Abstract

This research aims to develop a Student Activity Sheet (SAS) based on picture word cards media on syllable material for 1-C grade students at SDN 006 Tarakan. Based on initial observations, it was found that students experienced boredom during the learning process, and many of them were not yet familiar with letters and were not fluent in reading. This is due to the lack of variation in the learning media used. Therefore, this research uses the Research and Development (RD) method with the ADDIE model, which consists of five stages: Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate. The research results show that the developing student worksheets has good feasibility based on validation from media experts, material experts, and education practitioners. In addition, students' responses to this developing student worksheets were also positive, indicating that this media is engaging and can enhance students' interest in learning. By using illustrated word cards, it is hoped that students can be more active and engaged in learning, as well as more easily understand syllable material. This research is expected to contribute to the development of innovative and effective learning media, as well as improve the quality of learning in the first grade of elementary school.

Abstract

Komik mempunyai peran yang positif untuk mengembangkan kebiasaan membaca siswa. Temuan di SDN 013 Tarakan mengungkapkan guru hanya menggunakan lembar kerja siswa (LKS) atau buku paket untuk membaca. Kurangnya media membaca di sekolah membuat siswa kurang tertarik dalam kegiatan membaca khususnya pada materi fotosintesis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan produk media komik yang layak untuk dibaca dan melihat respon siswa terhadap komik yang dikembangkan. Adapun jenis penelitian yang digunakan yaitu penelitian dan pengembangan atau Research and Development (RD) dengan menggunakan model ADDIE yang terdiri dari 5 tahapan yaitu Analisis (Analisis), Desain (Desain), Pengembangan (Pengembangan), Implementasi (Implementasi) dan Evaluasi (Evaluasi). Hasil validasi yang dilakukan kepada ahli desain dan ahli bahasa diperoleh nilai presentase sebesar 80% dengan kategori layak. Sedangkan hasil validasi ahli materi dan ahli praktisi diperoleh nilai presentase sebesar 91,4 %, 96 % dengan kategori sangat layak. Berdasarkan hasil validasi media tersebut, komik yang dikembangkan layak digunakan untuk membaca siswa. Adapun hasil angket respon siswa terhadap media komik yang dikembangkan menunjukkan kategori menarik dengan nilai presentase pada uji coba terbatas sebesar 80,5 % sedangkan untuk uji coba penuh diperoleh nilai presentase sebesar 83,6 %. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, media komik yang dikembangkan menarik dan membuat kegiatan membaca siswa menjadi seru dan menyenangkan.

Abstract

Abstract: Problem-solving ability is one of the aspects that is highly needed by students during the mathematics learning process. Cognitive styles are divided into two, namely field independent (FI) and field dependent (FD) cognitive styles. This research was conducted with the aim of describing the mathematical problem-solving abilities of fourth-grade elementary school students based on Field Independent (FI) and Field Dependent (FD) cognitive styles. The type of research used is qualitative descriptive. The data collection techniques included the Group Embedded Figure Test (GEFT), problem-solving ability tests, and interviews. The research subjects consisted of 4 students based on the results of the cognitive style test, namely 2 students with a field-independent cognitive style, and 2 students with a field-dependent cognitive style. The research results show that there is a difference in mathematical problem-solving abilities between subjects with a field-independent cognitive style (FI) and subjects with a field-dependent cognitive style (FD). Subjects with FI cognitive style were able to meet the problem-solving ability indicators according to Polya well in each question, namely understanding the problem, planning the solution, and executing the solution plan. However, there is one indicator that has not been met by the subjects, which is the indicator of rechecking. Subjects with FD cognitive style in each question have not yet been able to meet the problem-solving ability indicators according to Polya. FD subjects have not been able to understand the problem in the question, have not been able to plan the solution, have not been able to execute the solution plan, and have not been able to check the calculation results or final results.  Abstrak: Kemampuan pemecahan masalah merupakan salah satu aspek yang sangat diperlukan oleh peserta didik selama proses pembelajaran matematika. Gaya kognitif dibagi menjadi dua yaitu gaya kognitif field independent (FI) dan field dependent (FD). Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa kelas IV Sekolah dasar berdasarkan gaya kognitif  Field Independent (FI) dan  Field Dependent (FD). Jenis penelitian yang digunakan ialah deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data berupa Tes Group Embedded Figure Test (GEFT), tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan wawancara. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 4 siswa berdasarkan hasil tes gaya kognitif, yaitu 2 siswa dengan gaya kognitif field independent, dan 2 siswa dengan gaya kognitif field dependent. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa adanya perbedaan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika antara subjek dengan gaya kognitif FI dan subjek dengan gaya kognitif  FD. Subjek dengan gaya kognitif  FI disetiap soal mampu memenuhi indikator kemampuan pemecahan masalah menurut Polya dengan baik yaitu memahami masalah, merencanakan penyelesaian, melaksanakan rencana penyelesaian, namun ada satu indikator yang belum terpenuhi oleh subjek yaitu indikator memeriksa kembali. Subjek dengan gaya kognitif FD disetiap soal belum mampu memenuhi indikator kemampuan pemecahan masalah menurut Polya subjek FD belum mampu memahami masalah pada soal, belum mampu merencanakan penyelesaian, belum mampu melaksanakan rencana penyelesaian dan tidak mampu memeriksa kembali hasil perhitungan atau hasil akhir.

