Abstract

This research aims to compare the value-added in the production of green bean long berry coffee variants in Kawa Gayo home industry in Central Aceh Regency with the production of long berry coffee powder variants that are ready to be brewed and consumed. This value-added analysis research uses the Hayami method. Sample determination in this research uses purposive sampling method where the researcher relies on their own judgment when selecting population members to participate in this research. The data used in this research include primary data and secondary data. The results of the research show that the value-added of the green bean long berry coffee variant is greater than that of the long berry coffee powder variant, with a value-added amounting to Rp. 8,500. This is in line with the total profit obtained by Kawa Gayo home industry through the production of green bean long berry variant, which is greater with a total profit of Rp. 116,000 compared to the production result of long berry coffee powder variant. Besides the scale of the business, the factors influencing the greater value-added of the green bean long berry variant are influenced by the low contribution of other inputs, as Kawa Gayo home industry uses very few third parties in its production activities.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran petani perempuan terhadap pengambilan keputusan usahatani kentang di Desa Barusjahe Kabupaten Karo Provinsi Sumatera Utara. Penentuan sampel pada penelitian ini dilakukan dengan purposive sampling dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 25 orang petani perempuan. Data yang diperoleh berupa data primer dan data sekunder. Data primer diperoleh secara langsung dengan wawancara kepada sampel dengan menggunakan alat bantu kuesioner. Data yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis dengan analisis deskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif yang diolah dalam bentuk tabulasi tabel. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa peran petani perempuan terhadap pengambilan keputusan usahatani kentang di Desa Barusjahe sebesar 73%. Peran petani perempuan seperti pemilihan jenis benih, jumlah benih, jumlah tenaga kerja pengolahan lahan, waktu penyiraman, jumlah tenaga kerja, penyiraman, jenis pupuk, waktu pemupukan, waktu panen, jumlah tenaga kerja, pencucian, pemilihan (sortasi), pengkelasan (grading), pengemasan, dan penyimpanan. Abstract

The low production of potatoes in Indonesia is caused by the inadequate availability of quality potato seeds from conventional methods. The tissue culture method is able to produce quality and virus-free seeds, in large quantities and in a short time. This study aims to obtain the best concentrations of NAA (Naphthalene Acetic Acid) and BAP (6-benzylaminopurine) in various explants for the growth of potato shoots (Solanum tuberosum L.) Granola variety in vitro. The research was conducted at UPT Seed Main Kutagadung Berastagi, Karo Regency from February to May 2023. The explants used were leaves taken from potato seed sprouts in vitro. The research was conducted using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 12 treatments and repeated 4 times. The treatments tested consisted of: A (without growth regulator); B (0.5 mg/l NAA), C (1 mg/l NAA), D (1mg/l BAP); E (1.5 mg/l BAP);F (2 mg/l BAP); G (0.5 mg/l NAA + 1 mg/l BAP); H(0.5 mg/l NAA + 1.5 mg/l BAP);I (0.5 mg/l NAA + 2 mg/l BAP); J (1 mg/l NAA + 1mg/l BAP);K (1 mg/l NAA + 1.5 mg/l BAP); L (1 mg/l NAA + 2.0 mg/l BAP). The results showed that the concentration of BAP 1 mg/l was the best treatment in producing the number of shoots, branches, leaves and nodes in intercalary meristem explants. Giving NAA (Napthelene Acetic Acid) in MS media had a significant effect. Furthermore, giving a combination of NAA and BAP did not have a real effect on all the observed parameters measured.

Abstract

Keberadaan desa wisata ditengah kehidupan masyarakat pedesaan jelas menimbulkan beberapa dampak bagi masyarakat setempat itu sendiri. Dampak yang bermunculan pun bisa dampak positif maupun negatif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui lebih dalam lagi dampak sosial dan dampak ekonomi apa saja yang terjadi dalam masyarakat setempat pasca berdirinya Desa Wisata Mangrove Tanjung Rejo di Kecamatan Percut Sei Tuan Kabupaten Deli Serdang. Dan dengan diemikian, diharapkan pula pienielitian ini mampu mienambah wawasan masyarakat tientang pierkiembangan dan piengielolaan diesa wisata, sierta dampak yang ditimbulkannya. Diesa Wisata Mangrovie Tanjung Riejo adalah satu-satunya diesa wisata mangrovie yang ada di Kabupatien Dieli Sierdang, Sumatiera Utara. Diesa Tanjung Riejo miemiliki hamparan hutan mangrovie yang masih asri sieluas 602.181 Ha. Diesa Wisata Mangrovie Tanjung Riejo diriesmikan  olieh Bupati Dieli Sierdang pada tanggal 05 April Tahun 2022. Tujuan dari pienielitian ini untuk miengietahui dampak sosial dan iekonomi yang timbul pasca bierdirinya  Diesa Wisata Mangrovie Tanjung Riejo pada masyarakat. Piendiekatan yang dilakukan diengan piendiekatan kuantitatif, diengan jumlah sampiel siebanyak 30 orang. Mietodie piengumpulan data dilakukan diengan kuisionier, wawancara, dan dokumientasi. Data dianalisis diengan tieknik analisis statistik diengan mienggunakan piersientasie mienggunakan uji bieda (t-tiest). Hasil pienielitian ini mienyatakan bahwa tierdapat pierubahan yang signifikan baik siecara sosial dan iekonomi siebielum dan sietielah adanya piengiembangan Diesa Wisata Mangrovie Tanjung Riejo di Kiecamatan Piercut Siei Tuan. Hal ini bierdasarkan dari hasil uji t dimana untuk sietiap dampak yang di tieliti nilai Sig. 0,000 < 0,05, siehingga tierdapat pierubahan kondisi sietielah masyarakat mienierapkan konsiep diesa wisata bierbasis masyarakat.

