AKSARA: Jurnal Bahasa dan Sastra (Journal of Linguistics and Literature) is a biannual journal (April and October) published by the Department of Language and Arts Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of Lampung. It addresses a wide range of different fields in linguistics, applied linguistics, arts, and literature. The journal aims to promote the development of links between research in linguistics, applied linguistics, arts, as well as literature and its application in professional and educational settings. Abstract

Each region always has a variety of oral literature that is different, both in characteristics and uniqueness that holds a variety of potential as a tourist attraction that is worth developing. This research examines the tourism potential of Sendang Sayuti Melik. The purpose of this research is to find out what stories are contained in the Sendang Sayuti Melik to find out how the community's efforts in developing the tourism potential that exists in Kadilobo village. This research is descriptive qualitative. Then, the methods used in this research consist of data collection methods and data analysis methods. The results showed that the community's efforts in developing the tourism potential that exists in the spring are planning to make a monument to Sayuti Melik located next to the village. However, in line with Community Based Tourism, namely efforts to develop a community-based tourism object, it is necessary to apply several principles such as including community members in starting every aspect, developing the quality of life of the community, maintaining the uniqueness of character and culture in the local area, helping the development of learning about cultural exchange in the community.  These principles are to create community-based tourism management, namely the natural resources in Kadilobo village. The effort to develop the potential contained in the spring in the hope that the outside community can know and recognize the existence of the Sendang in Kadilobo village.Keywords: oral literature, sendang, sayuti melik, kadilobo

Abstract

This study aims to describe the types of coordination in the Acehnese language at the clause level and determine whether the language can be classified as accusative or ergative. The research utilizes a qualitative descriptive approach to outline the pivot system in Acehnese and formulate applicable patterns using coordination structures as a combination of clauses in testing the pivot system. The findings of this study reveal four types of coordination in Acehnese: intransitive-intransitive, intransitive-transitive, transitive-intransitive, and transitive-transitive. Furthermore, the presence of syntactic ergativity properties can be observed in coordinated sentences in Acehnese, resulting from the elision of referential arguments when they function as patients and subjects. Additionally, Acehnese also exhibits syntactic accusative properties, where arguments from intransitive clauses are elided and co-referenced with agents. Keywords: Coordination Structure, Pivot, Aceh Language, Typology

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using the media song "Membasuh" by the Indies in improving the poetry writing skills of class X at SMKN 1 Rawamerta. The research method used in this study is a quantitative method with an experimental design involving two classes; experimental class and control class. This research was conducted at SMKN 1 Rawamerta by taking two classes as samples, namely class X TKJ 1 with a total of 36 students and X TO 2 with a total of 34 students. Researchers obtain data by conducting pre-test/pretest and final testposttest on both samples. Data collection begins withpretest, then do the treatment/treatment, and the last one didposttest. Data acquisition and analysis results show that there is a significant difference between the experimental class that uses song media and the control class that does conventional learning. These results can be proven in non-parametric testsMann-Whitney with Asymp results. sig. 0.00 0.05 which proves that there is a significant difference between the experimental class and the control class. The effectiveness of learning is proven by testingN-Gain Score on both samples. The calculation results prove that learning in the experimental class is more effective with an acquisition of 57.10% in the category of quite effective, compared to learning that is applied to the control class with an acquisition of 17.51% in the category of ineffective.Keywords: Utilization of Song, Song Media, Poetry Writing Skills

Abstract

In semantic studies, there is a relationship between words and meaning. However, language learners often experience difficulties in assigning meaning to a word or sentence. The purpose of this research is to find out in depth about polysemy, the causes of its occurrence and examples of polysemy in verb and noun forms. This research uses descriptive qualitative method. Data collection techniques use library research using journals and books that are relevant to the discussion. Data analysis techniques use the relevant data collection stages, data reduction, grouping and selecting the necessary data, then providing temporary conclusions and verifying the data. The final stage is data collection and data presentation systematically (data display). The results of this study are polysemy is a relationship between words that are often used in several sentences or different contexts, or can be interpreted as a word that has more than one meaning. So that polysemy has a basic meaning and a derived meaning. The main causes of polysemy are; (1) dialect development (2) figurative language, (3) sharaf rules, (4) mixing of other languages and (5) language development. Polysemy can occur as nouns and verbs. Words that contain polysemy meaning can occur in noun and verb forms. An example of polysemy is the noun يد which has many meanings, including hands, help/power/strength, thief, power/will, guidance, giver, cash (cash) and virtue/kindness. The word وجه has many meanings including face, beginning/beginning, surrender, not feeling humiliated, right, actually, absolutely, substance, apostasy and equality. The word قام in the Qur'an has many meanings, including standing, implementing, replacing and held. The verb نصر when experiencing derivation has many meanings including helping, being Christian, helping each other, winning and asking for help.

Abstract

The problems discussed in this study are related to the development of the quality Reading instruction through a contextual approach for students of English language program. The purpose of the study is to improve the quality of Reading learning through a contextual approach to students of the English Language Education Study Program, FKIP, University of Lampung. This research employed Class Action Research (CAR) which is intended to provide information on how to take appropriate actions to improve student activities in the learning process with a contextual learning approach that has an impact on increasing student learning achievement. The results showed that the quality of Reading learning increased through a contextual approach in the English Language Education Study Program students. In the first cycle, the average achievement score stands at 62.4, which then rises to 68.7 in the second cycle, and further increases to 77.2 in the third cycle. This proves that the use of a contextual approach is able to improve the quality of reading learning for English Language Education Study Program students, FKIP, University of Lampung.

