Abstract

This study aims to analyze how the news framing of the Value Added Tax (VAT) increase to 12 percent is constructed by two online media platforms, namely Kompas.com and Antara News, from December 2024 to January 2025. The method used is a framing analysis model by Pan and Kosicki with a descriptive qualitative approach. The data were obtained through purposive sampling by selecting 10 popular news articles from each media outlet. The results of the study show that both media present different framing tendencies: Kompas.com emphasizes public and business responses, while Antara News focuses more on the government’s perspective. The differences are evident in the syntactic, script, thematic, and rhetorical structures of each media outlet. These findings indicate that the construction of reality is influenced by editorial interests and audience segmentation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of the implementation of Quality Standards (X1) and Teacher Competence (X2) on the Quality of Learning (Y) at SMA Negeri 1 Leuwiliang, Bogor Regency. Improving the quality of education is a crucial agenda in human resource development, where its success at the school level is largely determined by the synergy between the implementation of systemic standards and the capabilities of individual educators. This study uses a quantitative approach with an explanatory research type to explain the causal relationship between variables. The research sample consisted of 30 teachers selected through a purposive sampling technique. Data collection was carried out using a Likert-scale questionnaire consisting of 50 statements. Data were analyzed using the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method with SmartPLS 4.0 software. The results of the analysis show that (1) Quality Standards have a positive and significant effect on the Quality of Learning with a path coefficient of 0.350; (2) Teacher Competence has a positive and significant effect on the Quality of Learning with a path coefficient of 0.550. Simultaneously, the two independent variables explained 68.3% of the variance in the Learning Quality variable. This finding indicates that while structured quality standards are an important foundation, teacher competency is the most influential factor in creating superior learning quality at SMAN 1 Leuwi Liang. The practical implication of this research is the need to prioritize ongoing teacher professional development programs, in addition to ensuring compliance with national education standards.

Abstract

“Sipping soft power” describes how simple activities such as brewing and enjoying coffee can be a subtle way to convey cultural values, strengthen international relations, and build a positive image of Indonesia in the eyes of the world. In the context of bilateral relations that have been established for over 75 years, coffee has transformed into a cultural symbol reflecting Indonesia's national identity. Using a qualitative case study approach with Nation Branding theory (Anholt) and soft power theory (Nye), this study utilizes data from official reports, scientific literature, and documentation of coffee diplomacy activities. The research findings indicate that the diversity of coffee flavors from various regions in Indonesia, born from tropical geographical conditions, fertile volcanic soil, and sustainable agricultural practices, makes coffee a representation of Indonesia's cultural and natural wealth. Coffee-drinking traditions such as tubruk coffee and klotok coffee are part of social life and offer authentic narratives that strengthen Indonesia's cultural appeal in the eyes of the American public. Through active promotion involving businesses, the diaspora, and state diplomacy, coffee has successfully created cross-cultural emotional experiences that bring foreign consumers closer to Indonesia's local values. This makes coffee not only an economic commodity but also a symbol of national identity that strengthens Indonesia's positive image in bilateral relations with the United States.

Abstract

Choosing an elementary school is a complex decision for parents, influenced by multiple factors. This study aims to analyze the determinants of parents’ decisions in selecting an Integrated Islamic Elementary School (SDIT), identify the most dominant factor, and examine the moderating role of trust. The research was conducted at SDIT Cahaya Bangsa, Semarang City, using a quantitative approach with multiple regression and Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA). Data were collected through a closed-ended questionnaire from 244 parents and analyzed using SPSS software. The findings indicate that religious values (B = 0.363), school services (B = 0.259), character education (B = 0.186), and school quality (B = 0.167) significantly influence parents’ decisions. Conversely, potential development (B = 0.017; p = 0.814) shows no significant effect. Trust significantly moderates the influence of potential development (B = 0.017; p = 0.013) but weakens the effect of school services (B = -0.022; p = 0.000). Religious values emerge as the most dominant factor. This research contributes theoretically by incorporating trust into the educational decision-making model, addressing a gap in studies on Integrated Islamic Schools. The results provide practical insights for schools to enhance their strategies and build stronger relationships with parents in supporting student development.

