Abstract

This study aims to produce a valid, practical, and effective Math Bilbul gamification learning media based on Construct 2 on integer number material in VII grade. The development model used is 4D (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). Data collection techniques use observation, documentation, tests, and questionnaires. The instruments used are validation sheets, 8 descriptive questions and user response questionnaires. Data are analyzed descriptively quantitatively according to the research stage. The results of qualitative validation by material experts reached a score percentage of 94.7% and media of 92% with very valid criteria. The results of student and teacher responses at the small and large class trial stages showed that the media developed was very practical and effective to use based on the results of classical learning completion of 90%. This Math-bilbul can be used as an alternative interactive game-based learning media.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explore Ethnomathematics of Geometry concepts in Kedatun Keagungan traditional house architecture. It is hoped that students will more easily explore understanding of mathematical abstractness through visual representations in familiar cultural forms. Learning mathematics by linking the surrounding culture so that learning is more meaningful for students. This research is a qualitative research with an ethnographic approach. Data collection techniques begin with observation, compiling and validating instruments, documentation studies and FGD. Data analysis technique uses the Spradley model. Based on the research results, it was found that Ethnomathematics in the Kedatun Keagungan traditional house has applied mathematical concepts both to the components of the house building and the ornaments inside which include: (1) the concept of geometry which consists of shapes, shapes and angles, (2) the concept of Geometry Transformations consisting of Symmetrical properties, Translation properties, Reflections, and Dilations. The results of this research can be used as a reference in developing teaching materials on Geometry material so that learning becomes more meaningful.

Abstract

This research aims to produce a learning trajectory that can help students understand the concept of circles using the Indonesian Realistic Mathematics Education (PMRI) approach. This research takes the context of the traditional game "gobak sodor" which developed from an informal form to a formal form. The research method used is a research design that involves three stages, namely preparing for the experiment, experimental design, and retrospective analysis. This research was carried out in eighth grade class in one of Junior High School in Palembang involving 34 students. PMRI is the basis for the learning context and activities in this research. Data collection includes taking student work results, interviews, and observations. The results of the research produced a learning trajectory that supports understanding the concept of circles from informal to formal form, which involves one activity of playing "gobak sodor," collecting data through observation and measurement, as well as interpreting data and observations. The results of the learning activities show that the series of activities carried out can help students understand the concept of circles.

Abstract

Several earlier research investigated the use of Jigsaw to improve the quality of the online mathematics teaching-learning process. However, few studies have used the Jigsaw approach to improve the quality of online mathematics education, particularly in terms of motivation and learning results. To address this research gap, the goal is to outline the process of integrating the Jigsaw model in online learning and to demonstrate the importance of enhancing student motivation during the learning process. This study used the classroom action research approach, which involved 36 students from a high school in Central Java Province, Indonesia. The results of this investigation indicate that the application of Jigsaw can be done online using numerous procedures indicated in this study. Furthermore, the results indicate a considerable improvement in motivation and learning outcomes. The findings of this study are expected to serve as a reference for teachers on how to implement the Jigsaw model online.

Abstract

The ability to solve problems and logical thinking of students can be grown by studying Geometry. However, the reality in the field and some research in Indonesia shows that the geometric thinking ability of junior high school students is still relatively low. This study aims to examine the geometric thinking ability of junior high school students according to Van Hiele Theory. This research is a qualitative study with a descriptive approach, which was conducted in one of the junior high schools in Pringsewu Regency involving 28 students of class VIII. One student was selected to represent levels 1, 2, 3, and 4 Van Hiele as the research subject. Data collection was carried out using multiple choice tests and interviews. Data analysis techniques were conducted with data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing stages. The data originality technique was carried out by triangulation, in which the researcher compared the test data with the results of student interviews. The results showed that level 1 students (28.57%) could recognize and name geometric shapes visually; level 2 students (14.28%) could study geometric shapes by observing and mentioning the properties of the shapes; level 3 students (7.14%) could make connections between various geometric shapes and detect general properties of certain geometry; level 4 students (3.57%) could distinguish and make simple conclusions about the shapes and properties of shapes. Kata kunci: berpikir geometri, level van hiele, siswa SMP.

Abstract

Abstract

Pangkalpinang is the capital of Bangka Belitung Province by occupied most Melayu people with a rich culture. There are a number of cultures Pangkalpinang public relates to context learning mathematics. However, not many of the teachers in Pangkalpinang apply culture in learning mathematics. Whereas culture can be a starting point in learning mathematics. So the aim of the research for explore local wisdom quantity mathematics language public melayu Pangkalpinang which can used starting point in learning mathematics. The research used an exploration method with an approach of ethnography sourced from a literature review, field observation, and interviews with elders or the public who live in the area research place. Analysis of data through reduction data, presentation data, and concluding. The stages of research with a beginning observation about the context of public culture who made starting point learning. The next is the research theme which explores the language culture melayu Pangkalpinang public with related ethnomathematics, the next determine data source, data collection, analysis data, and drafting report and reflection. The result of the research shows that there is a quantity of language mathematics used by the Pangkalpinag public, and that matter can become a starting point in learning mathematics. Quantity language covers units, tens, twenties, hundreds, thousands, tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands, and millions, and also produces fractional numbers and indefinite numbers.
