Abstract

Information systems. The advancing information technology also influences a person's lifestyle. One's lifestyle on social media and in the real world, as well as the social environment, play a significant role in shaping one's identity. This is also true for teenagers in Ponorogo. A positive social environment will create a positive personality, and vice versa. Peer influence, including friends and playmates, also shapes an individual's lifestyle. This is not much different from what happens to teenagers in SMA Negeri 2 Ponorogo. Social interaction factors can be a motive for teenagers to create a certain image of themselves. Some teenagers are even willing to change their original self-image on social media to be accepted within a friendship circle, using both first and second accounts. Therefore, this research needs to be conducted to understand the role of first and second accounts in strengthening teenagers' self-identity through personal branding built in the digital world. The research methods used in this study are qualitative and quantitative. Data is collected through questionnaires and explored further through interviews. The research findings show that teenagers from SMA Negeri 2 Ponorogo have two categorizations in their use of social media. Firstly, the first account is used as a means to build personal branding, taking into consideration others' perception and expression. Secondly, the second account is utilized to build a free personal branding that influences teenagers' self-identity in the digital world.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the dynamics of ugamo malim adherents in fighting civil rights. The research used qualitative methods through observation, documentation, and in-depth interviews with ugamo malim figures to understand the facts that exist in society. Furthermore, the researchers conducted data reduction before drawing conclusions. The results of the study show that people who adhere to ugamo malim are always faced with intolerance and discrimination. The incorrect understanding of the function and meaning of religion in life, including the views of the minority of ugamo malim adherents, makes it difficult for ugamo malim adherents to be accepted by the general public and government circles. The discriminatory actions felt by religious people from various regions in Indonesia united them in a social movement to gain official recognition from the state. Groups of adherents from various regions in Indonesia submitted a request for judicial review to the Constitutional Court (MK) and it was granted. The efforts of followers of ugamo malim to continue to exist and preserve the values and traditions of the Toba Batak people in social movement theory are called new social movements. The main and first social movement carried out by the ugamo malim community was marhamalimon. Through marhamalimons, various rituals were established, a new center of worship was established, and the organizational structure of the parmalim was also determined. Efforts to fight civil rights were also carried out by ugamo Malim through education. Various negative prejudices against ugamo malim people have been identified by various achievements in the field of education. Ugamo malim people have worked in many government and private institutions and occupy strategic positions.

Abstract

Culture is an essential element of social life that influences people's norms and behaviors. Mythologies, especially those with religious and belief dimensions, play a key role in shaping human values and morals. Religion, tradition and myth become the moral framework that protects life in the social order. The Kapuhunan myth in Kalimantan reflects a shift in people's perception of bad luck, especially in Pangkalan Bun City. This research uses a qualitative approach with an interview method to understand how this myth influences the perception of religious communities. This myth is regarded as a symbol of supernatural power that brings disaster, believed by both natives and migrants, shaping the view of food as a determinant of bad luck. From a religious perspective, there is a moral dilemma between conventional beliefs and religious teachings. In Max Weber's theory of social action, instrumental rational, value, affective and traditional actions are reflected in the respect for the Kapuhunan myth. The analysis shows that this myth influences various types of social actions, shapes the behavior of people in Pangkalan Bun City, and raises a dilemma between traditional beliefs and religious teachings.

Abstract

Public services are the standard for government effectiveness in encouraging the realization of a good government system. In Madiun Regency the problem is the same as in other cities or districts in Indonesia, namely road damage. The people of Madiun Regency want all complaints to be responded to by Madiun Regency PUPR Service officials. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method or approach. Research data was obtained through observation of the use of the SILAT JANTAN application, interviews with Madiun Regency PUPR Service employees and the community, as well as documentation. This responsiveness analysis uses five elements of responsiveness, namely complaints from the public in 2023, the response of officials in responding to complaints, the use of complaints as reference material for service improvement, the actions of organizational officials in providing service satisfaction and the placement of the public by officials in the applicable service system. The research results show that the authorities in responding to complaints do not delay and are communicative in responding to complaints and processing report data from the public through the SILAT JANTAN application and submitting road repair requests. There are still few people who make complaints through the SILAT JANTAN application because many people do not know about the application. Community involvement is really needed because information from the community is useful for policy planning. For example, when people complain about damaged roads but don't know where to report it, the Madiun Regency PUPR Service launches an innovative reporting application system related to damaged roads. In providing satisfaction to the community, the PUPR Department is trying to be more targeted in handling road damage. The community is satisfied with the authorities' quick response in carrying out road repairs which are often complained about because it can prevent bad things from happening. The provision of services at the Madiun Regency PUPR Service does not involve discrimination, tries to be fast, professional and in accordance with established service standards. From the results of this research, so that community involvement meets expectations, Madiun Regency PUPR Service officials can increase socialization regarding the SILAT JANTAN application so that the application is known to many people.
