Abstract

. This study aims to investigate the relationship between parent support, peer support, and academic resilience. This study used a quantitative method with a correlational design. The sample of the study was 165 students, selected using the purposive sampling technique with the criteria: students at least in the seventh semester and currently working on the final paper at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education. Peer and parent support was measured using the social support questionnaire developed by the researchers, while academic resilience was measured using The Academic Resilience: Scale-30 (ARS-30). Data analysis was performed using multiple linear regression and assisted by the SPSS 25.00 for Windows application. The results of the study showed that most students (52%) had high resilience; 98% of students had a moderate level of parent support; and all students (100%) had a moderate level of peer support. Based on the partial test results, it can be concluded that there is a relationship between parent support and academic resilience, but no relationship between peer support and academic resilience. However, the results of the simultaneous test showed that peer support and parent support are correlated with academic resilience.

Abstract

This study aims to: (i) assess the understanding of career planning among the 10th-grade students at MAN Sorong; (ii) create a practical, valid, and engaging career guidance module aimed at improving their comprehension of career planning; and (iii) demonstrate that the utilization of this module can enhance the understanding of career planning among these students. Adopting the research and development framework established by Borg and Gall, this study employed scales, observations, and Focus Group Discussion (FGD) for data collection.  The results showed that: (i) the level of career planning understanding among 10th-grade students at MAN Sorong was low, emphasizing the necessity for a career guidance module as a counseling tool to enhance their understanding; (ii) the developed career guidance module was deemed valid, practical, and engaging, as affirmed by the utility, feasibility, and accuracy assessments conducted by experts and field practitioners; and (iii) implementing the career guidance module effectively enhances the understanding of career planning among 10th-grade students at MAN Sorong. Additionally, the module’s acceptability is confirmed through a limited group test involving 10 students who are ready to utilize it in school to improve their grasp of career planning.

Abstract

The goal of this study is to examine how self-efficacy and teacher social support relate to self-regulated learning in 4th and 5th-grade elementary school students. A quantitative correlation research method was employed, utilizing questionnaires to assess self-efficacy, teacher social support, and self-regulated learning. The research participants were 4th and 5th grade students in two elementary schools in Surabaya with a research sample of 156 people aged 9-12 years, comprising 91 girls and 65 boys. Data analysis was conducted using a multiple linear regression test utilizing IBM SPSS version 26. The result of this study showed that there is a relationship between self-efficacy and teacher's social support for self-regulated learning of elementary school students with a significant value (p=0.021). However, when analyzed individually, the self-efficacy variable did not significantly affect self-regulated learning (p = 0.596), whereas teacher social support did have a significant impact (p = 0.006). The coefficient of determination (R²) obtained was 0.079, indicating that self-efficacy and teacher social support together explain only 7.9% of the variance in self-regulated learning. This suggests that a substantial proportion of self-regulated learning in elementary school students is influenced by other factors