Abstract

This study aims to modify the design of a coffee bean huller machine to enhance the efficiency and quality of the hulling process. The background of this research lies in the importance of agricultural technology development in improving productivity and the quality of agricultural products, particularly in coffee processing. Existing huller machines have several drawbacks such as low hulling efficiency and damage to the coffee beans produced.  The methodology employed in this research includes literature review, user needs analysis, conceptual modification design, prototype fabrication, and machine performance testing. Various technical aspects such as machine speed, hulling design, and pressure adjustment mechanisms were considered in the modification process. The results of the study show that modifications to the huller machine design can improve the efficiency of the coffee bean hulling process and reduce bean damage. Performance testing of the machine prototype yielded increase in efficiency compared to conventional huller machines. Additionally, the quality of the coffee beans produced also improved, with lower levels of damage. Thus, the modification of the huller machine design has the potential to enhance productivity and quality in the coffee bean hulling process, contributing positively to agricultural technology development in the coffee plantation sector.

Abstract

Kailan plants are spread in Southeast Asia, West and East Africa, West India, and some tropical areas. Kailan entered Indonesia around the 17th century, but this vegetable is quite popular and in demand among the people, so it has quite good marketing prospects. Commercial vegetable business and development can be considered as one of the efforts to increase income in agriculture. Kailan has a fairly high nutritional content, namely in every 100 grams of your raw material it contains 3500 IU of vitamin A, 0.11 mg of vitamin B1, 90 grams of water, 3.6 grams of fat, 1.6 mg of niacin, 78.0 mg of calcium , 1.0 mg of iron, 38.0 mg of magnesium and 74.0 mg of phosphorus. Organic farming systems besides having a good impact on health and the environment, also have a higher selling value when compared to organic farming. Organic fertilizer is an important element that can increase agricultural production and productivity in Indonesia.BSF has a variety of symbiotic bacteria including Bacillus sp. Which is useful as a plant pathogen control agent. In addition, these bacteria are also useful as rhizobacteria which promote plant growth. The application of organic fertilizers to the soil is intended as a soil enhancer (amelioran) to improve the physical, chemical and biological fertility of the soil in the long term. The main challenge that hinders the use of organic fertilizers is the limited sources of organic matter, as most organic resources have other competing uses such as feeding livestock on farms. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of cassava fertilizer and rice husk Biochar on the growth and production of kailan plants in soil origin. The research was conducted at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Al-Washliyah Medan, in Simalingkar B with a height of ± 18 meters above sea level. The time of the research will start from July to August 2023. This research uses a Randomized Factorial Group Design which consists of 2 factors, namely: Factor I. Origin of Land (T) T1 = Origin of Langkat Regency, T2 = Origin of Deli Serdang Regency, T3 = Origin of Regency Labuhan Batu. Factor II. Application of Kasgot and Rice Husk Biochar (dose of 15 tons/ha) A0 = Control, A1 = Biochar 25% + Kasgot, A2 = Biochar 50% + Kasgot. The results showed that the use of cassava fertilizer and rice husk biochar along with some soil origins had a significant effect on plant height, stem diameter, number of leaves and wet weight. The highest height of kailan plants was in treatment A1 (75 grams of rice husk biochar and 25 grams of cassava) which was 18.44 cm and the wet weight of kailan plants was 6.89 grams. stone harbor (T3) and Sampali soil (T2).

Abstract

The aims of this research are (1) to see the extent of the development contribution provided by the existence of Gundaling Farmstead integrated agrotourism in Lau Gumba Village, (2) What is the impact of Gundaling Farmstead integrated agrotourism on the socio-economics of the surrounding community. The research steps begin with an initial identification process, then data collection (interviews and questionnaires), tabulation, data analysis, until finally producing conclusions and report suggestions. The community population in Jaranguda Hamlet, Lau Gumba Village, is 459 people based on the initial survey. Determination of the sample in this research was by using simple random sampling. For sampling, the Arikunto formula was used so that the sample taken was 45 people. The analytical method used is descriptive analysis and t-test statistical analysis. The results of this research show that there are real differences in social and economic conditions before and after the existence of the Gundaling Farmstead integrated agrotourism in Lau Gumba Village, Berastagi District, Karo Regency with the results of the t test. Social criteria: t table = 2.014 while t count = 31.737, then t count > t table, so H1 is accepted and H0 is rejected. Economic criteria: t table = 2.014 while t count = 23.991, then t count > t table, so H1 is accepted and H0 is rejected. The existence of the Gundaling Farmstead Integrated Agrotourism in Lau Gumba Village is proven by the results of hypothesis testing showing that there have been changes in social and economic conditions that are better than before the existence of this agrotourism.

