Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out the method of interpreting the book of Tafsir At-Tanwir, how to interpret the verses about philanthropy in Tafsir At-Tanwir, and the contextualization of philanthropic verses with social welfare. This study used the library research method with a descriptive-analytical approach. The author uses the thematic method to reveal the contents of the Al-Quran more comprehensively. The results of the study show that Tafsir At-Tanwir combines the tahlili and mawdu'i methods simultaneously (tahlili cum-thematic). The interpretation of philanthropic verses in Tafsir At-Tanwir tries to awaken the spirit of Islamic philanthropy which is built through the spirit of the Al-Quran. Philanthropy is a manifestation of the concept of charity theology with the spirit of al-Mauninitiated by KH Ahmad Dahlan, namely worship is not only of mechanical-ritualist-individualist value but of practical action that also has universal value within a frame of social piety. Islamic philanthropy has enormous potential in realizing social welfare. The actualization of teachings on philanthropy can help improve the lives of people in need and reduce social inequality.

The type of research that the author uses is (Library Research) which is qualitative in nature which originates from the Koran, commentary books and books related to the studies that the author examines. The results of this study indicate that the similarities between the Qur'an and its Tafsir and Mafatih al-Ghaib in interpreting Qs al-Isra verse 50, Qs al-Kahf verse 96, Qs al-Hajj verse 21, Qs Saba verse 10 and Qs al-Hadid verse 25 are both explain the utilization of iron. Meanwhile, the difference is found in Qs al-Hadid verse 25, Qs al-Kahf verse 96 and Qs Saba verse 10. According to the Qur'an and its interpretation, iron is one of the elements that functions to transport acids from the lungs to all body tissues, known as iron. Meanwhile, ar-Razi interprets Qs al-Hadid verse 25 that iron is a weapon that can uphold justice and become a sanction for those who violate Islamic law. Then ar-Razi interprets Qs al-Kahf verse 96 that it is a miracle given by Allah to Zulkarnain and finally in Qs Saba verse 10 ar-Razi explains that the iron has been heated with a very hot hell fire.

Abstract

A study that discusses the characteristics of a hard heart from Hamka's point of view contained in Tafsir al-Azhar as a response to the rampant phenomenon of moral violations that have been generalized by many of the general public. The cause of moral violations is caused by the broken character of society due to several factors including family, education, environment, socio-economic status, and the main factor is the fragile condition of the heart that causes a person to have a hard heart. This research focuses not only on the general definition of a hard heart, but also on the characteristics of a hard heart. Primary and secondary data are used as data sources in the qualitative research method. The main information used comes from the Qur'an, traditions, Tafsir al-Azhar, and additional information in the form of books and various other writings related to the hard heart. The research departs from the interpretation of verses that refer to the definition of qalbun qaswah and qalbun ghaliz, which have the meaning of a hard heart. From these two words, the characteristics of a hard heart were found. In the research, it was found that in general, the main character that most dominates the formation of a hard heart is a closed heart and reluctant to accept invitations to goodness from anywhere, which causes other hard heart characters to arise. Another character of a hard heart that is related to moral violations that often occur in society is the lightness of committing repeated sins. This is stated in the interpretation of Tafsir al-Azhar Surah al-Mā'idah (5): 13.

Abstract

Muhammad bin Idris as-Syafi'I said "Arabic has a rich vocabulary that allows mutaradif (synonyms), especially the vocabulary of the Qur'an. Al-Sibawayh said that there are the synonyms in the Qur'an, that dialogue between Arabian and others so many diversity of Arabic vocabulary. The argument is that one Qur'anic memorization does not contain the wisdom of another memorization, while Allah uses different terms for each memorization even though they explicitly have the same meaning. The problem of this research is Abu Hilal Askari said that the synonyms in the Qur'an there are different fundamentals, Also Ar-Raghib al-Asfahani said the difference between synonyms and means are implicit. The aim of this study is to analyze the implicit meaning between the words al-Ins and Basyar from the perspective of ar-Ragihb al-Ashfahani as an indicator that the mutaradif in question is found in the Qur'an so as to display the wisdom of the Qur'an. The methods of this research are qualitative method, using Library Research and inductive approach method. The results of this research are to find the explanation that ar-Raghib al-Asfahani uses the power of Siyaq Lughawi (textual explanation) in interpreting the verses, and placing the means of verses in order of language indicators. The theory of siyaq lughowi is used to analyze Ar-Ragihb al-Ashfahani's tafseer, the word of al-ins that refers to QS. al-Furqon: 49, an-Nisa: 6, and an-Nuur: 27 as the main meaning of interpretation. That verses has implicit means of inner human's characteristics: forgetfulness, calm, obey of command, and social creatures. But to explain the word of Basyar refers to QS. al-Furqon: 54, Shad: 71, al-Mudatsir: 25, al-Qomar: 24, Yasin: 15, al-Mu'minun: 47, al-Kahf: 110, al-An'aam: 50, ali-'Imran: 47, Maryam: 17, and Yusuf: 31. That verses has implicit of physically characteristic of humans: anatomy, biology, and human materials (skin, blood and etc).