Abstract

This study aims to examine how values foster the national character of elementary school students. National character education is a crucial aspect in fostering nationalism, responsibility, tolerance, and love of the homeland from an early age. This research method involves examining and analyzing various research findings, books, and library research documents. The study's findings indicate that values-based civic education can be integrated through a contextual approach, role modeling, habituation, and the use of active and participatory learning methods. Developing learning that emphasizes Pancasila values has been shown to enhance students' understanding and internalization of national character. Therefore, values-based civic education plays a strategic role in shaping a young generation with character, noble personalities, and a strong sense of national awareness.

Abstract

Students' errors in solving numeracy problems are closely related to their self-efficacy levels, which influence their confidence in understanding and solving problems. This study aims to describe students' errors in solving numeracy problems from a self-efficacy perspective. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach with students categorized based on low, medium, and high levels of self-efficacy. Data were collected through questionnaires, numeracy tests, and interviews, and analyzed using Newman's stages. The results showed that students with low self-efficacy made errors in the reading stage. Students with medium and high self-efficacy showed errors in understanding the problems, which resulted in errors in Transformation, Processing skills, and Encoding. This study emphasizes the importance of recognizing errors in solving numeracy problems to improve students' numeracy skills.

Abstract

Low student participation and lack of student initiative in learning are factors that hinder learning success. This study aims to describe the understanding of the value of mutual cooperation among 5th grade students in elementary schools. The method used is a qualitative method with a descriptive approach, which allows researchers to obtain an in-depth picture of student attitudes and behaviors related to the value of mutual cooperation. Data collection techniques were carried out through questionnaires, observations, and interviews. The research subjects numbered 28 students, and three of them were selected purposively for in-depth analysis, representing the high, medium, and low categories based on the results of the questionnaire scores. The results showed that the understanding of the value of mutual cooperation was divided into three categories, namely high (39.3%), medium (35.7%), and low (25%). A total of 75% of students showed a fairly good understanding, especially in indicators of involvement in maintaining classroom/school cleanliness, completing assignments responsibly, helping friends selflessly, and working together in groups. However, there were still 25% of students who did not show optimal understanding, especially in aspects of respecting friends' opinions and avoiding blame in group conflict situations. These findings indicate that the value of mutual cooperation has been understood by most students, but still requires reinforcement.

Abstract

The limited use of varied learning media has an impact on low student interest in learning, so that students are easily bored and less active in the learning process. This study aims to develop a local wisdom-based Student Worksheet on the material My Indonesia is Rich in Culture for 4th grade students in Elementary School. The research method used is Research and Development with a model consisting of five stages, namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation. The results of the feasibility validation showed a score of 86% from media experts (very feasible), 80% from material experts (very feasible), and 78% from language experts (feasible). The results of student responses to the attractiveness of the media in limited trials obtained a percentage of 82% (very feasible) and 98% from field trials (very feasible). Based on these results, the local wisdom-based Student Worksheet on the material My Indonesia is Rich in Culture is declared very feasible to be used in the learning process. This Student Worksheet is expected to be implemented more widely to support contextual learning according to the principles of the Independent Curriculum.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the role of teachers in instilling anti-bullying attitudes in fourth-grade students. The background of this study is based on the continued discovery of verbal and non-verbal bullying behavior in elementary school environments that impact students' comfort and psychological development. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with one class teacher as the main subject and three students as supporting subjects. Data collection techniques were carried out through moderate participatory observation, open interviews, and documentation. Data analysis used an interactive model by Miles and Huberman which includes data reduction, data presentation, as well as drawing conclusions and verification, with validity testing through technical triangulation. The results of the study indicate that teachers have three main roles in instilling anti-bullying attitudes, namely as motivators, facilitators, and mediators. As motivators, teachers provide moral advice, character building, and foster empathy through stories and real-life examples. As facilitators, teachers create a safe, comfortable, and inclusive classroom atmosphere through role models, dialogue, and the use of educational media such as "Stop Bullying" posters. As mediators, teachers mediate conflicts, provide educational sanctions, and involve parents and school officials in certain cases. Overall, the role of teachers has proven to be very important in building a learning environment that is conducive, safe, and free from bullying behavior.
