Abstract

Curriculum changes are part of the government's strategic policy to improve the quality of national education. This article aims to analyze government policies related to changes in the education curriculum over time until the birth of the Independent Curriculum, and examine its implications for improving the quality of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning in elementary schools. This study uses a qualitative approach with a library research method. Data were obtained from various written sources such as books, scientific journals, policy documents, and relevant laws and regulations, then analyzed using content analysis techniques. The results of the study indicate that curriculum changes in Indonesia, starting from the 1994 Curriculum, the 2004 KBK, the 2006 KTSP, the 2013 Curriculum, and the Independent Curriculum, reflect the government's ongoing efforts to adapt education to current developments and student needs. The implementation of the Independent Curriculum has positive implications for Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning in elementary schools, especially in encouraging more flexible, contextual, and student-centered learning. This curriculum opens up space for Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers to innovate through project-based learning and authentic assessment, thus enhancing not only knowledge but also students' religious attitudes and noble morals. Therefore, the Independent Curriculum has the potential to holistically improve the quality of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning if supported by teacher and school readiness

Abstract

This study aims to describe the principal's strategy in improving student achievement at Al-Azhar Palu Junior High School, the implementation of the strategy, and the impact it causes. The main problem raised in this study is how the principal’s strategy is to improve the achievement of students at Al-Azhar Palu Junior High School. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with the perspective of Islamic Education Management. Data was collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and analyzed through the stages of checking, grouping, examination, and drawing conclusions. The validity of the data is tested through credibility, transferability, dependability, and confirmability techniques. The results of the study show that the principal’s strategy at Al-Azhar Palu Junior High School has succeeded in improving the achievement of students as a whole, both in the academic, non-academic, and character formation fields. The strategies implemented include an interest- and talent-based approach, student-centered learning, and collaborative management between teachers, parents, and students. Strengthening character values such as discipline, responsibility, and the spirit of learning is also an integral part of the strategy. The implementation of the strategy is supported by a clear school vision, excellent programs, continuous improvement of teacher competence, and periodic evaluations. The impact can be seen from the increase in motivation, confidence, learning quality, and student achievement in various fields. The implications of this study suggest that the principal's adaptive and collaborative strategic approach can be a model for the development of student achievement in other schools, emphasizing the importance of visionary leadership, teacher professional development, and synergy between schools and parents.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze educational financing management at Pesantren Darul Qur’an Insan Cendekia Sukabumi by examining management functions, cost efficiency and effectiveness, as well as accountability and transparency in financial governance. The study employed a qualitative approach using a case study method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, document analysis, and focused group discussions involving pesantren leaders, financial administrators, and foundation representatives. Qualitative data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, with data validity ensured through technique and source triangulation. The findings indicate that educational financing planning at the pesantren is conducted in a structured and participatory manner, involving both pesantren leadership and the foundation, and aligned with the institution’s vision, mission, and flagship programs. The implementation of educational financing follows a controlled fund disbursement mechanism, contributing to efficient and well-targeted use of financial resources. Financial efficiency is maintained through internal analysis and auditing procedures conducted before and after fund disbursement, as well as regular evaluations comparing budget realization with program targets. Financial supervision is carried out through routine monitoring and evaluation, supported by accountability reports and internal audits that strengthen transparency and institutional responsibility. Overall, the study demonstrates that the integration of management functions with principles of efficiency and accountability plays a crucial role in ensuring sustainable and trustworthy educational financing management in pesantren-based educational institutions.

Abstract

The competition between Islamic educational institutions and public schools compels private Islamic schools to continually enhance their educational services to meet their goals. This study examines how Al-Azhar Islamic Junior High School improves its educational services using the marketing mix theory, which includes seven elements: product, price, place, promotion, people, physical evidence, and process. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, gathering data through interviews, observations, and documentation. Data analysis involved reduction, presentation, and concluding, with data validity ensured through triangulation. The findings show that the school effectively applies all seven marketing mix elements. The school adapts academic and non-academic programs to align with its mission, manages pricing independently, and uses its central location as a community attraction despite traffic congestion. Promotional strategies leverage social media and consumer satisfaction, while human resources are strengthened through quality recruitment and ongoing training. Physical evidence is reflected in the provision of distinctive, high-quality infrastructure. The learning process focuses on maintaining teaching quality. The study concludes that employing marketing mix theory is an effective strategy for improving educational services and competitiveness in the face of public school competition.

Abstract

Digital transformation has changed the global education paradigm, requiring adaptive, responsive, and outcome-oriented curriculum. In Indonesia, the implementation of Outcome-Based Education (OBE) has become the main strategy to ensure graduates have 21st-century competencies relevant to industry and community demands. This study aims to (1) describe the transformation of the education curriculum in Indonesia, (2) analyze the implementation of OBE in the Master's Program in Islamic Education Management (MPI) at UIN Sunan Kalijaga, and (3) identify the challenges and opportunities of implementing OBE in the digital era. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection through interviews and a review of current literature. The implementation of OBE in MPI began in 2024 through faculty workshops and curriculum standardization, including the development of vision and mission statements, graduate profiles, and Graduate Learning Outcomes (GLOs). The main challenges include varying levels of digital competence among faculty members, resistance to change, and limited technical support. On the other hand, the digital era opens opportunities for increased scientific publications, research and mentoring efficiency, and real-time monitoring of learning outcomes. The findings of this study provide practical guidelines for program administrators and policymakers in optimizing OBE implementation, through strengthening human resource capacity, improving infrastructure, and integrating learning technology.
