Abstract

Purpose: MotoGP is one of the most popular motorcycle racing events in terms of sport and recreation around the world. To get to the MotoGP venue we have to go through several routes. This route problem can disrupt visitor mobility, make them uncomfortable, and even damage the reputation of the international event. This study aims to develop a system for determining the shortest route for shuttle buses at the Mandalika Circuit by utilizing the Dijkstra algorithm. Method: To determine the shortest route we use an algorithm, one of which is the Dijkstra algorithm. The Dijkstra algorithm is one of the most well-known algorithms for finding the shortest route on a graph network. It can efficiently find the path with the minimum weight from one vertex to another. Result: The results of this study using the manual method with the contribution of the Dijkstra algorithm both produced 5 shortest routes with 2 routes in the green zone, 2 routes in the blue zone and 1 route in the red zone. Contribution: Through this analysis, a solution can be formulated for the shuttle bus route at the Mandalika Circuit in order to support sustainable MotoGP motorcycle racing tourism.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to analyze the financial feasibility of Jadu't Coffee by transforming qualitative data from the owner, such as initial capital, purchasing patterns, and sales estimates, into financial calculations that include initial investment, COGS, cash flow, BEP, PP, ROI, ARR, NPV, IRR, and PI. Method: This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach through interviews, observations, and operational and financial analysis to transform the narrative data of business owners into measurable financial components. Result: The results of the study show that Jadu't Coffee is feasible based on financial indicators, with efficient initial investment, low COGS, positive cash flow, realistic BEP, and NPV, IRR, and PI values that meet investment feasibility criteria. These findings not only provide a basis for decision-making for business owners, but also have practical implications in the form of increased financial literacy, business planning skills, and greater access to financing. More broadly, this mentoring model can be replicated in MSME capacity building programs in Indonesia. Contribution: This study shows that MSME narrative data can be processed into measurable financial feasibility analyses as a basis for business decision-making. In addition to improving the financial literacy and planning of owners, this study also offers an applicable and replicable mentoring model for strengthening and sustaining MSMEs in Indonesia.

