AKSARA: Jurnal Bahasa dan Sastra (Journal of Linguistics and Literature) is a biannual journal (April and October) published by the Department of Language and Arts Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of Lampung. It addresses a wide range of different fields in linguistics, applied linguistics, arts, and literature. The journal aims to promote the development of links between research in linguistics, applied linguistics, arts, as well as literature and its application in professional and educational settings. Abstract

This research was conducted to describe the effectiveness of the use of the acrostic technique in teaching poetry writing at MTS Labor UIN STS Jambi. Issues in poetry writing at MTS Labor UIN STS Jambi can still be found, one of which is that students are not interested in writing poetry because it is difficult to determine the next word in writing poetry. The acrostic technique is a technique that makes it easier to write poetry. The method used was a quantitative type of quasi-experiment design with a one group pretest-posttest setting. Data analysis techniques used inferential statistics in the form of a t-test, preceded by a Homogeneity Test and a Normality Test. The results of the research showed a significant difference between the pretest and posttest results of students' poetry writing, where the significance value of the t-test obtained was 0.00, which was less than 0.05. This proves that the acrostic technique is effective in teaching poetry writing. Student difficulties in composing poetry can be overcome by using the acrostic technique. This research is limited by a short time. So it is hoped that future research can cnduct research with a longer time and combined with other learning models or approaches.Keywords: Effectiveness, Acrostic technique, poetry

Abstract

This study aims to reveal lexical semantic errors in the translation of Arabic story texts by students of SMA Al-Aziz Islamic Boarding School (IBS) Bandung. Analysis was carried out on translation errors found in the semantic aspect which are called semantic errors. Many semantic errors were found in the translation of Arabic into Indonesian by previous studies, but there were less of specifications. Semantic errors focus on the use of meaning that is not by the intent in the source language. This study used a qualitative approach with descriptive methods and error analysis techniques. The error description was based on James' theory (2013) which resulted in the discovery of 65 semantic errors which were divided into two categories, confusion of sense relation and collocation errors. This research is expected to be a reference for developing students' translation skills.Keywords: Error analysis, Semantic error, Translation

Abstract

This study aims to improve the ability of teachers in the preparation of learning implementation plans. This research uses the form of school research action research (PTS) which is carried out in 3 (three) cycles, carried out in 2 Bandar Lampung City Assisted Junior High Schools with the subject of research for all teachers in semester 2 of the 2021/2022 Academic Year totaling 20 people. The research method uses School Action Research. Data collection is carried out through observation, interviews and tests. Data analysis is carried out with 3 (three) stages including: data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions or verification. The hypothesis states that through the application of programmatic training and assistance, it can improve the ability of teachers in the preparation of learning implementation plans in 2 junior high schools assisted by Bandar Lampung City for the 2021/2022 Academic Year. Empirical data shows that coaching with programmatic training and assisted assistance can improve the ability of teachers of 2 junior high schools assisted by Bandar Lampung City in semester 2 of the 2022/2023 Academic Year in the preparation of a learning implementation plan from the initial condition of the teacher ability value of 63.16 in cycle III to 78.47. So it can be concluded that through the application of training and programmatic assistance, it can improve the ability of teachers to formulate a learning implementation plan.Keywords: teacher ability, lesson implementation plan, training, programmatic mentoring

Abstract

The use of figurative language with the aim of strengthening the message conveyed, which is embedded in social communication between people in one community in the context of daily communication, is a unique thing to explore. By using a qualitative approach, this study aims to find out the use of figurative language and the figurative meaning used. The data in this study was in the form of words, utterances or spoken sentences that contain figures of speech in everyday communication. The method used in data collection was the method of observing and recording techniques. The data obtained was then analyzed by selecting, sorting, classifying data, reading, studying and removing unnecessary data. The results of the study show that in social communication, the Saluan people in Batu Itam Village use a lot of figures of speech in the form of simile, namely comparing one object to another. Other objects that are used as comparisons are substitute objects that represent actual objects or allude to other objects but are not pronounced. The Saluan people also use visible objects to become figurative components.Keywords:  figurative language, social communication, simile

Abstract

This study aims to determine the increase in activity and learning outcomes of Indonesian language students in grade I at SDN Banjarsugihan V/617, Surabaya, use Project Based Learning (PjBL) learning. This researhed is a classroom action research carried out for two cycles conducted an class I SDN Banjarsugihan V/617 many as 26 students.Cycle I shows the completeness of student learning activities reaching 74.78% and student learning outcomes of 58%. In cycle II, student learning activities increased to 85.89%, while students learning outcomes achieved 88%. Based on the results of the research above, it can be concluding that the use of Project Based Learning (PjBL) learning can increase activities and learning outcomes of Indonesian language material for expressions of thanks, sorry and help class I students at SDN Banjarsugihan V./617 Surabaya semester I 2022-2023 school years.  Keywords: Project Based Learning (PjBL), learning outcomes, Learning Activities

