Abstract

Tauhid education is the fundamental foundation in Islam that must be instilled from an early age as a life guideline and as a form of belief that only Allah is worthy of worship and that Prophet Muhammad is His messenger. This study aims to examine the concept of aqidah tauhid, methods for internalizing tauhid values in children, guidance from the Qur’an and Hadith regarding its application, and the urgency of aqidah tauhid as the core of Islamic education. The research employed a library study method by collecting, analyzing, and synthesizing various references from scholarly journals, publications, and books relevant to the topic. The findings indicate that tauhid education not only strengthens faith but also forms the moral and spiritual foundation of children, enabling them to live as obedient servants of Allah and as individuals who contribute positively to society. The internalization of tauhid values can be carried out through exemplary behavior, habituation, advice, and emotional approaches aligned with the child’s developmental stage. Tauhid-based education grounded in the Qur’an and Hadith serves as the main pillar in shaping children into pious and morally upright individuals. These findings offer valuable insights for educators and parents in optimizing the systematic and holistic inculcation of tauhid values in children's education.

Abstract

Children with special needs are individuals who differ from typical children in physical, intellectual, emotional, social, or behavioral aspects. From the perspective of Islamic educational psychology, their existence is viewed as part of Allah SWT’s divine will, to be accepted with compassion and responsibility. This study aims to examine the role of Islamic educational psychology in understanding, supporting, and developing the potential of children with special needs. The research adopts a library study method with a descriptive-qualitative approach. The findings reveal that Islamic educational psychology emphasizes spiritual values, the principle of rahmah (compassion), and an understanding of each child’s fitrah and unique potential. Islam promotes inclusivity and respect for every individual without discrimination, including in educational contexts. Therefore, the roles of educators and parents are crucial in creating a learning environment that is friendly, supportive, and empowering for children with special needs. In conclusion, Islamic educational psychology offers a strong foundation for educating children with special needs in an empathetic, patient, and dignified manner, recognizing their humanity as creations of Allah.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the foundational potentials of the human being from the perspective of Islamic psychology, encompassing ruh, nafs, qalbu, and fitrah as the core components in shaping an Islamic personality. These four elements interact to form an integrated spiritual-psychological system: ruh serves as the source of divine values, fitrah as the natural inclination toward truth, qalbu as the moral center and spiritual compass, and nafs as a dynamic entity that undergoes transformation through the process of inner purification. Employing a qualitative approach based on library research, this study formulates an integrative model that places tazkiyah al-nafs (soul purification) as the central mechanism for harmonizing these four potentials in forming the identity of ‘Abdullah—a person wholly submissive to Allah. The findings demonstrate that a systematic synergy among ruh, nafs, qalbu, and fitrah is capable of cultivating a balanced and purposeful spiritual character. This conceptual framework contributes to the development of Islamic personality models and offers practical implications for character education, counseling, and personal development grounded in Islamic values.

Abstract

This article provides a comprehensive discussion of the concept of the learning process from the perspective of Islamic educational psychology, in which learning is understood as an activity that results in relatively permanent behavioral changes through experience, practice, and interaction with the environment. These changes encompass three interrelated domains, cognitive (knowledge), affective (attitudes and values), and psychomotor (skills), which collectively shape the learner’s holistic personality. In Islam, learning is not merely an intellectual pursuit but also a spiritual activity regarded as an act of worship and a means of drawing closer to Allah SWT. This aligns with the teachings of the Qur’an and Hadith, which emphasize the obligation of seeking knowledge. Accordingly, Islamic education integrates spiritual and moral dimensions as essential components of learning objectives. Within the framework of Islamic educational psychology, the effectiveness of the learning process is influenced by key factors such as the teacher’s role as a guide, student readiness and motivation, clarity of learning objectives, relevance of content, appropriate instructional methods, supportive learning media, and a fair and objective evaluation system. These elements must be designed in an integrative manner to ensure that the learning process is effective, efficient, and meaningful in accordance with Islamic values. Thus, in Islamic education, the learning process aims not only at achieving academic excellence but also at fostering students’ character and spirituality in a holistic manner.