Abstract

The rapid growth of the tourism sector in Central Lombok Regency has not been fully matched by optimal local labor absorption, due to constraints on human resource (HR) competency. This study aims to examine the effect of hospitality training and hospitality skills on labor absorption, with HR quality serving as a mediating variable. Using an explanatory quantitative approach, the study sample comprised hospitality workers in Central Lombok Regency, selected via stratified random sampling. Data analysis was conducted using Structural Equation Modeling - Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The results indicate that hospitality skills have a positive and significant effect on HR quality and labor absorption. However, it was found that hospitality training does not have a significant direct effect on labor absorption. This finding confirms the existence of skill-based recruitment in the local hospitality industry, which prioritizes practical, ready-to-use skills over formal training certificates. Additionally, human resource quality was found to mediate the relationship between skills and labor absorption significantly, but failed to mediate the relationship between training and labor absorption. This study recommends aligning training curricula with industry standards to enhance the local workforce's competitiveness in the Mandalika Special Economic Zone. Keywords: Hospitality Training, Hospitality Skills, Human Resource Quality, Labor Absorption, Lombok Tourism.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to analyze the implementation of sustainable tourism and to identify the perceptions of tourists, tourism business operators, and local communities in the Matahari Terbit Beach area, Sanur. Method: The research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive design to obtain an in-depth understanding of the phenomenon from the perspectives of key stakeholders. Data were collected through direct observation, semi-structured interviews, documentation, and literature review. A total of 15 informants—comprising tourists, business operators, and local community members—were selected using purposive sampling. Data analysis was conducted using an interactive model, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, supported by triangulation and member checking to ensure validity Result: The findings reveal that the implementation of sustainable tourism in the study area has not been fully optimized. Tourists generally demonstrate limited understanding of sustainability, mainly focusing on environmental aspects. Tourism business operators tend to adopt a pragmatic approach by prioritizing economic benefits. Meanwhile, local communities exhibit more complex perceptions, as they experience both the positive and negative impacts of tourism development. These differing perspectives contribute to a lack of synergy among stakeholders in supporting sustainable tourism practices. Contribution: This study highlights the critical need for stronger collaboration among stakeholders, enhanced sustainability education, and more robust regulatory frameworks. It contributes to the existing body of knowledge by demonstrating how differing stakeholder perceptions can hinder the effective implementation of sustainable tourism. The findings provide practical insights for policymakers, tourism planners, and researchers to develop more integrated and balanced strategies that align environmental, socio-cultural, and economic dimensions in destination management.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to analyze the tourism attractiveness of Kelecung Beach, evaluate the implementation of existing digital marketing practices, and develop effective digital marketing strategies to enhance tourist awareness, engagement, and visitation. Method: This study employed a qualitative descriptive-interpretative approach. Data were collected through field observations conducted over a three-month period, semi-structured interviews with 15 key informants consisting of tourism destination managers, local government representatives, tourism business operators, and visitors, as well as document analysis. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model. Strategic recommendations were formulated through SWOT analysis and mapped using the AISAS (Attention, Interest, Search, Action, Share) framework to identify priority digital marketing strategies. Result: The findings reveal that Kelecung Beach demonstrates strong attractiveness through its natural coastal landscape, tranquil atmosphere, and authentic local tourism experiences. However, digital promotion remains fragmented, with limited social media engagement, inconsistent destination branding, and inadequate online information accessibility. The AISAS analysis indicates that the "Search" and "Share" stages represent the weakest elements in the tourist decision-making process. SWOT analysis further highlights opportunities for digital expansion through content marketing, destination storytelling, influencer partnerships, and integrated social media management. Priority strategies include strengthening destination branding, optimizing official digital platforms, and encouraging user-generated content to improve online visibility and visitor engagement. Contribution: This study contributes to tourism marketing literature by integrating SWOT and AISAS analyses to formulate digital marketing strategies for emerging coastal tourism destinations. The research provides a practical framework for destination branding and digital promotion that can be adapted by similar tourism destinations in Indonesia.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to evaluate and develop environmental education–based ecotourism programs to enhance visitor satisfaction and destination sustainability. Methods: The study employed a quantitative approach involving 100 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a five-point Likert scale questionnaire and analyzed using GAP analysis, paired sample t-test, and Importance–Performance Analysis (IPA). Results: The findings indicate that Godong Ijo offers 25 tourism programs, with most attributes showing positive GAP values, suggesting that program performance has met visitor expectations. However, three attributes exhibited negative GAP values, with Fishing Competition having the lowest score (-0.12), followed by Junior Master Chef (-0.03) and Aero Glider (-0.02), indicating the need for improvement. The t-test results revealed a significant difference between the importance and performance levels of the tourism programs (p = 0.000), indicating a gap between visitor expectations and their actual experiences. The IPA results show that five attributes—Junior Master Chef, Fun with Clay, Eco-Science Robo-Art Class, Fishing Competition, and Vertical Garden—fall into the main priority quadrant, meaning they are considered highly important but their performance remains suboptimal. Contribution: This study confirms that the integration of GAP analysis and IPA is effective in identifying priorities for tourism program development in a more targeted manner. The findings are expected to serve as a basis for formulating more adaptive, sustainable, and experience-oriented ecotourism management strategies.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to identify tourists' characteristics and analyze their preferences toward alternative accommodation in North Kuta, Badung, Bali, where the rapid growth of villas, homestays, and guest houses has intensified competition within the accommodation sector. Method: This study adopted a descriptive quantitative approach supported by qualitative interviews. Data were collected from 122 questionnaire respondents and eight interview informants using purposive sampling. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, while qualitative data were analyzed thematically to support the interpretation of the findings. Results: The findings indicate that users of alternative accommodation are predominantly domestic tourists, belong to productive age groups, possess relatively high educational backgrounds, and are mainly employed as private employees or entrepreneurs. Villas are the most preferred accommodation type. Tourists prioritize functional accommodation attributes, particularly comfort, tranquility, privacy, and accessibility, whereas price, facilities, and location serve as supporting considerations. Unique and authentic experiences function as complementary values that enhance the accommodation experience rather than the primary basis for accommodation choice. Contribution: This study contributes to the tourist behavior literature by demonstrating that accommodation preferences are shaped by the interaction between tourist characteristics and benefit-seeking behavior. The findings extend behavioral segmentation theory by showing that tourists prioritize functional accommodation attributes before experiential values when selecting alternative accommodation. The results also provide practical insights for accommodation providers and destination managers in developing accommodation products and marketing strategies that better respond to tourists' preferences.

Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to examine Gebyuran Bustaman in the context of religious tradition prior to Ramadan, with a focus on its transformation into an annual cultural tourism event in Semarang. Method: The present study employs a qualitative approach, which is to be achieved by means of the following: observation, interviews with youth organisers, and media documentation analysis (news portals, government social media, local websites). Result: The findings of the Gebyuran Bustaman ceremony have successfully preserved its sacred values amid efforts to promote tourism as part of the Semarang Event Calendar. This sacredness is continually upheld through a series of community ritual practices, such as grave visits, collective prayers for the departed, and the use of well water where Kyai Bustam purified himself at the climax of the event. Additionally, there are moral guidelines for participating tourists to avoid getting angry when hit by splashed water. This has led to varied framing in mass media coverage, shaping public perception within the spectrum between ritual and tourism. Contribution: This study makes a significant contribution to the existing literature on cultural tourism by shedding light on the manner in which intangible cultural heritage is preserved and promoted through community participation and media representation.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to analyze tourism communication in the Njuah-Njuah Festival as a process of cultural representation that contributes to the identity construction of the Pakpak Tribe and supports nation branding of Dairi Regency through destination image development. Method: This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation involving local government officials, Member of the Festival Organizing Committee, traditional leaders, tourists and Local SME Owner/Business Practitioner. Data analysis was conducted using thematic analysis, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was ensured through source triangulation. Result: The findings show that the Njuah-Njuah Festival functions as a symbolic communication medium in which cultural narratives, symbols, rituals, and performances convey collective meanings, ancestral values, and local identity. The festival serves as a communicative space where cultural messages are encoded and performed through verbal and nonverbal interactions. From a Community Based Tourism perspective, local communities act as key actors in the communication and preservation of cultural values. However, tourism communication strategies are still not optimal, particularly in the utilization of digital media and the packaging of cultural narratives. Contribution: This study highlights that cultural festivals are not only tourism attractions but also communication processes that shape authenticity, identity, and destination branding. The findings imply the importance of strengthening cultural policy, enhancing digital storytelling strategies, and improving cross-sector collaboration to support sustainable and competitive cultural tourism development

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to analyze how the transformation of the functions of Jago Temple, Sumberawan Temple, Brahu Temple, and Gentong Temple as tourist destinations affects the spiritual experience of tourists when doing activities in these temples. Method: This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. Data was collected through observation, documentation, and in-depth interviews with 6 informants who had visited one of the research sites and carried out spiritual activities during the visit. Data analysis is carried out through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawn, while data validity is maintained through triangulation of sources and methods. Result: The transformation of the temple's function results in a hybrid space that combines sacred and touristic values. Tourism activities such as photography and recreation show the commodification of culture, but they do not completely eliminate spiritual value. Tourists' spiritual experiences are diverse and subjective, such as a sense of calm, self-reflection, and contemplation without formal rituals. Environmental factors such as density and noise affect the quality of the experience. Contribution: This research shows that the transformation of the function of the temple does not eliminate the sacred, but rather transforms it into a more personal and contextual form of spirituality. The result also explains that the spirituality of tourists can still be formed through reflective experiences even though the temple space has undergone commercialization and increased tourist activities.