Abstract

This article discusses the community's receptivity to the Qur'an based on ethnographic studies in the Commemoration of Nuzul al-Qur'an which was held at the Khoirunnisa' Mosque and Majlis Taklim, Gondang Village, Wonopringgo District, Pekalongan Regency. The people in the area are very heterogeneous and consist of five ideologies namely Nahdlatul Ulama, Muhammadiyah, Rifa'iyah, and Nationalist. The commemoration of Nuzul al-Qur'an in the last 10 days of the month of Ramadan begins with the khataman of the Qur'an, general recitation, then the recitation of four important chapters in the Qur'an, namely Surat Yasin, Surat al-Rahman, Surat al-Waqi'ah, and Surat al-Mulk. The four surahs are believed by the community to be able to maintain security, order, integrity, unity, unity and the community to get ease of life in various ways. This series of commemoration of Nuzul al-Qur'an has been carried out from generation to generation with great enthusiasm and reverence by the community. Even though the heterogeneity of society is very high, the Commemoration of Nuzul al-Qur'an is able to become a symbol of the unifying identity of Muslim communities that bridges the diversity of societal ideologies.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the lack of studies on the methodological configuration of al-Fatihah's interpretation in Tarjuman al-Mustafid. Therefore, researchers are interested in conducting this study further. This type of research is library research using the primary data source of the interpretation of Tarjuman al-Mustafid by Abd Ar-Rauf As-Singkili which is focused on the interpretation of al-Fatihah. The method used is a descriptive-analytical method. The conclusion of this article explains that: First, the Systematic Interpretation of As-Singkili is explaining the Makkiyah or Madaniyah letter, explaining the benefits of the letter and its asbab an-nuzul, writing the text of the verse without translation, and then doing the interpretation. Second, the source of interpretation uses munasabah, hadith, and scholars' arguments (quotations from other interpretations). Third, the principles of interpretation are 1) the Principles of Letter Description; 2) The Qiraat Accentuation Principle; 3) the Principles of Global-Parochial Interpretation; and 4) the Principles of Textual Interpretation. Fourth, the Caustive-Axiological interpretation carried out by As-Singkili in interpreting al-Fatihah emphasizes the socio-cultural aspect and minimizes differences of opinion in reading (qiraat) on the verse malikiyaumiddin.

Abstract

This study aims to trace the influence of hermeneutics in the theory of double movement. This theory is a new interpretive methodology initiated by Fazlurrahman in response to modernization. In addition, dissatisfaction with the methodology of classical scholarly exegesis is also the reason for this idea. After tracing this theory, it is found that there are several hermeneutic schools behind this theory. Therefore, in the implementation of the double movement theory, controversial legal products are often produced considering that in hermeneutics there is no definite law. While in Islam there are rules that are definite and cannot change the law. With this critical analysis-style research, it is hoped that we can understand and assess the effectiveness of the double movement theory in the treasures of contemporary interpretation.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find meanings that are in accordance with the context of meaning at the time when the Qur'an was revealed and take the main message (significance) contained in the meaning to be contextualized in the present with appropriate meaning. Through the existing problem the word haram is often interpreted as a word prohibition, this understanding starts from the meaning of haram in the translation of the Qur'an itself but in fact the word haram itself has another meaning when presented in a textually different letter metamorphose. This research will be presented through Roland Barthes' linguistic semiotics research method by examining the word haram through a Semiotics approach. This analysis will be through the search for the meaning of Connotation and Denotation which explains the disclosure of myths behind a sign or writing. The results of this study produced an analysis of new meanings related to the word haram. This haram word algorithm changes its nature depending on the text and context of the verse. Not when haram is said to be a prohibition, but in this myth it turns out to have other meanings such as haram is an antonym of the word halal which means halal is in its place, while haram is not a prohibition but not in its place or limitation.

Abstract

Human life is not without problems. When problems arise, humans tend to feel anxiety, stress, or even other illnesses that often result in confusion about what is the right solution to solve the problem. even though Allah SWT, in the Al-Qur'an has included many verses that provide solutions for all kinds of anxiety. One example of life anxiety is the quarter life crisis or a quarter century crisis. who feel worried about the future, have no clear direction, confused and distraught about the uncertainty. Usually this anxiety includes relationships, romantic relationships, careers, and social life. Based on this phenomenon mentioned, the author tries to further examine the Qur'an's solutions to the quarter life crisis phase. The method used to analyze the Al-Qur'an's solution to future anxiety uses thematic study of the Qur'an or commonly called maudhu'i. namely finding and collecting verses that contain anxiety and verses that provide solutions to anxiety in the Qur'an. The result of the research is that anxiety is not specifically discussed in the Qur'an, but reflects a broad implied value including its meaning. 1. Khauf, namely the state of the heart, there is no peace about something in the future 2.diiq namely the narrowness of the soul, triggered by doubts originating in the heart, 3.Halu’a namely the nature of complaining, and 4.huzn that is sad. Then the solutions in the Qur'an to avoid anxiety include: Striving hard to look at the future, Continuously trying to follow Allah's instructions, Istiqomah in goodness, Sincere, Reaching for the future with faith, piety and good deeds.

Abstract

The early tradition of reading Surah al-Isra by the Prophet. done at night which is read in its entirety before the Prophet Saw sleep. This is different from the phenomenon that occurs at the Hidayatul Islamiyah Islamic Boarding School, where they only practice four verses from Surah al-Isra, namely verses 79-82 which are read during duha. Based on this phenomenon, the researcher examines the practice, understanding of teachers and students and the meaning of these readings. This research is a qualitative research with a field study approach. Data was collected through observation techniques, interviews and documentation. The results showed that reading Surah al-Isra verses 79-82 was carried out in congregation after the Duha prayer followed by recitation of remembrance and other prayers. The teacher's understanding of the four verses is in line with the exegetes' interpretation, but not perfect. While the students' understanding of the contents of the verse can be grouped into two, namely understanding based on the translation of the pronunciation only, and understanding of the interpretation of the verse in general. Their understanding is also in line with the interpretation of the interpreter and the understanding of the teacher. As for the meaning of the practice of reciting Surah al-Isra verses 79-82, they include giving peace and self-submission to Allah Swt, ease in studying knowledge, smooth sustenance and closeness to Allah Swt and departure in worship.
