Abstract

Oral and dental health is an essential part of general health because it can influence various systemic diseases. Debris and plaque are the main factors affecting oral hygiene. Based on a preliminary survey conducted among 40 students of the Medical Laboratory Technology Study Program at Poltekkes Kemenkes Kupang, 39 students (95%) had dental caries, and none of the respondents had routine dental check-ups. One natural effort that can help maintain oral hygiene is consuming fruits rich in fiber and water, such as lontar fruit (Borassus flabellifer L.). This study aimed to describe the debris and plaque scores before and after consuming lontar fruit among Medical Laboratory Technology students. This study used a descriptive observational design with a population of 360 students and a sample of 78 respondents selected using the Slovin formula and random sampling technique. Data were collected through direct examination of debris and plaque scores before and after consuming lontar fruit. The results showed that the average debris score decreased from 1.7 (moderate category) to 0.07 (good category), while the average plaque (PHP) score decreased from 3.2 (poor category) to 0.6 (good category). The study concluded that consuming lontar fruit could help reduce debris and plaque scores, thereby potentially improving oral and dental hygiene. The novelty of this study lies in the utilization of lontar fruit as a natural local food-based alternative for maintaining oral health and as a reference for the development of future research and dental health education in the field of health education.

Abstract

Mie Paus Restaurant operates through both offline and online sales channels, creating fluctuating demand patterns that affect perishable raw material inventory requirements. Demand uncertainty increases the risk of stockouts and overstock situations, which may disrupt production activities. This study aims to analyze perishable inventory control and propose an inventory policy using the Periodic Review System. The data include product demand from July–December 2025, Bill of Material (BOM), lead time, and inventory records. The research stages consist of demand aggregation from offline and online channels, demand forecasting, BOM-based material requirement planning, and inventory parameter calculations. The results indicate that the Moving Average (MA-3) method is the most accurate forecasting model with MAD of 80.11, MSE of 11,990.11, and MAPE of 4.35%, generating a January 2026 demand forecast of 5,684 portions. The proposed Periodic Review System results in a 7-day review period, a 95% service level, safety stocks of 42 eggs, 1 kg of chicken skin, 11 bundles of mustard greens, and 520 portions of noodle dough. The target inventory levels are 167 eggs, 2 kg of chicken skin, 20 bundles of mustard greens, and 1,873 portions of noodle dough. The proposed approach provides a more structured and data-driven inventory control system compared with the company’s current practice.

Abstract

This paper aims to analyze the representation of women in Pramoedya Ananta Toer's novel Bumi Manusia through the framework of feminist literary criticism. The adoption of socialist feminist theory is deemed highly relevant given the issues present in the novel, where women encounter various forms of oppression reinforced by patriarchy, colonialism, and capitalism. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method with a feminist literary criticism approach. Data were collected through library research using the novel Bumi Manusia as the primary source, along with scholarly journals and related books as secondary data. The findings reveal that Bumi Manusia portrays multiple forms of gender injustice experienced by female characters, including marginalization, subordination, gender stereotypes, and gender-based violence. These injustices do not exist in isolation but are sustained by three interconnected pillars: local patriarchy, European colonialism, and capitalism. The novel Bumi Manusia serves not only as a historical record of the socio-historical conditions of women during the colonial period but also as a tool of social critique that remains relevant to contemporary issues of gender inequality in Indonesian society.

Abstract

Child marriage remains a legal and social issue in Indonesia despite the enactment of Law Number 16 of 2019, which sets the minimum marriage age at 19 years. This study aims to analyze the regulation of underage marriage requirements and the judges’ considerations in granting marriage dispensation in the Decision of the Depok Religious Court Number 0094/Pdt.P/2020/PA.Dpk. The research method used is normative legal research with a descriptive qualitative approach, utilizing secondary data consisting of primary, secondary, and tertiary legal materials analyzed systematically. The results indicate that although positive law has established a minimum marriage age, the existence of a dispensation mechanism creates loopholes that contribute to the persistence of child marriage practices. In the examined case, the judge granted the dispensation by considering juridical, social, and benefit aspects to prevent greater harm. Therefore, the judicial decision reflects not only legal certainty but also justice and utility for the parties involved.

