Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to describe the intrinsic elements in the form of characters, setting, plot, point of view, theme, and moral value in the novel "Emil und die Detective" by Erich Kästner.  The research data is in the form of primary data and secondary data.  Primary data is direct data from the text of the novel “Emil und die Detective”.  Secondary data is supporting data that contains additional information in the form of journals, articles and books.  Data were analyzed based on a qualitative approach with content analysis.  The results of the research are as follows, setting of place: Berlin, setting of time: summer vacation, social environment: culture, plot: progressive plot, theme: adventure, point of view: third person omniscient, moral value: doesn’t easily trust strangers strangers.  Character education values: religious values, integrity values, independent values, and mutual cooperation values.Keyword: intrinsic element, content analysis, Emil und die Detektive, Erich Kästner

Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to determine the ability to read and understand the German fairy tale "Frau Holle" of Class XII students at SMAN 8 Makassar and the factors that influence the ability to read and understand German fairy tales for class XII students at SMAN 8 Makassar. This study uses a quantitative descriptive method. Data collection using written tests and questionnaires. Data analysis using percentage technique. The population in this study were students of class XII IPA 1, XII IPA 2 and XII IPA 3 at SMAN 8 Makassar. The sample in this study were 32 students of class XII IPA 3 at SMAN 8 Makassar. The results of this study indicate that the ability to read and understand the German fairy tale “Frau Holle” for class XII students at SMAN 8 Makassar is in the very good category (87.5%). There are two factors that influence the ability to read and understand the German-language fairy tale "Frau Holle", namely the supporting factors that come from within the students themselves and from the availability of German books at school and the inhibiting factors in the form of the attitude of intelligence of students who think that German language is difficult and external factors, namely the school environment.Keyword: Ability, Reading, Understanding, German Fairy Tales

Abstract

Abstract. This research is a correlation research to get the relationship between interest in learning and German learning success of students at SMA Negeri 11 Makassar. The variables of this research were the learning interests of the students (X) and their German learning success (Y). The population of this research consisted of all grade XII students, with a total class size of 4 grades and a total of 121 students. The research sample consists of 31 XII IPS 1 students who were randomly selected. The files for this research were obtained from a scaled interest in learningtest with documentation from student reports. Based on the results of the Product Moment Correlation data analysis, it turns out that r count (0.781) > r table (0.344) with a significant level at 0,05%. The result of the file analysis shows that there is a strong relationship between interest in learning and learning success at SMA Negeri 11 MakassarKeyword: Interest, Performance, Learning, German

Abstract

Abstract. This research is a Quasi-Experimental design (non-equivalent design) which aims to find out data and information on the effectiveness of TikTok media in increasing the German vocabulary of class XI students at SMA Negeri 14 Makassar. The population of this research were students of class XI Social Sciences at SMAN 14 Makassar, totaling 70 students from two classes. The sample in this research was selected randomly (random sampling), namely students in class XI IPS 3 as an experimental class, totaling 35 students, and class XI IPS 4 as a control class, totaling 35 students. The research data were analyzed using the t-test. The results of the data analysis showed that ????ℎ???????????????????? 12.75 > ttable 1.998 at a significant level of 0.05. The results indicate that TikTok media is effective in increasing the German vocabulary of class XI students of SMA Negeri 14 Makassar.Keyword: Effectiveness, Media, TikTok, Vocabulary

Abstract

Abstract. This research is a classroomaction research which consists of two cycles. The purpose of this study was to determine the planning, process and results of using Nicos Weg's video media in improving the German listening skills of class XI IPS 2 students of SMA Negeri 1 Bone. The data in this study consisted of two types, namely: quantitative data and qualitative data. Qualitative data were obtained through observation and quantitative data obtained through the results of the listening ability test cycle I and cycle II. The results of the data analysis showed that the listening ability score obtained by students in the first cycle was 76.28%, while in the second cycle it was 87.57%. These results indicate that the use of Nicos Weg's video media can improve the German listening skills of class XI IPS 2 students of SMA Negeri 1 Bone.Keyword: Listening Ability,Nicos Weg, Germany

