementing a community service program to enhance academics' research productivity through bibliometric analysis training. Conducted online on September 6, 2024, the program gathered 34 lecturers and researchers from diverse fields. The training comprehensively introduced bibliometric concepts and practical applications, utilizing tools such as VOSviewer and Scopus Analyze. Participants gained skills in processing bibliographic data, mapping collaboration networks, and identifying emerging research trends. The initiative improved participants' understanding of bibliometric techniques and empowered them to enhance research quality and productivity. Positive feedback from participants underscores the program's success and potential to drive broader academic impact.

Abstract

This community service aims to introduce the concept of diligence and laziness to students of Bethel Sulung 3 Kindergarten, Surabaya, through an interactive approach designed to attract attention and facilitate student understanding. The methods include guessing games, education with puppet stages, coloring activities, and spelling and reading simple sentences. The guessing game involves classifying daily activities based on the concept of diligent and lazy, accompanied by explanations and collecting points as motivation. The puppet stage shows animal stories about diligence and laziness. Continued with a question and answer session to strengthen student understanding. Coloring activities using characters from the puppet storyline, ants and bees, to hone creativity and instill the value of hard work. Simple literacy, introducing new vocabulary about diligence and laziness, spelling exercises, and student reading. The data was obtained from observations and analysis of children’s work results, such as the number of points received and the quality of students’ coloring. Using methods in this interactive learning has proven effective in improving students’ understanding of the concept of diligent and lazy and motivating kindergarten students to participate in activities actively.

Abstract

Developing rural economies that focus on village independence through small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) entrepreneurship provides significant benefits for the community and local government. By improving access to production resources, technology, and capital, it is hoped that the production and productivity of the community will increase, along with the realization of welfare through product sales and the creation of new jobs in the agrotourism, handicrafts, and tourism sectors. Mundu Village, Tulung District, Klaten Regency, has entrepreneurial potential from livestock and agricultural products. However, low digital literacy among business actors poses a major challenge. This community service aims to enhance digital literacy through training and assistance in creating WhatsApp Business, TikTok, and Instagram accounts. The methods of socialization and training are expected to encourage improved product marketing, ultimately enhancing the welfare of the village community. Program results indicate a 40% increase in understanding of social media marketing, a 32.4% increase in the use of digital marketplaces, and a 13.4% increase in WhatsApp Business. With support from digital technology, local products from Mundu Village are expected to compete in a broader market.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a chronic disease caused by the inability of the body to produce sufficient insulin or to use insulin effectively. The prevalence of diabetes among young people in Indonesia, based on doctor diagnoses, remained unchanged from 2013 to 2018 (0.5%). However, the percentage of young diabetes patients who do not receive treatment is 18.5% (highest). Young adults also represent the age group with the highest percentage of individuals who have never had their blood sugar levels checked (86.6%). This activity aims to provide adolescents with basic knowledge about the definition of diabetes, available therapies for young diabetes patients, and preventive measures. The method used in this community service activity involved delivering material in person and distributing brochures on diabetes prevention among adolescents at SMK Bhumi Husada. The target participants were adolescents aged 17–19 years. The activity proceeded smoothly, and the students comprehended the educational material provided. Adolescents gained an understanding of diabetes prevention, leading to healthier lifestyle behaviors.

Abstract

The “Math Adventures” program aims to improve the numeracy literacy of grade 4 students of SDN 02 Mancasan through a Problem-Based Learning approach. The program was designed using mixed methods, integrating pre-test, post-test, and interviews to evaluate its effectiveness. Interactive learning media such as flashcards, digital quizzes, and multiplication boards were used over three sessions to help students understand numerical concepts in a fun way. The results showed a significant increase in the student’s average score, from 70 in the pre-test to 83 in the post-test. In addition to improving their scores, the program also increased students’ motivation to learn mathematics and reduced their anxiety about the subject. The PBL approach effectively creates relevant, sustainable learning experiences that encourage critical thinking skills and problem-solving abilities. With interactive and collaborative methods, the program facilitates students’ understanding of numerical concepts and provides training teachers can adopt to create more engaging learning. This program is expected to be an innovative model that can be applied in other primary schools to holistically improve students’ numeracy literacy.

Abstract

Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah (UMKM) di Indonesia memiliki kontribusi signifikan terhadap perekonomian negara. Namun, hingga saat ini masih banyak pelaku UMKM yang menghadapi tantangan dalam meningkatkan nilai jual produk, salah satunya adalah ketidakmampuan dalam memperoleh sertifikasi halal. Hal ini disebabkan oleh kurangnya pemahaman mengenai proses dan pentingnya sertifikasi halal. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan edukasi kepada pelaku UMKM Binaan UCIC Cirebon mengenai pentingnya sertifikasi halal dalam meningkatkan nilai jual produk. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah penyampaian materi dan diskusi interaktif yang melibatkan partisipasi aktif pelaku UMKM Binaan UCIC. Hasil dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa pelaku UMKM kini lebih memahami pentingnya sertifikasi halal dan proses pengajuannya, serta mendapatkan pemahaman lebih dalam mengenai persyaratan dan prosedur sertifikasi halal yang diwajibkan oleh pemerintah melalui BPJPH. Dengan demikian, diharapkan para pelaku UMKM dapat secara mandiri melakukan proses pengajuan sertifikasi halal, yang pada akhirnya dapat meningkatkan nilai jual dan daya saing produk mereka di pasar.