Abstract

The Green Campus concept is an approach to campus development that emphasizes environmental sustainability through energy efficiency, resource conservation, green open spaces, and environmentally friendly infrastructure management. Its implementation is important in creating a comfortable, healthy, and sustainable learning environment, especially in vocational education institutions with intensive academic activities. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Green Campus concept at Politeknik Negeri Manado based on campus spatial planning and infrastructure aspects. The research employed a quantitative descriptive method using field observations, documentation, and data analysis based on the UI GreenMetric indicators in the Setting and Infrastructure category. The results show that Politeknik Negeri Manado has implemented several Green Campus principles, including the provision of green open spaces, shading vegetation, natural lighting utilization in buildings, and pedestrian circulation systems in several campus areas. These efforts contribute to a more comfortable and environmentally friendly academic environment. However, improvements are still needed in optimizing integrated pedestrian pathways, implementing sustainable drainage systems, managing rainwater, and providing environmentally friendly transportation facilities. This study is expected to serve as a reference for sustainable campus development and support the implementation of the Green Campus program at Politeknik Negeri Manado in a more comprehensive and sustainable manner.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has transformed communication strategies in public diplomacy. The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) in Bratislava utilizes digital marketing to promote Indonesian culture in the Slovak Republic and strengthen Indonesia’s image abroad. This study aims to analyze KBRI Bratislava’s digital marketing strategies and examine their relationship with public diplomacy and Indonesia’s soft power. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach using the grounded theory method. Data were collected through interviews with KBRI Bratislava officials, recipients of the Darmasiswa Program and Indonesian Arts and Culture Scholarship (BSBI), and Slovak citizens involved in cultural promotion activities. Secondary data were obtained from the 2025 KBRI Bratislava Performance Report, activity documentation, and social media content. The findings show that digital marketing is implemented through social media, official websites, the Virtual Indonesia House Slovakia platform, digital publications, cultural promotion, gastronomic diplomacy, educational promotion, and tourism promotion. These strategies increase public engagement, strengthen nation branding, and support Indonesia’s public diplomacy more broadly. This study concludes that digital marketing is an effective instrument of modern diplomacy for promoting Indonesian culture abroad.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of Western culture on the lifestyles of Indonesian adolescents in the era of globalization and social media. Using a mixed-method approach that combines descriptive quantitative and qualitative analyses, data were collected through an online questionnaire distributed to 55 student respondents aged 16–26 years. The findings indicate that Western culture has a significant influence on the lifestyles of Indonesian adolescents, particularly in the areas of fashion, language, and entertainment consumption. A total of 54 out of 55 respondents admitted to engaging in code-switching (mixing English into conversations) in their daily communication. Meanwhile, TikTok, Instagram, and Netflix were identified as the most dominant channels for the dissemination of Western culture. Positive impacts reported by respondents include improved English language proficiency, broader perspectives, and enhanced creativity and innovation. Conversely, concerning negative impacts include a declining interest in local culture, the emergence of consumerist and individualistic behaviors driven by the Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) phenomenon, and the adoption of lifestyles that are inconsistent with local norms. Nevertheless, the majority of adolescents (90.9%) demonstrated critical awareness by recognizing the importance of filtering foreign cultural influences before adopting them. These findings suggest the need to strengthen cultural and digital literacy among adolescents, encourage the active involvement of parents and educational institutions, and promote government support for the digitalization of local culture as an effort to maintain a balance between global openness and the preservation of national cultural identity.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the practice of legal pluralism in determining uang panai’ and jujuran in Bugis–Banjar marriages, the forms of conflict that arise, and the mechanisms of negotiation and conflict resolution employed by the parties involved. This research adopts a qualitative approach using a normative-sociological method through the perspectives of sociology of law and legal pluralism theory. The findings indicate that the practices of uang panai’ and jujuran represent a form of strong legal pluralism, demonstrating the simultaneous operation of two customary legal systems within a single social sphere. Legal pluralism in this context is reflected not only in the coexistence of two distinct customary traditions but also in the interaction, contestation, and negotiation between the Bugis and Banjar customary legal systems, both of which possess social legitimacy within the community. Differences in value orientation between uang panai’, which is based on social prestige, and jujuran, which is oriented toward economic capability, constitute the primary source of conflict. These conflicts are subsequently resolved through non-litigation mechanisms, including family negotiations, customary deliberations, and informal mediation by customary and religious leaders. Nevertheless, these resolution mechanisms tend to be compromise-oriented and have not fully addressed issues of unequal burden distribution and substantive justice. Therefore, legal pluralism in Bugis–Banjar marriage practices not only reflects local cultural diversity but also presents challenges in the form of normative conflicts, contestation of customary authority, and social legal uncertainty.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the effects of social media, service, and product quality on consumer purchase decisions at Ayam Geprek Bensu Restaurant in Kupang City. A quantitative approach was applied through a survey of 90 consumers who had purchased and consumed the restaurant's products. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed through validity and reliability tests, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression, t-test, F-test, and coefficient of determination. The findings showed that social media had a positive and significant effect on purchase decisions. Product quality also had a positive and significant effect and became the most dominant factor. Service had a positive but statistically insignificant effect. Simultaneously, the three variables significantly influenced purchase decisions and explained 54.6% of the variation. These findings emphasize the need to integrate social media strategy, product quality, and service standards. The results also indicate that effective digital marketing can strengthen customer engagement and improve brand visibility, while maintaining consistent product quality remains essential for encouraging repeat purchases and consumer loyalty. Although service quality did not significantly influence purchase decisions individually, continuous improvements in service delivery are still important to enhance customer satisfaction and support long-term business competitiveness. Therefore, restaurant managers should prioritize integrated marketing strategies that combine attractive social media content, superior product quality, and consistent service performance to strengthen consumer purchasing behavior and sustain competitive advantage in the increasingly dynamic restaurant industry.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a campus-based educational tourism product model grounded in experience-based tourism in Bandung, a city with a high concentration of higher education institutions and strong potential for educational tourism development. However, current campus visit activities remain conventional, are not yet organized into structured tourism packages, and have not fully incorporated immersive experience design. This study adopts an action research approach consisting of iterative cycles of planning, action, observation, and reflection, allowing the researcher to both design and test the model through pilot implementation of tourism packages, while collecting data through interviews, field observations, and documentation for continuous improvement. The findings produce a product planning model that integrates cognitive, affective, sensory, and conative dimensions across each stage of the tourist customer journey. This model is expected to support higher education institutions in strengthening institutional promotion while also offering a practical and adaptive innovation for the tourism industry in Bandung.