Abstract

Film is an interesting work of art which has aspects in it, one of which is the social aspect whichrefers to feelings. Women are one aspect that is very sensitive to feelings and emotions. This understanding is feminism. This research attempts to examine how existentialist feminism is expressed in the film Photocopier. This research is descriptive and qualitative in nature and thesource of the data used in this research is a film transcript entitled “Photocopier”. The data obtained were analyzed using the theory of existentialist feminism. Data collection methods and techniques in this study used narrative methods in the form of documents, texts, or readings and writings. Methods and techniques of data analysis in this study used a qualitative descriptive method which was carried out through image descriptions and forms of existentialist feminism. This study found that transcendence can be achieved based on the four strategies applied, based on Beauvoir's theory of existentialist feminism, namely: 1. Women can work in the film Photocopier, 2. Women can become intellectuals in the film Photocopier, 3. Women achieve socialist transformation in the film Photocopier, 4. Abstract

This research aims to improve students’ writing skills at SMP Negeri 15 Bandar Lampung by using the Clustering technique. The participants of this research were the students in eighth grade. The total numbers of students were 33 students. Employing classroom action research, this study was carried out for two cycles at VIIIA. The main emphasis of this study was the improvement of students' learning activities and writing skills. In cycle 1, students were less engaged, less self-assured, and the classroom environment was still out of control. The cycle one learning activities' mean score for students was 6.53, which had a subpar predicate. Cycle 2 revealed an improvement in the students. They were more engaged and self-assured, and the environment in the classroom was entertaining and under control. The students' cycle two learning activities had an average score of 7.50 and a favourable predicate. Additionally, in cycle one writing test had a mean score of 64.81, with 16 students or 48.48% passing the goal. It indicates that students' writing abilities have improved. The writing test for students in cycle 2 had a mean score of 77.39; 27 students, or 81.82%, passed the target. From the data shown, it could be concluded that classroom action research using the Clustering technique can improve students' learning activities and writing skills.

Abstract

Muhadatsah learning in class X-AKL SMK Daarut Tauhiid Boarding School is carried out through project-based learning. Students have more real learning experiences, namely by practicing muhadatsah by making video projects which will be uploaded on the YouTube channel so that it provides the benefit of the wider community as a comparison or intensive learning. The gap in this study is focused on muhadatsah learning through project-based learning where the learning process is student-centered to gain knowledge and skills in learning. This study aims to analyze how muhadatsah learning is through project-based learning starting from planning, implementation process, and evaluation. Data collection was carried out by observation, interview, and documentation methods. In this study, researchers used descriptive qualitative methods, namely research methods by describing muhadatsah learning through project-based learning. The study results showed that muhadatsah learning through project-based learning in class X-AKL of Daarut Tauhiid Boarding School Vocational School with stages or paths that students must do during learning is quite clear and structured. Success can be seen in this project-based learning, where students actively collaborate, communicate, ask questions, and express opinions. Meanwhile, the drawback is that it requires a long time and limited media for making projects. From these results, it is suggested to be more intensive in monitoring the work of students' assignments so that time can be more effective at each meeting and to ask permission for media access to student dormitory supervisors.Keywords: Learning, muhadatsah, project-based learning

Abstract

The novel is one means of expressing a history and the existence of forms of interaction in each plot of the novel. This study aims to describe the forms of social interaction experienced by the main characters Surya and Segara Alam in the novels Noda Tak Kasat Mata by Agnes Jessica and Pulang by Leila S. Chudori. The approach used is Georg Simmel’s literary sociology theory approach. The research method used is descriptive qualitative research method. The data sources used are the novels Noda Tak Kasat Mata by Agnes Jessica and Pulang by Leila S. Chudori. The data used are excerpts from interactions between characters in the form of short dialogues. Data collection techniques used literature study and note-taking techniques for the two novels. The results of the study found that the forms of interaction experienced by the figures Surya and Segara Alam were exchange, conflict, domination, and sociability. Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out the use of conjunctions in the opinion rubric in the May 2023 edition of the Kompas.com digital newspaper and to describe the use of conjunctions in the opinion rubric in the May 2023 edition of the Kompas.com digital newspaper which can be recommended as teaching material for editorial texts in class. XII SMA for the 2023/2024 academic year. This study uses a qualitative approach and descriptive method. The subject of this study was the opinion rubric of the May 2023 edition of the digital newspaper Kompas.com and the object of this study was the use of conjunctions in the opinion rubric of the May 2023 edition of the digital newspaper Kompas.com. Data collection techniques in this study were observation, documentation, and observation. note. Data analysis techniques in this study used three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Based on the results of research on the use of conjunctions in the opinion column of the May 2023 edition of the digital newspaper Kompas.com, 239 sentences used 412 types of conjunctions, consisting of 244 data on the use of coordinating conjunctions and 168 data on the use of subordinating conjunctions. The results of research on using conjunctions in the opinion rubric in the May 2023 edition of the digital newspaper Kompas.com can be recommended as teaching material for editorial texts in class XII high school in the 2023/2024 academic year. Keywords: conjunctions, rubrics, opinions, digital newspapers, editorial text teaching materials
