Abstract

This study is motivated by the low writing skills of students due to a teacher-centered learning approach and the lack of active student participation. The aim of this research is to describe the improvement of students' writing skills through the Think Talk Write (TTW) strategy in grade IV at SDN 10 Batu Taba, Tanah Datar Regency. This research employs the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method with qualitative and quantitative approaches conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consists of the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of the research include the researcher as a practitioner, the class teacher as an observer, and 16 grade IV students. Data collection techniques involve observation, tests, and non-tests. The results indicate an improvement in various aspects. First, the planning of teaching modules increased from 89.58% (B) in cycle I to 95.8% (SB) in cycle II. Second, the implementation of learning by the teacher improved from 91% to 96.4%, and third, student activity also increased from 91% to 96.4%, both categorized as very good. Fourth, the results of students' writing skills improved from an average of 73.96 (C) to 84.57 (B). Fifth, knowledge scores increased from 76 (C) to 91.25 (SB). Thus, the Think Talk Write strategy has proven to be effective in improving students' writing skills in grade IV.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the low reading comprehension skills of students, teacher-centered learning, and the lack of active participation and critical thinking skills in analyzing information from reading materials. Students also face difficulties in organizing ideas and clearly conveying the content of the reading. The objective of this research is to describe the improvement of reading comprehension skills through the application of the Jigsaw type of Cooperative Learning model. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research (CAR), conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The approach used is qualitative and quantitative, with the research subjects being 20 fifth-grade students at SDN 15 Batunanggai. The results indicate an improvement in various aspects. First, the evaluation of the teaching module increased from 85% in cycle I, meeting 1, to 96% in cycle II. Second, the evaluation of teacher aspects improved from 75% to 96%. Third, the evaluation of student activity increased from 82% to 92%. Fourth, the average score of reading comprehension skills increased from 74.75 to 87.73. Thus, the application of the Jigsaw type of Cooperative Learning model has proven effective in enhancing the reading comprehension skills of elementary school students.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the still low ability of students to read the Al-Qur'an, thus a program for the Religious Education Center (Taman Pendidikan Al-Qur'an, TPQ) is needed to improve these skills at SMP Negeri 18 Padang. The purpose of this research is to analyze the planning and implementation stages of the TPQ program and to identify the factors that influence its success. The method used is qualitative research with a field research approach, involving five informants selected through purposive and snowball sampling techniques. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and were subsequently analyzed systematically with reference to the stages of data collection, reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that the planning stages of the TPQ program include the determination of objectives, materials, and methods. The implementation of the program uses the Iqro' and Qiro'ati methods, which consist of initial, core, closing activities, and evaluation stages. The success factors of the program are influenced by internal factors, namely the quality of learning and students, as well as external factors including support from parents, teachers, schools, and peers. The TPQ program has proven to play an important role in improving students' abilities to read the Al-Qur'an.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the low learning outcomes of students caused by the teachers' suboptimal use of innovative learning models during the learning process. The use of conventional methods that are one-way results in a lack of student engagement. The purpose of this study is to describe the improvement of learning outcomes in Pancasila Education through the application of the learning cycle 7E model in the fourth grade at SDN 11 Campago Guguk Bulek, Bukittinggi City. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) that integrates qualitative and quantitative approaches. The research was conducted in two cycles, with Cycle I consisting of two meetings and Cycle II consisting of one meeting. Each cycle includes four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of the study are the teacher and 27 fourth-grade students, consisting of 11 male students and 16 female students. Data collection techniques include both test and non-test techniques. The results of the study show improvements in: a) The learning module in Cycle I with an average of 87.5% (qualification B: Good), increasing to 97.22% (qualification SB: Very Good) in Cycle II; b) The implementation of learning from the teacher's aspect in Cycle I with an average of 83.33% (qualification B: Good), increasing to 94.44% (qualification SB: Very Good) in Cycle II, while the implementation of learning from the students' aspect also increased from 83.33% (qualification B: Good) in Cycle I to 94.44% (qualification SB: Very Good) in Cycle II; c) Students' learning outcomes improved from an average of 76.56% (qualification C: Satisfactory) in Cycle I to 89.33% (qualification B: Good) in Cycle II. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the application of the learning cycle 7E model is effective in improving learning outcomes in Pancasila Education among students.

Abstract

The moral crisis currently afflicting society has become a serious concern in various aspects of life, including social, cultural, and spiritual dimensions. One approach believed to effectively address this crisis is through moral development based on Sufism teachings, particularly the tariqa (order). This article discusses the implementation of the Naqshbandi teachings of the Jabal Qubis Foundation in nurturing the morals of its congregants. The objective of this research is to understand how the implementation of the Naqshbandi teachings, particularly at the Naqshbandi surau (prayer house) of the Jabal Qubis Foundation, fosters the morals of congregants in Pasaman District. The method employed is qualitative, with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation. The data sources for this research were obtained from eight informants, consisting of one mursyid (spiritual guide) and seven congregants of the Naqshbandi Foundation. The results of the study indicate that: 1) The application of the tariqa teachings consists of three stages: baiat (initiation), tawajuh (spiritual focus), and suluk (spiritual journey); 2) The challenges faced by the mursyid include the presence of unseen beings within congregants who feel discontent, while challenges from the congregants arise internally, such as laziness in doing good deeds, and externally, including ridicule from family, society, friends, as well as economic factors.

