Abstract

: Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk melihat sejauh mana minuman tradisional tuak sebagai bagian dari kearifan lokal bermanfaat bagi individu dan masyarakat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data yaitu observasi, wawancara, dan studi dokumen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, bagi individu tuak merupakan minuman yang bermanfaat bagi kesehatan sedangkan bagi masyarakat tuak berfungsi sebagai alat untuk bersosialisasi. Seiring dengan produksi tuak yang berkualitas perlu dilakukan pengembangan kedai (lapo) tuak menjadi tempat yang bersih dan nyaman, sehingga pengunjung yang datang dapat menjadi pelanggan. Kepercayaan Batak tradisional menjadikan tuak sebagai sajian untuk roh-roh nenek moyang atau orang yang sudah meninggal, kini penyajian tuak menjadi berkembang pada berbagai acara dukacita dan sukacita. Dengan demikian minuman tradisional tuak memiliki fungsi kesehatan, fungsi ekonomi, fungsi sosial, fungsi keagamaan (religi), dan fungsi simbolik sehingga dapat merajut harmoni sosial.

Abstract

Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk melihat sejauh mana sistem kekerabatan dalihan na tolu sebagai bagian dari kearifan lokal bermanfaat bagi individu dan masyarakat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data observasi, wawancara, studi dokumen dan focus group discussion (FGD). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, bagi individu sistem kekerabatan dalihan na tolu merupakan pedoman dalam berperilaku sedangkan bagi masyarakat dalihan na tolu memiliki fungsi simbolik dalam segala aspek kehidupan. Sistem kekerabatan dalihan na tolu bersifat religius magis sehingga menjadi norma dalam masyarakat yang menyebabkan masyarakat dapat hidup harmonis.  Seiring dengan perkembangan zaman yang begitu pesat perlu dilakukan pelestarian nilai-nilai sistem kekerabatan dalihan na tolu karena mengedepankan prinsip musyawarah, persaudaraan, persahabatan dan kerukunan dalam segala bidang kehidupan. Dengan demikian sistem kekerabatan dalihan na tolu memiliki fungsi sosial, fungsi keagamaan, dan fungsi simbolik sehingga dapat merajut harmoni sosial.

Abstract

Abstract            Striving for interaction in society is well-established in order to create social harmony. The realization of this harmony is inseparable from the presence of religious figures who are leaders and mobilizers of society. For the Toba Batak community, a leader is a person who is liked and emulated. The leader has a leadership charisma that functions as a singer and unifier, so that he becomes someone who is emulated, respected and obeyed. The low participation of the congregation in Church services and the minimum attendance of the congregation in participating in worship activities are a challenge to the existence of the Church. The Church as a social organization needs leaders who are capable, reliable and who are role models so that the Church can develop properly. The method used in this research is descriptive method with a qualitative approach. Data were collected by observation, interviews, document study and focus group discussion (FGD). The unit of analysis and informants is the community in the North Tapanuli Bahagian area. Data interpreted using field notes. Keywords :Charism, Leadership, Church Development

Abstract

AbstrakMasyarakat yang beragam sangat perlu dirawat keharmonisannya agar tidak menimbulkan kecurigaan, perbedaan pandangan yang mengarah pada kesalahpahaman, pertentangan dan berujung pada konflik. Sistem Kemasyarakatan Dalihan na tolu yang diorientasikan dalam nilai budaya masyarakat Batak Toba, Angkola dan Mandailing menjadi modal utama dalam membina interaksi dan solidaritas sosial antar umat beragama. Terjadinya silang budaya melalui adaptasi, akulturasi dan asimilasi antara masyarakat lokal dan pendatang menjadi cara dalam membina interaksi dan solidaritas social antar umat beragama di Tapanuli Utara. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Data dikumpulkan dengan observasi dan wawancara. Unit analisis dan informasi adalah masyarakat lokal dan pedatang. Data ditafsirkan menggunakan catatan lapangan. Kata Kunci : Nilai Budaya, Interaksi, Solidaritas Sosial Abstract   Diverse society really needs to be maintained harmony so as not to arouse suspicion, differences in views that lead to misunderstanding, conflict and lead to conflict. The Dalihan na tolu Community System which is oriented in the cultural values of the Batak Toba, Angkola and Mandailing communities is the main capital in fostering interaction and social solidarity between religious communities. The occurrence of cross culture through adaptation, acculturation and assimilation between local people and migrants is a way to foster interaction and social solidarity between religious communities in North Tapanuli. The method used in this research is descriptive method with a qualitative approach. Data collected by observation and interview. Abstract

