Abstract

The development of information and communication technology in the 21st century spurs the need for digital learning systems to improve the quality of education. This research aims to develop a Learning Management System (LMS) Moodle with additional features that support mathematics learning at the high school level. The research method used in this research is the research and development (R&D) method, with the model used being the Four-D Model or adapted into a 4-D model. Based on the research results, the features developed include typing mathematical formulas using MathType by Wiris, graph visualization, and GeoGebra-based simulations. The results of the trial show that this additional feature increases the effectiveness of mathematics learning and the efficiency of students' learning time. Developing an LMS with interactive features supports a more dynamic and meaningful learning process.

Abstract

Whether synchronous or asynchronous, online learning utilizes various digital tools that significantly differentiate it from conventional offline learning. One critical factor influencing students' success in this environment is self-efficacy, which reflects their belief in their ability to perform learning tasks effectively. Despite increasing research on online learning self-efficacy, a comprehensive overview of its development and trends is needed. This study aims to analyze the research landscape related to online learning self-efficacy over the last five years, identifying key contributors, collaboration networks, and thematic research focuses. This study employs descriptive bibliometric analysis to systematically examine the growth, distribution, and impact of research in this field. Data was collected from major academic databases, focusing on publications between 2018 and 2023. Key parameters analyzed include publication trends, country-wise research output, institutional contributions, collaboration networks, keyword co-occurrence, and citation impact. Findings indicate a growing interest in online learning self-efficacy studies, particularly between 2018 and 2021. The United Kingdom leads in publications, while United States researchers engage in the most international collaborations. The Hong Kong Polytechnic University emerges as the top institution in this field. Most studies appear in education and technology journals, with commonly associated keywords including motivation, e-learning, self-concept, and self-regulated learning. Quantitative research dominates, as 84 of the 100 most-cited publications employ quantitative methodologies, with students as the most frequently studied sample group. These findings provide insights into scholarly trends, highlighting key contributors and research directions for future studies.

Abstract

The use of electronic modules in the implementation of Independent Learning Independent Campus (MBKM) in higher education has proven to be effective in improving the quality of learning and student learning outcomes. Research shows that electronic modules, such as those based on Project Based Learning (PjBL), hypercontent, and e-pub, provide flexible interactivity and support independent and collaborative learning. The study reveals the development of entrepreneurship modules in the ISI Yogyakarta Music Education Study Program, which has been highly successful. The module has been validated with a high score of 93, meeting the standards of practitioners, academics, and communication experts. It has also improved students' knowledge and motivation in the creative industry. The module's structure and content make learning more straightforward, and students have provided positive feedback. It is also relevant to the graduate profiles of the program, including art managers, consultants, and music educators. This study highlights the importance of entrepreneurship modules in meeting students' academic needs and empowering them in the business world. This module also helps students master difficult concepts, increase their interest and practical skills, and motivate them to face work challenges. In response to MBKM, the electronic module allows students to learn flexibly, be relevant to the real world, and develop 21st-century skills. Therefore, the development more interactive modules and technology-based applications needs to be improved, and lecturers and students must be trained to utilize this technology. Collaboration with industry and educational technology developers is also important to create modules that suit the needs of the world of work. Continuous evaluation and innovation are needed so that the module remains relevant to technological developments and future educational demands.

Abstract

This study analyzes literature on halal transportation and occupational health and safety (OHS) using a bibliometric approach. A bibliometric analysis was chosen because it systematically maps research trends, identifies key contributors, and highlights thematic linkages, providing a comprehensive overview of the field. Halal transportation integrates Islamic principles into transportation operations, while OHS ensures the health and safety of workers and users. The study retrieves data from Google Scholar, Dimensions, and ScienceDirect using Publish or Perish and VOSviewer to evaluate trends, geographical distribution, and topic linkages. The results indicate that halal transportation research primarily focuses on halal logistics, whereas studies on the operational aspects of non-food goods transportation remain limited. Research on OHS within halal transportation is also scarce, particularly in integrating halal standards with OHS regulations. Malaysia and Indonesia have been the main contributors to this field, with an increasing publication trend since 2010. The main research clusters include "halal logistics," "occupational health and safety," and "sustainability.". This study emphasizes the importance of developing operational standards for halal transportation that incorporate process halalness, worker health and safety, and resource efficiency. It recommends using modern technology, such as IoT, to enhance halal tracking and risk mitigation. By bridging the gap between halal transportation and OHS, this research provides valuable insights for policymakers, industry practitioners, and academics to develop more comprehensive and effective standards. The findings serve as a foundation for future studies on the intersection of transportation operations and OHS.

Abstract

Mathematical problem-solving is a critical skill, particularly for students with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), whose abilities in this area are influenced by emotional intelligence. This study aims to analyze the mathematical problem-solving skills of ADHD students with their emotional intelligence levels. A qualitative case study approach was applied, involving three ADHD students with varying levels of emotional intelligence—high, moderate, and low. The results revealed that students with high and moderate emotional intelligence could meet all key indicators of mathematical problem-solving, including understanding the problem, planning solutions, implementing strategies, and evaluating results. However, students with moderate emotional intelligence exhibited less structured strategies and checking procedures. In contrast, ADHD students with low emotional intelligence struggled at all stages, particularly in understanding the problem and planning solutions, and were unable to perform double-checking. These findings highlight the significant role of emotional intelligence in enhancing mathematical problem-solving abilities in ADHD students. The higher the emotional intelligence, the better the students can solve mathematical problems. These results emphasize the need for tailored educational strategies integrating emotional intelligence development to support ADHD students' academic success.