Abstract

The objectives of this school action research are: (1) describing the improvement of the Training Guidance process in improving the ability of teachers to develop learning planning by integrating PPK, 4C, Literacy and HOTS and (2) describing the improvement of teachers' abilities in developing integrated learning planning PPK, 4C, Literacy, and HOTS through training guidance and joint studies at SMPN 24 Bandar Lampung in semester 2 of the 2022/2023 Academic Year. This study was conducted with the subjects of the study of 24 teachers. This research is a school action research with research steps of planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The implementation of actions is carried out as many as two cycles, each cycle is carried out 2 meetings.The results of the study are as follows: (1) there is an increase in proses training guidance in learning planning development research by integrating PPK, 4C, Literacy and HOTS at SMPN 24 Bandar Lampung in semester 2 of the 2022/2023 academic year from cycle I to cycle II. There is an increase in the ability of teachers to develop integrated learning planning for PPK, 4C, Literacy, and HOTS through the training guidance process, which is 19.37 (33.04%) from the initial condition of the average score of 58.63 increased to 70.50 at the end of cycle I action, and increased again to 78.00 at the end of cycle II action. Thus, it can be concluded that by improving the process of training guidance and joint studies, it is proven to improve the ability of teachers to develop integrated learning planning for PPK, 4C, Literacy, and HOTS at SMPN 24 Bandar Lampung Semester 2 of the 2012/2013 Academic Year.Keywords: Ability, Bimlat, PPK, 4C, Literacy, HOTS Keywords: Ability, Bimlat, PPK, 4C, Literacy, HOTS

Abstract

Gundala is an Indonesian superhero character created by a comic artist from Yogyakarta named Hasmi in 1969. The author's social background makes Gundala thick with Javanese cultural values. In 2019, Gundala was retold by the duet of Is Yuniarto and Sweta Kartika in the title Gundala Son of Lightning (GSOL). The two comic artists came from Surabaya and Kebumen. This study aims to find the value of heroism in the Gundala version (GSOL) according to Serat Wedhatama. This research uses the theory of literary sociology and uses descriptive qualitative methods. The results showed that there is a new version of Gundala's heroic value which is reflected through being willing to sacrifice, humble and soothing the hearts of others, willing to lose, and patient. The conclusion is that although the character Gundala was created by a comic artist who is different from the original version, the value of Javanese culture, in this case the value of heroism, is still strongly possessed by this character.Keywords: Gundala, Sociology of Literature, Values, Heroism, Wedhatama Fiber

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji tentang penggunaan media gambar berseri terhadap rendahnya kemampuan menulis teks fabel pada siswa. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan pengaruh penggunann media media gambar berseri terhadap kemampuan menulis teks fabel pada siswa kelas VII MTs Muhammadiyah Kota Jambi tahun ajaran 2022/2023. Penelitian ini dilakukan di MTs Muhammadiyah Kota Jambi kelas VII A sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VII B sebagai kelas kontrol. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian kuantitatif semu atau quasi eksperimen. Hasil penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa adanya perubahan dari hasil menulis siswa setelah diberi perlakuan pada kelas eksperimen. Pada hasil pre-test diperoleh nilai rata-rata siswa sebesar 64,17, sedangkan pada hasil post-test diperoleh nilai rata-rata siswa sebesar 86,67 dan nilai Sig. 0,000. Hal ini menunjukan adanya pengaruh dari penggunaan media gambar berseri terhadap kemampuan menulis teks fabel pada siswa kelas VII MTs Muhammadiyah Kota Jambi. Dari hasil tersebut, disarankan agar pembelajaran menulis teks fabel perlu menggunakan media gambar berseri terhadap kemampuan menulis teks fabel pada siswa dan untuk peneliti lanjutan disarankan untuk dapat mengembangkan penggunaan media gambar berseri dengan menerapkan di materi lain yang belum perna dicoba dalam pembelajaran menulis agar dapat mengembangkan dan meningkatkan pengetahuan di bidang pendidikan. Kata kunci: gambar berseri, menulis, teks fabel

Abstract

According to a variety of academic works, implicature is a tool used by pragmatics to address the issue of linguistic meaning. Grice 1975 holds the following opinion. There have been numerous studies on implicature, primarily looking at conventional and conversational implicatures. However, the results of the conversational implicature research in novels, which is characterized by a breach of the cooperative principle, are still ambiguous. As a result, this study aimed to describe the conversational implicatures in Ahmad Fuadi's novel “Negeri 5 Menara” that are marked by violations of the cooperative principles. A qualitative methodology was used to carry out this study. The novel "Negeri 5 Menara" by Ahmad Fuadi served as the study's primary source of data. Conversations between characters that involve violations of the maxims in the cooperation principle serve as the study's source of data. Data were collected by careful reading, looking at sentences with implicatures, selecting, classifying data based on the breach of the violations of the cooperative principles. The collected data were then analyzed descriptively. The study's findings demonstrate that a total of 84 occurrences that violate the cooperative principles were found. The violation of maxims on the principle of cooperation consists of four maxims, namely the maxims of quantity, quality, relation, and manner. The findings have several implications for language education, particularly in the Indonesian context. Limitations and recommendations for furher research are also discussed. Keywords: communication, communicative, literary works, education, Indonesia

Abstract

This research aims to describe the forms of language phenomena such as monolingual, bilingual, and multilingual in the linguistic landscape of Bandar Lampung city. As one of the major cities in Sumatra, Bandar Lampung is a melting pot of various communities with different backgrounds. Bandar Lampung is also a student city in Lampung Province, which leads to language contact phenomena that arise in Bandar Lampung. The Linguistic Landscape can be used to observe these phenomena. This research is qualitative in nature, and data is obtained from observations made through the Google Maps application. The data collection technique used is note-taking and observation. Data analysis techniques used in this research include data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and concluding. The results of this research indicate the presence of monolingual, bilingual, and multilingual forms in the linguistic landscape of Bandar Lampung. These forms can be seen in syntactic structures such as words, phrases, clauses, and even sentences. The emergence of these three forms is influenced by economic, religious, ethnic, and educational factors. In this research, the researcher restricted the data collection to texts outside of enclosed spaces.Keywords: Bandar Lampung City, bilingual, linguistic landscape, monolingual, multilingual