The traditional ceremony for the death of the ethnic Toba Batak is a sacred activity and is a hereditary heritage carried out to date. Death ceremonies vary according to the situation and place of the deceased. At present there are some changes in the implementation of the ceremonies of death after the Batak people in their hometown interact with people from other regions. The informants in this study are traditional leaders, religious leaders, people who have performed traditional death ceremonies in their hometown, namely North Tapanuli. This study found that the implementation of the stages of the event at the traditional ceremonies of death that occurred at this time experienced a development where the existing customs became more diverse. Existing traditional rites have begun to change, this change gave birth to a new habit. The occurrence of these new habits is caused by a variety of things, namely the influence of the majority of teachings adopted by the Toba Batak community, space and time that has changed, and the actualization of status and power to achieve life goals. Various strategies carried out by agents to achieve life goals by changing existing structures. Changes in the structure can be seen in changes in the implementation of ritual ceremonies which are organized repeatedly, where various practices of traditional ceremonies of death are always produced and reproduced, so they will still exist. Along with various developments, in the future the implementation of the traditional ceremony of death will experience challenges, namely consumerism, materialism and decreased solidarity. However, the challenge is not a barrier to continue carrying out traditional ceremonies.

Abstract

The traditional wedding ceremony of the Toba Batak ethnicity is a sacred activity and is a hereditary heritage carried out to this day. Currently, there are several changes in the implementation of traditional wedding ceremonies after the Batak Toba people in their hometown have interacted with people from other areas. The existing customary rites have begun to change, this change has given birth to a new habit. The purpose of this study was to determine the social changes in the traditional wedding ceremony of the Toba Batak ethnic group in Tapanuli Bahagian Utara. This research uses qualitative methods with data collection techniques, observations, interviews, document studies and focus group discussions. The results of this study found that the implementation of a series of stages in the traditional wedding ceremony that is currently taking place has progressed where the existing customs have become more diverse. The occurrence of this new habit is caused by various things, namely the influence of the teachings which the majority of the Batak Toba people adhere to, the changing space and time, and the actualization of status and power to achieve life goals. Various strategies are carried out by agents to achieve life goals by changing existing structures. This change in structure can be seen in changes in the way the traditional rituals are carried out which are organized repeatedly, in which various practices of traditional wedding ceremony rites are produced and reproduced, so that they continue to exist. Along with various developments, the implementation of traditional wedding ceremonies will experience challenges, namely consumerism, materialism and declining solidarity. However, this challenge is not a barrier to maintaining the traditional wedding ceremony.

Abstract

The rapid development of the times no longer allows the world of education to be comfortable with the applicable curriculum. Responding to this challenge, the Ministry of Education and Culture launched the Independent Learning Campus policy. The Sociology of Religion Study Program at IAKN Tarutung chose one of the eight Merdeka Learning programs, namely internships. The chosen internship is an internship with a structured form, with the hope that students can actualize their knowledge at the internship location. This study aims to determine the implementation of the sociology of religion curriculum development as a model for the implementation of independent learning internships at IAKN Tarutung. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The methods of observation, interviews, document studies and focus group discussions were used to collect data. The results showed that the Independent Learning internship was going well, as evidenced by the learning outcomes of the apprenticeship courses and the soft skills of students in four villages in the Toba Caldera geosite area which is the location of the internship, where the majority of students received satisfactory grades from course lecturers and field supervisors. from partners. This study also evaluates the results of the internship implementation using a SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) so that the implementation of internship activities will increase in the future.

Abstract

This paper aims to see the extent to which the provision of food and drink in the traditional ceremonies of the Batak Toba people is a means of actualizing social status. This study uses qualitative methods with data collection techniques of observation, interviews, document studies and focus group discussions (FGD). The results show that there is a relationship between culture and social status, where traditional ceremonies are the arena for the Toba Batak community to actualize social status. Actualization of social status is carried out through efforts to give gifts in the form of giving and receiving food and drinks in various traditional ceremonies among relatives. In principle, the provision of food and drink is only given in a perfunctory manner, in accordance with the rules or habits that have been carried out by the ancestors or previous parents, but now there has been a change. Ironically, the change is not because of important situations and needs, but because of self-actualization efforts to show family identity or someone who is in a high social class.Abstrak: Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk melihat sejauh mana pemberian makanan dan minuman dalam upacara adat masyarakat Batak Toba menjadi sarana aktualisasi status sosial. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data observasi, wawancara, studi dokumen dan focus group discussion (FGD). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat relasi antara budaya dan status sosial, dimana upacara adat menjadi arena masyarakat Batak Toba untuk mengaktualisasikan status sosial. Aktualisasi status sosial dilakukan melalui usaha-usaha memberikan hadiah yang berupa pemberian dan penerimaan makanan dan minuman dalam berbagai upacara adat di antara unsur kerabat. Pemberian makanan dan minuman pada prinsipnya hanya diberikan ala kadarnya, sesuai dengan aturan atau kebiasaan yang telah dijalankan oleh leluhur atau orang tua terdahulu, namun kini telah terjadi perubahan. Ironisnya perubahan tersebut bukan karena situasi dan kebutuhan yang penting, namun karena adanya upaya mengaktualisasikan diri untuk menunjukkan identitas keluarga atau seseorang yang berada pada kelas sosial yang tinggi.