Abstract

This study is grounded in the significance of Ki Hajar Dewantara’s role in formulating the philosophical foundations of Indonesian education, despite the limited depth of academic exploration into the contribution and contemporary relevance of his thought. The objective of this research is to examine Ki Hajar Dewantara’s educational philosophy, particularly the principles Ing Ngarsa Sung Tulada, Ing Madya Mangun Karsa, and Tut Wuri Handayani, and to analyze their influence on the development of the national education system. Utilizing a qualitative approach, the study employs content analysis and cross-validation of primary and secondary sources, including historical documents, biographical records, and expert interpretations. The findings reveal that Ki Hajar Dewantara’s philosophy serves as a foundational pillar in the formation of character education, participatory leadership, and holistic student development. The establishment of Taman Siswa is a concrete manifestation of these ideas, significantly contributing to expanding educational access, preserving national culture, and fostering national consciousness during the colonial and post-independence periods. Nevertheless, the application of his philosophy in the modern era faces challenges in contextualizing its values within the dynamic landscape of contemporary educational policy and systems. The study concludes that Ki Hajar Dewantara’s educational thought remains highly relevant in addressing current educational challenges, particularly in promoting student-centered learning grounded in cultural values. Its implications include a theoretical contribution to the discourse on national educational philosophy and practical recommendations for educators and policymakers to align educational practices with foundational national values.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the limited development of innovative and engaging technology-based learning media, as well as the challenges teachers face in designing effective interactive tools to support the teaching and learning process. The objective of this research is to develop interactive multimedia based on Powtoon for Pendidikan Pancasila instruction in fourth-grade elementary school, and to validate its effectiveness, practicality, and content validity. The research employed the Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE development model, which includes five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The trial subjects consisted of 12 students from SDN 04 Muaro Paiti, while the main research subjects included 18 students each from SDN 02 and SDN 03 Muaro Paiti. Data were collected through validation questionnaires from content, language, and media experts, as well as practicality questionnaires from teachers and students. The results showed that the developed interactive multimedia achieved content validity of 92.5%, language validity of 87.5%, and media validity of 92.5%—all within the “highly valid” category. Practicality testing indicated scores of 95.83% from teachers and 91.59% from students, while effectiveness testing reached 87.87%, classified as “highly effective.” Therefore, the Powtoon-based interactive multimedia is deemed suitable and effective for use as a learning medium to enhance the quality of Pendidikan Pancasila instruction in fourth-grade elementary education.

Abstract

Islamic religious education plays a vital role in shaping the character, morality, and spirituality of learners, including children with special needs (CWSN), who within the framework of inclusive education have equal rights to receive religious instruction tailored to their psychological development and individual conditions. This study aims to analyze the role of educational psychology in supporting the implementation of adaptive and meaningful Islamic religious education for CWSN. A qualitative literature review method was employed to explore the integration of Islamic values and psychological approaches within the learning process. The findings indicate that individualized approaches, differentiated instruction, the use of multisensory media, and collaboration among teachers, families, and communities contribute to more inclusive religious education practices. However, significant challenges remain, including the shortage of trained educators, the lack of adaptive learning resources, and persistent social stigma, all of which require systemic and collaborative solutions. The study concludes that integrating Islamic values with the principles of educational psychology forms a critical foundation for developing a just, empathetic, and diversity-respecting model of Islamic religious education.

Abstract

Marriage in Islam is not merely a physical bond between two individuals but also an act of worship that encompasses spiritual, psychological, and social responsibilities. This article aims to examine the concept of marital readiness from the perspectives of Islamic religious education and educational psychology, emphasizing the importance of emotional and financial preparedness, as well as a clear understanding of roles and responsibilities within married life. Employing a qualitative approach through literature review, the study explores key dimensions of marital readiness, including moral, spiritual, physical, and psychological maturity, along with skills in conflict management, communication, and adaptation to household dynamics. The findings indicate that spiritual orientation serves as a critical predictor of marital harmony, while external support, such as family involvement and an Islamic environment, strengthens holistic preparedness. Contemporary challenges such as the childfree phenomenon, same-sex marriage, and cultural practices conflicting with Islamic teachings are highlighted as significant concerns in the discourse. The study concludes that the integration of Islamic values with educational psychology approaches is essential for cultivating comprehensive marital readiness and fostering families grounded in sakinah, mawaddah, and rahmah.

Abstract

The phenomenon of religious conversion is a multidimensional process involving theological, psychological, and social aspects. In the context of Islam, conversion is understood not merely as the verbal declaration of the shahada, but as a comprehensive transformation encompassing spiritual awareness, value internalization, and a committed adherence to Islamic teachings. This study aims to analyze the process of religious conversion through the lens of Islamic educational psychology, emphasizing conversion as a form of tarbiyah nafsaniyah, a transformative journey involving cognitive, affective, and psychomotor changes. Utilizing a qualitative, library-based approach, the research identifies key factors that trigger conversion, including identity crises, the search for life’s meaning, spiritual experiences, and social influences. The findings indicate that the conversion process requires empathetic and context-sensitive educational guidance, along with support from an inclusive environment to strengthen the sustainable development of Islamic identity. Islamic educational psychology plays a crucial role in guiding this transformation in a humane and holistic manner. These insights contribute both theoretically and practically to the development of value-oriented strategies for nurturing muallaf, grounded in personal experience and spiritual growth.

Abstract

The limited use of technology-based learning media in elementary schools, particularly in Grade V Pendidikan Pancasila instruction, has negatively impacted students' focus and comprehension of the material. This study aims to develop an instructional medium using the Educaplay application, employing the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The research method involved needs analysis, curriculum and content analysis, media design, validation by subject matter, language, and media experts, and implementation across three elementary schools (SDN 16, 26, and 28 Air Tawar Timur). The practicality of the media was assessed through teacher and student response questionnaires, while effectiveness was measured using N-Gain analysis from pretest and posttest results. Validation results indicated a very high level of validity—96% from content experts, 98% from language experts, and 90% from media experts. Practicality testing yielded average scores above 89%, indicating the media is highly practical. Effectiveness testing showed a significant improvement in learning outcomes, with N-Gain scores in the high category (88.88%–95.65%). These findings indicate that the Educaplay-based instructional media is valid, practical, and effective in enhancing the quality of Pendidikan Pancasila learning in Grade V elementary classrooms.