Abstract

English language performance at higher education level is very important. To improve the learning performance of undergraduates, it is essential to identify the associated factors that could contribute to this enhancement. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the triple dimensions, including personality, academic performance, and family relations of the undergraduates, as well as the association between these dimensions. The study used a quantitative correlational research design involving 100 samples. The data on the triple aspects was gathered through standardized questionnaires. Descriptive and inferential statistics such as Mean, Standard Deviation, Pearson Correlation Coefficient, and P-value were adopted for data analysis. The study found that the overall mean score for personality was 3.26, indicating slightly above the medium level, and the mean score for academic performance was 2.30, indicating below the medium level. The mean score for family ties was 3.99, which indicates that the family is above the medium level. In addition, the research found that the undergraduate’s academic performance and personalities were statistically and positively associated with their family relations with (r = 0.378, p = 0.000) and (r = 0.362, p = 0.000) accordingly. The findings suggested the importance of fostering positive family relations, enabling undergraduates to develop positive personalities and improve academic performance. Future studies can be conducted using bigger sample sizes.

Abstract

This study aims to enhance the ability of Madrasah Aliyah mathematics teachers to develop Higher-Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) questions through training and mentoring. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study design involving 20 mathematics teachers. Data were collected through questionnaires, observations, and document analysis, then analyzed using thematic and descriptive statistics. The findings indicate that teachers' understanding of HOTS principles, reasoning levels, and question formulation steps after participating in the training significantly improved, with an average increase of 55–70% across key indicators. However, some teachers still struggled to integrate real-world contexts into the HOTS questions they developed. These findings highlight the importance of continuous professional development programs to strengthen teachers' competency in designing HOTS-based assessments. Further research is needed to explore the long-term impact of this training on student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine student teachers’ and teacher educators’ perceptions of an effective English teacher in terms of content, pedagogical, and personal knowledge in the English study program at Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI). To achieve this objective, this study was designed as a mixed-methods study. To achieve this objective, this study was designed using a mixed method to look for the perceptions of 82 student teachers and 10 teacher educators. Data were collected through a 36-item Likert-type questionnaire and follow-up interviews. The results indicate that both groups agree that combining all the components is important for an effective teacher. Comparing both groups’ perceptions, the results showed a statistically significant difference (p ≤ 0.05) for 11 out of 36 items. It was found that student teachers place higher importance on some effective attributes than teacher educators do and vice versa. Additionally, the study found that pedagogical and personal knowledge was equally, if not more, important than content knowledge in defining an effective English teacher. This study highlights the significance of balancing content, pedagogical, and personal knowledge in teacher effectiveness, particularly in the EFL context of Indonesia, and discusses its pedagogical implications and limitations. This study was small due to a lack of participants. Future research should include more participants for comparison.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the numeracy literacy level of 8th-grade students at SMP Negeri 9 Sumedang, considering the ongoing challenges in students' ability to interpret, analyze, and solve statistical problems. Many students struggle with numeracy literacy, affecting their ability to make data-driven decisions, which influences their academic achievement, financial literacy, and future employability. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method involving 31 eighth-grade students selected through purposive sampling. Data collection includes students’ numeracy literacy test results on statistical material, interviews, and document analysis. Data analysis follows three stages: data reduction, presentation, and verification. The results indicate that students’ numeracy literacy remains low, with an average test score of 29.3, and only 16% meet the minimum competency level in statistical reasoning. Interviews with two representative students revealed significant difficulties in understanding statistical concepts, particularly in interpreting data from tables and graphs, identifying relevant information for problem-solving, and applying appropriate mathematical strategies. Additionally, students struggled with structuring solutions systematically and drawing meaningful conclusions from statistical data. The primary factors contributing to this low performance include (1) students’ reluctance to engage with lengthy word problems, (2) lack of understanding of prerequisite materials, and (3) difficulties in determining problem-solving strategies. These findings highlight the need for improved instructional strategies to enhance students' statistical reasoning and numeracy literacy. Future research should explore intervention programs that strengthen students’ ability to interpret and apply statistical data in real-world contexts. These findings can help educators design more effective teaching strategies and assist policymakers in developing numeracy-focused curricula that better prepare students for future challenges.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze student satisfaction with instructors' performance in Electrochemical Analysis Practice at AKA Bogor Polytechnic. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey method. Data was collected through a questionnaire based on the Likert scale, which was distributed to 23 students who had completed the course. Data analysis is carried out descriptively with frequency and percentage calculations, then converted into qualitative information. The study results showed that the overall level of student satisfaction was in the "good" category, with an average of 72.24%. The aspect of professionalism obtained the highest score (73.62%), while the aspect of practice implementation had the lowest score (69.56%). These results show that even though students are satisfied, there is room for improvement, especially in implementing practice. The main recommendations are developing technology-based teaching materials, improving laboratory equipment, and providing more comprehensive practical tutorials. This finding is expected to improve the quality of electrochemistry practicum learning.