Abstract

This study was due to the high number of students, particularly in the 11th grade, who are not yet aware of their own personalities and learning styles. Students tend to follow the learning process as directed by their teachers, while teachers predominantly use traditional methods with limited variations in the classroom. Consequently, students whose personalities did not align with these methods may struggle to engage effectively in the learning process. This study used a descriptive quantitative research approach with descriptive statistical methods. The population in this research consists of 11th-grade students at SMKN 1 Bukittinggi. The sample for the study was selected using a random sampling technique, resulting in a randomly chosen group of 11th-grade students. The instruments used in the study include questionnaires to investigate learning styles and another set of questionnaires to assess personality types. For data analysis, the researchers applied descriptive statistics with percentages and data visualizations, representing the results in bar and pie charts. The results revealed that the dominant personality type among 11th-grade students at SMKN 1 Bukittinggi is ambivert, accounting for 64% of the total sample. The dominant learning style among these students is kinesthetic, with a total percentage of 26%. The study also found that the dominant learning style for introverted students is visual, while extroverted students primarily prefer kinesthetic learning. Meanwhile, ambivert students tend to prefer a multimodal approach, showing the ability to adapt to various learning styles.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the fluctuating number of customers of CV. Sahabat Bumi, which operates in the palm oil trading sector in Merangin Regency, Jambi Province. The declining trend of customer loyalty highlights the need to examine the factors that influence it. The aim of this research is to analyze the effect of corporate image and service quality on customer loyalty with customer satisfaction as a mediating variable. This quantitative research involved 141 active customers who had made at least two transactions. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using structural equation modeling. The results show that corporate image has a positive effect on both customer loyalty and satisfaction, whereas service quality does not have a positive effect on either loyalty or satisfaction. Customer satisfaction is proven to mediate the relationship between corporate image and customer loyalty but does not mediate the relationship between service quality and loyalty. These findings indicate that customer loyalty at CV. Sahabat Bumi remains low, implying the need for the company to focus on improving service consistency, response speed, transparent communication, and corporate reputation to retain and enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty in the future. This research is expected to provide insights for management in formulating effective marketing strategies. Future research should consider adding other variables such as promotional mix or customer trust to produce more comprehensive results.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of digital leadership, agile working, and collaborative technology on employee performance at PT. Sanly Industries. The research is motivated by the growing importance of digital transformation in modern business environments, where leadership styles, work flexibility, and technological collaboration significantly affect organizational success. In today's dynamic and fast-paced digital era, companies are increasingly required to adapt quickly and innovate continuously. Digital leadership refers to a leader’s ability to drive digital transformation by leveraging digital tools, fostering innovation, and encouraging open communication. Agile working, which emphasizes flexibility, autonomy, and adaptability in work arrangements, is also critical in ensuring responsiveness to change. Moreover, collaborative technology—such as digital platforms and communication tools—facilitates real-time interaction and teamwork, ultimately improving employee efficiency and coordination. This research adopts a quantitative method with a descriptive associative approach. Data was gathered through the distribution of structured questionnaires to employees at PT. Sanly Industries. The collected data were then analyzed using multiple linear regression to determine the relationship between the independent variables (digital leadership, agile working, and collaborative technology) and the dependent variable (employee performance). The results of the study reveal that each of the three independent variables—digital leadership, agile working, and collaborative technology—has a positive and statistically significant effect on employee performance. Furthermore, when analyzed simultaneously, these variables collectively demonstrate a strong influence, as indicated by a high coefficient of determination. This suggests that improvements in these areas contribute meaningfully to enhanced employee performance. The findings underscore the need for organizations to invest in digital leadership development, promote agile work cultures, and implement effective collaborative technologies as part of an integrated strategy to boost employee productivity and organizational performance in the digital era.

Abstract

This study discusses the strategies for developing human resources (HR) implemented by the West Java Provincial Legislative Council through international partnerships and cooperation. In the context of globalization and increasingly intense regional competition, Human Resource Development has become one of the top priorities for enhancing regional competitiveness. The West Java Regional Legislative Council plays a role as a legislative body and a strategic actor in regional diplomacy (paradiplomacy) by establishing international relations to support capacity building in various sectors, particularly education, industry, and technology. This study employs a qualitative approach using document analysis, interviews, and secondary data analysis from various cooperation agreements, including those with Chungcheongnam-do Province, South Korea. The findings reveal that the international cooperation facilitated by The West Java Legislative Council not only enhances access to education and training for the youth of West Java but also opens opportunities for internships, student exchanges, and technology transfer aligned with the needs of the local industry. This strategy demonstrates synergy between legislative policies and regional development directions focused on improving human resource quality. Additionally, The West Java Legislative Council promotes integrating global values into the local context, enabling West Java's society to adapt more effectively to global dynamics. Thus, international cooperation effectively strengthens the foundation for sustainable and highly competitive human resource development in West Java.

Abstract

The need for a halal industry encourages efforts to create a policy model that can guarantee the public to obtain halal products. Efforts to protect the public against halal products must of course start from government policies to formulate legal norms into laws and institutions that handle them. Article 10 of Law No. Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 6 of 2023 concerning the Determination of Government Regulation in Lieu of Law Number 2 of 2022 concerning Job Creation into Law, that the Cooperation of BPJPH with the Central, Provincial, Regency/City Indonesian Ulema Council, or the Aceh Ulema Consultative Assembly as referred to in Article 7 paragraph (1) letter c is carried out in terms of determining the halal of Products. The halal industry that is developing in accordance with the needs of the Indonesian people who are predominantly Muslim, must be carried out massively, so that the rights of the community to halal products from the halal industry in the form of food, drinks and other products can be fulfilled by the state. This study focuses on the dynamics of state policy towards the halal industry in Indonesia with a state foundation based on religion in accordance with the provisions of the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia, using a qualitative method with a legal approach as an analysis in this study.
