Abstract

Atheism is often seen as a paradigm which contradicts to a religion, in which the discourse of tolerance and intolerance is not seen as compatible for it. Is it possible that the seeds of intolerance can be exposed by the atheism paradigm approach? Thus, practically-pragmatically, is it important to understand the view of atheism in order to create a tolerant awareness? This paper aims to reveal the seeds of intolerance from Ludwig Feuerbach's philosophy of atheism. With the method of qualitative and library research on his magnum opus as well as several philosophical-analytical notes from commentators, the main points of Feuerbach's ideas able to reveal the seeds of intolerance through the philosophy of consciousness, materialism and idealism, the theory of projection as well as the issue of alienation. As a result, human values can be drawn as a conclusion from Feuerbach's atheistic philosophical system. In addition, the paradigm of atheism is an important discourse to study as an effort to complete the idea of tolerance while at the same time narrowing the space for intolerance to grow and spread more widely.

Abstract

This study aimed at examining how teaching English subject matter was reviewed from perennialism theoritically. It is undeniably that education could not be separated from any philosophies that became the basic of learning and teaching situation. One of the philosophies becoming the basic of education is perennialism. Perennialism states that education tends to be religious and religion-rule oriented, focuses on old tradition and culture, and bases on the unity to find equations. This study used library research to combine all the theories from trusted sources and the data analysis used was content analysis. The findings were education, especially English subject matter in perennialism view could be done properly if there is a disipline mental, thought principality and independence by giving students chance to speak , learning to reason by helping the students to find any reason to study, studying for life preparation by doing poilteness, and learning through teaching in which the teacher becomes facilitator of the online teaching and learning process. The point of perennialism in English subject matter is being able to make the students more polite, the learning process  continues systematically, and always keep in mind the culture and custom of Indonesia.

Abstract

This research is a literature research that aims to find out the principles of ecotourism in the perspective of utilitarianism ethics. Data were collected from various literatures on ecotourism and utilitarianism ethics. Data analysis was conducted by comparing the TIES ecotourism principles and Bentham's utilitarianism ethics principles. The conclusion of this research is that ecotourism in the perspective of utilitarianism ethics is seen as something good because the main principles of ecotourism and its derivative principles are in line with the main principles of utilitarianism ethics and the criteria of goodness in the perspective of utilitarianism ethics. The 2nd principle of ecotourism (build environmental and cultural awareness, and respect), the 4th principle of ecotourism (produce direct financial benefits for conservation), and the 8th principle of ecotourism (recognize the rights and spiritual beliefs of the Indigenous People in your community and work in partnership with them to create empowerment) align with Bentham’s first criterion of utilitarianism, namely benefits. The 1st principle of ecotourism (minimize physical, social, behavioral, and psychological impacts) and the 7th principle of ecotourism (design, construct and operate low-impact facilities) align with Bentham’s second criterion of utilitarianism, namely the greatest benefit. Ecotourism’s 3rd principle (provide positive experiences for both visitors and hosts), 5th principle (Generate financial benefits for both local people and private industry), and 6th principle (Deliver memorable interpretative experiences to visitors that help raise sensitivity to host countries’ political, environmental, and social climates) align with Bentham’s third criterion of utilitarianism, which is the greatest benefit to the greatest number of people.

Abstract

This study aims to explore aspects of gender, especially masculinity which can often be found in the concept of divinity. This research is qualitative research with a literature study data collection technique that aims to compare the effect of these aspects of masculinity on two types of belief systems, namely polytheism and monotheism. This research will limit the belief system that is known in Indonesia. From the search that has been carried out on these samples, it was found that there is a correlation between the more precise description of God and the human aspect, which makes it easier to find the human aspect. This is more common in polytheistic belief systems than monotheism. The problem of masculinity will be even more complicated if there is the concept of God's incarnation in human form in the monotheistic belief system, which then leads to the increasingly strong influence of masculinity on that belief system.

Abstract

Everyone has a desire to understand God. But not a single human can show any evidence that they have seen God or heard God speak to them. After understanding the essence of God, even though they wanted to express their experience of seeking God, it was still very difficult for them to express God in words. A wise man said, don't argue about God with your mind, because God is as many as human thoughts. So this research aims to provide a way of understanding God in a wise way according to the essence of studying philosophy. This research is a qualitative research that uses descriptive analysis method with library research techniques, and a Hindu divinity philosophy approach, namely the search for God by speculating radical philosophical thoughts according to Vedānta. The philosophy of God in this study refers to the Upanișad literature. As an effort to understand God which is the essence of the highest reality through reason. God is understood through formal objects and material objects of philosophy, which are formulated through logical arguments in the Upanișads. The final result in the search for divinity within oneself is attaining Self-Realization while living in the world (Jivanmukti). It is also said to be the eternal bliss that results from meeting God in the mind. Enjoying the peace of God created by thought is the result of practice. Discussion of God in philosophy will never judge other people's thought processes in understanding God, because everyone will meet God according to their own thoughts and thought processes. That is the correct way of seeking God based on the Philosophy of God.

Abstract

The mind is the distinguishing element that makes humans called rational beings. But in reality, an uncontrolled mind can also bring big problems to human life. This is what led Richard Bandler to create the theory of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) to help humans control their minds. The same thing is also provided by the concept of Manacika Parisudha, as a guideline for mind control teachings from the Hindu perspective. On this basis, researchers are interested in studying both by using NLP theory as an analysis knife in the concept of Manacika Parisudha. By using the philosophical hermeneutic method, and through the Miles and Huberman interactive analysis pattern, the results of this study show that: 1). NLP theory by Richard Bandler as a theory, method, technique, or science that discusses the human mind, the language used, and human behavior as a rational individual in an effort to meet needs.  2). The concept of Manacika Parisudha is a concept of good, holy, and right thinking according to Hinduism. 3). In terms of analysis, there are some similarities between the NLP theory and the concept of Manacika Parisudha in terms of mind control.

Abstract

This paper talks about the awareness of "I" and "Other" in law enforcement cases of corruption in Indonesia. This paper aims to analyze how awareness of "I" and "Other" in cases of law enforcement on corruption in Indonesia is considered to be fading which has an impact on attitudes of justice for both subjects. Corruption is a criminal act carried out by a handful or a group of people to enrich themselves by utilizing the means they have, such as position and power. The method used in this paper is qualitative research by means of a literature study sourced from the Relationality book coupled with the literature that supports the discussion of this paper. The results found in this paper are that law enforcement on corruption in Indonesia is considered weak and powerless. This is because human resources are not aware of the true meaning of "I-ness" so it makes other people or "Others" suffer. Lack of understanding about awareness of "I", in cases of law enforcement on corruption in Indonesia is the main reason why "Others" get discriminated against and injustice in their lives.

Abstract

Moderation in religion is often seen as an attitude of not having solid principles in carrying out religious norms, resulting in extreme and liberal traits because they do not understand the concept of balance in religion. So this article aims to find out the nature and reality of moderation in religion so as not to lead to deviant traits. The method in this study leads to qualitative literature. The Indonesian Ministry of Religion and al-Azhar Egypt are two institutions that are keen to spread this understanding, so the efforts made by these two agencies have different concepts and values from one another but with the same goal of grounding moderation in Islam.