Abstract

Agriculture plays an important role in economic, social and environmental development in Indonesia. As the main sector, agriculture contributes to food security, creates jobs, provides industrial raw materials, and is a source of foreign exchange for the country through exports of agricultural products. Apart from that, agriculture also plays a role in managing natural resources and the environment through sustainable agricultural practices. Agricultural development in rural areas can also strengthen rural development and improve community welfare (Septiana, 2019). controlling the plant's growing environment, aeroponic systems can ensure optimal growth throughout the year, increasing productivity and food security.Potatoes have always been one of the crucial food commodities in Indonesia. In fact, demand continues to increase from year to year. However, production is still fluctuating due to the unstable quality of the seeds. For this reason, it is hoped that a solution can help increase the amount of potato production by examining new discoveries in potato seed cultivation propagation techniques. Aeroponic technology is here to provide a solution to increase the quality of potato seed production. Aeroponics is a technique for cultivating seeds without soil and plant nutrition is obtained from water or a solution that is sprayed in the form of mist. The procedures carried out in the aeroponic technique are preparation of aeroponic equipment and boxes, preparation of potato seeds, planting potato plants, and maintenance (Febriansyah, 2020).

Abstract

Penelitian mengenai Analisis Margin Pemasaran Jambu Biji (Psidium guajava L) telah dilaksanakan dengan baik. Penelitian dilakukan di Desa Kuta Mbelin, Kecamatan Pancur Batu, Kabupaten Deli Serdang, Provinsi Sumatera Utara, terhitung November 2023 sampai dengan Mei 2024. Penelitian menggunakan metode sensus yaitu 25 orang petani jambu biji yang ada di lokasi penelitian yang seluruhnya diambil sebagai sampel penelitian. Sensus adalah teknik penentuan sampel bila semua anggota populasi digunakan sebagai sampel. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif yaitu pola saluran pemasaran dan perantara lembaga pemasaran, biaya dan margin pemasaran ditingkat lembaga pemasaran yaitu dengan menghitung besarnya biaya, keuntungan dan margin pemasaran pada tiap lembaga pemasaran pada berbagai saluran, dan Biaya pemasaran yaitu biaya yang dikeluarkan untuk memasarkan suatu komoditi dari produsen ke konsumen. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah dilaksanakan mengenai pola saluran pemasaran jambu biji Desa Kuta Mbelih terdapat empat saluran yaitu Petani - pedagang pengumpul - pedagang pengecer - konsumen akhir 9 orang atau 30%, Petani - pedagang besar - pedagang pengecer – konsumen akhir sebanyak 12 orang atau 40%, Petani -pedangang pengecer -konsumen akhir sebanyak 7 orang atau 23,3%, dan Petani – konsumen akhir sebanyak 2 orang atau 6,67%. Hasil analisis saluran pemasaran memiliki rasio keuntungan terhadap biaya yang paling besar yaitu 39 persen dan farmer’s share 100 persen, akan tetapi saluran pemasaran IV tidak dijadikan pembanding dalam efisiensi saluran pemasaran karena petani menjual hasil panennya langsung kepada konsumen akhir tidak melalui lembaga pemasaran.

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pupuk TSP dan KCL terhadap pertumbuhan hasil tanaman kentang. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok Faktorial yang terdiri atas dua faktor; Pertama TSP 5 taraf yaitu T0 (Kontrol), T1 (3 g), T2 (6 g), T3 (9 g), dan T4 (12 g) dan kedua KCL juga 5 traf K0 (Kontrol), K1 (1,5 g), K2 (3 g), K3 (4,5 g), dan K4 (6 g). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tinggi tanaman pengaruh TSP pada 3 MST tidak berbeda nyata satu sama lain. Tinggi tanaman yang optimum pengaruh pupuk TSP pada 9 MST adalah T2 (50,2 cm). Pengaruh pupuk KCL menunjukkan, rata-rata pertumbuhan tinggi tanaman pada 3 MST 11,6 cm (K0) – 17,7 cm (K4). Perlakuan pupuk KCL yang optimum adalah K2 (48,2 cm pada 9 MST). Berat umbi kentang per sampel 379,5 g (T0) - 516,3 g (T3). T1 (444,5 g) merupakan perlakuan yang optimum. Berat umbi kentang pengaruh pupuk KCL 387,5 g (K0) – 557,0 g (K4). K3 4,5 g (498,3 g) adalah perlakuan yang optimum. Berat umbi per plot pengaruh pupuk TSP T0 (5831 g) - T3 (7042 g). Perlakuan pupuk TSP optimum adalah T2 6 gr/ tanaman (6562 g). Berat umbi per plot pengaruh pupuk KCL 4591 g (K0) – 7212 g (K1). Berat umbi per plot tertinggi K1 7212 g. Semakin besar pupuk KCL yang digunakan, semakin berkurang rata-rata berat umbi kentang per plotnya.
