Abstract

Customer loyalty has become a critical factor for sustaining competitiveness in the hotel industry, particularly in increasingly digital and data-driven business environments. Although hotels continuously generate large volumes of transactional customer data, transforming this data into actionable insights for customer retention and marketing decision-making remains a significant challenge. This study proposes an Explainable Machine Learning Framework for hotel customer loyalty prediction using transactional behavioral data. The study used a publicly available hotel customer transaction dataset from the Mendeley Data repository, comprising 2,000 customer records. A supervised machine learning approach was employed using Logistic Regression, Decision Tree, Random Forest, XGBoost, Support Vector Machine (SVM), K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN), and Naïve Bayes. Model performance was evaluated using Stratified K-Fold Cross-Validation and classification metrics, including Accuracy, Precision, Recall, F1-Score, and ROC-AUC. Experimental results demonstrated that all evaluated models achieved perfect classification performance, with Accuracy, Precision, Recall, F1-Score, and ROC-AUC values reaching 1.000. SHAP analysis revealed that frequency_of_bookings, days_since_last_booking, total_meal_charges, and total_revenue_generated were the primary drivers of customer loyalty prediction, while average_stay_duration showed minimal influence. The findings indicate that booking frequency and customer recency are the most influential behavioral factors affecting loyalty outcomes. From a managerial perspective, the proposed framework provides actionable insights for customer retention, customer segmentation, loyalty programs, and personalized marketing strategies. This study contributes to predictive customer analytics and Explainable Artificial Intelligence by integrating predictive accuracy with transparent interpretation of customer behavior in hotel loyalty management.

Abstract

The Threads platform reached 100 million signups in five days but experienced a drastic decline in users, indicating challenges in maintaining sustainable adoption. This study aims to analyze the factors influencing Threads adoption among Indonesian Generation Z using a modified UTAUT framework with the addition of User Satisfaction and Inertia constructs. This study used a quantitative approach with 474 valid respondents from Generation Z in six Indonesian provinces through purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using PLS-SEM through SmartPLS 4.0 to test nine research hypotheses. The measurement model confirmed adequate validity and reliability. The structural model showed substantial explanatory power with R² of 0.717 (Intention to Use), 0.681 (Actual Use), and 0.585 (User Satisfaction). Eight of the nine hypotheses were supported. User Satisfaction is the strongest predictor of Intention to Use (β=0.652), Intention to Use predominantly influences Actual Use (β=0.801), Performance Expectancy predicts User Satisfaction (β=0.579), and Social Influence influences Intention to Use (β=0.279). Inertia has a significant negative effect on Intention to Use (β=-0.122), confirming that habitual attachment to X (formerly Twitter) hinders Threads adoption. Facilitating Conditions are insignificant on Intention to Use but have a direct effect on Actual Use. The novelty of this study lies in the integration of User Satisfaction and Inertia constructs into UTAUT for the context of competitive social media platform switching, which has not been widely explored in the literature. Practically, Meta needs to prioritize improving user experience and addressing switching barriers to sustain Threads adoption in the Indonesian market.

Abstract

Organizational commitment is a critical determinant of effectiveness in high-risk institutions such as police organizations. However, existing studies largely examine leadership, organizational climate, and organizational support separately, with limited attention to the simultaneous mediating roles of organizational trust and work motivation. This study aims to analyze the influence of inspirational leadership, organizational climate, and organizational support on organizational commitment through organizational trust and work motivation. This study employed a quantitative explanatory design using a survey method. Data were collected from 215 active personnel of the B Pioneer Battalion of the Mobile Brigade Corps (Brimob), Central Kalimantan Regional Police, using purposive sampling. The data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results reveal that inspirational leadership, organizational climate, and organizational support do not directly affect organizational commitment. However, these variables significantly influence organizational trust and work motivation, which in turn significantly affect organizational commitment. Most mediation paths were significant, confirming the dominance of psychological mechanisms. The novelty of this study lies in integrating organizational and psychological antecedents simultaneously in a high-risk public sector setting. The findings imply that strengthening institutional trust and intrinsic motivation is more effective than relying solely on structural interventions to improve organizational commitment.