Abstract

The Merdeka Curriculum is designed to improve the quality of education through a student-centered learning approach; however, in its implementation at SMK Negeri 1 Pariaman, several challenges were found that hindered the achievement of these objectives. This study aims to evaluate the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum at SMK Negeri 1 Pariaman using the CIPP evaluation model (Context, Input, Process, and Product). The method used is descriptive research with a mixed method approach, involving 52 respondents consisting of the school principal, the vice principal for curriculum, DPIB teachers, and XI DPIB students. Data collection techniques were carried out through questionnaires, interviews, observations, and documentation. The results indicate that in the category of "Fairly Good," the context aspect shows that the school has understood the goals and urgency of the Merdeka Curriculum but is not yet fully prepared in terms of resources. In the input aspect, there is a limitation in teachers' understanding of teaching materials and the concept of flexible learning. The learning process is still predominantly teacher-centered, which contradicts the principles of the Merdeka Curriculum that emphasize student activity, while in the product aspect, the learning outcomes do not fully reflect the targeted learning achievements. This study concludes that the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum at SMK Negeri 1 Pariaman still requires improvements in terms of teacher readiness, supporting facilities, and understanding of the curriculum's characteristics in order to achieve optimal results.

Abstract

This study investigates the contribution of adversity quotient to anxiety among twelfth-grade students preparing for the state university entrance examination. The preparation process for admission to state universities (PTN) frequently constitutes a substantial source of psychological pressure for students, primarily due to intense competition, restricted admission quotas, and external expectations from the surrounding environment. This research employed a quantitative methodology witha correlational design. The sample comprised 389 students in the city of Padang, selected using a simple random sampling technique. The findings of a simple linear regression analysis demonstrated a significant negative contribution of adversity quotient to anxiety, with a significance value of .000 (p < .05). Furthermore, the coefficient of determination (R²) was reported at .489, indicating that the adversityquotient variable contributes 48.9% to the anxiety experienced by students in the context of university entrance preparation. Therefore, the higher the level of adversity quotient in twelfth-grade students, the lower their level of anxiety in facing the examination.

Abstract

This study is a development research aimed at creating a website-assisted learning medium for teaching the area of quadrilaterals to fifth-grade elementary school students in the city of Bukittinggi. The development model used was ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation), involving three elementary schools as the sample. Data analysis focused on three aspects: validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the media. Validation results showed that the media was highly valid, with a content validity score of 96.87%, language aspect 84.34%, and media aspect 87.5%. Practicality tests indicated that the media was very practical, based on responses from teachers at the trial school (90.65%) and students (88.41%), with similar results observed in the other two schools—teacher practicality scores were 93.75% and 96.87%, and student scores were 94.87% and 96.15%. Effectiveness tests demonstrated improved student learning outcomes, with effectiveness percentages of 84.70% at the trial school, 90.4% at the first school, and 93.07% at the second school, all falling into the "very effective" category. Based on these results, the website-based learning media developed in this study is declared valid, practical, and effective for supporting mathematics instruction on the topic of quadrilateral area in fifth-grade elementary school classes.

Abstract

Occupational health and safety (OHS) is a critical aspect of the manufacturing industry, which is characterized by high work-related risks, as it plays a vital role in protecting employees from workplace accidents and occupational diseases. This study aims to systematically analyze the impact of OHS implementation on employee performance in the manufacturing sector. A quantitative approach was employed, with a literature review as the primary data collection strategy, conducted through the search and selection of relevant and verified scientific articles from databases such as Google Scholar, JSTOR, and ProQuest. The findings indicate that OHS implementation—which includes a safe work environment, the use of standard-compliant equipment, and adherence to safety procedures—has a significantly positive impact on employee performance. A safe workplace has been shown to enhance productivity, efficiency, and work motivation. The conclusion of this study affirms that implementing an OHS system is not only a legal obligation but also an essential strategy for developing a healthy, safe, and high-performing workforce in the manufacturing sector. These findings reinforce the position of OHS as the foundation of a productive, disciplined, and results-oriented work culture, ultimately contributing to industrial competitiveness.

Abstract

This paper discusses the impact of the digitalization of da'wah on the authority of ulama and religious scholars in conveying Islamic teachings to the public. The aim of this study is to identify the factors contributing to the decline in scholarly authority in the era of digital da'wah and to analyze its effects on public understanding of Islamic teachings. Additionally, the research seeks to formulate implementable solutions to preserve the credibility and authority of ulama amid the rise of technology-based da'wah. The method used is field research, involving the direct collection of primary and secondary data from research subjects. The findings reveal that digital da'wah presents new challenges to religious authority, where anyone can share religious views without adequate scholarly grounding, blurring the line between academic authority and personal opinion. To maintain the authority of ulama in the face of overwhelming digital information flows, strategic steps are needed, such as strengthening digital literacy among ulama, active collaboration with digital platforms, and the development of credible official da'wah channels. Additionally, government regulation, increased public religious literacy, and the use of fact-checking technology are crucial to countering the spread of inaccurate religious information. The conclusion of this study affirms that maintaining the authority of ulama in the digital era requires a synergy of scholarship, technology, and policies that are responsive to contemporary dynamics.