Abstract

Abstract. The main concern of the study is the verb construction process through suffixes in Indonesian and German by using contrastive analysis. The primary purpose of this study is to find the types of suffixes that can be used to build the verb in both languages, namely the Indonesian and German. By using a literature review and contrastive analysis approach, the similarities and the distinction between the two languages can be shown, so as to facilitate typical Indonesian students to learn the German language or vice versa. The results of the study showed that verb suffix construction in Indonesian consists of suffix i- and suffix –kan, both of which foster the imperative verbs (commands). Meanwhile, the verb suffix formation in German consists of suffix -el,-er, and-ig. The three suffixes can form the verb if they are attached to verbs, nouns and adjectives. In addition to all three suffixes, there are also other suffixes that often attach to verbs when conjugated, such as, the suffix –e, -st (-est),-t (-et), and -en for the present tense (Prӓsen) and the suffix –te, -test (-etest), -tet (-etet), -ten (-eten) for past tense (Prӓteritum) in regular verbs.Keyword: verb, suffixes, Indonesian, German, contrastive analysis

Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to describe the types of illocutionary speech acts between teachers and students in learning German at SMA Negeri 16 Makassar.  The research data is in the form of oral speech between the German teacher and class XII IPA 1 students during the learning process.  This research is descriptive qualitative.  Data collection was carried out through observing, recording and note taking techniques.  Data analysis using qualitative data analysis techniques according to Mattew B. Miles and A. Michael Huberman, namely data reduction, data presentation, and  conclusions/data verification.  The results of the study found that there were four types of illocutionary speech acts during the process of learning German in class XII IPA 1, namely assertive, directive, commissive, and expressive speech acts.Keyword: Illocutionary Speech Acts, Teachers and Students, Qualitative Data Analysis

Abstract

Abstract. The purpose of this study was to determine the increase in German vocabulary mastery of class XI students at SMA Negeri 14 Gowa through the application of the Drill method. This type of research is classroom action research which consists of two cycles with each cycle consisting of two meetings. The subject of this study was class XI Mipa 3 SMA Negeri 14 Gowa. There are two types of this research, namely qualitative data and quantitative data. Qualitative data were obtained from teacher and student observation data, while quantitative data were obtained from students' German vocabulary tests. The results of students' German vocabulary tests in cycle I obtained an average of 69.5 and experienced an increase in cycle II with an average value of 84.7. The results of this test show that the application of the Drill method can increase the German vocabulary of class XI students of SMA Negeri 14 Gowa.Keyword: Implementation, Vocabulary, Drill Method

Abstract

Abstract. The purpose of this study was to obtain data about errors in the use of Possessivpronomen for class XI students of SMA Negeri 8 Makassar. This research is a type of descriptive research with a quantitative method approach. The population of this study were students of class XI SMA Negeri 8 Makassar consisting of 184 students. The research sample was Class XI MIPA 4 as an experimental class consisting of 36 students. Research data were analyzed using written tests and open questionnaires. Based on the results of the research data analysis, it was shown that the highest number of errors made by students were in simple Possessivpronomen sentences with Akkusativ cases for Masculine types of 19 students out of 36 students and in Possessivpronomen usage errors with Nominativ cases for Masculine and Feminine types by 15 out of 36 studentsKeyword: Error analysis, Possessivpronomen simple sentences, German

Abstract

Abstract. This research aims to determine the level of reading ability to understand German texts for students of class X IPS SMA Negeri 10 Makassar. analysis using descriptive methods. For data collection, written text is used. The text consists of multiple choice and right and wrong tests. Then the data is analyzed with the percentage technique. The population in this study is class X IPS students at SMA Negeri 10 Makassar, which consists of 3 classes with 93 students. This research stamp is class X IPS 3 students, with as many as 30 selected randomly. The results of this study show that the ability to read and understand the German text of students of grade X IPS 3 SMA Negeri 10 Makassar is included in the excellent category (68.83%).Keyword: Ability, Reading Understanding, Text