Abstract

While AI-based personalization is prevalent in e-commerce, the psychological processes underlying the transformation of these experiences into engagement remain under-theorized. The current study aims to examine a moderated-mediation model with perceived value and customer trust as parallel mediators and privacy concerns as moderator. We conducted a quantitative cross-sectional survey among 476 online consumers in Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand. The data were analyzed using SmartPLS 4.0 using PLS-SEM, which includes measurement invariance testing and power analysis.  The results confirm that AI-driven personalization significantly increases engagement directly and indirectly through perceived value (β=0.235) and trust (β=0.145). Interestingly, privacy concerns largely mitigate the trust-building path (β=−0.143). This research makes a novel contribution to the literature by empirically validating the “personalization-privacy paradox” in the emerging Southeast Asian market through a dual-pathway mediation lens. In practice, e-commerce operators should consider functional utility (value) as the main driver of engagement, while trust is a long-term relational outcome that needs transparent data governance.

Abstract

Product quality is a critical factor in improving competitiveness and operational performance in the bottled drinking water industry. This study aimed to develop a quality control model for 285 mL bottled drinking water production using the Seven Quality Tools approach to improve production effectiveness. This research employed a quantitative descriptive case study design. Quality data collected during the production period of January–July 2025 were analyzed using the Seven Quality Tools, including Check Sheet, Stratification, Pareto Diagram, Histogram, Scatter Diagram, Control Chart, and Fishbone Diagram. Improvement strategies were then formulated using the 5W+1H approach. The production volume reached 1,950,000 bottles, with 12,338 defective products, corresponding to a defect rate of 0.63%. The dominant defects consisted of dented bottles (43.35%), insufficient filling volume (31.22%), and folded bottle caps (25.43%). Pareto analysis identified dented bottles as the primary defect requiring immediate corrective action. Fishbone analysis indicated that the major root causes were associated with machine conditions, material handling, operational methods, and human factors. The findings demonstrate that integrating the Seven Quality Tools with the 5W+1H approach provides an effective framework for identifying defect priorities, analyzing root causes, and formulating corrective actions. The proposed quality control model emphasizes preventive maintenance, standard operating procedure standardization, continuous process monitoring, and operator competency development. This model supports continuous quality improvement by reducing defects, improving process stability, and enhancing production effectiveness, while offering a practical reference for quality management implementation in the bottled drinking water manufacturing industry.

Abstract

Achieving an optimal balance between diagnostic image quality and radiation dosimetry is foundational to effective diagnostic imaging and the ALARA principle. The aim of this study is to analyze Incident Air Kerma (INAK) and Entrance Surface Air Kerma (ESAK) values from general radiograph examination to evaluate diagnostic efficacy and radiation safety. Baseline data were collected from quality control compliance testing of a Radnext32 Hitachi Computed Radiography system. Subsequently, data analysis was conducted on a lower extremity radiographic survey, encompassing over 30 patients per region using a constant focus-to-film distance of 100 cm.  By using graph plotting tool in Microsoft excel, it revealed a robust correlation between tube voltage (kV) and INAK (R2>0.99), modeled by the power function trendline y=5.10-6x2,1593. Femur examinations result in the highest ESAK values (0.20–0.60 mGy, outliers to 0.92 mGy), while genu, cruris, and ankle doses clustered tightly between 0.04–0.37 mGy. All values complied with the Indonesia Dose Reference Level (I-DRL) and IAEA guidelines. Radiation dose correlated linearly with body weight, though data dispersion suggests confounding anthropometric variables (sex, age, height) influence optimization. Discussion: This study establishes critical baseline dosimetry for lower extremity radiography. Its novelty lies in establishing a precise mathematical power function to predict INAK and ESAK changes specifically for lower extremities based on real-world clinical data. These findings advance radiation research by highlighting that standard weight-based dosing is insufficient; future optimization protocols must multi-variably integrate diverse patient anthropometrics and mandatory source-to-surface distance measurement to refine clinical standard operating procedures.

Abstract

Indonesia faces significant wheat import dependency, necessitating the development of healthy, local gluten-free food alternatives for populations with gluten sensitivities. This study aimed to determine the physical, sensory, and chemical characteristics of gluten-free dry noodles made from a ternary blend of Muli banana flour, tapioca, and rice flour. The research followed a factorial Randomized Block Design evaluating three flour formulation ratios and various cooking times. Results indicated that an 8-minute cooking time achieved optimal gelatinization. Formulation R3 (50% banana flour, 20% tapioca flour, and 15% rice flour) emerged as the superior treatment with the highest total rank score of 32 and the lowest cooking loss of 12.48%. Chemical analysis confirmed that moisture (9.59%) and ash content (1.84%) complied with SNI 01-3551-2000 standards, although protein content (1.72%) remained below the 8% threshold. The novelty of this research lies in the strategic optimization of local fruit and tuber starches to overcome technical challenges regarding elasticity and structural integrity inherent in gluten-free products. While phenolic oxidation in banana flour resulted in a darker color, sensory evaluations remained favorable. The implications of these findings suggest that utilizing local non-wheat resources can enhance national food security and provide viable dietary options for health-conscious consumers. Future development should incorporate protein-rich ingredients to improve the nutritional profile.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and evolving customer expectations has reshaped the hospitality industry, requiring organizations to develop agile human resources and innovative service capabilities to maintain sustainable competitiveness. Despite growing interest in organizational agility and innovation, limited studies have integrated Human Resource Agility (HRA), Service Innovation (SI), and Sustainable Competitive Advantage (SCA) within the hospitality sector, particularly in emerging economies such as Indonesia. This study examines the effect of HRA on SCA and investigates the mediating role of SI. A quantitative explanatory approach was employed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). Data were collected through structured questionnaires from 300 employees and managers working in hotels, resorts, villas, and hospitality platforms across Bali, Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Bandung, and Surabaya. Reliability and validity assessments were conducted, followed by structural model evaluation using path coefficients, R², Q², f², and bootstrapping with 5,000 resamples. The results reveal that HRA positively and significantly influences both SI and SCA. SI also has a significant positive effect on SCA and partially mediates the relationship between HRA and SCA. These findings indicate that agile human resources enhance organizational adaptability and innovation capability, thereby strengthening long-term competitive advantage. The model demonstrates satisfactory explanatory and predictive power, supporting the Resource-Based View and Dynamic Capability Theory. The study’s novelty lies in integrating HRA, SI, and SCA within the Indonesian hospitality, contributing to the understanding of agility-driven innovation mechanisms. Practically, the findings importance of strengthening digital competencies, adaptive learning, and innovation-oriented organizational cultures to achieve sustainable competitiveness.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a comprehensive conceptual framework to transform halal SMEs from platform dependency to digital autonomy through independent Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) websites, supported by Sharia-compliant fintech. This study employs a bibliometric review, drawing on 120 high-quality publications (30 papers per search query) from the Scopus and Web of Science databases. VOSviewer software was used to perform co-occurrence analysis of author and index keywords, generating network, overlay, and density visualizations. The VOSviewer analysis identified 23 key items divided into 3 main clusters with 207 links and a total link strength of 902: (1) Red Cluster – Supporting Technologies for Standalone Websites (website, platform, e-commerce, user, application); (2) Green Cluster – Fintech Innovation in the Halal Digital Ecosystem (fintech, innovation, data, evidence, role); and (3) Blue Cluster – Comparison of D2C Business Models (performance, company, time, resource, effect). The overlay visualization indicated that websites (2018.0), e-commerce (2018.5), fintech (2018.5), and innovation (2018.5) were relatively new research areas. The proposed three-stage framework—Market Dependency, Hybrid Transition, and Digital Autonomy—integrates appropriate fintech instruments (Murabahah for digital asset development, revenue-based financing for marketing, and Mudharabah for growth). Novelty: This study offers the first bibliometric mapping of the intersection between halal SMEs, D2C models, and Sharia fintech, proposing an integrated framework that bridges technical, financial, and institutional dimensions. Implications: The framework provides practical guidance for halal entrepreneurs, fintech providers, and policymakers to reduce platform dependency and achieve digital autonomy.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the determinants of energy dependency in Asia and examine whether geopolitical risk moderates the relationship between foreign direct investment (FDI) and energy dependency. Using secondary data from the International Energy Agency (IEA), the United States Energy Information Agency (EIA), the World Bank, the United Nations Trade and Development, and the Geopolitical Risk Index database, the study analyzes 77 observations from 27 Asian countries covering 2014, 2018, and 2022. Tobit regression is employed as the primary estimation method because energy dependency is bounded between 0 and 1, while fractional logit and fixed-effects panel regressions are used as robustness checks. The results indicate that geopolitical risk, institutional quality, carbon emissions per capita, and the interaction between FDI and geopolitical risk significantly influence energy dependency in the Tobit model. The interaction effect indicates that FDI is more effective at reducing energy dependency under higher geopolitical risk conditions. Fixed-effects estimation further shows that fossil fuel reliance is a significant determinant of energy dependency over time. Such divergence underscores the importance of model specification and provides a more nuanced understanding of the factors driving energy dependency. This study contributes to the energy security literature by extends resource dependency theory and shows that the determinants of energy dependency differ between structural cross-country conditions and within-country temporal dynamics. The novelty of this research is the moderating role of geopolitical risk in the relationship between FDI and energy dependency.
